    Cold soggy fries
    J Warren R.

When you up on the mountain, there are few eating choices. Ten Mile station is a prime example, when there is no competition and nothing else around. Expensive and poor tasting food are the takeaways. A burger is about $18. French fries = $9 Burger was cold. Fries were soggy and cold - cooked sometime before and left sitting out. Beer is about $8. There is free water however. Everything is self serve. Big sturdy tables.

My friend had his wedding reception here and I'm going with 4 stars for the ambiance, location, view, and service. The cabin-esque building screams "Colorado" and it's middle-of-nowhere location makes for a great 360 degree view of the scenery and is ideal for wedding photos. The service was on the money, but the bartenders had quite an edge on the wait staff. I never had a problem getting a drink, but it seemed like half the 120+ guests were done eating before our table even got served. Speaking of the food, it wasn't that great, though I recognize that may have had more to do with the selections of the bride and groom rather than the chef, or perhaps whatever catering company may have been contracted. Hydrate before you head up here if you're not used to altitude. The grandmother of the groom passed out.

Cold undercooked potato. Had to beg for a second microscoop of sour cream. Server forgot the scallions, then gave a sparse sprinkle. Wendy's would be an upgrade!

Thirteen dollars for a slice of pizza. Stale fries. Six bucks for that privilege. Best deck in Colorado. Really miss the days of independent restaurants on the mountain Bring a picnic and enjoy the deck. Avoid the food.

Fried fish and fried potato strips. I think they forgot to fry the lemon wedge and the tartar sauce.

This place gave me a simple lesson of economics. Monopolies are not good for the consumer. This is the only place to it on top of the Quicksilver lift. So, they have the monopoly on the restaurant here unless you ski down a little bit. Then, with the weather being so cold, this place was our only refuge from the cold. As when we were trying to warm up, we went ahead and eat here to save on time. Each dish will cost you on average of $13. The serving is just about right. Quality though is much to be desired for the cost, but it is still way better than your typical fast food place. So, we ate here on 2 separate days for lunch because we do not have much choice unless we want to go down. Going down was not an option since there were a lot of people on the Quicksilver lift. It was just not worth the wait. The first day was on a Friday, so I had no choice but to get their fish. It was lent, and I was trying to be a good boy. I was reluctant at first, but it turned out alright, at least better than Long John Silver except twice as much. I believe the fish was cod. It was cooked just right. The texture was not mushy which was very surprising. The batter was not thick, and it was dredge in panko so it was crunchy. It was seasoned well, but eating it with tartar sauce enhanced it tremendously. It came with fries in which I have no complain. So, it was neither good nor bad, but the price was just too much. For $13, this fish dish was just too darn expensive. I expected more higher quality for the price, but I suppose I paid for the convenience of them having to transport the fish up in the mountain and fry it up there. On the second day though, we wised up and ordered the cheapest one. We got the fries with pulled pork. So, it is their version of the poutine in which a plateful of fries is topped off with a healthy serving of pulled pork then drenched with some tomatillo based sauce. It was delicious and very hearty. The tomatillo sauce was definitely something to try. It worked well with the fries. The pulled pork was nothing special. It is just there so that there is some sort of meat with the meal. It was good enough, but still pricey for what you get. Overall, we really did not have any choice. Unless we went to the city, there was not much choice of restaurant in this area. So, suck it up and just endure the mediocre food for a bit, Or wise up just like this brilliant man that we saw. He brought his own cup of ramen and heat it up on their microwave. At least, the place provides free water and microwave.

