We decided to start with some of the wings that didn't get a picture taken because they looked so good we devoured it in minutes. Our boozey shakes came out! I had the banana foster one and it was INCREDIBLE! There were actual banana chunks in it so I appreciated that! For my entree I had the grilled salmon, it was light, and had tons of flavors. Nothing out of the ordinary but definitely a good supplement to the milkshake! My husband had the deluxe grilled cheese, that was filled with short ribs & came with tomato soup. Both of the grilled cheese and the tomato bisque were incredible! The soup was one of the best tomato soups I've had in such a long time and the grilled cheese had so much flavor in each bite, nothing like a regular grilled cheese. We were walking around trying to find a place to have coffee and a snack. So happy we came across Ted's. The place is nice with a bakery area in the front, along with seating at the bar and a few tables with seating facing the street. We sat there and got the Irish coffee to start with. The servers were attentive and kind. We had to leave quickly, so we didn't get to try the Ted's Tarts, which looked like homemade pop tarts. Will definitely be back! read more

I love the ambiance of this place. It's very welcoming and bright. It was PACKED, but we found two really good seats at the bar. We started off with the Mimosa Kit with Pineapple Ginger Juice. Amazing! One of my favs here. A classic. We also enjoyed a few shots of Tequila Reposado. For brunch we enjoyed the Big Mark Breakfast and The Chicken n' Biscuits with a side of sausage gravy. The big mark breakfast was just what I needed to cure the hangover pain of the night before. It was hearty but also very delicious. I opted for all bacon instead of the sausage because, *I love bacon* 10/10 would recommend. My partner enjoyed the Chicken biscuits. She didn't like that the chicken was smaller than the biscuit, but she gave it a solid 6/10. Our Bartender/Waitress, Johnne was AMAZING. We tried Ted's this past weekend and it was okay. The huevos rancheros were amazing literally some of the best I've had, my bf food though not so much. He ordered the breakfast sandwich but it seemed that they brought him someone else's because it was missing the sausage and all the eggs were scrambled so it was just like a huge egg sandwich. I recently had breakfast at Ted's Bulletin with three others, and the experience was pretty middle-of-the-road. I tried the brown sugar pop tart, which I was excited about, but it was just... okay. It was too sugary and the sprinkles were overkill. The biscuits and gravy were also underwhelming, lacking that hearty, comforting flavor that you'd expect from a breakfast staple. As for the rest of my group, they all felt the same about their meals--nothing terrible, but nothing particularly memorable either. Folks had food left over and we didn't want boxes. Overall, it was an "okay" breakfast, but I wouldn't rush back. If you're nearby and want a quick bite, it's fine, but don't expect to be blown away. Service was great and the vibes were good. Everyone greeted us with such warmth and kindness. The interior is quite large with old tv shows playing on a large projector. It's very cute! The food is a treat as well. We began with some delicious cheeseburger empanadas served with an herby ketchup. For entrees, we ordered the short rib stroganoff and impossible bolognese. We shared a side of delectable Brussels sprouts. Each of these choices was delicious. The short ribs had a great crust, and the Brussels sprouts were fried to perfection. For dessert, we ended the night with a blueberry cheesecake tart. It was akin to a slightly warm, slightly gooey, very delicious pop tart. Perfect end to a great meal! read more

I love Ted's Bulletin. Not a big fan of this location. Ambience seems fine, but after coming in several times at different hours, for dining in and take out. I've got to say this is not Ted's Bulletin best location. Staff doesn't seem to care much about delivering a good experience (with the exception of the guys at the bar upfront). A few examples are: -the "take it or leave it" attitude from the hosts (plural) if you walk in and ask for a table. -that when you order at the to go area and your food is ready no one takes the time to let you know (specially important when there are other people waiting, including several delivery guys) and then you end up with cold food. -when my wife asked for napkins the person behind the counter (who unfortunately seemed to be a manager) just extended his had pulled a single napkin and held it in the air while looking at the computer screen without saying a word, addressing her or even looking up. He didn't even reply when she said thank you. We have been to this location at night, in the afternoon and late morning on weekends and 2 times we decided to leave due to the staffs unwelcoming attitude, which makes me think it might be a culture problem of that location. read more

