Pork dumplings, Pork XLB, wonton soup

We had such a great time - attentive service, nice food, beautiful view and very dog friendly. What else can we ask for? Dumpling Time is so convenient. Park at the basement in Olin garage which gives you first 90 minutes free. Take a short stairs up and there you are in the middle of Santana Row. You'll see Dumpling Times right away :) We were one of their first customers and we had our puppy with us. We first sat facing the courtyard but it was windy and chilly. The staff promptly moved us to an area of no wind and with working overhead space heater for our comfort, while maintaining our view. Our server was very attentive. He kept checking on us to see what we needed. At the beginning, he promptly brought out a nice cup of water for our pup, served our teas and took our orders. Food also came out in reasonable time as well. I love that all the dishes here were of reasonable prices and portions. We ordered 2 dumpling dishes and a wonton soup. Everything was nicely flavored and made of fresh ingredients. My mom and I chomped down on our dishes and finished them all within record time LOL Honestly, I believe Dumpling Time is underrated. You can get very decent dumplings here with nice portions and reasonable prices while enjoying Santana Row.

Absolutely delicious! Excellent food and service! We were able to walk in on a Friday evening and got seated within 20 mins. Highly recommend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious food! We loved the lobster siu mai dipped in soy sauce and chili oil. Also loved the seared pork bun, I think it's my first time eating seared, not steamed. Enjoyed the mango tango mocktail, too! We opted for outdoor seating to be some fresh air and it was lovely! Service was good.

Came here with my dog on a Saturday at 7:30pm. Not busy at all, but maybe due to the Super Bowl weekend. Parking was tough but its Santana Row, so it's expected. The inside was industrial/bar type. And looked kinda slow. So I sat outside, and I really love the small Chinese lanterns. What I ordered: -Beijing noodles: very good and flavorful. -3 piece Chicken Bao: excellent with the red vinegar -XLB Combo: 10 pieces of each flavor. All tasted good with the red vinegar and soy sauce. This was a lot for 1 guy like me. So I did put 6 dumplings in a box to take home. Friendly staff and clean everything.

    Green beans and broccolini

We happened to be in the area and our daughter wanted to try this place out, so we decided to give it a shot. We arrived right before the lunch rush, and even with a reservation, we had to wait until our entire party arrived before being seated. We ordered the chili pork dumplings, pork and shrimp siu mai, pork Xiao Long Bao, green beans, broccolini, and pork gyoza. Overall, everything tasted okay, but nothing really stood out with a "wow" factor. The chili pork dumplings were my least favorite, they could've used more flavor and the green beans were very salty. The portions were reasonable, but the tables felt pretty small for a group of five, even though we didn't order a lot of food. The main reason for the lower rating, though, was cleanliness. The spoons at our table were dirty, with crusty residue inside. We went to grab Xiao Long Bao spoons from another table and noticed the same issue. Later on, we even saw another diner behind us asking for a new spoon. That was pretty off putting and not something you'd expect at this price point. Overall, it's fine if you're already in the area and curious to try it, but between the average flavors, seating issues, and cleanliness concerns, it didn't fully meet expectations.

I've never been to Dumpling Time but when I noticed that they served jellyfish salad, I was ALL in. Jellyfish salad is amazingly delicious especially at dim sum restaurants or even at weddings, however, the salad here was slightly different. Since we were craving just the jellyfish salad, that was all we ordered. The jellyfish was on the crunchier side and was marinated in what seemed to look like chili oil. It wasn't salty whatsoever and was slightly bland. On its own we rated it a 4/10 but once we dressed it up with extra soy and chili, it became a 7/10 as it tasted much better. Overall, I would not order it again but I am open to trying their other dishes!

Solid, consistent choice in Santana Row with great outdoor seating! Service is speedy and efficient. The green beans are my favorite dish on the menu. The tom yum xiao long bao are also super flavorful and bright. Recommend for a quick and easy lunch or dinner!

