There were just too many people, so we decided to grab dinner elsewhere and come back another day. The next afternoon, we returned hoping for a less crowded experience, and we're glad we did. The female hosts were very friendly and let us know the rooftop bar had just opened, so of course we had to check it out! The bartenders were all wicked chill, and the views from upstairs were amazing. We loved the unique beer flavors and combinations, and the flight options let us sample quite a variety. Although we didn't try any food, they do have a food menu available. The entire place was very clean, which we appreciated. There is metered street parking both in the front and behind the building, so if you can't find a spot out front, be sure to check the back street. Overall, we highly recommend this brewery if you're visiting the area and would definitely stop by again!

The wait for anything in the building was 45 minutes and there were many open tables. I get it, perhaps they were short staffed, were on a shift flip or we were just misquoted. Not too big of a deal, so we just chose to dine outside at the food truck they run as one of their options during the summer. What a mistake and I hope the interior dining is better, but I can't comment on it other than the wait. Service at the truck was VERY SLOW, staff was not attentive and even somewhat rude. Food took FOREVER but it didn't really make sense because my dog came out still frozen in the center (or at least very chilled). I threw it away and spit out the first bite- I ordered a Brawt so I couldn't take the chance of getting sick. The other dogs we got were small and wimpy for the prices being paid. The smash burger- that was great and the was pretzel also great. Local sodas - delicious. Normally I would have complained and let them have the chance to fix the food, because shit happens, but the counter staff was so rude on the get, I assume they'd not care, and who knows... plus no one has 30 minutes to wait for a hot dog. $80 experiment that we ended up having to have second lunch to fix. I would say... come give it a try but don't get excited just because it keeps getting recommended. They're still figuring out how to be more than a brewery.

I also thing it being "panini style" on focaccia bread is a mistake because the bread was crumbly and I wonder if they have it on focaccia to differentiate it from the other sandwiches *shrug* My wife loved her pork sandwich the "Sweet Cheeks". Enough to keep seeking new ones out but even then that wouldn't last too terribly long and especially if I lived there. Midnight Sun Brewing is one of the Alaskan ones I tried a while back and I felt that the beer I had was very solid and enjoyable. In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. Love the brewery's swag and have a t-shirt or two and would love to score a hoodie that I had my eye on but it was out of stock so I'll try back later.

They've got a solid variety of Alaska brews on tap, way more than your average spot, so it's easy to try something new or stick with a favorite. It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

But I can tell you that what they make is totally unique ans delicious. There is something for almost everyone. I love 2 of their chicken pizzas- Spicy Thai (with peanut sauce) and Amazing Apricot (with Cilantro). They defy definition and are in a space all their own. The place is always SWAMPED with business because all 3 of their locations are wildly popular. My most recent visit with my adult children was not exception. Seating is made up of booths along the window perimeter, tables thru the middle area and a large bar area with more tables and stools along the counter. The menu selection is surprisingly diverse. I was happy to see halibut as the fish for their fish & chips, as it is often cod or other white fish. I find halibut to be the best. They also have a few dishes with nods to Korean and Thai flavors. There are pizzas and dinner salads too. I went with their bacon jam burger for dinner. It is cooked to your liking and has a grilled apple, cambozola, bacon jam, arugula & house mayo. This is the best burger I've had in a long time. The flavors complement each other so well. If you are a fan of bleu cheese you will really love the cambozola. It is creamy and oozy and is amazing on a burger. My spouse tried their Cuban sandwich and didn't like that the pickles were mediocre and didn't add to the overall flavors, and that the bread wasn't crisped or toasted in any way -- the way Cubans traditionally are. He also took a chance with a appetizer off the specials menu which he imaged was Brussels sprouts however it was shaved sautéed Brussels sprout leaves, over warm couscous with lots of fresh herbs, jalapeños, and heavily spiced with bold spices like fennel. It was bizarre and not like anything we've ever tried. We liked some of the flavors but all together didn't make sense to us so we sent it back, unfortunately. Our child tried the Mac and cheese that came with purple grapes and sorbet. The Mac and cheese was good although I'd advise SRH to try a larger noodle than a small shell so kids can stab it better and get it in their little mouths. The sorbet must be seasonal/rotating bc it was cinnamon honey pear and it was crazy delicious. I'd come back for just the sorbet tbh. Other than that our red-haired bespectacled server was fairly attentive and quite friendly, even on a very busy Friday dinner rush. Parking lot just outside seems easy enough as long as you can grab a spot at busy times. Will be back in the future for the fried halibut (and sorbet!).
