Golf: awful pace of play, on hole 7 after TWO HOURS! Pace of play is killing the game, we won't play here again

Had not been here in years but had good memories. The staff was lovely. The hotel was beyond disappointing and not worth the price even with a black Friday discount. The room was not clean. baseboards in the bathroom felt like they were water damaged causing the room to smell like mildew. The tub was gross. old, stained and clogged while showering. The bed felt more like a trampoline than a mattress. No extra pillows, towels or blankets. The brunch from their own restaurant was delicious which was a plus. Overall, very very disappointing, especially for the price. Wish I checked Yelp before I booked. read more

Earlier this week, I stayed here for two nights during a work related retreat. Check in was fast, although my 10 AM arrival time and I was going to pre-check in, and receive my room in the afternoon. No big deal, as our group was going to get a round of golf in on their beautiful course. The staff at the pro shop was very helpful, even giving me a small bucket of balls on the house because I was staying at the hotel. The driving range, putting green, in the course itself you're all well-maintained, with beautiful views of the surrounding area. Even the perpetual freeway noise was mitigated by the beauty of the area: granite boulders blended into the chaparral covered hillsides in every direction. We started on the Stonehouse nine, and then moved to the front; candidly, the first nine was a much harder course, and the wind did not make it any easier. Glen, The starter, gave us some great tips on playing the course... All of them were very helpful and true. Yes Glen, I clubbed up 3 on the sixth hole, and stuck the green. After our round, I checked into my room and found it to be well appointed. I stayed on the third floor, and had a small balcony overlooking the course. Very pretty view, even for a golf course. There were some signs of vintage/age at this place, but it was clean and nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Flatscreen TV mounted on the wall nice and high, and HBO were good. Our business today included breakfast and lunch, as well as meeting room facilities. All of these were great, with the exception of breakfast... scrambled eggs, cold bacon and colder sausage were sort of bleh, but five stars on the fresh fruit plate... I have never seen blackberries that big. During our stay, we also had a barbecue dinner at the Stone House... well usually reserved for weddings, this picturesque facility made for a very memorable dinner with our colleagues. The swimming pool and hot tub were also pretty nice, although we could not get the bubbles working in the Jacuzzi. No matter, it was still a nice way to end the day after a round of golf and a satellite day at the office. Overall, I would certainly stay here again... how though honestly, I'm more of a social golfer, and for the price, would just assume stay closer to the ocean. That's nothing on this place, just personal preferences... But if playing a challenging course is your thing, then this is definitely is a pretty nice spot to ruin a good walk. :) read more

I've stayed at Temecula Creek in several times before, both for business and pleasure. All of my experiences have been positive except for our current stay. I'll start with the good. The location is beautiful! For those that may like to golf the course looks well kept and in great condition. We also had dinner at the restaurant on site, Cork Fire Kitchen, and it was absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the scallops and my wife had a salad. We also ordered the creme brûlée and the apple cobbler and they were both amazing! Our room had a great view from the balcony overlooking the golf course. Staff was friendly and helpful when they were able to help for the most part. There was also a Kurig and coffee available in the room! There is much room for improvement here. First, the rooms need some upgrades. The technology in the room needs major help. There are few outlets around the night stands so you'll have to charge your tech on the table away from the bed. The TV sporadically worked. Some channels didn't work. When I called to inquire they shared that they were changing providers and that's why some channels didn't work? Not all channels were HD. The TV would cut in and out and a "no signal" would pop up. The phones in the room could also use some updating. None of the buttons for specific locations worked, so anytime I had an issue I had to press 0 and then get transferred to the appropriate location. No big deal, but just another opportunity for growth. The decor in the room could also use some upgrading. There were stains on the carpet and it just looked a bit beat up. Furniture was okay. The bed was average. We got the "Romance Package". So there were several items we got. However, nothing was explained to me at check in, so I had to call several times to inquire about what we were supposed to get. The package allowed us for an upgrade if available. When I inquired about the upgrade they shared they didn't have any available because of a wedding. When we woke up the next morning I noticed not very many cars in the parking lots so it did seem a little odd. I also asked for an early check in but said they didn't have any rooms available. I understood, but most resorts I've stayed will ask me to see if I'd like a phone call as soon as a room became available, they did not. I believe that communication is important at hotel, especially if there is going to be construction. This morning we got woken up to banging on the roof of our room. We got no warning. We got no call. There was nothing on the website of possible construction. I called to let the front desk know after I had to be transferred there because none of the buttons work on the phone, only to be told they'd let the manager know. 1 hour later there is still banging on our roof. Most of my experiences here have been wonderful, but with so many options of where to stay, it only takes one really negative experience to keep me away. Not sure if I'll ever come back. read more