    Trio Buns (V)

Was okay! Did takeout and the ordering process was straightforward, my favorites were the regular pork XLB and the shui mai. Came out around $210 for everything. Going down the list: Assorted Buns: were okay for a light dessert. Had egg, and taro and one other flavor (red bean maybe)? Overall the bun was somewhat oversteamed. Stinky Tofu: was good, had a lot of flavor but some sand like sentiments in it. Dumplings: were good on their own without the extra garnish, tasted like dumplings. Wagyu XLB: Would skip as the rendering was overpowering. Tasted like soft fat and not in a good way. Sesame Balls: good and crispy. Har gow: Oversteamed as the skin was tough but had a good flavor. Lobster Shui Mai: My favorite, tasted like shui mai but couldn't really find the lobster. Crispy Tofu: was decent, over seasoned with soy sauce. Spicy Chili Oil Dumplings: was too doused in soy sauce and spices I'd say, be better with some more umami. Beef Noodles Soup: Was okay, really didn't like the soy based broth and the bakchoy was under cooked.

Our yearly lunch with supplier. Been wanting to try this place. Nice and roomy inside we had a group of 9. Not much of a crowd before or after we left so things came out fast. It's not your Din Tai Fung but not bad. We order lots of selection but nothing really to rave about. They had good selection of vegetarian as well as we had one vegetarian in the group.

Landed here on a weekend before Christmas. There were a few people ahead of us. We got seated fairly quickly. The staff was accommodating and the service was quick. We had the mapo tofu and the popcorn chicken . The mapo tofu was really crispy on the outside and soft tofu on the inside. The sauce it came with was spicy and went very well with the tofu. The popcorn chicken was crispy but I felt it would taste better with a sauce. I had the vegetable dumplings in a garlicky sour soup. For that cold night it brought the warmth. The dumplings had a thick outer covering but the filling was really good . The garlicky sour soup is a must have here. It came closest to the Indian hot and sour soup. For indians looking for hot and sour soup - this is the place. Paired it with the noodles and it was a complete meal The mango pudding was good too .

5 stars for the staff, 2 for the management/owners, if they deliberately are choosing to not hire more people. Food is like a 6.5/10 They appear to be understaffed from what I could tell, servers and hosts taking care of a ton of tables in tandem, with nowhere enough bandwidth to handle takeout orders or walk-ins. I saw a customer wait for a while at the entrance, and walk out frustrated, saying, "I can't believe I had to wait 10 minutes and nobody can even take my order!" Not the staff's fault imo, they're handling a lot. Food: Egg scallion noodles 6.5/10: Tasted okay, but greasier than I would've liked. Egg was cooked well, still runny. Bbq pork bao 7/10: Not badd but could've been from the frozen section of an Asian market and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. Siu Mai (Pork and Shrimp) 7/10: Again, not bad is the best way to describe most of the food. Tasted pretty standard except I personally didn't love the roe sprinkled on top. Pork Xiao Long Bao: 6/10: Broth tasted watered down and not very healthy (subjective). Wish a staple like this could've been executed a bit better. The staff make this place better, I hope if management sees this, they can treat them better in terms of workload and comp.

Very enjoyable experience! Its a shame its taken me so many months to leave a review! I stopped in after hours of shopping had taken their inevitable toll. Our group was seated promptly and quickly brought water. The seaweed salad was lovely and fresh, and did exactly what an appetizer needed to do. All of the server recommendations were fantastic!! Especially the pork xlb and the chili pork dumplings! The mint gin cocktail was also lovely! Definitely would stop here again.

    Pho XLB
    Cynthia P.

We woke up wanting dumplings today, and decided to try Dumpling Time since we have never been to it yet. It was early afternoon, so there was no wait for a table. We got seated pretty quickly. We ordered pork & shrimp siumai, XLB combo, Sesame Jellyfish Salad, and then Pho XLB. Out of all the XLB, we thought the pho one was the best. It tasted just like pho! I liked how it came with lime, bean sprouts and other veggies! Yummy! Our least favorite was the truffle one (the black one). The jellyfish salad is delicious! I love the chili oil! Our total came out to be 80 dollars including tip! Overall, this place is good, but wouldn't say it's the best! however, it does have unique flavors that I would recommend someone to try.

