I was super excited to hear about a new ramen spot in town I had to come on the opening day!! The place itself is nice, I really liked the wall background. We had a coupon for a free appetizer with our order and we ordered the Takoyaki. It was decent but the takoyaki sauce tasted like ketchup so I wasn't a fan of that. I ordered the Tengu tonkatsu ramen and I was honestly disappointed with the broth because it was bland BUTTTT I added chili oil and soy sauce and it was a lot richer and made it delicious. The noodles in this ramen were very thin and they vary based on the ramen you order. The chasu pork was thick and juicy. Overall it was good, I would love to come another time. UPDATE 6/29/19 I came back...I had the miso ramen and it was delicious. I added chili oil and soy sauce again super good!! We ordered the dumplings and they were pretty good especially with the dipping sauce. In addition, we had stupendous service. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. This review comes after a second visit within less than a month (yeah it's good). I've been to several ramen places in Bakersfield and I would have to say this would be my go to (Kamisama [mehh], O Ramen [just alright], Re-mix [great quality, but pricey]). The service is great, place is clean and food was really good. Service - The restaurant is not that big (commercial building, next to Jamba Juice) so staff is small (2 waiters, 2 chefs, 1 in back). Although they are small, the wait staff was very attentive and polite. The space may not be ideal for big parties, and they do offer take-away. Food - In my opinion, this ramen joint would be up there with the ones I've tried in L.A., just to give you a comparison. So the first time I came I had the Chashu (pork) Ramen, the amount of Chashu you get is plenty compared to other places in Bakersfield. This time, I got the chicken which had a good amount of chicken as well. They do have seafood, vegetable, and spicy options available. The main reason why I favor this place is the type of noodles. It doesn't taste like the cheap kind, and you have a choice between thick or thin. I do not like noodles that are over cooked and mushy, and this place cooks it just the way I like it. Presentation is on point with green onion, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and of course an egg. They also offer a variety of rice bowls and appetizers. Soft drinks are available in a can with ice, and plenty of Japanese alcoholic beverages. Hopefully you will give this place a try! read more

Enough is enough! I have driven by too many times. Idk why it wasn't crowded when I came in but that meant faster cook times for my order! I went with one of their craft beers from Japan and it tastes the same as it did when I was in Japan. (It's probably because it's bottled but let me live in my little world ok?) Vegetable croque was selected as my appetizer because I am starving and can't wait the extra 3 minutes for ramen to come out. Even though I was able to see the chef pull it out of the fryer and plate the dish and seconds later it was delivered to me I didn't think it would be that hot. Oof! Had to give it a second and pour myself some more of their beer (which was huge btw!) The spicy ramen wasn't too spicy but there are condiments on the table to make it as spicy as you please. I also put some of the chili oil on the croque because I like my mouth to burn. If I wasn't stuffed to the brim and if I didn't have a race this weekend I would have gotten one of their deserts! We've been pretty regular since we found this place a few weeks ago. Always have had a great experience from beginning to end. Tonight was a different experience... our waitress was extremely rude, we asked for take out containers and she brought us small ones, we asked for the bigger ones like we'd had in the past and she said she couldn't give us the bigger ones. My husband who has had gastric sleeve surgery doesn't eat a lot and myself even had a lot of soup left. When we both said ours will not fit she came back with the bigger container my husband said he likes to put his rice in the soup and she said "oh don't do that" who is she to tell us how to eat our meal that we are paying for. When she brought the check we had to ask for another container because she brought my daughter a small square container for her curried pork which has rice and a lot of sauce and the spam musubi wouldn't fit. Then we had to ask for a 2nd bag for all of the containers and she just had an attitude and I said we didn't have this much trouble getting take out containers last time she said "well you got them didn't you" I was taken by surprise that she was so rude. I'm paying $86 dollars for food there should be absolutely no reason to deny me the proper container to take my leftovers home and yes including the rice we put in our ramen. According to the receipt her name is Sydney but I'm not sure if she was just the cashier because she didn't originally take our order. So Sydney you were out of line and absolutely inappropriate and ruined our enjoyment of our newly found ramen place. Shame on you! Do better! read more

I ended up getting the spicy miso ramen and everything tasted great, this was during lunch so they had a special deal going on. Walking in the place looks great very clean and well lit. The place is small around 10 tables most of the tables were of two person seating . The walls were adorn with the typical Japanese decoration we are use to. It was a seat yourself but the girl at the front was friendly and attentive. For the most part. I ordered my drink while I browse through the menu. They don't have any fountain drinks, most of the drinks come in a can or bottle. They do have liquor and beer. I ordered the spicy miso with the thick noodles. They have more of the noodle consistency I am use to. The noodles had a good texture they seemed to have been cooked just right. The broth was a bit disappointing. It had the aroma of a great broth but the taste was lacking. It was porky but it most definitely was not spicy. Maybe it was toned down but not spicy at all. The portions and the price are good and the presentation of the ramen was great. The server was attentive and the environment was quiet which I really enjoyed. Facility is Open with social distancing so please come in, it's very quite and Yelp needs to update that Kern county restaurants are all open for business.