Just ordered Ted's for a hungover Saturday breakfast. I live 2 blocks from the store but opted to get delivery bc I wasn't feeling great. The food arrived cold, soggy, and just terribly disappointing. I ordered the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and hash browns - such a simple meal, how can you possible mess that up? The French toast was probably the worst I've ever had, it was incredibly dry and burnt, it mostly tasted like dry burnt bread. The hash browns were better, but really greasy. The eggs were passable, but so cold. The $6 orange juice was just Tropicana OJ (I thought for that price it was going to be fresh squeezed). I'm not a particularly picky person and can typically eat anything, but most of this dish unfortunately went to the trash. Not sure if this was an off day or what, but I won't be returning. read more

I would say "Upscale dinner like restaurant" to describe this spot. This place was recommended by one of our bartenders as they are known for their pop tarts. However we didn't have one because they didn't look fresh, they were sitting in a display container. We sat at the bar- I had the dirty Shirley it was good- kinda tasted like a sangria. Had a couple of appetizers Avocado Hummus- great for sharing although it was more on the hummus side so I'm thinking they might use an avocado cream of some sort. We ate here today for the first time and it was absolutely fantastic. The menu is reasonably priced and has a good mix of healthy and decadent items. The staff is friendly and courteous and appears to enjoy working there. My boyfriend and I shared the loaded tots which are homemade and put all others to shame. I had the kale salad, he had the breakfast burrito, and we split a Ted's Tart. Everything was delicious! Our server, Noeli, was friendly and gave us great service! I've visited Ted's Bulletin on 14th Street in DC a handful of times over the last year and they've always impressed me with their consistency, accommodations of my large family and food quality. Full disclosure, this restaurant serves traditional diner food with somewhat of a contemporary DC restaurant feel. For diner-style breakfast food it is everything you'd expect. They do diner-style food very well from their french toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, cheese grits, eggs, toast, etc.. Go in with this in mind and manage your expectations accordingly. My recommendation is to book reservations regardless of time of day you desire to visit. Seating is generally ample considering I've mostly visited during weekday breakfast hours and early weekend brunch however on one occasion I did visit on a holiday and it was shockingly jammed packed even with a reservation. They have wooden booth style seating which is perfect for groups of 6 or large families. Booster seats fit well in the booths as well. Service has always been average. I can't go as far as saying the wait service is above average because I do have specific standards for customer service including friendliness, attentiveness, desire and enthusiasm, and accuracy. I haven't had a bad experience in these categories with this Ted's Bulletin but the service isn't standout. However I must note every time I've dined here the lady manager has always managed to stop by our table and other tables in the vicinity to greet and thank us for visiting. That does go a long way and in my DC dining experience that kind of behavior from managers is not widely practiced. Overall a very good experience and I'll continue to visit. Give them a shot. read more

Thanks to Bob, with his amazing service, it was a really nice evening. As an app, I tried the popcorn shrimp. It was ok. The breading was crunchy but lacked the flavorful pop I've had with other popcorn shrimp apps. As an entree, I had the Country Fried Chicken and upgraded to the Tater Tots. The gravy covered chicken was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. It looked like it came from grandma's chicken. It was a crunchy and tasty dish.. NOW... FOR... THE... TATER TOTS. Loved them. I should preface, I love hashbrowns and thus tater tots. So this menu item immediately had my attention. I couldnt resist getting them even with the upcharge. The tots aren't these itty bitty little bites but are instead enormous cubes of goodness. You couldn't just pop them in your mouth. For me, these had the best of both worlds with the extra crunch of tots but the plentiful potato-ness of hash browns. Loved it. I finished it off with a milkshake. I feel like Ted's Bulletin is a D.C. institution considering it's popularity in the DMV. And despite how popular/common it is, I never tried it until now. I was in the area and was trying to decide what I wanted to eat and since I was in the mood for breakfast food I stopped here. It was early afternoon on a Saturday so the brunch crowd was in full force and it was packed. I waited for a seat to open up at the counter and sat there. I ended up getting the French toast which came with hash browns, eggs, and meat of your choice. To drink, I had an orange juice. The food was good. It was really solid breakfast food. I didn't order anything over the top. I also got two Ted's tarts to go: strawberry and s'mores. I loved how flaky the tarts were. Definitely not your average pop tart.
