Came here because I've been to a ten ren back in the day in Fremont but I don't think they have a location there anymore. Anyways this is located at the plaza with all the Asian stores like ranch 99 and since the last time I've been here they got some new restaurants and it's still busy ! They have a lot of parking just parked in the garage and walked a bit. If you want to have a closer walk just park next to mod pizza because it is directly across from it. Ordered the white peach green tea and it's just as I expected, very good and not strong tea taste since they use legit tea there since that is what the sell as well. Also tried the coconut green milk tea with boba which was good as well. They have fast service and very friendly customer service. Would come here again to try more drinks. So I've always had the Ten Ren tea leaves and it has a UNIQUE milky taste to the tea. Decided to grab their Green T with homemade Grass Jelly, adjusted sweetness to 75% --could have definitely been SWEETER. They are more catered to the asians in terms of sweetness and taste. Their milk Ts have less milk so be PREPARED for their strong tea taste. Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all check them out and grab a drink togo, their drinks are catered towards the more older gen imo. read more

I love this location so much! I'm amazed that it has maintained its quality since I've been coming here back in my college days (literally the early 2000's!). This is one of the few places that does matcha right . It's got a bright and bitter bite to it unlike the green-colored, vanilla-flavored, overly sugary versions that most coffee and tea spots tend to serve. Ten Ren used to be one of my favorite boba spots but after they changed management, they really dropped down in quality. The drinks are no longer special. They no longer offer any of the unique teas that they used to carry. It feels like they are no longer a Tea House and more of a chain boba store. I love the Milpitas location.. They're still doing it the legit way, but this location reminds me of the SoCal Ten Rens. Painfully average. I don't know what corners they're cutting, but the drinks aren't cuttin' it anymore. If you want some real TEA around the area, go to TP TEA instead. Bring back the white muscat oolong, and MAYBE I'll give this location another try.. I'm a die-hard boba fan who loves a very strong milk tea with the most minimal amount of sweetness. At other boba shops, I usually get 0-20% sweet but at Ten Ren, I can just opt for the "less sweet" option. To this day, I really don't know what their sweetness levels are or if they even have a percentage... but every time I say "less sweet," it comes out perfect. My go-to at Ten Ren is the roasted oolong milk tea, less sweet, less ice, and with boba. And with boba at an additional cost of a whopping 25 cents, how can you resist?? Ten Ren is possibly the only boba shop around that is still reasonably priced for high quality milk teas. I've tried their milk black tea before but I thought it was ok as the tea flavor just wasn't quite as pronounced compared to the roasted oolong. ALSO, double check your orders when you get them! I had high expectations for this place due to my past experiences from over a year ago, but sadly my latest experience made me sad. My husband and I shared a large almond tea with boba with 50% sugar and no ice. It was waaaaayyyy too sweet! I can't imagine what 100% would've tasted like. There were a few sips I took where clumps of powder made it into my mouth... And the boba was just average. The drink wasn't as good as I remembered it to be. As for the experience, the line wasn't too bad early afternoon on a Saturday, but I was surprised there even was a line. Ordering was pretty easy, and they had a glass panel separating customers from the employee. Their drinks are pretty average prices for boba in the Bay Area. Typically I stay away from unique flavors because most shops make them way too sweet, but I fell in love with their Red Bean MT once I tried it at 25% sugar (my first time). This time, I requested between 0-25% sweet, and I'm so happy they were able to accommodate because the red bean flavor was strong, and the sweetness from the drink/boba wasn't overwhelming. i've been coming to ten ren for years whenever i end up shopping at cupertino village. they always have pretty authentic tea and prices have always been on the lower end. my favorite drinks are the oolong milk tea and the mango green milk tea! boba here is usually pretty chewy, a bit on the softer side but still good. i usually order 25% sweet for the mango green milk tea (the mango syrup runs the drink sweeter) and 50% sweet for any plain tea (like oolong or green) since they are a bit more bitter. they also have barley/buckwheat milk tea which is a good caffeine free option. punch in your phone number on their five stars rewards tablet to get a free drink every 10 drinks too! read more

