This is a great spot to go to for Taco Tuesday located in Long Beach can't beat dollar 20 tacos and $5 20 oz Margaritas $4 domestic beers and so on there's a lot of great gift shops around including arcade they validate parking up to two hours the weight can go from 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on what time you go so I recommend walking around enjoying the shops around the area while waiting for your table to be cold or go to the bar and grab some drinks was definitely great place to go. read more

Disappointed with Tequila Jack's tonight. We love going there but tonight we didn't even get a chance to get a table. There were so many people there waiting. I understand you can't tell people to leave after they're done eating but you should have a limit to dining. Other people would love to enjoy your guys food but waiting for 2 and a half hours is ridiculous. Had the jalapeño margarita, couple of beers, shrimp burrito, happy hour chimichanga & carnitas tacos. Ambiance was good & food/drink good. The service was mostly good, except for the one thing... I ordered a side of sour cream for the tacos, the server said "there is a small charge for that, ok?" Appreciate her asking, because many servers don't, but what I didn't appreciate was that "little charge" was a $1.50, which on my $4.50 appetizer is more than 30% of the cost! Why not be transparent about upcharges? People look at you like you're"cheap" when you ask about extra charges, but I'm sick of being surprised when condiments cost more than my food! read more

Here is the deal... Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed... Like 45 minutes packed. We put our name in and decided to stay. After all it is Sunday and everywhere (at least that is good) is crowded on a Sunday. After 45 minutes we got a awesome table outside on the patio. We were served with drinks, chips, and salsa very quickly. I ordered the fiesta salad and my compadre ordered the taco's. The food was delicious and very freshly cooked. Considering the amount of people eating in the restaurant the food was warm and we received it quickly. Very deserving of 5 stars for the quality of the food and the good level or service. read more

This place didn't amuse me at all. Came in with great expectations since they had good reviews. If you're Hispanic and are used to home cooked Mexican food, then you will be dissatisfied coming here. I ordered the fish tacos, not much flavor to them, the fish blends in with the tortilla taste, not savory at all. Also ordered a side of guacamole, it was a dark green turning brown color, also lacking taste. Maybe the fresh made guacamole is better? Looked good on the pictures others have posted here. We also ordered chicken strips, a quesadilla, and some buffalo wings. It's pretty hard to mess those items up so they were decent, could have just went to yard house or a Denny's if you want those. Over all I will not be returning here. Not to leave on a bad note but if you like ocean front dinning and love your alcohol in a giant goblet, this is the place to go! read more

