First off, i am a cancer survivor, however their are still things that are too hard to swallow, so i he gotten the omelet from Ted's it's very good. But today my coworker ask that i pick her up a sprite. I ordered a large one but it was really just a medium , i was surprised when it was 3,85 cents. So this was something my wife found online when planning out different places she wanted to go. We came here to have a homemade pop tart, but never even tried one. We ate a meal and it was good. What changed our mind was the selection of deserts. We ended up trying some cake and doughnuts. The cake was seriously amazing! We would have come back for more if it didn't take so long to get through the city. So you are reading and then think, wait a minute. I'm seeing all this good stuff and there are only 3 stars?! This guy must be crazy! Well let me tell you why there are 3 stars. Our service truly sucked. It took forever for our lazy, I hate my job, waitress to come by. Then she didn't come back for a long time. At one point I sat my empty glass on the dividing wall next to the table to set it up high to be better seen. If you ever go eat with me, this is my biggest pet peeve! Do not let my cup get empty and I shouldn't have to ask for more to drink! EVENTUALLY she came back, after standing around forever chatting at the bar with other employees... "Oh I see your cup. It's kinda like your SOS. Help!" Um.. yeah, please give me more to drink. Cool vibe, good food, delicious shakes and early morning mimosas! Get here early, like before 8:15am if you want to score a table with minimal wait (less than 25 minutes). This place gets busy and patrons seem to have no problem standing for 30 minutes plus in the relatively tight front space which is part in-take area, part bakery store front, and part bar area. Note, the home made pop-tarts are worth a try - sweet, soft and big. They're not toasted though. read more

Food was ok- average at best. Service.... below average. We were told it would be a 35 minute wait which was fine. We noticed that 50 minutes had passed and decided to check on our place in queue. Hostess said maybe another 15 minutes. Another 30 minutes pass, hostess now says she doesn't know when we will be seated, that there are 3 parties ahead of us. We asked about outside seating and a small open window area with available seating. We were told both areas were not being serviced. On such a busy day, why would you not utilize all available seats? Finally, we receive the text to be seated (1hr & 45 mins later, drastically different from the 35 minutes we were told), waiter escorts us to our table then says "Give me a few minutes, I'll find someone to clean the table off." We are now standing in the aisle waiting for a clean table. After 1hr & 45 minutes, why our table wasn't already prepped, I have no clue. While we wait, We ask if there's a window table available? Another hostess comes and says we will now have to wait back up front another 45 minutes if we want a window table. Of course we decline! A manager then comes and seats us at window booth. Slices are huge, so enough to share and have left-overs, or enough to shove into our face for 2 seconds if you're a glutton like the writer. Oatmeal cream pie is also delicious. Millionaire bar is a loser. We've never had the pop tarts. They look too healthy and we're too busy eating cake. Go for cake. read more

I came to Ted's Bulletin for the first time for Sunday brunch, and I was thoroughly impressed. Colina and Dwon provided OUTSTANDING service throughout the afternoon, and they made it a very pleasant experience. Since I'm not a fan of eggs, I was able to substitute them for a side salad and some French Fries on my Steak & Eggs order. My 10-oz. NY strip was cooked perfectly in a medium-well fashion, and I was content with the chili butter with which I glazed the meat. I'll definitely be back. read more

Ted's kept popping up on my searches for tasty restaurants in DC, so I gave it a whirl. I'm so glad I did. I arrived on Saturday at noon and was told it would be 40 mInutes or I could sit at the counter or bar. I stalked the counter and got a seat after about 20 minutes. My adorably perfect pink-haired server named Kiyah greeted me promptly, was extremely friendly, and helped pick out my food. Her good mood put me in a good mood and the whole vibe of the staff was similar to hers. My chicken sandwich was perfection (crispy, slightly pickley, and the sauce was delicious), the tator tots a crispy standout, and my strawberry tart sweetly divine (though I like Dallas' Breadwinners version slightly more). I also ordered a side of sausage gravy with a biscuit and it was just ok (I mean, I do live in Texas). My to-go box came quickly, my check processed immediately, and Kiyah even gave me a special treat after I told her it was my first time in DC (PROMOTE her!!!:)) Overall, I had a really great experience and enjoyed watching the cooks work their magic while at the counter. If I get back here, I'll be going back to try that epic-looking breakfast! And I'll ask for the same server!!! Excellent job Ted's!!! read more

I love Ted's. It's one of my absolute favorite comfort food places in DC. Tonight I ordered what I usually do for pickup: a turkey club, no bacon on gf bread. What I got was not a turkey club. The turkey was toasted, not the fresh deli style in used to; there weren't any of the veggies on it Im used to; and they had a onion spread on it, similar to what you'd put on a burger. It's supposed to be a refreshing and delicious deli sandwich but it wasn't. I'm so disappointed because I was craving this sandwich. I'm gonna write this off as a one off during the pandemic - I trust Ted's but I hope they make my favorite sandwich properly again. It's the best gf sandwich in the city. read more

