The food is alright here but my only complain is that the servers be asking for extra tip, I went on a Saturday one day with my family (4 people), there was this one server she was very nice but on that Saturday I had a different server tell us to give her extra 10 dollar tip asking for more money. Definitely not coming here again, They always put the fortune cookie on the table when you get fruits, not giving us time to even finish. Don't recommend this place overall read more

The sushi is very good and the desserts. The crabs was kind dry. The crawfish is juicy. The service is good. They are nice. This place is less pricey than other buffet that I had been to. Very poor service and food look like Chinese style，but no tasty. In addition, they were not fresh or clean! Although the restaurant is claiming "all you can eat" and " no time limit" from dinner time (5 to 9 pm). However when you have stayed there more than two hours or certain food you like, there was a waitress will remind you of staying here too long or not refilling the food you like. This place is disgusting, horrible and nasty...there are not enough words in the english dictionary to describe how horrible it is. I am truly surprised I didn't got sick after eating here. The only half-decent thing in the restaurant is the Mongolian gill, but is still pretty bad. First of all, be prepared to give the cook one dish, and receive another totally different one. I hate seafood and both times I tried the Mongolian grill, shrimp kept appearing on my plate. This same thing happened to both of my parents, which at a point my dad's plate look totally different from what he order. Also, both times I tried the Mongolian grill, the cook burned all my meat and vegetables. I know you are thinking, "if the Mongolian grill was that bad, why you tried it twice?". Well let me tell you about the food in the buffet. The general chicken tasted like a mix of medicine with artificial flavor. The beef and broccoli was definitely not beef, and had a very chewy consistency, and there was another thing that was supposed to be chicken, and neither my parents or I could identify what we were eating. There is a new Buffet in town.....look out any business that serves food. Hibachi grill, fresh sushi, huge crabs, shrimp, shrimp, shrimp, oysters, dessert, the list and choices are vast. I challenge anyone to try and sample everything in one visit!!!! This is the old Green Turtle. There is plenty of rooms with seating. If you have been to the one in Baltimore, you know. There is a large fish tank and a wall of water that greats you when you arrive. There is a Chocolate Fondue Tower, yes, you read that correctly. Fresh strawberries, bananas and marshmallows on skewers to dip under the fountain of flowing chocolate. The price, I don't even remember, I was zeroed in on the overwhelming spread. I want to say around $11-12....without a coupon. I know that there are $1.50 off coupons floating around too. I hope they keep up the service and quality, it is very good and reasonably priced for a buffet. 5 stars, as good as it gets for a buffet. read more

