THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG ONE. I heard so much hype about this place and I really wanted it to deliver. However, so many things went wrong and my party of four all left pretty disappointed. We came just five minutes after opening and yet the restaurant interior was already packed. Alright that's on us for not making it just a bit earlier. When you enter, there's no obvious order or structure as to what is going on. People are all standing around in random areas, you can't tell who's in line to order and who's waiting for food. You finally figure it out when you see a few people facing backwards towards two payment kiosk. My party obviously proceeds to get in line to order and do so, with me being the third out of four of us to do so. I ordered the Spicy Lobster Miso ramen and it all kinda went downhill from there. First, the "lobster' ramen doesn't seem to actually include anything of such namesake. They instead include flavors that are reminiscent of lobster. The actual topping itself was "xo crab." I noted this before ordering but still wanted to try it. Next, unlike essentially every other ramen place, none of their dishes (beside the pork maze-men) come with any form of egg. You have to pay an extra $1.50 for their onsen (poached) egg. I don't consider myself a ramen fanatic but I could not imagine myself or anyone having a ramen without egg. So to me at least, every item is actually $1.50 more than their already expensive pricing. So despite entering just under five minutes post-open and there only being perhaps 8-10 people being inside before us, the first of any of my group's orders took about 40 minutes to come out. They seem to process their orders in "batches" or so because two more items for our party came out shortly after the first. But then because of their batch system, my order ended up in the next set. So after my friends waited ten minutes after getting theirs for my dish to come out, I told them they could go ahead and start because I didn't know how long it would take. There's really no communication from the kitchen. They just call out names sporadically and that's about it. In the end, my dish came out twenty minutes after everyone else in my group, despite us all having ordered at the same time. By then, my friends had already finished their food and were now just waiting on me to eat. That's not a great experience for anyone. Okay finally on to the food itself. The spicy lobster miso ramen is SWEET. That's not necessarily a bad thing in itself but I did not enjoy that for this dish. The crab meat was sparse and the noodles were too soft without any springiness to it. However, the poached egg was as expected and the chashu (tried someone else's) was actually enjoyable with a notable smoky flavor. Definitely not worth the nearly ~$18.00 after egg, tip, and tax for this. As for the rest of my group. They noted that the restaurant absolutely lacked consistency. Two of my friends had ordered the Shoyu ramen (with an extra $1.50 egg of course) and had wildly different experiences. One thought her dish was well enough but the other had found his broth was straight up SALTY. The four of all us compared the two broths of the same exact dish and came to the same conclusions. He had difficulty finishing the ramen because his mouth literally started to burn from the salt. No one's dish was worthy is any positive way. I seriously wanted to like this. read more

This place was excellent and needs more Yelp loving! I came 45 mins before they closed tonight and service was super quick and I was in and out in about 15 minutes! I had the spicy mazemen with an extra poached eggs and it was to die for . I am actually craving it already, and I just had it! I liked how there was raw garlic there with a garlic press. I can't wait to come back here and try some of their other stuff, it all looked really good. This is definitely a no frills place. Standing room only and the other customers were pretty friendly and asked if I needed space at the bar. There are these kiosks when you first enter on the left where you order and pay (credit card only). It reminds me of Japan, except for more modern. I visited Ten Ramen for the first time today. It is not difficult to spot a customer who is visiting for the first time. I see it all the time where I work and try my best to make them feel welcome. This was the case today. When I walked in, I was immediately met by a friendly face over the counter that asked, "first time?" to which I replied "yes!". He instructed me over the ordering process on the convenient iPads by the entrance. Too bad I never caught this guy's name. But on to the food: I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and added pork belly. The broth was an exquisite journey through authentic ramen flavors, but the pork belly! Oh my! That was delicious. I highly recommend this place. My oh my...this place is a strong