I have a lot of positives about this place and only a couple negatives that aren't *really* negatives... so I'd definitely say they deserve 4 stars. Positive #1: I liked pop tarts already, but these are homemade and warm and flakey and I didn't even know I was missing them in my life. Now I do and I'll never buy those FAKE pop tarts from the grocery store again. The strawberry one was so good but I also wanted to try the blueberry cheesecake that my friends have been raving over. Another day, another 3 dollars. Positive #2: The food is good. I didn't have anything I didn't like, so I think that's good. The hash browns were warm and cooked perfectly, just the right amount of crispiness. The chicken biscuits looked AMAZING. Dare I say... almost better than Chick-fil-As... Positive #3: You can get coffee while you're waiting for a table (which you'll have to because they don't take reservations). "Negative" #1: The drinks are pricey. A mimosa/Bellini/Bloody Mary is something like $10 each. Yes, the mimosa was good and fresh squeezed orange juice was in it, but I'm so used to DC brunching and having a bottomless option to make it a *little* more worthwhile and *at least* only $7 per drink. Ted's Bulletin is a "must do" for brunch every time we are in DC. Let's start with the brunch drinks... the Pineapple Ginger mimosas are thirst quenching! Everything on the menu is delicious and the desserts leave you satisfied. I absolutely recommend finishing with one of the "pop" tarts. The pot roast was amazing and the shakes were fantastic too. Great spot for a date night and one of my favorite parts was the classic movies and tv shows they played while you eat. While visiting DC, we came here for dinner, we ordered Short Rib Sammy and Chicken Piccata Pasta and they were both delicious! We also had the 5 layer chocolate cake and it was so good. It was so good that we had to come again for breakfast! This time we ordered the Mark On an Off Day and the Pancake Stack and an Oreo Milkshake, plates are pretty big and the Milkshake was incredible too. I LOVEDDD this place. I felt like I was in a scene from The Great Gatsby. They have older TVs and a projector playing black and white movies. The food was delicious, the service amazing. I went to Ted's Bulletin the other night with a friend and had the avocado toast. It was amazing and our waitress was so kind. Wished there was more avocado on the toast. Only complaint was the iced coffee - it was warm. Seemed like they had made it hot by accident and then just added the ice to cool it down rather than make a new one. Was slightly disappointed at that bit. There was also a couple at the booth next to us having a major fight (yikes) and it got really invasive and loud. We were so disturbed but didn't want to intrude. Was hoping one of the employees would tell them to bring it down a notch. Other than that overall we had a good time! read more

HUGE portions! The food was absolutely amazing. We came for a late night dinner (the kid had breakfast and I had a sandwich) and we ended up coming back the very next day for breakfast (which had me full all day long). My girlfriend and I came in during a pretty busy time, pretty hungover. Most people were waiting on tables so we asked about the bar and that's when one of the bartenders motioned for us to come over to a small bar style table in the corner. He immediately took our drink orders, offering mimosas or bloody marys. He could definitely see we were hungover and needed something. He returned almost immediately with our drinks, took our food orders, and we had our food within 20 minutes. He returned promptly for other drink orders, all the while the place was bustling and slammed. There were at least 15 people or more waiting (they were super busy with it being brunch time and Sunday) but we never felt like we were unattended. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the crab benedict and my girlfriend had the thick-cut french toast. Good portions and superb service. If we're in DC again, we'll definitely make a visit. read more

Arrived in DC late Friday night looking for a restaurant along 14th. Saw the amazing reviews for Ted's Bulletin and it did not disappointment. The decor is nice and updated but with a vintage feel- but it's also not trying too hard which is refreshing. The food really speaks for itself. We shared the breakfast burrito which our waiter dubbed as his favorite. It was perfect to split and they so kindly served it on two plates. We also shared the loaded tots which were AMAZING. These aren't your normal every day tots and they come with this magical ranch style sauce which really hits the spot. We never got to try the famous Tart but will definitely return for a taste. read more

Kenneth took care of us at the bar when I ordered a Ted's Dark and m' lady ordered the Dog Patch. The Dark is a great brown ale to have on a cold night @BrooklynBrewery. BLT on a potato skin...Awesome! First I thought it was just a salad, but once I cut into it, surprise!, there is potato skin instead of bread. They use lusciously thick Virginia bacon that had a hint of smokey ness. The Mac-N-Cheese is to die for. Toasted breadcrumbs on top and cheesy goodness underneath...mmmm...mmmm....mmmm. read more