This is a nice option for buffet lovers. It is an Asian/Seafood based buffet. Plenty of seafood options with some surprises "Treasure Shrimp, Baked clams.." I visited the Laurel location on 6/15/2014 for Father's Day because nothing rocks my dad's socks more than a smorgasbord of food for a good cheap price of about $14, seafood to boot! When you walk in, the ambience is set with low neon lighting and a streamlined water fall wall for decor. Most of the seating is booth styled, which makes it hard to get up for more helpings. Chairs and tables are in the party room for large parties (8+). The "american" dishes available are fried chicken, chicken nuggets, salad and mac and cheese. Most of the food is tasty with the exception of the mystery foods a la the Treasure shrimp. There is a nice selection of sushi rolls and there is a habachi grill. The line for the habachi grill is long! There is also a cold bar with the desserts, fruit and some cold seafood items (crab legs, shrimp cocktail, etc.) This area seems slower to replenish the food items. I was disappointed that there were no scallops to be found. I didn't ask a staff member, but on my multiple trips, i didn't see any. There's also icecream and a chocolant fondue fountain with strawberries and marshmallows. The staff were all direct and quick moving. Dont expect warm and friendly personalities. They get the job done. With all that said, I DO NOT LIKE BUFFETS! I may, however ,do a brunch buffet. The sight of seeing any and everyone over my food, licking fingers, children handling food unsupervised ...grosses me out. I never have an appetite fitting for a buffet, so I don't go. I'm really confused by why the ratings for this place are so low. Is the food here healthy and high-quality? No, but that's a given with these types of places so I don't think anyone should come here realistically expecting it to be. I'm personally not a big fan of Asian-style buffets like these and actually try to avoid them whenever possible but for the sake of objectivity and fairness, Teppanyaki is easily better than similar types of buffets I've been to. Decor/ambience: The inside is really clean and has a modern, vibrant feel. The seating and buffet areas are pretty spacious so you don't have a lot of people cluttered together. Service: Most of it is self-served but the waitresses made regular rounds to collect finished plates and to provide drinks so everything ran pretty smoothly. Food: The variety of food here was exceptional. The selection of fruits was surprisingly large (kiwi, lychee, pineapple, what have you) and most fruits appeared to be fresh. I didn't try any of the cakes, but they also looked surprisingly good and delicious. I had some of their ice cream and it was on-point. The sushi also looked and tasted surprisingly good. For the fried foods, the selection ranges from Western classics like pigs-in-a-blanket and mac-n-cheese to Asian cuisines like Chinese and Thai food. Even though most of the food was fried, I definitely took note of how little oil there was and how solid the textures were throughout. If Asian buffets aren't your thing, it's understandable if you don't want to go here. Driving there from work- a few bucks Lunch for two- $20 plus tip Friday afternoon lunch with your adult son- Priceless Its a big buffet place with lots of choices. Friday a little after 1 p.m. and it was still packed (lots of ethnic people as well, which I use as a sign of "goodness"). The foods were still being filled, fresh and hot. Nothing was particularly spectacular-but everything I had was good. I've been coming here since 2011. I moved away and decided to come back for dinner since I was around the area. Myself and 4 kids, it was $98. They charged the kids as adults now, all of which were under 13 years old. About 45 minutes later the waitress handed us fortune cookies, as if she was expecting us to finish up. But all the tables around us were already eating prior to our arrival and she didn't seem to bother them. We decided to leave and she kept being pushy about getting a tip. Not a huge fan of this place. While there is a wide variety of food options for buffet, and pricing is reasonable (you can get your money's worth), the food here just isn't that good. A lot of the food items look like they've been sitting out for a while--dry and unappealing, not to mention, some tasted bland. There's something for everyone here. Spacious enough for group gatherings and enough options for the finickiest of eaters. Many people come to a buffet and instead of enjoying the offerings they attend with the mindset "I'm about to eat my money's worth". That's the wrong mindset to have as it promotes those who bring their zip-locs and even the neighbors half-grown kids trying to pass them off as being younger with the hope of paying the reduce price for a kid's meal. Nice decorations and if you like seafood, on certain nights of the week they have crab legs for an additional charge. For this particular location, it can become crowded on the weekend and hectic w/kids being unsupervised. Not a lot of interaction from the servers who scurry around haphazardly pushing food off the table onto the floor and booths as the next round of diners stampede in. Anyways they sat me and I got my food it was terriable the Wong tong did not taste like Wong tong and was ice cold barf. So I got a plate and my friend and we both where pissed all the food was cold and omg the fish smelled bad. They replaced the fish on the bar after we said something. The server was apparently used to this situations as she didn't flinch and just kept going on about her business. ----The good---- - Buffet is usually packed, so there's always fresh food on the buffet. - Tons of variety (sushi, hibachi, roast meats, Chinese food, an entire buffet island of fried food). - They have Sriracha sauce, which makes Chinese food buffets -that- much better. - The hibachi "chefs" are pretty efficient. - Interior is nice and clean - it is brand new after all - and the bathroom is swanky. - Although the sushi consists primarily of rolls and initiation crab meat, what they do have is pretty good. I'm a fan of the spicy tuna rolls. - The cakes are tasty as well as the ice cream. ----The bad---- - The food that's on the buffet isn't very good. The brown sauce they use here seems to just be brown food coloring because it doesn't taste like anything. - the "fondue" fountain is filled with chocolate syrup, NOT the chocolate w/ higher cocoa butter that is typically used. So rather than having chocolate dipped fruits, you end up having chocolate syrup all over your plate w/ only a trace amount of syrup left on the fruits. Not to mention the kids who go CRAZY using the fountain and do things with it health inspectors wouldn't approve of - but I'm not gonna lie, I've wanted to drink from a fondue fountain before. - Drinks are not included in the advertised buffet price. - REALLY loud. If you're sitting down to just stuff your face, not a problem, but if you have any thoughts of communicating with the people you're dining with? Forget about it. ----The ugly---- - The entrance is an absolute CLUSTER! There's groups of diners a) waiting in line to pay, b) waiting in the other line to get a number for their table, c) waiting around for their number to be called or d) playing the coin pushing game just as you enter the door. And it's like this almost every night. My love for Chinese buffets cannot be understated but I think waiting 30-45 minutes for one, not to mention navigating the mess of bodies at this buffet is absurd. - If you go at off-peak hours, they clearly use old vegetables. Forgivable on the cooked food islands since you can't tell when the stale veggies are doused in Mmmm So Good (MSG), but on the hibachi? Where you can see the brown spots? So if you go at an off-peak hour and stick to the hibachi, you'll probably have a good experience here. If you get there and find the entrance packed, I highly recommend you going just down the street to Empire Buffet, which isn't nearly as fancy, but the food is much better IMHO. You get pretty much what you would expect. Typical Asian buffet, decent amount of dishes to choose from. There is also a sushi bar. What I enjoyed most was the stir fry bar. You get a plate and fill it with your choice of items from the bar and the "chef" prepares it in front of you. Other than that it's an average buffet that's reasonably priced. read more