contender in the ramen world. The broth was rich, not overly creamy, and delicious. It was no surprise that I slurped my way to the bottom of the bowl. Lobster spicy miso was on point; it had the perfect amount of heat for the cold weather. The tonkotsu had a savory pork based broth, which is the best part. They grilled the chasu first, rendering it very tender and flavorful. Across the board, each ramen bowl had scallions and nori (edible seaweed). I ordered extra corn, one of my favorite toppings. Other add-ons include bok choy, tofu, chasu (pork belly), ginger, poached egg, takana (pickled vegetables), sansai (mountain vegetables), and extra noodles. There was fresh garlic located at the standing bar, I recommend crushing those goodies into your bowl for added flavoring. This is a small ramen joint that runs very efficiently. There are four people running the entire show. First, order your meal on the tablet. Then wait for your name to be called out behind the counter. It might not be a good idea to wait outside for your order as they will not venture out to find you. Once you have your order, there is standing room inside facing the kitchen, which is my personal favorite to watch the chefs make the meal. There is additional standing room outside. No chairs - it's a quick eat and go type of vibe. No waiter/waitress services. You can also buy beer with your meal. They have a water dispenser in the front. Ten Ramen has knocked every other ramen place I've been to down a whole star. It is spectacular! It's a fast casual place, you come in and order on the iPads to the left and wait at the (standing) bar tables for them to call your name and deliver the bowl of goodness to you. It's quick and really neat to be able to see them make your ramen in front of you. It's traditional, and it's completely normal for ramen places to *not* do to-go orders because ramen is made specifically to be eaten hot and fresh. The space is small but people go in and out quickly. You stand and eat, and the garlic/extra spices are left on the counter for you. I always add garlic and a little spice to mine, but the food here is so good, it really doesn't need it. The ramen itself is STELLAR. I came in on a cold and rainy day and it was the perfect thing. The broth is so good, seasoned to be salty and savory but not too sweet (as I've had it at other places). They don't skimp on anything. The char siu is well marinated and grilled perfectly. It's thick and juicy, not too fatty, not too lean, and a great balance of salty and sweet. Best I've had ever! Besides my mom's, that is ;) Tonkotsu was very rich but not heavy. I got the shoyu and basically inhaled it. I liked that they used some fresh mushrooms instead of the dried ones because they give the broth some more flavor and soak up the broth as well. My boyfriend recently visited Japan and has been missing the culture ever since he got back. As a surprise date plan, I found this place and crossed my fingers that it would be comparable to the delicious Ramen he had in Japan...this place did not disappoint! We placed our order at the tablet and waited for the chefs to call our name. It's a small eat and go venue. You stand at the bar in front of the chefs and slurp away. They have plenty of add in flavor options on the bar. A Japanese white pepper, fresh peeled garlic with a press and some red chili peppers to add to your bowl. We chose to eat our bowls as they were made. He got the Tonkotsu and I ordered the Shoyu so we could taste them both and thet were sooooo good! Other reviewers are right...the pork is great, but it was plenty so we didn't need to order extra. There are no to-go containers so you leave what you don't finish...but after the first taste you won't want to leave any behind! You also can't order to-go...unless you bring your own containers. We came into Ten Ramen right after some terrific cocktails at the nearby Jettison. The interior is standing room only and can be a bit cramped. Don't worry though, the food is worth it. Place your order at the electronic machine in the corner, and soon enough you'll be beckoned to the fragrance of your chosen dish. I picked the tonkatsu ramen with added garlic, and with the usual poached egg and chashu. The egg is a little bit unusual since you don't really see poached eggs in ramen...more soft boiled ones. I went this spot a lot when I used to live in Dallas. Now that I live in Massachusetts, I flew into town visiting my family for the weekend and decided to visit my old favorite place. It was a chilly day... and the ramen craving was strong... I wasn't quite sure what to expect walking in but it definitely wasn't a small bar-style shop. It was very cozy, but the line moved along pretty efficiently. The cartoon on the wall showing the ordering process is adorable! Being able to watch the chefs while you eat is also fun. I had a tonkotsu with an egg added. The broth was pretty good, but