I came to Ted's Bulletin for a weekday (Friday) lunch with a couple of coworkers. We got an 11:45am reservation at the last minute. I couldn't believe how busy the place was! We were immediately seated and given the menus, and spent probably 15 minutes deciding what we wanted. There were SO many options! It was a cold day so everyone was hankering for some comfort food. I went with a burger and fries (if you have read any of my other reviews, you will notice that I like burgers and fries). My boss went with the "famous grilled cheese and tomato soup" slightly reluctantly. He asked our waiter (the ridiculous looking man with the curly mustache) what made the grilled cheese famous and our waiter had a less than impressive answer. I think it was something like "oh actually the soup is what's famous, it has all sorts of stuff in it. Vegetarians and gluten free people can't eat it. The grilled cheese is good too." This was a weird response given that it's listed on the menu as the famous grilled cheese not the famous tomato soup. Also, I don't think it's made clear that this soup isn't vegetarian friendly? They may want to fix that or inform their waiters why this soup is actually famous. The soup and grilled cheese were good, though, according to my boss. Apparently there was "all sorts of stuff" in the soup. My burger and fries were also good, and our other coworker got a chicken salad sandwich I believe. She was happy with it, but saved half for later so she can't have been THAT happy with it. We had decided as soon as we sat down that we wanted to get a pop tart to split, but our waiter took the pop tart menu after we ordered our mains (after asking to hold onto the menu he said "it's ok, I can just tell you what the flavors are when you're ready). That was fine, but then we had to discuss while he waited, which was annoying. We landed on apple pie, which was good. It was less of an "apple pie poptart" and more of just an apple pie. Which is fine, I love apple pies. I'm looking forward to coming back here - I would love to come for brunch! read more

My friend and I came here on a whim after a hectic night out and everything about it was incredible. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, the service from every single staff member went above and beyond, and the overall atmosphere was one you can't find in many other places. It may be unfair to write a review of Ted's Bulletin in Logan Circle so soon, as it just opened recently, and I came for dinner about 5 days after their opening, so I suggest taking this review with a bit of skepticism, with the hope that it'll figure out its problems soon. I think the decor is fantastic. They've clearly spent a small fortune to design this place, and it looks great. The concept is also fun -- a reminder of days past and an image of Americana known to all but experienced by some. The men's room is oddly laid out, and I think they could have utilized the space in there better. The bar is sprawling, and greets you as you enter on 14th Street. Drinks are well made and not overly expensive, considering the neighborhood. Food was mediocre though substantial, and while our server pushed the Pop Tarts on us, I can't say I as terribly impressed. Good, sure, but I think I've met my Pop Tart quota for a while now. The service however, must change. We waited for our table at the bar, which was comfortable, and were seated by a very nice hostess. But our server didn't actually show up to our table until about 20 minutes after that. She was mildly apologetic, but made up an excuse that it was her first time waiting for a dinner service and that things were hectic. OK, fine, but a simple "I'm sorry for the wait, please enjoy an appetizer or cocktail on me" may have been better. The waits continued though. For two diners, ordering just entrees, deserts, and one drink each, our dinner, from the time we were seated, to the time we paid the bill, was about 2 hours. No wonder there are lines to get in. I think Ted's has the ability to be good, and maybe it will be, and perhaps my review is too soon. I hope I'm right. read more

This place is so terribly disappointing. Its popularity despite utterly mediocre (at best) food is a real conundrum and emblematic of everything that's wrong with the DC restaurant scene. In a party of 4 we had people with scrambled eggs and omelets. The eggs were flavorless and dry, tasting as if they came from a carton. The omelets were flat thin slabs of the same flavorless egg product wrapped around whatever the filling was. I've had better at hotel buffets. Bacon? Unevenly cooked, fatty and unremarkable. Hash browns? Oily, undercooked and lacking any real flavor except for overly-applied sage. Even the English muffin was poor, tiny and tough. Yes they have "pop-tarts." You know what? They're a gimmick, far inferior to the genuine article. All that lameness, and people apparently wait over an hour to eat here. Why? In part it's the service, which while very friendly, is excruciatingly slow. And of course you'll pay way, way too much for such poor quality. DC, you need to demand better from your restaurants or they'll continue treating you like crap! read more

Ted's is the place I constantly crave and always recommend to people visiting the city or just looking for a new place to check out. It literally never disappoints. I've been to the 14th street location a few times and I only have great things to say. I will note that I have only been to Ted's for weekend brunch and to pick up treats so I really need to stop in for dinner. Ted's does not take online reservations during brunch. You can put your name down day of, but expect a wait. You can also troll up and down the two bar areas waiting for someone to finish up as it is first come, first serve. I really prefer to sit at the bar anyways. They have a copy of the daily newspaper waiting for you on the bar. If its not there, you can ask your server for a copy. My current favorite dish is the chicken and biscuits. 3 miniature flakey biscuits come served with small pieces of friend chicken and topped with honey. They come with a side of home fries which I prefer to the hash browns (even though the hash browns are also good). I quite like other things on the menu, but I just keep ordering the chicken and biscuits. I love Ted's coffee. I really love that they leave an entire pitcher of coffee on the table for you. Great service all around. Also, you gotta get a pop tart. I feel like people don't think that a pop tart can be THAT special, but trust me....they are THAT special. The blueberry cheese cake is fantastic, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. They are a perfect single serve gift or a party favorite. read more

I was trying to eat a breakfast/brunch here for a while. There's always a line and the food looks good. Unfortunately, the food is not worth the wait. It's not really worth eating either. We ordered the pancakes (based on the recommendation of people sitting next to us) and the breakfast burrito. The pancakes were no different than ihop or the powdered box I have at home. The breakfast burrito was completely tasteless! Completely! I may come back here and try a milkshake. Maybe I'm a sucker for punishment. Definitely won't be back for the food. read more