This is by far the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Here's a few reasons why: 1. BANG FOR YOUR BUCK: Lunch time buffet at about 8$ and dinner time at about 11$-- you can't beat that price (if you want a soft drink or other beverage it's an extra 2$) 2. HIBACHI: The hibachi grill is TDF (to die for) The grill master is always on point with quick service and an excellent tasting dish ( don't forget to add the YUM YUM sauce to your hibachi plate!) 3. VARIETY: Great selection of all kinds of fresh and delicious food, including the sushi bar. 4. ENVIRONMENT: A great atmosphere with nice lighting - perfect for dates, friendly outings, family dinners, or even dining alone. I go here quite often and highly recommend it. Enjoy! read more

Since I can't eat a lot of food at one sitting, I get buffet food to take out. Usually, this is fine, but you should be aware that 25-33% of food is labeled "dine-in dinner only" which I took to mean that you could eat it there but not for take-out. They also have three prices: buffet, buffet with seafood ($1 more per lb.), seafood only ($2 more per lb.). I don't know why they just don't charge the highest price and let customers pay by weight. Food is typical Chinese buffet stuff, but I do give them an extra star for having oysters on the half shell and steamed blue crab. But then I can't speak as to the quality of the "dine-in" food, which might have been awful, might have been fabulous. The restaurant mails out a lot of coupons, so if I go back, I'll use a coupon. I wish restaurants would realize how off-putting grubbing for pennies is. If you offer a buffet, do what other buffets do and charge enough to cover a container of your most expensive food. Very likely NO ONE will do this, and they will make enough off the lower-cost items to make a hefty profit. But I'm annoyed enough to go back to the Empire buffet instead of eating here. read more

I, as a rule, am not a fan of buffets. This one has better food then most. The servers are very efficient. But the food is still mediocre at best. I know that for the $11 plus drink it is all you can eat, but is it worth eating? It is OK. The hibachi is a nice idea, but it is a little slow for a Buffet. I know that at least half of the problem is people put Way too much of items that take longer to cook. I also know they need to cook it so it is safe; we don't want any HACCP problems. The kitchen prep team needs to be cutting things into proper sizing so the meats are done while the veggies are crisp and tender, but they don't. They also need some steak knives for the customers to eat the shoe leather with, and they use too much soy. I tried the sushi despite the little voice in my head that said "this ain't the place". Man, I gotta listen to the little voice more often. The salt and pepper chicken and the salt and pepper shrimp were really awesome. General Tso's chicken was also a high point. The puddings on the dessert bar were really good as well. I am not commenting on the salad bar because if you mess up salad... close the doors. This place is good and believe me my dad has dragged me to a ton of chinese buffets in the area. The selection has a great variety and the price is very good. They have the sushi bar, grilling station, seafood, and both chinese and fried american cuisine. They even have a chocolate fountain but i don't want to know what things go in there especially with all the children running around. Same thing with the ice cream bar... I've seen kids sticking their whole body in the freezer. The decor is better than normal with a pretty cool fountain in the lobby but it has the typical do not touch signs and random cheesy decors that you always see. This place is an open buffet as of today 10/25/2020. They have about 75% of buffet lines stocked. Patrons are supposed to wear mask and gloves when serving themselves from the buffet. Most patrons followed this but not all and it appeared no one was enforcing the rule. For Sunday lunch $14.59 drink $1.89. There were less oriental style dishes than typical but enough to satisfy. I only gave 4 stars because while good, it is still buffet quality food. I enjoyed it. read more

Its a Asian Buffet, What did I expect? Well something worse than this. Teppanyaki is actually surprisingly good for a buffet. Server was prompt and kept our dishes cleared and the drinks filled. We never had to ask for refills once. The food was above average for Asian buffets. Teppanyaki grill was delicious, the soups were good (I had a small helping of 2 types). The Blue Crabs were small and not worth the picking and overcooked. I come from Southern MD - What did I expect? The fruit was rather bad. The fish was great along with most of the hot dishes. I have been looking for the Maryland/D.C. equiavlent to Yank Sing Buffet in Temple TX and I think I found it. The food and service are comparable to my old favorite and they have a chocolate fondue fountain which surprised me a lot, since most buffets wouldn't go to that sort of length. Only reason this place didn't get a full 5 stars is the weird glowing blue decor which didn't really fit the oriental theme. However, as a new place, it's pretty crowded right now on Friday/Saturday so expect to wait for a seat at least for a few minutes. read more