I was kind of sad that the egg wasn't the normal marinated egg that comes with ramen - it was just a plain poached egg. The price also came out to be slightly more expensive than I'm used to for ramen in the Dallas area. Order from a pair of iPad-centric kiosks, selecting your choices by tapping and swiping your card (plastic only, no cash!). The noodles have excellent flavor and the texture is perfectly al dente. I adore that there's literally fresh garlic cloves and a garlic press on the counter to richen your bowl, and fresh chili as well. Went here the other day after a long flight into Dallas, luckily we went right at opening. The place had a dozen or so people within the first five minutes it opened. We were greeted from behind the ramen bar, and instructed to enter our order into two tablets on the side of the restaurant. It's very small, tucked away and standing room only. I have no idea how they accommodate more than ten people in there but we were fortunate to have arrived right at opening. I ordered the tonkatsu and my mind was blown. The noodles were the perfect texture, soft with some bite left to it. The broth was rich, seasoned and bursting with so much depth of flavor. I find that where a lot of ramen shops fall flat is in a watery, flavorless broth but this was the complete opposite. Had I not been rushed, I certainly would have drank that bowl dry. The pork belly was outstanding. My only regret was not ordering five more pieces. I loaded my bowl with extra seasonings, chili oil and the white pepper they provide which sent it over the edge. Me and my good friend luckily got our orders in before the lunch rush happened, but wow it says a lot when a small ramen restaurant is completely packed in the most cold weather and on the verge of sleet and snow conditions. Ten Ramen is a stand and eat type of place with atleast enough area for approx 10 people to eat in peace. Next, you wait around to find a spot to STAND by the counter, yes, I said stand, there's absolutely no chair, no table to sit down, except couple stools for you to step on if you're too short to reach the counter. Secondly, the ramen chef will call out your name once your order is ready. It is NOT time to dig in yet!!!! Make sure you utilize EVERYTHING they have laid out on the counter. And I do mean EVERYTHING! That's what makes them stand out from any other ramen places in the metroplex,well, besides the fact that it's pretty much self-serve and no place to sit at all. I loveeeeeee their fresh garlic cloves along with the crusher that you can add to your ramen. Then their hot oil (tho it's not spicy at all imo). Little things do add up and make huge difference. Don't get intimidated by the limited space they have. Everyone is very courteous and won't be standing around mingling, so you wont have to wait for a long time for a spot to eat even when it's rush hour. Finally!!!! A ramen shop I am proud to have in my home city!! Ramen is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Because of this, I'm somewhat of a ramen snob. I can't say I've been fortunate to have been to Japan to grace my taste buds with authentic ramen. As you walk in, look to your right for the menu on the board. You'll see their menu is limited to 3 ramen options & 2 rice options with a weekly special. Some may comment on the few items offered but in my eyes, this tells me they specialize in what they do.. and that is RAMEN! This is my first visit so I'm going to try their staple dishes and form my own opinion. I tried not to customize my ramen too much by adding too many extra add-ins. My friend & I ordered the Tonkotsu and added corn as well as the Pork Maze-men.. the spicy one! This is not on the menu but is available when ordering. I came on a Thursday evening.. and there was no crowd. It was my lucky day. I watched my food made to order and quickly. Both dishes were DELICIOUS and AMAZING. The broth in the Tonkotsu is light but rich in flavor... just the way I prefer my ramen. I could have added a bit more salt but nonetheless, still good and comforting. The noodles were the right consistency and that chashu pork? Man.. they grill it separately which makes enhances its flavors to have it stand out on its own. Alternating between the Tonkotsu and the Maze-men was a good balance on a hot summer evening. My friend who has been to Japan said the Maze-men reminded him of Japanese street food. The yolk from the poached egg gives its a enrich the noodles and the pork bits give it the perfect amount of flavor in every bite. Just perfect I tell you. I love the ambience of the place. If you are in the streets of Asia, you are eating standing up anyways. This was definitely a treat. You'll feel like you're in a upscale street market. Oh.. and they have step stools to help the vertically challenged. Oh and price? Definitely worth it for the quality. There really isn't a need to add too many extras unless you're just