If It's Time For The Farmers Market, That Means Coffee!! SITREP I've been better about getting out of my comfort zone - ie. grocery stores - and proactively checking the local farmers markets on various different days to *refresh* my refrigerator-crisper drawers with fresh product. So, getting me outta the house means finding new habits! THE SETUP So, of course, the FIRST habit, as mentioned, is getting fresh produce on a more regular basis at the Midtown Saturday Farmers Market! But there was now a SECOND, at first unanticipated habit that revealed itself: getting to stop by one of my most favorite coffee spots on a more regular weekly basis: Temple Coffee @ 22nd & K Streets! (Harps Play! Angels Sing! Coffee Pours!) CLOSE-PROXIMITY! One of the advantages of being a business close by the six (6)-block-long Midtown Saturday Farmers Market (mostly North-South along 20th St. between I & L Streets, but also spilling out a block on either). That means Temple is literally only a block down on an East-axis from the Market along K St. - my chosen walk home! CRUISING THROUGH (THE STRAITS OF) GIBRALTAR! So now I get to enjoy Temple's Gibraltar as I sit for a spell, catching my breath, gazing upon my take of fresh veggies and catch conversations with people I just met or cross paths with an old friend. THE LOWDOWN Does this mean I'm getting more religious?!? Because I seem to be stopping by the "TEMPLE" on a more regular basis! :D

what a fun little coffee shop to do work. Lots of vibes. Had a different aesthetic than your typical coffee shop. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by my drink. I got an iced vanilla latte, but was trying to be healthy so I got nonfat milk. I think I should've just stuck with the full fat milk. So I guess that's not totally on them. My food choices, however, were amazing and they are the main reason for this high of a rating. They had so many food options. I couldn't make a decision, so I got a sweet and savory option. For my sweet option, I went with the raspberry cream cheese danish. I love a danish. My mom used to make them when I was younger, so I think they're also nostalgic for me. This one was excellent. There was some sugar that had caramelized on the top that was scrumptious. For my savory option, I went with the seasonal veggie scone that had mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, and IDK what else? This was so moist and flavorful. I think if you can do a good scone, then generally the rest of your baked goods on fire as well. Overall, I'd like to go back here and try a different drink. And I will definitely be going back for their baked goods. the staff was friendly and kind and super speedy.

I've been here many times and realize I never left a review. This Temple Coffee location is beautiful and so iconic. The floors are covered in pennies and the tall ceiling is so open and nice. The line might be long be it does move rather fast. While waiting I sampled their new drip coffee it was tasty. For my drink I got a cappuccino. It came with beautiful coffee art and tastes really good. Service is efficient. Staff are nice and knowledgeable. I love coming here when I'm in the area!

Recently discovered this location. The largest one I've been to so plenty of seating options including outdoors. They're much busier than the other locations with line wrapped outside. Street parking that can be hard to find on busy days. Drinks are always delicious and so are their baked goods.

Located in the middle of Midtown, this coffee shop has a nice balance between modern design and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It's a great option if you're staying or living nearby and want something more local than chain coffee. I visited mid-morning on a cool and overcast weekday. It was quite busy and seating can be competitive, but there's some outdoor overflow seating if you don't mind the weather. I ordered a large Mexican Mocha for here, and it was fantastic. It was smooth and well-balanced; the chocolate was rich and the spices weren't too overpowering. Despite the crowd, service was genuinely friendly and efficient. My drink was ready in about five minutes, which was impressive given how packed it was. Overall, this is a reliable coffee stop that I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.

The coffee was pretty good here, but what really sold me was the Banana Chocolate Chip Bread slice. It made me think about buying more slices, but the inside is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye and has a nice vibe to it. Very relaxing and a great place to socialize or study at. The staff had good customer service with the barista providing us with recommendations and popular orders.

Definitely my go to coffee shop when I'm visiting Sacramento. Today I ordered the Golden Hour which had an apricot and basil syrup with a creamy cold foam on top (super delicious). The vibe of this place is always awesome and the barista was great! Definitely recommend this spot.

