This review is for vegetarian and vegan people. Stopped by here on my quest to find the best vegetarian ramen. They only have one vegetarian ramen but its very good! One of the best veggie ramen bowls I have had. Only wish they had stronger hot sauce as thier housemade sauce was a bit bland. Also would be nice if they had more than one vegetarian option like I have seen at other ramen places. I recommend thier lunch deal where you can get ramen and and appetizer for $14. Great spot, great service, great food. You are not entitled to a tip, it's voluntary. A waitress ran to catch up with us when we were already down the block and around the corner. She wanted to remind me that I didn't tip..... First off, you doing your baseline job duties doesn't earn you a tip. I tip well when I feel the service was exceptionally unique and above average. Here's a tip: The workforce is stagnant and unemployment is the highest it's ever been. I spent almost $60 for a full meal for 2, instead of buying a weeks worth of groceries. The duck buns as appetizers were good. We also got takoyaki and it was alright. I'm most disappointed about the ramen. I had higher expectations for the ramen. I wasn't satisfied at all with my last visit here. There was nothing special about my miso salmon ramen. My order took close to half-an-hour to be prepared even though the restaurant was nowhere near full capacity. After waiting nearly half-an-hour for my food, I was expecting the best bowl of ramen that I've ever had in my life, but no. The miso salmon ramen came with miso-glazed salmon, spicy ground pork, kimchi, kikurage mushroom and menma pork bone broth. Despite being advertised as spicy, neither the brother nor the "spicy" ground pork was even remotely spicy. Everything was pretty much bland and tasteless even with the table side chili paste added into my broth. Normally, if I think the ramen is good, I would devour everything including the soup. That wasn't the case here. Overall, I would not recommend Ten-Ichi at all. There are far better ramen places in the city that you can get for the $18 after tip/tax I spent here. I've been on a bit of the ramen kick lately, trying to find the best in Brooklyn. The house-made pork gyoza is phenomenal and worth traveling for. I ordered the Ten-Ichi ramen and it was good but fell short just a little of great. The broth was a little saltier than normal and the egg was slightly less marinated than I prefer. Ignore all the reviews! This is the newest and this place changed ownership. Walking in already something was off - it was the Ac. No more beers on tap either, you can get a warm bottle of Orion and if you are lucky the waitress will offer you a glass, which is even warm No water. I order one portion of gyoza, the recipe still the same, but the sauce is gone. The ramen is now something from a package that you can buy in the supermarket and prepare it at home. When I do come alone, I like to sit at the window to watch the avenue passerby. The shishito peppers and rock shrimp tempura and spring rolls are good appetizers. These aren't just basic spring rolls, though, because they have pieces of real shiitake mushrooms. If you want to try their standard ramen, order the Ten-Ichi ramen. The dish plays on textures and flavors - mild, savory, creamy broth, a gooey and slightly sweet boiled egg, soft noodles, crunchy mushrooms, and a fresh bite from the scallions. The pork slices have a good ratio of meat and fat and are fried slightly for a bit of a char before being added to the bowl. The service is also amazing. Came in with some buddies for some large bowls of warmth to escape the chilly rain outside. We ordered the takoyaki, the rock shrimp and the handmade pork gyoza as our appetizers, and washed it all down with a large bowl of ramen each. In terms of the appetizers, the gyoza was a winner. It tasted and felt like love was cooked right into it. It was also presented artfully underneath a a crunchy rice veil of sorts. The takoyaki are quite classic as well and totally melt in your mouth. Still a bit freaked out by the wiggling fish flakes but they're already dead... I think... The rock shrimp fell a bit short, and came in a small portion which was kind of heavy on the batter. The bowls of ramen were pretty good! I've definitely had more flavorful broth in my previous pork chasu bowls, but it was still very solid. I would have liked some more veggies/ingredients thrown in, but overall they were satisfying. The service was also fantastic. My friends and I barged in loudly discussing politics and didn't shut up till we began stuffing our faces, so we were definitely thankful for the continual kind treatment. This ramen was bursting with so many different flavors. Now when i eat Japanese Ramen i always test the broth first bc if the broth is bad then everything goes downhill from there. A lot of places tend to make their soup base very salty but Ten Ichi Ramen's broth was AMAZING. The bok choy was crunchy while the noodles were soft. The egg had been marinated in some great sauce and the mushrooms didnt have that extra chewiness. And the garnish. Man, they reminded me of this korean pancake my grandma would make for me. My favorite ramen spots are in Manhattan but this place is great for when I don't want to trek too far from the apartment. I tried the ten ichi ramen with wavy noodles. Good pork, good toppings (especially the egg), and wavy noodles just the way I like it. Like others have said, the broth isn't bad but could use a bit more depth in flavor. BUT, it was an easy fix when we discovered their delicious homemade chili paste on the table. It's pretty spicy so half a spoonful was plenty for me. It adds a great kick to the broth! read more