This restaurant seems like a great idea until you realize it's infested with cockroaches. I've never written a bad yelp review but this restaurant warrants one. There were 3 roaches outside while we were waiting to be seated. We tried to ignore it thinking it was just outside. Then as we were eating our food my best friend had a roach crawling in her hair at our dinner table. We asked to speak to a manager and he took our food off the bill but told us it's a common problem because they come from the water. He treated us very nonchalantly and the waitresses laughed. Had the worst time at the restaurant. My family came from out of state and I would speak so highly of this place. We ordered our drinks, the server (Gerardo) rubbed a margarita on my nephews white shirt and didn't acknowledge it or apologize. I then ordered a Michelada and my husband wanted to taste it. Gerardo got wind that my husband tasted the Michelada but my husband (is 35 years old) left his wallet at home and didn't have his I. D. Gerardo then went on to appoint two girls at the front desk to watch us. We didn't think we were doing anything wrong so he sipped some more. The girls then went on to tell Gerardo and Gerardo then came to call out my husband in front of everyone. My husband is Mexican American with some tattoos. His sisters are american without tattoos. We arrived early, 5:30 PM to beat the rush. We were seated immediately but the waited 25-30 when I walked over to a manager to tell him we had not been offered water or seen a waiter to give our drink order. No apology, but he did send a waiter soon when was pretty attentive. We did try to add something to the order after our drinks arrived and it seemed like it was going to a big problem so we said don't bother. Food came it was ok but not very hot. So I decided to have dinner at this restaurant again to giving it another try after the first time I came a month ago and found a long hair in our guacamole dip,So we came and expected a wait(45 minutes). But what I didn't expect was the food portion, I ordered the chicken fajitas plate only to be served 4 thin pieces of chicken and raw vegetables not even sizzling when served too my table, my date was lucky that she ordered something else. Total bill was $45 with tip, I left a tip for our server, it wasn't his fault and he made everything possible to make the rest of my LAST visit here. Side note: The young girl at the front desk didn't want to validate my ticket saying some special event was going on, seeing I already had a bad vibe of this place I replied that there's a sign posted as your coming into the lot that states: $15 flat rate if not validated, she then stamped my ticket. First time here. Table side guacamole was delicious. I ordered the carne asada plate and food was exactly the way i wanted and was very tasty! Drinks are so good today and a great variety of tequila. If I can do a negative five stars over here at Yelp, I would do so. That's how horrible this place is. My best friend decided to celebrate his 30th birthday here and so all our friends came. It was also Game 5 of MLB, LA Dodgers vs Houston Astros. Everybody was tuned to the game since it was a make or break for the Dodgers. It was around maybe 10pm Sunday, October 29, 2017. Now what exactly happened was I experienced a bad fall inside the restaurant. I stepped on something slippery at the front by the tables by the entrance of the restaurant. I was losing my balance and tried to still fall with poise and grace because at that very moment all I could think of was embarrassment. So I fell really badly. I began to feel my left knee feeling a lot of pain. It was hurting so much that I wanna cry. Mind you, nobody from the restaurant checked how I was or assisted me when it happened. Everybody's eyes were on the baseball game. Now, my other best friend got really mad because apparently before I got there, another guest slipped too. All my friends were really concerned because I told them that I was just gonna go home and not stay with them since I was badly hurt. That's when they took it upon themselves to speak out for me. They mentioned it to one of the lady server and how that employee handled that was great as far as customer service is concerned. She was empathic, sympathetic and apologetic. My friends told her to mention it to the manager and so a manager named "Oscar" who didn't provide his last name made everything just worse. He was pretty much the opposite of the lady server. He was fighting us and pretty much put the blame on the guest like myself since he said I was wearing 4 in heels and it's my fault I fell inside their restaurant. Now that pair of heels of mine is actually what I use for dancing as well so with that being said, they're comfortable. I never fall or trip in those heels not until Tequilla Jack's. So pretty much the manager Oscar was harsh and rude for telling those comments. He lacked customer service skills and we all question his position because a manager won't handle a situation like that the way he handled ours. So does he expect everyone to wear flip flops or flats to their restaurant? If so, put a sign or indicate that to all Tequilla Jack's website. No heels allowed which is obviously absurd. Now the other lady who also slipped was actually wearing flats. My friends said nobody came as well to check up on her. She and her friends left the restaurant without any consolation whatsoever from the restaurant. Anyway, I was given a bag of ice. However, how the manager Oscar handled the incident speaks for itself how the rest of his employees are the same. Worst restaurant ever! We will all not coming back! Finally decided to check this place out. Great vibe and location which is why it gets 3 stars. Came on a Saturday night and surprisingly didn't have to wait for a table at the bar. Although it was busy! Got the shrimp burrito w/ salsa verde and it was pretty good and decently priced. The banana margarita was REALLY good- the best drink I tried. Mango and raspberry margarita were also good. Also had a michelada and it was TERRIBLE. Took one sip and couldn't drink it. I suspect they make it with Bloody Mary mix. They have a great taco tuesday/happy hour where i believe tacos are between $1-$2 each! Also the hours of happiness is all day long ! Hell yeah! I always get the veggie tacos and they never disappoint, so good and they give a generous amount of veggies in each taco. Im pretty sure our server was named Bryce. Definitely ask for him if you ever come here. He was so accommodating and super personable and sure I was liquored up but I've had some careless servers here, however he is by far the best! I am also a server and I know the industry well, so I really appreciate a server that still manages to give quality service with great energy to every table even when the restaurant is extremely busy, as it was when I came recently. read more

Food today was just okay. I had the chicken tortilla soup to start. Which was tomato based with cubed chicken, tortilla strips, sour cream and avocado. Not much flavor here, I wouldn't recommend it . If you're looking for a Mexican food dinner with a great atmosphere, Tequila Jacks is your place! The wait outside feels like waiting outside of a nightclub, listening to the loud music and loud voices from inside. Once you get in the ambiance is exactly as you would expect: fun, loud, and boisterous! It seemed like everyone in the restaurant had a few margaritas, understandable because the margaritas here are exactly how they should be- practically in fish bowls with generous amounts of tequila. Don't judge this place to be "trashy" however, the presentation of their food brings the class to this upbeat restaurant. Their plates have a nice presentation and their flavor is decent. I ordered shrimp in the salsa verde with a side of veggies instead of rice. The shrimp was just okay- the salsa was not spicy enough for my taste and a bit too watery. Probably the biggest standouts were the guacamole (made right in-front of you! Ahhh!) and the corn pudding they serve with many plates here and literally tastes like what a bite of an ultra-sweet and greasy bite of a tamale from heaven would taste like. Today I had the steak burrito and it was very good , it had a good amount of sauce and cheese and the meat was very tasty.