Seating can be filled up indoors, but there's also seating outdoors which is nice on pleasant days. Being in sunny California, there are plenty of days where those outdoor spots can be used. If cold or wet, spots can be filled up quick. Vibes are nice, and has a modern and upscale feel. Wifi is free and was fast enough for browsing web pages. Staff were cool as well. Got a Thai iced tea, and it was ok. I've had better; in fact, I had just come back from Asia where I got plenty of it there. I have a sense that coffee is better than the order I made.

Temple Coffee Roasters is a great spot with an excellent atmosphere. The vibes are welcoming and relaxing, making it a perfect place to sit, enjoy a cup of coffee, and catch up or work. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful, which really adds to the overall experience. My coffee was a little bitter at first, and when I mentioned it, the staff kindly remade it for me. It was still a bit on the bitter side, but I drank it anyway and still enjoyed my visit. The café is clean and well maintained, and the overall environment is comfortable and inviting. Despite the minor issue with my coffee, I would still recommend Temple Coffee Roasters for anyone looking for a quality coffee experience in a great setting.

I came here on a weekday morning, and there were plenty of people using the spacious cafe to work. I tried a regular hot latte. It was smooth, rich, and had a good balanced flavor and milk that was steamed nicely. The space itself is warm and comforting, and the staff were friendly and cheerful for a gloomy Sacramento morning!

First coffee shop visit of 2026 and I had to go with Temple! I have been to a few of their other locations but this location takes the win in terms of coziness. I'm a cold brew type of person and I always look forward to getting a cold brew from Temple knowing how smooth their's is. I came at a perfect time as well because after I ordered my drink there ended up being a line formed to the door so it was nice to get a head start.

While waiting for our table at Morning Fork, I realized that I hadn't had any coffee. We saw a couple sitting at one of the benches outside and they had coffee. I asked if it was close by. They said, "around the corner" - the best three minute walk result I've made in a while. It reminds me of if the Apple Store and Pete's Coffee merged- they would create Temple Coffee Roasters. Service was impressive. They offer a lot of different coffee options as well as espresso drinks made with tonic. I will have to try that next time. I opted for their drip coffee. The blend was very well flavored, didn't require much cream or sugar, and it definitely hit the spot. The Kid ordered the Mexican hot chocolate with whipped cream. She said it was very good as well. Sacramento Midtown is such a gem. There's something special just about every place you go.

The iced mocha is delicious. Not syrupy or overly sweet but balanced between coffee and chocolate flavor. Opted for 2% milk instead of whole, add whip cream (which was homemade). The blackberry chocolate donut was not very good. Very cakey which would have been fine if it was flavorful but somehow the chocolate was muted and the blackberry was neither tart or sweet. Overall a vibe, and great proximity to the farmers market on weekends, big crowd.

Hi there, are there any power outlets for laptops here? Thanks!

Hello, Yes! We do have multiple power outlets available for use at our seats nearest to the front…

Do they offer to heat up pastry that they sell?

Unfortunately, we are unable to heat up the pastries at the cafes.

Just double checking, does the bliss tea have diary? I wasn't sure if it was flavored with soy and coconut and also included a dairy milk. I hope not! Thanks.

The bliss tea is made with coconut milk and honey steamed soy milk. There are no dairy products in the beverage. We offer almond milk, soy milk, and oat milk as dairy substitutes.

Can I host an event here for about 15-20 people?

    Why don't you call them?

    Is the shop pet friendly?

Thank you for the question, G A. We love friendly pets of all shapes and sizes! With the exception of service animals, we do not allow pets inside of our cafes for health code reasons, however all of our cafes do have outdoor seating where your pet…

How's the parking here? I meet with a few car guys and we're looking for different coffee shops to meet up. Thanks ahead of time and Happy New Year!

Hi Ed, Happy New Year and thank you for your question! All of the parking around our cafe is street parking with most of it being free 2 hour parking from 8am-10pm. There is some meter parking as well. It is usually not a problem to find parking…

Once I entered, I could see why there were so many people trickling in, they had so many drinks I wanted to try! But I went with the banana matcha and vietnamese egg coffee. Both were delicious. I'm not in Sac much but if I were to come by this way more often, this would definitely be a place I'd pop into each time as part of the itinerary. We recently stopped by Cafe La Vies and ended up having such a fun experience…read more I ordered the banana matcha, which was absolutely delicious. The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.
