The food is simply a laughable disgrace, we ordered 3 traditional Greek items for delivery: - the Telio Hummus was decent - the Greek Spread was 1-2 tablespoon-ful of each of their 4 items. It comes in a delivery plate with a bunch of pita triangles on top of it to make it seem like the plate is more than 10% full. I wish I took a picture .. quality-wise the eggplant salad was ok, the Tyrokafteri was basically just feta puree (salty!), tzatziki and Taramosalata are better at whole foods. - the Greek Sampler, at 25$, is an indignity: see pictures attached. Their skewers (see the chicken) come with 65% onion and 35% meat. The kebab is 75% fat, in the picture you can see a piece which is actually 100% fat, yay! The pork kebab tasted like fish, it really stroke me when my pregnant wife told me (sorry I don't have a picture to back that up, maybe it had gills to tip me off...). The Keftedakia were dry and partly coated in a layer of yellow stuff that tasted as fishy as it looked. Lastly, the lamb is that sorry looking piece of shoe sole at the bottom of the plate. Bottom line, threw most of it away and now crossing fingers that I don't get sick from the fishy meat. For a good Greek in the area, try Bodrum. Unfortunately for us they do not deliver where we live now. read more

Once you come and stay, you're family. The food is always good, especially the vegetables, the Greek specialties and the fresh fish. The haloumi is delicious, try the baked feta, and the new specials with farro, quinoa, and lentils. While the place may not look like much from the outside, the food will surprise you! My experience here was mediocre at best. I was greeted at the door with a "take a seat at the bar, I don't have anything else." That put a sour taste in my mouth from the get-go, but I decided to stay and give them a chance to salvage the situation. What choice did I have? There are so few restaurant options in NYC. After getting settled at the bar, the bartender immediately greeted me and got my order. I didn't catch his name, but he was always available and helpful. As the night seemed to be getting better, the owner came waltzing out of the back in jeans, an old t-shirt and crocs. On top of looking unprofessional, he kept bothering people who were trying to read or watch the game, just to make idle conversation. Some people may enjoy this, but I think you should read body language and determine if someone actually wants your conversation. And because I didn't finish my salad (I over ordered) he asked why I didn't like it, and before I could say that I did, he had turned and walked away, seemingly insulted. Finally, the food was okay, but nothing to write home about. I had the spinach pie, horiatiki salad and lemon potatoes; all okay dishes. The bartender was the saving grace, but if you want good Greek food, there are many other places. I'm not saying this place is terrible, but I won't be back. read more

NOT SAFE FOR ALLERGIES AND THEY ARE LIARS. I ordered a cauliflower crust pizza. It arrives and is CLEARLY a regular crust pizza. (I have had the cauliflower crust here many times.) So I call, and they argue with me saying oh no don't worry our cauliflower crust varies because we order it and don't make it. So I don't eat this pizza and get something else to eat in case. Next day to see I go there and order the cauliflower pizza, it is the exact way thin crust and all that it has been every other time. Therefore, they lied and put me at risk of an allergic reaction to gluten. Regardless, the lie and insistence of the lie is unacceptable. I am VERY angry and will never return to this TRASH establishment. read more

Located in an ideal location on the Upper west Side with numerous menu options, this restaurant seems like it would be a solid choice. Unfortunately, while the food is solid the wait service is rude and inefficient. I will say I have seen them be quite friendly to "regulars", but they're always resentful when our 2 year old came to dinner with us (on more than one occasion - I know, why go back, but I thought we'd give it another try) and this is the UWS people-kids are part of life here, they take forever to get us drinks, and getting food or our check is impossible. I just wished they'd realize if they improved their customer service they'd have a lot more "regulars". read more

What's with the French fries? Soggy, greasy. Really maybe the worst in New York. Even the kids won't eat them. Salads are ok. But I wish this place would improve its kitchen as it has a nice neighborhood feel to it. read more