Ten-Ichi ramen has a nice, calm vibe to it & the inside is miniature but cozy. The service was pretty good, the waitress was very polite and smiled a lot which was pleasant :) They also give you wet napkins to clean your hands before you dig into the food. As for the food, it was just okay. The takoyaki was really the only dish that "wowed" me and it was still considered pretty average in par with my standards. I also ordered the cold ramen because I wanted the avocado, but it was really disappointing. Maybe I wasn't used to eating ramen without broth, maybe it was the fact it was bland. Either way, I was excited to try this place but the ramen selection was just a-ok. I also had a side order of miso salmon. The flavoring was savory and delicious, however the salmon was a little overcooked and dry. Next time, I would probably just give the pokebowls a try if I stumble upon this place again. read more

Came here on a Friday for lunch. It was empty when we arrived so I was a little suspicious at first. I figured it was probably too hot for people to want ramen. We both ordered the lunch special, which came with an appetizer and ramen. We got the gyoza and the ichi wings as appetizers and the classic ramen. The gyoza and chicken were both pretty good. The gyoza was crispy and the chicken had a nice sauce. The ramen itself had a rich, creamy broth that I enjoyed. I'm not always the biggest fan of ramen noodles(I prefer thicker noodles), but these were chewy and slightly al dente. The ramen came with half an egg of the perfect yolk consistency. I like my yolk as a thick gel consistency, and that's exactly how it was. It also came with bok choy, mushrooms, and thinly sliced pork. The pork was tender and fatty. There were a lot of noodles in this serving, and I couldn't finish it all. Overall, the food here was good, but there are so may restaurants in Brooklyn to try that I'm not sure it was good enough to go back to. read more

My boyfriend really wanted to try poke, so I found this place in our neighborhood. I'd only had poke in those chipotle style fast casual places, so this was an interesting experience for both of us. Solid ramen for when I don't want to trek out to the city. This isn't my favorite ramen, but it does hit the spot on a cold day. It's pretty clean inside and the decor is cool - I loved the bowls on the wall. I also like the large window, so you can see them making your food. NOTE: Cash only! They have an ATM right by the door. We had the Tempura Fried Rock Shrimp + Shishito Peppers, which came with a mayo sauce, the pork gyoza, and ramen - of course. All were pretty good, as was service. I feel the same way about Ten-Ichi as I do about all of the other Park Slope ramen shops - it's good, but if you've had really good ramen, it doesn't compare. But hey, Ten-Ichi is cheap, and they have all sorts of non-ramen items on their menu. The duck bun was fine, but it was basically a Peking duck bun at $4 apiece. Next time I'll go for the pork belly. In terms of the ramen, we had the signature Ten Ichi (pork chashu in pork bone broth), the chicken, and the miso pork chashu. If you like spicy, I recommend the miso pork. The chicken was very light (almost to a fault), and the signature ramen was pretty good. The broth had a nice body to it. You can also add an egg or all sorts of things for $1 each. Ramen prices are cheap enough that it doesn't feel extravagant to do so. Only bad thing was some confusion with the service. The place was full and I was the next person in line. There were no tables available, but I told them I was waiting, but they gave our table away to someone else and we had to end up sitting at the counter by the door, which sucked because it was winter and it got super cold whenever anyone opened the door. read more

