This is my second time eating at this location and my last. The food was horribly dry. My girlfriend and her daughter both had burnt sliced potatoes with their breakfast sandwiches. I had a Meat Lovers Omelette with hash browns. It took no time at all for our meals so I know it wasn't due to the food sitting idle. It was just well overcooked. My omelette lacked cheese and the meat inside was overcooked. There are too many other places to eat at for the same price but better quality. read more

The worse customer service on the planet!!! Somehow my take out order over the phone never processed... Only realized when I got there. Was told that they had too much going on, and told to wait... then wait some more. So I waited... and it's already 2030 and yet, still have to receive my patty melt, and two orders of cinnamon apple french toast. Don't come to this location unless you expect to fast for 24 hours... and that's fast as in not expecting to eat, not so much as their quality of service. I expected to at least get a sympathetic gesture such as a discount... just something; even a glass of water just for patiently waiting several centuries for my order a second time around. No updates were even provided as to how many decades it would take for my order to be ready by. Instead, servers walked past me several times as if I never existed. So, simply requested a refund because that's at least something they can't mess up. Low prices, lower customer service should be Tee Jaye's motto. read more

Terrible customer service what killed it was Becky she was not being helpful with how I felt having to come back back-and-forth and when I came back 45 minutes later, she did not make the food fresh ask requested she did not care to be helpful she would not give a refund. She said the only thing she could do was go in there and eat when I don't want to deal with her customer service again she had a terrible attitude. How she speaks to paying customers is outrageous. I can't believe she's the boss. I never got this resolved because she didn't want to help make it right. Go for breakfast not appetizers. My husband had good memories of breakfast anytime of day and my over easy egg was cooked perfectly. Nothing special about the appetizer sampler and it was not served with the marinara sauce for the cheese sticks. I do think the server you get impacts the experience. Watching our food die in the window and waiting awhile to payout took one star. I love breakfast food so would give this establishment a second chance if stopping in Grove City. read more

The food took almost 45 minutes to arrive at our table, and it was cold and burnt. Unpalatable. (We ate what we could) The service was horrible! The server never once offered us refills on our beverages, she basically dropped the food and check off and left us. It was not busy at all. The restrooms were unclean and smelled horrible. Less than a quarter mile from the I-75 highway, an egg sizzles, a crowd of Sunday church-goers mingle, and arteries clench in the blue-collar watering hole that is Tee Jaye's Country Place. The echoes of simpler times are alive and well. Tee Jaye's feels like a restaurant chain that was never fully thought out. Aside from a lone shelf with antiques, there was nothing (other than the menu) that told the story that Tee Jaye's was a place for comfort food and home-cooking. The bare walls leave you feeling like you're inside the love-child of Perkins and Bob Evans, trapped in the body of a 90s cookie-cutter chain restaurant. The delayed service at Tee Jaye's feels less egregious an offense than the 45 minute wait for a table at Cracker Barrel across the street, while the biscuits and gravy feels more egregious a sin than anything I had eaten in the last month. While the food is hearty and comforting, there's nothing that left me with the feeling that I couldn't have made it at home, myself (even the coffee brewed is Folgers). With a spattering of hangover-curing dishes on the table, our crew got to sample a few of the dishes on the breakfast menu (breakfast wrap, sandwich, biscuit and gravy, and the fried chicken). Tee Jayes also certainly scores bonus points with the free dessert check-in offer on Yelp. With it's highwayside location, it could probably get by with its comfort foods, or with the slow service... but when paired together it just becomes a super mediocre experience (which feels generous to say). Our server, Chad, was polite and apologetic for the long wait times. It felt that a need for more staffing was the issue while we were there (which feels like it should be anticipated on a Sunday morning). While this time we opted to try somewhere new, I think If I were back in the area in need of some highway-side grub, I'd wait for a table at Cracker Barrel. read more

I went to the t j's country place on Stringtown road this morning. I got 2 platters. Both of my platters look like somebody's dog food plate. It was all throat on top of everything. We got a grinded up biscuit that looked like somebody had already ate it and the eggs were burnt and ice cold. I had the eggs Benedict which were disappointing at best. Wifie had hen house special which looked good. The sausage gravy was ok - bacon was awesome - the real salvation of this breakfast was the service. The staff at this place was fine and the place it self was clean. Just thought the food it self was not very good at all. Wife has the ribeye that I heard the waitress even say what's wrong with the kitchen and that steak.. well ok then lol. My eggs were fried eggs and my corn cakes were good. On Saturday morning I showed up to pick up my order. They gave me order to the door dash employee waiting for an order. l was stuck waiting for over 25 minutes for them to remake my order. When I asked Vickey if their was something they could do for me. She said there was nothing she could do but give me my money back and keep my food. The bill was cheap too. The only thing was that it was just okay food at a decent price. I consider myself a connoisseur of places to eat by motels and just off interstates. Waffle House, Bob Evans, Steak n Shake, and then there is Tee Jaye's. My standards are low, but not this low. I chose something off the Tuesday special list. The country baked steak sounded good. It was edible, I'll give it that. I figure they are of the mentality that anything smothered with gravy will disguise the taste of whatever meat there is. It almost worked had it not been for the excessive salt in the gravy. I had country fries and corn as my sides. The country fries were bland so it went well with the gravy. I have never seen the shade of yellow that the corn was. I don't think crayola has developed that color yet. Unnatural color aside, the corn tasted ok, not great. The biscuits, I would avoid completely. The sweet tea...well, it's hard to mess up sweet tea. The service was ok, but I really wasn't there long enough to require a refill on anything. Honestly, if this is country cooking, Aunt Bea might need to get evaluated for Alzheimer's. read more

$35 worth of food (delivered through Grubhub) tossed in the trash. My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner. He substituted the dressing for potatoes but the order was incorrect and he received a ball of mush with gravy dumped on top that one could only assume was what they consider dressing. He doesn't eat dressing but I do. I took one bite and spit it out. The meatloaf was a burned flavorless hockey puck. The cornbread was a brick. I ordered the liver and onions with mashed potatoes and green beans. The liver was not prepared properly. It was extremely gamey. The one bite I took left a horrible taste that I had to brush my teeth twice to get rid of. The potatoes looked like they had been made a week ago. Only thing edible was the green beans. They also failed to include my two beverages. I honestly can not recall the last time, if ever, I received such disgusting food from a restaurant. Lemon Meringue Pie is on the menu as well, so it makes me wonder if they just don't know how to make hollandaise sauce and use their custard base instead. So I saw that this Tee Jaye's has pretty low ratings, and I'm not sure why. Perhaps I caught them on a good day? At any rate, I found this experience just as enjoyable as the experiences I've had at other Tee Jaye's locations. In fact, I would say that the country fries were better and the waitress was more attentive than what I typically have at the location I go to more often. I have eaten there three time. Once I had a wonderful waitress. The other two times, I'm not sure if I had a server. I had the split roast beef.