I am shocked to see low ratings. I just did a 5 day event and all the staff was amazing. The rooms, front desk, grounds crew, food, golf, pro shop were all 5 star. Their attention to detail was great. I would plan another event here any day. Diane and Patricia were top notch. From the second we arrived they were in top of everything. Absolutely not worth the price. Grounds are beautiful and it ends there. Facilities are run down and much in need of upgrading. We paid over $800 for two nights to stay in a two double bed room with stained carpet and an outdated bath. It looks like they tried to put a band-aid on a wound in need of sutures. Exterior doors and buildings needed help, bathroom was an old tub with a loud shower head. There was vinyl plank flooring in the bath and old, stained carpet in the sleeping area. Why not replace the carpeting with the flooring too? The slider door was old and sticking. View of golf course was nice but landscaping needed help. Outdoor chairs needed replacement. Pool was outdated and small. A/C did work well which was a plus. The property could easily be a quaint old money hotel and justify the prices they are charging with upgrades but currently lacks in many areas. Kind of sad. read more

This may be the most fun golf course you can play, but the worst hotel in Temecula. We booked based upon having a Mothersday weekend. They addded $200 for "resort fee" and then we find out there is no pool usage. Instead of having clean accomodations we get a room that we had to clean up ourselves, 1 styrofoam coffe cup to use with the Keurig coffee maker, no stir sticks, no creamer, and 1 packet of sugar. Their idea of accomodating our needs was to invite us to cancel and not be charged second night. Go stay elsewhere. restaurant was pretty good, golf course great, the hotel side of the business sucks I would give negative stars if possible. read more

For the price we paid for this hotel is ridiculous... Our room was hot and they brought us a fan and blamed the high ceiling for the reason why it's not staying cool in our room. And our sink on 1 side isn't draining... Also my mother in law were staying in the next building and that room smelt like dog piss, and they had send a carpet cleaner to get the smell out. This place has its pros and its cons. Let's start with cons No Microwave it is so convenient to have one. The shower Valve sucks its ethier to hot or to cold. It would be nice in the winter days when coming out of the shower there would b a heater in the restroom... Another thing the doors... Although Temecula Creek Inn is located in a beautiful location, the rooms are in dire need of updating. We ended up switching rooms to get a second floor room near the restaurant to have the nicest view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You're able to text the front desk for anything you need which is nice. After asking for extra towels each night prior to checking in, I had to text to repeat the request the first 3 nights of our stay. The thermostats are such that you need to have someone come to the room to manually make a switch to heat (which we needed one evening) and then of course, it has to be reset for AC - extremely inconvenient. We had two meals at the Cork Fire which were quite good. I heard from some locals that TCI was in the process of updating rooms. I'm not sure if this is true, but until they are refreshed, I would most likely opt to stay elsewhere the next time we're in town. read more

Very nice stay for a good price! The top story rooms don't have a balcony, but the bottom story rooms have a nice patio. The rooms were huge! The bathroom was also very nice. The only difficulty I had was using the shower. Also, I wish they used a fitted sheet on the beds, but other than that, everything was great! read more

We stayed at this hotel for one night. As we were going to a friend's wedding the staff let us check in early, but with the option being one of the lower level rooms (we had booked something else). This was an issue the following morning when at 8am a golf tournament teed off outside of our bedroom, with a large crowd in attendance. We weren't warned about it. The next issue we had was the noisy beds of the guests in the room above, they were having lots of fun all night. The bigger issue came after check out, when upon realising we had left an item of clothing behind, we called within a couple of hours and then filled out the web form. After many days/weeks of them looking for the item, it was declared lost. Even though it was left on a chair and only housekeeping had access to the room after. It managing to get lost from our leaving to housekeeping coming in was a head scratcher. The last issue was the food in the restaurant. It was not good. All in all, unless you like golf tournaments waking you up outside of your bedroom, clothes being lost to all, guests above making the most of their nights, and bad food, I'd give this one a miss. read more

