I asked for hot sauce instead of tenders sauce on my sandwich. The cashier asked me if I wanted the tenders tossed in the sauce. I said sure, and then she tried to change me an extra $1.50. What a scam!!! Looks like Hardee's from now on. I was willing to pay a dollar more to buy from a small local business, but an additional $1.50 to toss 2 tenders in hot sauce. The nice part is they traded out the sauce I didn't want for a sauce that I did like. And reading some of the negative reviews it's so frustrating that somebody would give a place like this a bad review because they didn't have iced tea at 7 o'clock at night and not willing to brew a pot just before closing. A place like this most likely makes their tea and doesn't carry it over till the next day, it's nice to know if you come here you're going to get fresh tea certainly not a reason to leave a bad review. So this place has never had the best food but it's close to the hospital and we dont have many places to go. But this last experience was on another level. Asked for extra sauce and I got none. For some reason they gave me all flat wings which, if you asked for it, they would charge you (like the sauces I didnt get) but when you want the standard mix of drums and flats you never know what you will get. The wings are small, stringy, and overcooked usually. When you dont have many choices, you overlook these details but youd be mad as shit if you went to a real wing place and was given these. I'd return my meal for a refund, but waiting in the lines and for my food has taken up my entire lunch break. I guess I wont eat this 12hr shift. I've never had a good experience here but it was acceptable. I wont make this mistake again. read more

TLDR: All around solid place for a quick and easy meal. Good tenders, great sauce. I've been going to Tenders for some years now, and they are a great place to get lunch or dinner if you're looking for a simple and tasty meal. Their tenders are great, especially when paired with their excellent sauce which is easily my favorite sauce in town. Their fries can be a bit bland if you like more seasoned fries, but once again their sauce is a perfect compliment for them fixing their lack of seasoning. Their Texas toast is pretty good too. Huntsville is my adopted city- I have lived here for over half of my life and all of my adulthood. Huntsville has really embraced me and I have embraced many of the traditions and affinities of my fellow locals. One thing I have not learned to love is Tenders Chicken. I feel totally alone in this- Huntsville is a small town (despite it's mid city size) and I try to love a locally owned chicken joint but I just can't. There seems to be a nostalgia people feel towards Tenders that I just don't have so I'm going to put my honest and unbiased review out there. The chicken tenders are generic, there's not a lot of flavor in the breading. The coleslaw is awful. The fries are unseasoned. Everything tastes like vegetable oil. I do enjoy the grilled tenders quite a bit which is why Tenders has earned three stars in my review. Parking is a nightmare. Staff has always been friendly to me, so that's a plus. There's something magical about this place to a lot of people and I get it. It's a local place and a lot of my friends that grew up here had their soccer team parties and get-togethers there. I'm glad it's a thriving tradition but if you are an out-of-towner looking for an awesome chicken experience this isn't it. read more

Went to Tenders for the first and last time today. Had to get takeout so I would be back at home for virtual meetings. I ordered the Tender plate with Tenders, fries, slaw, and toast. When I got home I found out I was given grilled tenders when I ordered fried, so I had to drive all the way back to swap it. You would think the manager, a young lady, would show some concern and offer an apology, but it was quite the opposite. She was rude, and snapped at me because I requested they replace everything since the fries and toast wouldn't be fit to eat. The food was ultimately mediocre, and I lost my entire lunch hour because of their incompetence. I won't be back, and certainly will not recommend them to anyone else. read more

For a chicken place, this is pretty darn good - and they have a healthy option - a darn good salad w/ chicken fingers on top. The salad also included mandarin oranges and strawberries - yum! The chicken is lightly fried and seemingly fresh as well. The service was quick (order at the cash register and then wait for your order number) and the decor was very Alabamian, meaning photos of football stadiums, signed pics of coaches, and of cheerleaders on the walls. The restaurant was very clean, but I did not see a health score on the wall. Also, the drinks are of the non-alcohol variety. I would recommend this to my friends due to the salad. This place is pretty good. Despite getting there pretty close to closing, the employees were still friendly and I was given fresh food, still hot by the time I got home. Definitely can't complain about that. The chicken itself is great, it's similar to Zaxby's as has been said but way less salty. But not in a bland way, just in a way that you aren't dying of thirst while eating a chicken tender. Their sauce is good too and I'm not usually a fan of sauce like that. Tenders is a great chicken fingers & fries place in 5-points. I always get a tenders plate which comes with chicken fingers, fries, texas toast, and tenders sauce. If you like chicken fingers and fries, you'll like this place. If you're an SEC sports fan, you'll probably like Tenders more than your average customer since it's completely decked out in SEC memorabilia/photos. My husband and I had a taste for tenders and decided to go to this tender restaurant, thinking that a restaurant named Tenders would be great at making tenders. We were correct! I went with a friend who wanted tenders (she liked hers), but I got wings. 10 wings were $9.50 on the menu and they were TINY. They had hardly any meat on them - seriously, they looked like quail wings. I usually fill up on 5-6 wings, but had to eat all 10 and was still hungry. The service was also bad. I asked if I should order extra celery and got a response that "celery comes with it." Well the answer should have been yes, because when I got my box of 10 tiny wings, there was literally one little celery stick in the box. I went back up to the counter and showed them that there was one small piece of celery in the box and both employees knodded and said that this is what it comes with - one stick. If you want more, you have to order extra. O.m.g. I reminded them that I had considered ordering extra celery. I just ended up walking out and telling them that I'd just stop at the grocery store. The only reason this place will stay in business is because the hospital employees come get food on their break. read more

Ugh. I had lunch today in this Five Points location. The only reason this isn't a one-star was that the cashier was very pleasant. The food on the other hand was nasty. I had smoked wings. They were so greasy that I literally had fat pools on the plate and that was after wiping them with a napkin. The chicken was mushy, gelatinous, and tasteless. Never seen anything like it. I threw it out and I am just not that picky of an eater but I wasn't sure this was actually cooked. I asked one of the staff if this greasiness was normal and she said yes. I literally had to wash my hands off before leaving the restaurant. If you want wings, try Buffalo Wild Wings and if you want a good lunch in this area of town, just go around the corner to Ted's BBQ or Thai Garden. read more