We have never done this at a restaurant before, but we went to Twist 2 nights in a row. It is that good! We had to go back because we wanted to taste everything on the menu that we could. We had a friend who was there the same day on the other side of the restaurant that we did not see, but he said it was the best pasta dish in Colorado! Everyone was so accommodating to our group of 4 adults and 2 children. We felt at home in the beautiful Victorian home setting. We sat outside in the front yard with a majestic view of the mountains and sat back and enjoyed great food, great wine, and stellar service (shout out to Connor who took care of us the first night). They have a Happy Hour that is fabulous, but please do not limit yourself to the Happy Hour menu. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Our group kept debating what dish was the best....so many favorites. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order: Elote Street Corn Bibb - We made salad wraps of charred corn, cotija cheese, bacon and tomatoes...) Mussels - I know every restaurant has a mussel dish on their menu, but these were sublime. Love the touch of sausage to the dish! Cheese & Charcuterie Board - excellent, excellent curation! Great local cheeses paired with artisan meats...cudos on the Duck Prosciutto! Lobster Roll - All Lobster, Butter on a toasted bun....simple and so good! Shrimp and Pancetta Tagliatelle - The pasta is charred. Yes you heard that right charred pasta. The chef explained he experienced a similar dish in Italy during his travels and came back home to replicate it in his Restaurant - Thank You Chef Delicious! As our friend said "Best Pasta Dish in Colorado!" We live in the Chicagoland area, but can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! This is a long winded review and I could go on and on, but do yourself a favor and head to the mountains and Twist in Breckenridge. It is very pocketbook friendly compared to the quality food, and exceptional service you receive!

We shared the lamb chops (not pictured), the escargot, and the almond crusted ruby red trout. It was all delicious, but the trout was especially phenomenal. It's been weeks, and I am still daydreaming about it. While the food was excellent, the wait between dishes was a bit long. While waiting, we were fortunate to enjoy homemade focaccia, fresh from the kitchen. We absolutely loved Twist. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We came hungry, and we were stuffed about 3/4 of the way through the experience. We were hit with pretty generous gnudi portions, ricotta is super filling!! Then the lamb saddle which was delicious. When the sorbet came out to relieve the palette I thought we were in for the home stretch but was surprised to get another super fatty (delicious) Iberico pork. Half way through that I had to tap out from the richness and portion. The energy sitting at the chefs tasting is part of the charm. Watching the flow of the kitchen might not be for everyone, it does get loud and feels pretty chaotic at times- we love it.

The evening started with them not remembering the food allergy that I told you about when i submitted your survey, but I digress. We started with a martini and an old fashioned. The martini was tasty but half of it was missing like where's the rest of my drink ‍. Second I had to ask for plates, not sure how you forget but remembered to give them to the table next to me ‍. At this point I'm over it and prefer my experience at raticato. Next strike, you ask us to order everything and you'll course it out but instead you interrupt us mid chew and ask to clear the table for our meals, absolutely unacceptable. How do you rush your customers. I get it's 8pm but you're open until 9:30 and if you're in a rush go home and send a server that wants to be there. Service, service, service. It was absolutely non existent and at a restaurant that isn't McDonalds prices, do better. You never came back to our table and asked if the food came out ok or if we needed more drinks. As a matter of fact, my spouse walked to the bar and ordered their own drink, unacceptable. Absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't enjoy our meal because the service was so poor and I'd absolutely not return. We had the Halibut, which was tasty but could do without the ro and the chicken dish, which was prepared well. The steak tartare was just ok and the bread and hummus was a good addition. Nah, wouldn't recommend. Please have a conversation with Olivia Z., if she's having a day she needs to exit and not work that day in hospitality. P.s. she also rushed another table that wanted to enjoy the chicken dish but she was too focused on leaving that she told them they should get dessert instead.

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.

That night we were sat promptly when we arrived and the table was set up with menus and water waiting for us. For appetizer, we started off with the Parker House rolls with the house honey butter and OMG those rolls are so fluffy and delicious. Highly suggest getting the rolls if you like bread. The butter complimented the bread beautifully. I started off the night with the blackberry smash with tequila and it was delicious. Just the right combo of sweetness. For entree we went with their Pasta Rotante which for the night was a crazy flavor combo of tomato, pumpkin seeds, crunchy carrot strings, sage and chicken sausage. I'm probably missing other ingredients, but it was a dance of flavors on the tongue. Our waiter recommended pairing this with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was the perfect compliment.