I planned my sister's birthday weekend here. I wanted her to relax and enjoy the scenery. We both had some work to do and brought our laptops. It's very quiet here so that worked out perfectly. Some would call this a boutique hotel, meaning it had a theme. The theme is a camp style getaway. With that in mind, there is no need to worry about the bad reviews, saying that the rooms are old and run down. That is not the case at all. Our room was great! Front desk staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious and has a patio with a great view. I love the fountain and there is a very family friendly pool. We came back to the room on day 2 to find a complimentary bottle of wine with a birthday card! That was a very beautiful surprise. The food is also fantastic. They feature Cork Fire Kitchen (review posted) which has great food, great ambience , and great staff. If you are looking to get away from the city, relax, regain your focus, or just simply escape your busy life, this is the place to be. Temecula Creek Inn staff - great job and keep it up! You have a beautiful establishment that accommodates everyone. If you haven't already, I suggest that your marketing staff focuses on ads for church outings, marriage retreats, and church conferences. This place is perfect. We used to have a young adult conference at Arrowhead springs every year, and TCI would've been much nicer. I'm sure you would have to add bunk beds like the others but regardless, TCI is much more peaceful and beautiful. Again, great job! read more

(Note- I waited a full week after I filled out a survey evaluation before I published this review. There was no response.) The mark of any outstanding business is how they react when things aren't going well. When things are going well, at say a resort where the room rate is North of $200, you expect everyone to be courteous, perceptive, professional, and responsive to the customers. When things are not going so well, in my mind what distinguishes a business is how they respond to lapses in service or systems. Yes the grounds are gorgeous, and our room was very nice, just be aware that the resort has four builldings with the hotel rooms, and they are kind of spread out. There is no elevator to the second floor. If you have some elderly folks in your party, they may have an issue here, or you'll be chaeuffering them around. We had two big problems here. On Sunday, we were out of the room all day on a wine tour. When we returned at 6 PM, we were stunned to see the room had not yet been made up. As we were leaving for dinner, housekeeping knocked on the door and asked if we "wanted the room made up". Yes, that is 100% true. Were they busy from weddings? Was the hotel sold out? Did they have mass check-outs that day? I don't care, they should have been able to manage that need and not knock on a door at 6 PM and ask "do you want your room made up"?. Next stop was dinner at the Cork Fire Restaurant, we sat in the back right corner. The view of the golf course is beautiful. What we weren't told was there was a problem with the dining room lights, and soon our table was in pretty much pitch blackness. The candle on our table didnt do much. I couldn't see if my shrimps had a shell or not. We should have been told right up front that there was a problem. When we expressed our disatisfaction to the waiter he basically apologized and offered no remedy. When we said the same to the hostess, she did the same. No offer to get a manager, no offer for anything. We left after our meal, and passed on coffee and dessert because we were not enjoying ourselves. These are two pretty grievous problems that shouldn't be encountered at a high end facility. Otherwise, this would have been a rave 4-star review. read more

My family and I love to get away by traveling outside of our LA bubble. So we decided to come here because of the photos. It looked beautiful and was fairly close to the casino. So we choose this place. To be perfectly honest, for the place it's saying to be, it was completely dirty and not up the expectations they were promoting. We couldn't have our shoes off because if we did, our feet would be layered with dirt. The pool area had a dead water roach laying by the jacuzzi, and, this could be my privileges living in the city, but the WiFi was non existent. It was a bit outdated and smelled a little weird. Yes it's by a creek, yes it's a resort so we totally got the outdoors feel, but I feel there should be either a dramatic feel to it in order to achieve the resort environment or a distinctive cleanliness throughout the room. I usually never write reviews because I'm a person who goes with the flow but I feel like this place needed a review. Yes we did discuss with the front desk what our experience were like and they apologized. Granted this place has a view that is gorgeous, great location, amazing activities, and beautiful potential but I think if they truly invested within their rooms, then they can meet their expectations that they are advertising. I've been a resident of SW Riverside County for 26 years (Murrieta / Menifee). Turns out Temecula Creek Inn is a gem. My son, Juan, and His Bride, Ashley, picked the venue for wedding guests to stay, as well as host a bridal party dinner on Thanksgiving Day. The wedding was directly up the road apiece, at Tivoli (Fallbrook) on Nov. 25. The festivities spanned from Nov. 23-Nov. 26. The TCI grounds couldn't have been more vibrant with hues of orange, red leaves on the trees accenting a well-manicured golf course. The late afternoon, early evening dinner on the patio was elegantly set up, even with outdoor, gas heaters. The food; caesar salad, turkey, salmon, mashed potatoes (to die for), and pumpkin pie desert, coffee, tea was indescribably delicious. The diligent wait staff ensured guests' needs were satisfied. There was music (a guitarist), a festive vibe, banter among the young and old guests (around 50 people +-) and open air, evening celebration I won't soon forget. I arrived early (4P) to take photos of the adjacent golf course and a garden filled with sunflowers. Such joy! My room was BIG and comfy. A welcomed retreat for such wonderful guests! read more