We knew to go early, since they don't take reservations and we often see lines outside. We arrived at 10:30am and the front manager said if we can be done my 12:30, that they had a table for us. Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. The service was prompt and attentive, with enough servers to take care of the side room. Since it was the "sun room", the sun was shining through the windows and it was bright. Review from my parents: it was just meh, they prefer the other place near our house. I think the food is good, but probably won't come back again with a big group of us, since they don't have many big round tables. And personally, I prefer the whole experience of the ladies coming around with their carts. Perhaps their dinner menu is also worth trying. Bonus for us is that we can literally walk to this restaurant. Parking could be an issue if you come later.

Ironically, I'm not a fan of them myself--they're a bit too eggy for my taste. When it comes to dim sum quality and service, I honestly prefer Koi Palace. The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.

Doesn't look customers in the eye, provides minimal service, hell, we had to ask the support staff to bring us chopsticks for food we had delivered to us 10 minutes ago, which grew cold. He never checked in on us, and we were charged 20% gratuity since we were 12 people. I don't mind auto-gratuity, but when the service is nonexistent, it really doesn't sit well. Overall it was a good experience, but the service is the deciding factor of anyone one of us 12 returning. Really unfortunate service from our waiter, other support staff seemed really nice, but he wasn't in charge of taking care of us, sadly. We were thoroughly ignored. Again, food was good, but service was so poor that this review is mainly negative. Edit: to top is off, delivered the wrong food twice, we cancelled our pork belly buns because they took too long/he ordered mala buns for us instead. Another addition: charged us twice for sea salt cream that we didn't order, and tried to say that we did order it.

The 9 of us had the prefix $688 menu. There was a lot of food. Many other people had the same dinner. The food was fresh and piping hot. I liked the combination fried rice. It was loaded and had some crunchy tidbits on top. They was also a steak dish that came with shrimp that was delicious. It was also nice to be able to shop after dinner as there is a TJ Maxx Home goods right next door.

They also have the carts that go around that you can directly pick from after ordering your original order off of the paper. The food comes out pretty fast, even though they're super busy. Har Gow is my favorite so those were pretty good, the wrapper was not too thick 4/5, same with the siu mai. The beef chow fun was pretty greasy but that's pretty typical with this dish, the color was pretty nice on the noodles too 4/5. They offer Jasmine hot tea or chrysanthemum hot tea, and water when requested. Again pretty typical Dim Sum experience, nothing too extravagant or out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey. I would go here again with my family, probably not first choice though

The…read morerestaurant is always bustling on weekends, so without a reservation, would definitely expect a wait time. The dim sum carts have large variety and are fresh and fast, but the set menu helps alleviate the chaos and the decision of having to pick what to get haha. The food gets delivered fast and is fresh. The set menu has a large variety of different foods, from meat like duck and sweet / sour chicken, to veggies like mushroom and snap peas, to seafood like fish and lobster and scallops, as well as soup and fried rice. The food is served in waves, so there's always a new dish on the table every 5-10 minutes. The portions are massive! We always have plenty of leftovers to last us the rest of the weekend. Everything is tasty and seasoned well. My personal favs are the fried pumpkin, lobster noodles, and scallops, although all dishes were hits. Will definitely be back for the next group gathering!

Plenty of private rooms to dine in, 2 humongous TV, and plenty to space esp for a wedding. Well, we reserved for a party of 24. Placed our order, but the food took a while to come out. It did not seem so busy for a Friday night around 7:30pm. There were plenty of tables available. When our first dish came out, it was the fish maw soup. Which is usually eaten with red vinegar and white pepper, but there was none on our table. We asked for white pepper 3x and no one brought it to us. The soup ended up being ao bland, the only bland dish for the night, because everything else we ordered are SALTY!!!!! SALTY! SALTY! SALTY! We ordered 2 of everything bc we had to 2 tables. Thefried shrimp, SALTY! Honey walnut shrimp, SALTY! Expensive lobster with noodle, SALTY! A few tofu dishes, SALTY! Clams were okay. I forgot what else we ordered, but it was SALTY! And I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Service was HORRIBLE!! I had to ask for water for 3 different people, I order in English and Chinese, and still nothing. The white pepper we asked showed up around the end of meal. I'm not sure if all the staff were new, but it was horrible service. Especially for a $1,000 meal, we want better service, just asking for the bare minimum. Will not be attending again.
