Please, please, please! If you live in Texas, drive here and eat! Now, it's possible Te'jun is actually 4 stars, but our experience here just took it over the top. The employees AND the customers made me feel like we were family. The two girls helping us were a blast. The 4 ladies out on the deck said "come on out here and eat with us!" and we did! The menu is huge, so look at it on Yelp and start deciding now. We both chose the Te'jun Favorite, shrimp, lobster tail, corn, and potatoes for $22. What a deal! I added sausage to mine so I could try it. The food comes out with a very mild kick, so everyone can eat it. That's a good thing. There are sauces you can add to spice it up if you want. I did, of course! The butter sauce and the kicked up red sauce were so good. I just kept dipping. The dining room is large, clean, and cool. Out on the deck can be warm (or hot!) but there are fans to help cool it down a little. The huge pond by the deck is full of turtles and catfish. You can buy fish food out of a machine to feed them. The family next to us had no change, so I gave the kids all my quarters. They had a blast feeding the fish! It was just as much fun watching the kids as it was watching the fish. The plastic alligators fooled me the first 30 seconds, but it's a fun touch. The heads will move like they are watching you! This was a great visit with wonderful food. My family and I came for dinner twice in a 3 day period. Lobster, catfish, shrimp, hushpuppies and fries! The walk up service was friendly and the first visit the order taker/cashier walked me thru the menu. The 2nd night we knew what we wanted to order. There is ample seating, I believe there are 4 dining rooms available. My wife and kids also liked the sausage and corn. I should have asked for extra cajun seasoning on my meal as it was very good. I hate to say it but I was un-impressed with the food. Fried catfish was over cooked nearly to the point of being burnt. Lobster tails were overcooked and rubbery. I hope it was just a bad night in the kitchen for their sake. Restaraunt itself was very clean and nicely organized. The staff were friendly and constantly busy. Lawd!!! I have died and gone to straight crab legs heaven! While attending my brother in law Baylor University Graduation my nephew picked this "Deliciousness"! He was spot on with this one! The service was great! The facility was great and clean with plenty of parking. The food was superb! I ate in pure silence because I was so busy stuffing my face This was a great spot to meet up with other out of town family and guests.It even had a spot outside where you could feed the turtles a some many fish's! I visited this spot two evenings in a row during my visit in Waco, TX. I Iove CAJUN seafood and this spot made me love that I love cajun seafood. During my visit, I failed to take a pic of my food...and I'm not upset about it. All i can say is try it for yourself and youll see why. The food is REALLY GOOD!! The customer service assistance is quite patient, fun, and really attentive. I chose the Téjun favorite with 4 added pieces of catfish. Came here on the recommendation of several co workers. Shrimp Etouffee and Slap Daddy were ordered. The Etouffee had a mild flavor that was pleasant and satisfying. The Slap Daddy plate had a mound of shrimp and a crab cluster for a reasonable price. Both came with a medium sized red potato and a corn cobbette. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and wholesome. Bathrooms were clean. Walk up order line was fairly quick despite being busy when wife and I were ordering. The staff were patient and helpful. Strong undertones of Christian happiness. Plates are styrofoam and utensils are plastic ware, but saw several dating couples that did not seem to mind. There is a bucket at the tables for shells, husks, and food debris. This place is clean. The service is top notch. The employees are very polite. The food is A+. And when you think of that type of food in Cental Texas, it's the best of its kind. I've eaten Te'Jun for years from the food truck and it's cool to see their success. I've never had s bad experience. Anytime I have the chance to take someone visiting to something unique and delicious, I always pick this joint. This is probably the best catfish and fried shrimp I've had. The photo I am adding is just the catfish I ordered, but I had one of my fiancé's fried shrimp. The fries are good too, but they seem so unimportant when you're focusing on the quality and taste of the seafood. The hush puppies were even amazing also. Love this place. Great seasoning on the fish and the fried shrimp are great. Seasoned fries and hush puppies with just a touch of sweetness. The mushrooms are handbattered and the tea is fresh brewed. We love that they aren't afraid to share their faith here. Great place for big gathering or groups because this place is huge. The kids loved feeding the catfish & turtles, but even better was the food!!! This was our first visit so we got a combo of the catfish & fried shrimp w/fries. We also added on some sausage links & a baked potato. The kids had chicken nuggets and mac&cheese. We both liked the fried catfish, but I loved the fried shrimp. It had a great flavor & wasn't all breading. My husband loved the sausage, which was very tasty, but a tiny bit spicy hot. The baked potato didn't look impressive, but it was SOOO good. I had high hopes for this place after being hyped by family (and over 40 miles away). While the fries and hush puppies were good, the fried shrimp (and especially) the fried catfish were flavorless and had the tough/rubbery texture as though they were leftover from lunch.