Came here on a super hot afternoon after craving something cold and ~fun~. I've really been wanting to try some new boba places and this spot had some really good reviews, so I thought why not! When you first go up to the store, they take orders at the doorway. There's a plexi glass barrier between you and the cashier, which is always appreciated. They also have a microphone device (like the ones they use at ticketing booths at the movies) which makes it easier to hear one another. They were quick to take our order and our 2 drinks were made probably within 3 minutes of ordering! Overall, very very fast service. I got the Jasmine Milk Tea with pearls and 75% ice + 75% sugar. Little did I know that this place is all about their Tea, and don't add a ton of sugar to their regular milk tea recipes. Although I'm not the type to like super sweet drinks, my drink ended up being reallyy bitter. I'm not sure if that's what it was supposed to taste like at 75% sweet, but it was not what I was expecting. The tea itself tasted really good but again, I just was expecting something a little sweeter. Other than that, the pearls were soft, sweet, and chewy. COVID precautions (December 2020): No entering the store even to order. You order at the door in between a glass screen. Line formed outside guided by green tape. Ten Ren always appeals to me because they are a renowned tea shop, and it isn't common for most people to know places that sell tea. The only problem I find with Ten Ren is that across chains, there are huge inconsistencies. From one store to another, you'll probably get a very different experience. I've heard from friends that the Cupertino store is the best one, so while driving down South, my friends and I decided to stop by. I got the hot roasted oolong milk tea with boba 25% sweet and my friends got the red bean milk tea regular sugar (one hot, one cold). For my drink, I liked that there was 1/4 sweet since most places only do 30% or more. I found that the 1/4 was perfect sweetness because generally, boba comes out too sweet for me. The pearls were soft, but I expected it to be especially since I ordered a hot drink. The "could have been improved" part: I found the temperature to be lukewarm at best. It was not hot nor would I consider warm..more like a drink that has been sitting out. I also found the tea to not be as smooth, and not as strong which I was surprised because Ten Ren is known to have stronger tea flavor. I really wanted to love this place! But especially since there are so many boba places in Cupertino...I probably wouldn't come here again unfortunately. read more

They are open during COVID. They are also on doordash but have a limited menu. IMHO, Ten Ren's quality of tea is by far the best. I've tried a number of drinks from here. Grapefruit green tea with aloe - if you have a sweet tooth, this isn't for you. Grapefruit itself is a little on the bitter side, so this drink, even at regular sweetness has a bitter after taste. Honey lemon green tea - this is my go to for a light refreshing drink on a hot day. Not too sweet at regular sweetness with a hint of citrus. Peach green tea - this is also a good drink for a hot day. it's a bit on the sweeter side for regular sweetness. You can definitely taste the peach flavor, which I like. Regular black milk tea with boba - the few times I've gotten this, it was made to perfection (regular sweetness). You can taste the flavor of the tea and the hint of the condensed milk so that it's not overpowering. The boba texture was also perfect. It wasn't too chewy or hard. read more

I've tried other drinks here and while they are all great, they pale in comparison to the roasted oolong. During COVID, you can basically have three people/groups inside the store at a time. They have set up three stations: one at the cash register to order, one at the pickup counter, and one in between. Other customers wait outside in a line. I came around 7:30 PM and there was only one person in line so there was not much of a wait. Don't forget to use their rewards program! Ten Ren Tea is a boba place that has been around for a LONG time. It's not into the Instagram craze; it's not into fancy lids and accessories; and it doesn't have a drink selection with crazy names. Ten Ren Tea is simplistic both in ambiance and taste. The parlor isn't decorated and looks more like a shop that sells tea leaves than boba. The menu is surprisingly quite variable with many flavors to choose from, and it also offers two different cup sizes. But be warned that the "original" size is downright tiny. For our first try, I decided to get the strawberry green milk tea with boba and the hubby tried the house milk tea with grass jelly. It didn't take long for us to get our drinks and they were both average at best. The strawberry green milk tea certainly had a strong strawberry taste, but the tea itself wasn't very smooth. The boba was perfect though. As for the house milk tea, the drink itself was bland and not at all creamy. The grass jelly was also flavorless. Overall, we couldn't rave about Ten Ren Tea. It's clearly a staple in the boba arena, but with so many options and so much competition, it just doesn't shine like the others. read more

Unlike other places, Ten Ren is known for their tea so you'll be able to taste the tea compared to milk (if you get milk tea). They have a variety of different items on their menu, but I usually go with their milk tea.