Bring a vomit bag in tow, because you're going to need it. This Teppanyucki (yes, yucky) Grill has emerged in the location of what was once one of the staples of Laurel, The Greene Turtle. It has crawled from a murky cesspool, bringing along what I can only describe as swamp food. My first inclination that this place was not so great was the spectacle of design of this "restaurant" (it hurts to even call it that). A large fish tank, streaming water--all there to distract you about the fact that you're eating food that's fit for the bottom of a dumpster. The area I sat in smelled like mildew and mold--similar to what another reviewer said. So, not only does the food taste like sweaty gym socks, but the restaurant smells like it too! What a treat. If you've been to any other major "Chinese" buffet, this is all going to look pretty similar--except the fact that the owners have slapped "Teppankyaki" in front of it to capitalize off of the Benihana and Sakura name. They have sushi, which tastes like garbage. The meat is obviously cheap--extremely fatty doused in sodium laden sauce to mask it. How the heck do you screw up rice? Ask the chefs at Teppanyaki Supreme Buffet and I'm sure they'll be glad to show you. They have those sugar coated donuts, random American food which tastes like they stole it from Cactus Willie's, another Laurel "favorite" that has luckily left. Word of advice: if the restaurant can't spell the name of the food correctly, don't eat it. Ex: Glaric Shrimp. I tried a few items, and then tried them again later that day, if you get my gist. I would suspect that most of the idiots that go here (yes, idiots--this parking lot is always packed) think that they are eating real Japanese food--I don't see how that's possible though. The restaurant claims to serve American, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Thai. What I see is food sitting in disgusting sauces under hot lamps--weird frankenstein creations that only someone who really hates humans (or animals) would create. UPDATE 10/16/11: To reviewer Cy G.: Interesting. Nothing in this review talks about buffets specifically--everything is pretty much specific to this place. The fact of the matter is that there are better choices in Laurel that won't well, make you ill. UPDATE 12/21/11: As an update, I'm pretty sure that the guest I took here on the day of this review got diagnosed with Giardia after eating here--and I've also heard numerous stories of people in the Laurel area getting food poisoning from here. I'm torn between giving Teppanyaki Grill three stars or four stars, but since the buffet is suffering from a great deal of negative reviews, I'll give them a four. You have to set your expectations properly when eating here. You are eating at a Chinese buffet; do not expect the staff to come by every five minutes to clear up plates and refill your drinks. When I went around 1:30pm, the place was PACKED. Literally every table was filled up; the staff was rushing everywhere trying to seat people, clear tables, and refill the empty stations. The staff doesn't have time to answer all your questions, so I understand how some customers may be disgusted by the service. The buffet is decorated quite nicely, with good lighting/music and all. There is a great variety of food for anyone to enjoy, including a sushi bar, hibachi grill, seafood, fresh meat of all kinds (both American and Chinese). The fruit bar had all types of fruits and the dessert bar had an assortments of cakes, pudding, cookies, etc. I took a small slice of every type of cake there and they were all delicious, especially the chocolate one. The ice cream station has ~8 flavors, which is a nice change from the typical vanilla/chocolate ice cream. Some of the dishes may not seem appetizing, but give them a try! Honestly, from the food to the atmosphere everything was just meh. Nothing great nothing horrendous just a solid meh.

We had this waiter named Danny. Good looking dude with a tattoo on hit right forearm but a terrible attitude. We were there for less then an hour and he handed us fortune cookies and we were rather confused. The maximum time is 2 hours. And so we complained about it amongst our table. We also cracked jokes about how they wanted to get rid of us but we were gonna spend the time we had paid for. So we spent about an hour and 15 minutes. We milked it out just to annoy or waiter, Danny. But as we were leaving he stuck the middle finger at us but luckily me and my little sister turned around just in time to see it. My daughter loves sushi, but only being 9 years old, she is not yet the connoisseur (thankfully). Whenever she begs for sushi, I try to opt for the cheapest around, which are usually at buffets. We tried this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The neon blue lights were actually pretty and I liked the dim lighting, unlike many Asian buffet places, it was not super bright. Everything was ok and pretty typical of other similar buffets, including the various kinds of sushi rolls. It was also pretty cheap--$14 for both me and my daughter at lunchtime on a Saturday. The highlight for my daughter was the chocolate fountain, to make her own chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows.
