We heard about this place from our hotel and are so thankful we went for dinner. My daughter got the hamburger and both my children were fighting over it. It was delicious! I got the fish tacos and loved them. Everything about them, from the corn tortilla to the slaw was amazing. My husband got the pollo Del Mar and was blown away. I would highly recommend this place. This really is a nice establishment on IH 45 tucked in right behind the Springhill Suites. When you walk in the place is decorated in a beautiful Latin atmosphere, has large TVs all around and is huge. The staff is extremely friendly polite and responsive. We had a mixture of the regular and happy hour offerings, which by the way happy hour is from 1 to 8 PM each weekday. We each had a mangonada margarita, these are freshly made drinks, this one included fresh mangoes, and it was well poured and I could only describe the taste as excellent and will be back for another one. We ordered a chicken quesadillas off the regular menu and the fajita nachos off of the happy hour menu and barely could finish the two. The taste was exceptional. They also have really good sauces to complement these and I highly recommend both dishes. Because we were so full, we did not order any other dishes but will be back to try some of those later. This place was amazing. I went twice in one day. I didn't know they played live music at night. I went right after my flight in and enjoyed their happy hour menu and the veggie fajitas. I forgot what it's called. Our meal, the restaurant environment, music, top shelf tequila, customer service, and even the fun pictures they took and framed for us (reasonable $$), was outstanding. The food was incredible and can stand on its own for any foodie/critic. We recommend the Pasta Del Mar, steak fajitas, fried plantains, tomatillo salsa, and asparagus, everything was delicious. They know how to cook peppers the right way for great salsa with a perfect blend of spice. Christopher was our server and was fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. From the moment we walked into this place to the time we left it was amazing. The ambiance of the outside when you drive in hit perfectly with the chic rows of string lights that made you feel at home. The clean, elegant and hip decorations inside caught me by surprise when we walked in. Our waitress was prompt and knew the menu well. We started with the pulled pork and empanadas. I'm a pulled pork snob and these were nice and juicy. I wasn't a fan of the raspberry sauce but the actual belly was good. Now for the empanadas... WOW.. WOW.. WOW. They were crispy on the edges and the meat in the middle was so flavorful. Probably the best empanadas I've ever had. The sauce I could have rubbed all over my body . My husband ordered the birria tacos and I ordered the Grill Mix that waitress recommended. The chicken was so moist and flavorful and I normally dont like restaurant chicken because its always over cooked and dry. But this chicken... man.. it was slappen. The beef was a little dry but I forgot to order it medium rare and it did come out well done, but the flavor was there. I didn't get to try the shrimp but I will tomorrow because I took them to go. The rice and beans were on point I could have just kept eating them. I was able to try a bite of my husband's birria tacos and they exploded with flavor. Out of everything we ate my favorite was pretty much everything . We WILL return in the near future. We found a new spot and we can tell the owner/ chef love what they do. This place is beautiful!!!! The menu is nice the only thing I did not like was the avocado toast still once I commented on it they tried to fix it the best way. I truly think the service was excellent in fixing the toast but even the replacement was disastrous. Inviting and fun Ambience upon walking in. Restaurant is pretty big. Has an outside sitting area which reminds me of a beer garden. The inside has a bar with beautiful black and white tiles along the bottom. The place is lit with a few chandeliers and a lovely mural of Frida Kahlo. Read that the chef is from Mexico City and the food was really good. The drinks were well mixed and we walked in, just in time to enjoy an hour of their happy hour. Stopped in awhile we were staying at the hotel next door. We sat at the bar to watch a game and eat some dinners. It's brightly lit with decorations and a fun atmosphere. The service was absolutely amazing from our bartender and waitress. The chips came with two kinds of salsa which were both so flavorful. We each ordered tacos and they tasted very good. 1st time here. Decor is nice. The service was great! Samuel was so attentive and funny. He made the experience enjoyable. The food was hit and miss. Started with dessert. Crème brûlée, was not. It was watery pudding. Sugar had been sprinkled on top and an attempt was made to caramelize, but it was not successful. The pork belly was really good and presented beautifully. Order them with corn tortillas, because they're home made! The salmon in cream caper sauce was delicate. The mashed potatoes made it a well balanced plate. The sea bass in cream sauce was not. The sauce was the color of brown mustard, but did have 4 pieces of a crawfish in it. When I ordered sea bass I expected a steak-like piece of fish, like salmon or tuna. It was a small butterflied filet. It was ordered grilled, but it had a coating/breading. The rice was bland and the asparagus was hard. The Diet Coke was top shelf! But the margaritas were forgettable. The menu is so interesting, kind of elevated Mexican food. And it was nice just being in the restaurant. We ordered tacos - fajita, chicken and shrimp. The orders came out with NO TORTILLAS. We waited almost 10 mins before tortillas were finally brought out to the table. My order did not come with veggies (grilled onions, bell peppers, pico de gallo) so I asked the waiter to bring some out. I watched the waiter service 3 other table after that request and he never once came back to bring the vegetables. My friend also ordered a alcoholic beverage which never came. The service was so bad that we didn't even finish our meals and requested the checks so we could leave. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you want average Tex-Mex food and 2 star customer service from the waitstaff. read more

We had the Grilled Oysters. They were so delicious, covered in garlic butter & broiled cheese, with some of tastiest chipotle sauce to top at your preference. Beef fajita served with a Jalapeño Cream sauce atop a poblano pepper stuffed with Oaxaca cheese with rice, refried beans, & pico. I was so damn good. All of the elements came together for perfection. My guest had the Caldo de Marisco (aka seafood soup). It had tons of shrimp, tilapia, carrots, potatoes onions, with rice & garlic bread. It came in this giant boat bowl. Very large portion. She said it was so delicious & the broth was so flavorful. She was floored by all the shrimp & tilapia. Sometimes some places don't give you tons of protein in the soups; so she was impressed by the abundance of seafood. Drinks: India Bonita & Michelda. I would give it 3-1/2 stars if available. Nice looking place for the area they have an outside part with a live band music isn't loud inside the actual restaurant. The service was ok the drinks took a long time to get and instead of asking what drinks we would like the first menu we got was the drink menu. It still took a bit to get the drinks not sure why it was busy busy . The ambiance is chill. The food is actually pretty damn good the shrimp tacos didn't have much flavor the rice tasted under cooked and the beans were good I wouldn't order those tacos again . The fajita with lobster,mashed potatoes and asparagus was great the meat had great flavor I added 3 shrimp for $9 more , the calamari was different it had like some asian zing style sauce I would order again but with the sauce on the side it's not the traditional dip calamari and it's a small portion. The other plate which was jalapeño rice I think with fajita and a chile was also great the 2 entrees were great .