Old rustic and romantic atmosphere with rooms that were very clean but a bit outdated. My room had a dial thermostat that was difficult to set a room temperature besides hot or cold, the refrigerator never got cold for my waters and the bathroom doors swung open on its own, assuming it was not square not haunted! The golf course was nicely taken care of and the lounge and restaurant was pretty nice with some great food. My wife and I stayed at Temecula Creek inn, / was very disappointed we were in room 155 by the golf course and it looks like they use recondition Motel six furniture - They have a nice size TV in the room the credenza underneath the TV is scratched /chipped in dirty / The roller chair by the desk was scratched ripped you can see the foam on the seat , The wife and I have been going to this place for the past 15 years , stay and play golf I would consider perhaps they are having a facelift take place soon, ( we enjoy going there because of the people / staff is very helpful ,courteous and polite) The Cork fire restaurant , The food is very tasty ,they give you very small portions (don't be stingy with the food) they need to increase the volume of things you can order on the menu. The golf course- Nice new golf carts ( New rules senior citizens / customers cannot take their golf carts to their car to pick up or drop off their bags/clubs , When I asked they said it was a liability to have the carts being driven by Customers in the parking area , I think the liability will be when the senior citizens walking down the stairs with his clubs an accident waiting to happen .. replace the practice mats - all ripped "Perhaps" see you next year? read more

What an awesome place! We stayed over the 4th and enjoyed every minute. Amazing staff and clean rooms and grounds. We watched the fireworks from our balcony and it was fantastic. The Gold Course is very well maintained and we hiked the loop and walked on the course in the evening. The restaurant on site is top shelf. Great staff , great food, and ambiance! We thank you for a nice relaxing time as we are now back in Palm Desert and wow muy caliente! The temps in Temecula are great and what a wonderful town. Front Street was a blast as well. We came here for what we thought would be our dream wedding at the Stone House on 9/25. My fiancee had booked us 5 nights and we were promised a bridal suite when we booked and planned our wedding. Well to start we did not get a bridal suite we got a crappy dated and dark room along Rainbow Canyon Rd with cars going by all day and night. The swamp cooler of an air conditioner was extremely loud and with the cars making noise we never got a decent nights sleep the entire trip. Our catering manager Nichelle who said she would be there for us if we had any problems was nowhere to be found. We asked to be moved another room and were refused despite the hotel looking half empty. The morning before our wedding we asked if housekeeping could clean up our room and sheets since we were getting married the next day they refused! Our wedding itself was great but that mostly because of our vendors we hired outside of TCI and the venue did look nice. The real thing that broke us was the day after the wedding our maid of honor wished to stay another night with us. She tried to book her room or another and was refused. The staff said the hotel was fully booked, well I attached a photo of the parking lot from that afternoon and this hardly looks booked. More of ghost town and we were told the restaurant was closed to us for the day as well as room service. In all, we did have a nice wedding but if you are thinking about getting married here look elsewhere or certainly don't stay here. Also, read the fine print on the contract because we were charged for thousands in hidden fees. In all, we gave TCI over $30,000 for this wedding not including what we paid our vendors. If you do get married here. Don't stay at the hotel it is for the most part a dump with exception of building 1 and the restaurant. To date the staff has done nothing to compensate us or even offer an apology. read more

Secondly for the price we pay to stay at this hotel they should have a better cleaning procedures. My husband and I got married at TCI a year ago. We stayed one night so didn't pay much attention to the room. We received a Valentine's Day deal this year so we decided to go back and stay a few nights. While the grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are not. It's disappointing to know that Pechanga owns this hotel. There is NO way they would let their rooms at the casino look like the ones at TCI. The bathroom looked like there had been a war. The door was all banged up and it looked like there was mold or at least pretty bad water damage in the shower. For the Valentine's package, we were offered 3 desserts. They were all cherry or raspberry flavored and not that tasty. There is nothing wrong with those flavors but you would think since these desserts are offered to everyone who got the package, you would be pretty basic. A brownie and good chocolate chip cookie would be been better than what we received. The package also came with breakfast in bed. The information we got in our welcome letter said "up to an $80 value off the brunch menu." When I called, they had it all planned out. Pick one option from this, pick from these options and pick from these two drinks. Was hoping coffee would be offered but no substitutions on the bloody mary or mimosa that was offered. We ordered special coffee drinks separately and even though they were delivering our breakfast, we still had a delivery fee. Coffee came out to $21! Nope! Sadly, after staying here, my husband and I felt horrible for all the guests that stayed there for our wedding! read more