that hungry. Just moved to Dallas, so I'm conducting research...visited TEN Ramen on 7/29/23. Here is my humble assessment: TLDR: It's not terrible. I won't be eating there again because it just wasn't that good. Overall, it was just ok. The noodles were a smidge overdone. Broth was ok too, but a little plain and not quite enough of it. Honestly, it needed salt, a need that I've never experience while eating Ramen! Ambience: Order at a electronic station on the wall. Standing room only in the restaurant. No seating inside. Pics online show a standing bar to eat at. You can do that, but you can't take more than 30 minutes to eat your food which is doable. Just know it's not a sit down restaurant. Although - there are outside tables in the area for your dining pleasure. Service: I arrived at 6pm - when they open for dinner. Diners were standing outside waiting (good sign, I thought). The restaurant was not open and no one was inside bustling around. I waited a bit longer with the other diners. No one knew why they weren't open. I left. Came back around 9pm, and 3 staff members were there with no other customers. I ordered and 5 min later left with ramen. None of the staff ever acknowledged me while I was there. Note that they have a 1.99 service charge for to-go orders, which isn't that much money, but it is odd... Oh my wow!!!! Decided to try this place on a whim with my friend on a rainy Friday night. It super exceeded all of my expectations. I have tried a few ramen places in Dallas before and was completely turned off. After eating here I am a Ramen fan!!! I highly recommend this place. Tips: 1. There is no formal seating. You stand to eat. 2. You cannot take the food to go, unless you bring your own to-go container. 3. The place is VERY small and gets crowded during peak hours. 4. It gets very hot eating at the bar near the kitchen where they make the food. 5. You pay for your food at the door on iPad machines. Credit card only. 6. The menu is written in chalk on the wall on the right hand side as you enter. 7. The restaurant does not have a sign on the outside. It is located next to a juice shop. Sooooo good!!! Best ramen I've ever had. So flavorful. The staff here are super friendly. I come here about two times out of the week, I can't get enough of it! My favorite is the lobster ramen. The last time I went they sold out of my favorite (lobster ramen) the cook was so nice that he improvised!! It still tasted good. Thank you guys, y'all all are awesome. read more

Great customer service and friendly employees. They really care about their customers. I keep sending my family, friends, and co workers to Ten Ramen. When visitors at my work ask for recommendations, I also send them here. No one has complained about the service or food to me. It's great to know that I can confidently send people here. I have tried all their dishes and when I can, I'll get the new/temporary dishes. I've never been dissapointed with them. I love that I can add extra veggies or chasu (pork belly) to my ramen. I'm not a fan of pork but they make it delicious with a nice smoky flavor. The ramen is flavorful and the best I've had. You can bring your own drinks which is awesome. They do have complimentary water. No takeout and no seats. You stand but they do help out if a seat is needed to those who need it. read more

I heard a lot of great things about this place, so we decided to give it a try! It's a bit hard to find, so if you're driving here, park near the Cox Farms Market, look across and you'll see it in the corner. Placing an order is easy with the machine. It's standing room only, but doesn't take long for space to clear up so you can eat your food! (On Sunday as soon as they opened) We ordered - 3 tonkatsu ramens, 1 with extra corn. The broth was really tasty. The noodles were great, even though I don't know if it's made in house. Still yummy! Chashu had great flavor, tougher than what we are used to. Overall, no complaints. We loved it. - Maze-men (dry noodles) vegetarian. One of my friends is vegetarian, and she just wrote "No Pork or Egg" in the section while ordering. They came out of the way to ask her if she wanted extra vegetables and if she was ok with tofu. They put care in making her feel comfortable eating here! She really enjoyed her meal, basically inhaled it. Three words from her "like... really good!" I took a bite and it was awesome! A nice sweet savory flavor. I'm going to get the maze-men next time. The head chef overheard us talking about wanting to try the lobster miso. They were sold out of the actual lobster for the week, but he gave me a bowl to try the xo broth! It had a nice level of spice on it. That was really kinof him to do. My husband and I are picky about ramen, being from very Asian communities in California. This is the best we've had in Dallas so far. UPDATE: 12/29/2018: Just came back and tried the non spicy maze men. It is so tasty! Love it.