Finally checked out Ten-Ichi on a cold night this winter. I ordered the poke (was trying to be healthy) and a steamed bun. The steamed bun was delicious - I got the tofu with kimchi and it was the perfect balance of spice and flavor. I'd come back and just order buns for dinner. The poke was yummy and had little amaranth seeds in it for a toasty crunch. It was yummy but if I were more hungry it probably wouldn't have filled me up. What terrible service. There was no one in the restaurant and 2 wait staff. Our apps came out quick but then waited 30 minutes for our ramen. Not once did anyone come over and apologize for the wait or inform us why there was even a wait. We did see take out orders being pumped out though. And when there wasn't any take out orders being brought out, both wait staff were not present on the floor. Probably hiding because they know the kitchen was taking so long. Just doesn't make sense. A modern-vibe ramen joint that hits the spot. I read some reviews before coming here saying it's not authentic blah blah. Being authentic doesn't matter as long as you do it right! ----About the food---- Spicy miso and charshu: Everything in this dish worked perfectly together. It wasn't really spicy but all tables have a side of rayu (chili oil) to go with it. Their charshu was pretty good too, it was 40% fat 60% meat so if you're looking to go on a diet, I wouldn't suggest it, but it was super tender! Their noodles were delicious! Some places don't cook their noodles correctly but this place knows how to do it. Firm and chewy. Their broth was also very good. It was a creamy, miso base that was savory but not at all salty. My pet peeve is salty soups. Roast duck bun: A variation of the chinese peking duck that comes with roasted duck, lettuce, skinned spring onions, cucumber, katsuobushi (fish flakes) and a nice dark sauce. There is two in every order and it's surprisingly more filling than it seems. Tastes very good and comes with a crunch from the roasted skin and cucumber. ----About the service----- Very friendly and attentive! They come and check up on you from time to time to see how things are going (but not to the point where it's annoying.) They were really chill so I chatted with them and found out they opened up 6 months ago so this restaurant is fairly new. Tips/notes: Miso ramen ($13) and Roasted duck bun ($8) in the end comes to $22 without tip, ~$26 with tip. The server also told me they open from 12pm-3pm for lunch service and close for two hours. Rather disappointed with the food at this Cobble Hill Brooklyn ramen and poke restaurant. Had the lunch special for $14.95 which includes ramen and a snack. Started with the Ichi wings which were nicely breaded and fried but the gooey sauce was salty and lacked flavor. Then tried the Ten Ichi ramen which was a mess. The noodles were thin, the pork was under seasoned and bland, the bok choy was quite bitter and the broth simply tasted like melted butter. I almost felt like I was eating a bowl of noodles in a French beurre blanc! Service was extremely accommodating and polite which was nice and prices aren't too bad. I just didn't think the flavors were typical of what one would have at a ramen restaurant; it just wasn't for me. Not recommended. read more

Passed by in the area on a Saturday, and it wasn't too busy in there. My friend and I were craving ramen so we decided to check it out. We had green tea and one of us had the miso pork ramen and the other got the beef ramen. They were both flavorful! The eggs was cooked perfectly. The noodle were firm. Wow! The best vegan ramen soup I've had in my life! They somehow managed to make it rich, creamy, full-bodied and almost frothy- much like a meat based broth. This is something I've never found in a vegan ramen broth before and I'm beyond impressed. Noodles were incredibly tasty as well and perfectly cooked. Overall the flavors of the entire meal were extremely well balanced and the food was obviously prepared with care and thoughtfulness. This goes for the service as well, attentive and caring. I ordered green tea that never came out and I was too hungry and then too mesmerized by the soup to even remember it but the waiter realized himself when we had just started eating. As he brought it over he apologized and said they obviously wouldn't charge me for it. A little thing like that can so easily become a reason to not want to revisit if the waiter is nonchalant. But in this case the service was so professional that his mistake ended up making me even more pleased with my visit than before he forgot about my tea :) I will DEFINITELY be back and would warmly recommend it to anyone and everyone. read more