We got married here Saturday 10/29/22 and the wedding and catering services at TCI were fantastic!!! This review is primarily for the hotel. On top of what we already paid for the wedding (~$30k food/beverage- not including vendors) we also offered a room block option for our guests out of convenience. The price you pay for a room at TCI clearly do not match the hotel room standards. We paid 4 star rates for a 2.5-3 star hotel. The rooms are rundown and seems like they haven't had a renovation in over 20 years. During COVID, many resorts took the time to upgrade/refresh their rooms since there was little travel permitted. We booked an extra room in addition to our comped newlywed "suite" and requested late check out for the spare room for our groomsmen to get ready in. We arrive on a Friday, and our wedding suite isn't ready- the hotel receptionist says he'll text me when the suite becomes ready. 6PM rolls around and I haven't received a text- I try to use the phone in room to dial the front desk but the direct front desk extension doesn't work! Upon completing my rehearsal, I had to walk to the front desk to check in for my suite- no one ever notified me. Saturday was the day of wedding and we're told there's no late check out available. The groomsmen are out at golf and there's no room for them to get ready in. We were forced to check out of the grooms room right at 11 even though I wanted purchase two nights initially. It was interesting to be booted out of our room so quickly considering our room on Friday night wasn't ready until 6:30 PM. I loved getting married at this resort but I would highly urge against reserving a room block for your guests. They're better off at Pechanga down the street. After spending over $30k on a wedding, reserving 12 slots on their golf course, and having our guests book over 20 nights at this resort, we were hoping for better treatment as a couple getting married on the resort- all we wanted was a simple late check out for one room and this whole review and headache during the morning of the wedding could've been avoided. read more

For the price we paid this room and absence of amenities was absnot worth it. Only benefit was the view. A king deluxe room with only a mini fridge. A Keurig without k-cups. No microwave. A smart tv with Netflix and Amazon options but the selections do not work. Our shower would take 20 minutes to get hot. Room service menu was only on the television moving quickly making it difficult to view. Trash was under our bed from previous guests. No robes, the sheets and duvet were thin. This is advertised as a luxurious stay although it is lacking everything of luxury. Room is outdated and this inn is in need of a major facelift. I would not recommend staying here for the price and what you're getting from an establishment. Save your money, there is plenty of other options to stay in Temecula. read more

Impressive little getaway for some golf and r&r. The rooms are larger than average and the golf course views in the morning are more than pleasant. These might not be the nicest furnished rooms you have seen, but they are clean and well maintained. Overall, there are not too many places in Temecula that can provide this level of quality and service. I had a great time here and I look forward to visiting again. Went to the TCI restaurant for Mother's Day. We were SO disappointed. We all ordered burgers and they were like burgers they picked up from Jack n the box. Very cheap tasting and looking. When we walked in the restaurant was practically empty so we asked for a table by the window but they said those tables were reserved. We finished the meal and most of the tables still hadn't been occupied. Someone also kept dropping dishes in the back. Wish my mom would have had a better experience. Never again read more

I stayed here for a beautiful wedding on the property and this hotel is awesome! Customer service was great - I love the text feature for any questions I had with the front desk. Check in/our was extremely easy. The entire staff on the property was very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are very spacious and clean. I also loved the shuttle service they had for guests to the wedding venue from the parking lot. Highly recommend staying here! The golf courses were beautiful as well read more

They charged me 45 dollars for a six dollar bottle of cheap Chardonnay. For being in wine country what a joke! I was shocked when I looked up the price and shocked when they taxed almost 15 bucks on their listed price! Look at this! I know times are tough but what a complete and total rip off. read more

Ah the photos look way better than the actual hotel. There restaurant isn't great either. I wouldn't stay here again. Not horrible just an average 3 stars nothing better. read more

Excellent customer service!! -smooth check in -restaurant, Cork Fire for breakfast was wonderful! Great mimosa, IPA their coffee , French toast options scrumptious!!! -lunch appetizers delish!! Brussels, ahi, calamari! -our servers, Dottie and Jacob were outstanding! -grounds are so nice to lounge around in and just relax in such a peaceful atmosphere! -requested extra lounge chairs for patio and had them within minutes. -rooms are pretty outdated but the view makes up for them.
