Chicken noodle soup- served hot & delicious!
    Jenn A.

Food was served fresh and hot. The chicken noodle soup was delicious and perfect for the chilly weather. I was a bit disappointed with the menu limitations, but was able to find a selection which was satisfactory and filling. Staff service was efficient without hovering. She was prompt, attentive and professional. We were impressed by how efficient she was in communicating the drink and vegetable options which were not listed on the print menu. (This however may make ordering difficult for those who require visual supports, hearing impaired or are not auditory learners.) The meal itself (Turkey with filling, gravy and a side) was average, as expected. I have had similar meals elsewhere of both superior and subpar quality. This would fall with midrange. The raspberry tea was said to be delicious. I selected the cranberry juice which was quite tart but flavorful. Host/hostess interactions were seemingly guarded and not as hospitable as one might expect from a greeter and check out process. I'd be happy to visit again in the future to provide another opportunity to increase the quality rating from average to good/great.

You cannot determine the freshness and since it's cooked along side other fare, it can pick up some unwanted flavor.

Burrata Fritta is a generous sized and tasty fried cheese appetizer but, it only came with two small pieces of crustini so you'll end up eating most of it with a fork. Seared scallops tasted excellent as well but there was only 3 and they were the size of a 50 cent coin and about 3/8 of an inch thick. They were served over a generous bed of seasoned peas but, you are buying the scallops not the peas. Like I mentioned before, food tasted excellent there just could have been a little more thought out into appetizer creation. Entrees we selected were a just satisfying portion size and tasted excellent as well. We usually like to take home some of our main entrees for a later small meal but we ended up eating them both in restaurant. One thing important to note of importance to local diners is that entrees do not come with sides or salads. They must be ordered separately. Portions could have been maybe 8% to 10% bigger. I am not complaining but rather suggesting. I will definitely go back again to try some of the other entrees offered.

I like Wayback because customizations go beyond adding mainstays like lettuce, tomato, and onion. It still boggles my mind that all the fast food giants still nickel and dime you for those three basic toppings. So yeah, props to the casual burger chains that still offer these up for free. And like Five Guys, you can add "premium" toppings like jalapenos, grilled onions, and mushrooms at no additional charge as well. In addition to burgers and fries, Wayback serves up chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried cheese curds. I was also impressed by the interior. It's pretty sleek with this sort of retro, wood-panel aesthetic to it. Wayback Burgers fits snuggly between, let's say the Burger Kings of the world and the boutique joints like Five Guys and Shake Shack. The only thing holding it back is quality and consistency. I remember my burger patties being dry to the point of breaking down and crumbling. This probably has to do with the fact that the patties seemed noticeably... small? Like 3 oz., tops. Maybe I'm imagining it but that's sure what it felt like. Getting a double here is basically a must.