Really lovely neighborhood place. I'm partial to the Greek part of the menu rather than the Italian, but you really can't go wrong. They do an incredible branzino, and if they're offering the turkey stuffed cabbage special, give it a try - there is something ridiculously good about the potatoes. I really recommend this place. Great service, wide variety menu, and great food. Many Greek food but not to worry that have an oven brick pizza menu, because there is a pizza place attached to the restaurant. The octopus appetizer is divine, great flavors. The margarita pizza is pretty good I would have liked the crust to be thinner, and less soggy but great flavor. The meet platter has lots of meat and vegetable, make sure you specify how you want your meet made because it's a lot and you want to enjoy!! read more

After studying abroad in the Greek isles I have been dying for good authentic Greek food and this place fell just shy of that. Don't get my wrong, it was still very good... but it wasn't perfect. The dolmadaki and the moussaka were good, I recommend. But it was disappointing that they didn't serve Raki and that they didn't fill the gyro with fries like they do in Greece. read more

The Greek fries were better at many other places-seemed like they just put pepper and cheese on top. The overall taste of gyro was decent, as sauce was good, and the chicken and broccoli was ok, too. Overdue review - been here multiple times. As a greek, the food is very good and authentic. The fries strike a paritulcar cord with me..i love the oregano and pepper that they lather on. They chicken is always tender and the gyro platter comes piled-on with french fries. grab yourself some nice chilled house wine and you are sitting right on Broadway, doing some people-watching. also free bread. and very good bread. read more

One of the goto Mediterranean restaurants in the neighborhood. Service can be slow... but that's because its kitchen doubles as a pizza joint (a good pizza, btw) and can get slammed when the delivery orders are high. But for dinner, its still a great place to go for grilled calamari (or octopus), spinach pie, gyro platters, and a pretty decent sangria. The Upper West Side obviously has a lot more to offer than what Telio is giving up, but seriously they're conveniently located right on the Broadway strip near the gym, fruit stands, Walgreens, etc.. We had grilled octopus, prawn salad, and pizza. The pita is nice and think which means there's more meat on the sandwich. A really extensive menu of Greek and Italian dishes and the food is really great! I got a Gyro platter and it was awesome. The portions are very generous and for pretty decent prices. It's a pretty casual spot, we were lucky to be able to enjoy their outdoor seating during the summer - it's under a canopy which was nice because we had a few bouts of light drizzle. My only complaint was that they never brought me my extra side of tzatziki but I'll let it slide. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and we had a really nice experience here. read more

Delicious food, pleasant staff. Came here on a Sunday evening, it was busy but not too packed. Nice ambiance. Family types and older couples. We had the Greek dips and pita, very tasty and enough to feed 3 or more. I had the shrimp and scallops which were divine, very large serving and nice garnish. The waiters were attentive, constantly refilled water which helps. Spent about $80 for an appetizer and two mains and one alcoholic drink each. Will come again. read more

Seafood was terrible. Went for the first time a few weeks ago as I was in the mood for some fresh grilled fish. I ordered the grilled whole Branzino and right off the bat I could tell it was not fresh. Once server brought fish to the table it had a fishy smell and also tasted spoiled. Half the fish was OK to eat but left the spoiled half. I rarely complain as I hate being that customer. 3 days ago I decided to give Telios another shot, this time ordering delivery. I ordered steamed mussels, chicken souvlaki and baklava. The mussels were horrible. They had a very strong smell once I opened lid. I tried one and threw them away. They were very bad and shocked they served this. Clearly no one in the kitchen cares of what is being served. The chicken souvlaki was fine, but hard to mess up grilled chicken and rice. Baklava was sub par, filo dough was very soggy. Not very impressed, maybe other items on menu are good, but I was turned away from the bad seafood and will not be going back read more

The best avogolemon soup I've ever had. Only had delivery so I can't vouch for ambience or anything else, but their food is excellent.

Admittedly, you don't want to come here if you're in a hurry, but the food was plentiful, tasty, and reasonably priced. The waiters were very nice, and I think the wait time was because things are prepared fresh. My friend tried the salad with salmon--the salad was fresh and the salmon was perfectly grilled. I had the gyros plate--great battered fries (yum) and a big Greek salad along with the pita and a huge pile of meat. Honestly, for $13, it was a great bargain. We liked the first meal so much we returned and shared a large greek salad and meat lasagna. Really tasty, with lots of seasoned meat in the lasagna. I'm planning a return trip to the restaurant the next time I'm in NYC. It's one of my favorites. read more
