The best Mexican cuisine I have tasted. I'm just having a classic taco with rice and it melts in my mouth. I will definitely come here again. The food was super good. I had wished the bartender told us the drink specials as Tuesdays they have a special which might have saved us some money. But everythign was nice and the staff super friendly. We've been coming here for 20 years and it's always a very welcoming place. Great for celebrating birthdays or meeting up with friends. My family went on Sunday and the food was excellent. My 13 year-old picky eater said that the tortillas for his fajitas were even better than than the last time we were there. The chips were house made and fresh. My Wilson margarita was perfect. The enchiladas mole were authentic and delicious. The manager came over to make sure everything was super and it was. Enjoy a fun, family atmosphere for dinner and a party atmosphere during the holidays! I bought a burrito and nachos through Grubhub and wasn't careful enough to catch it on time that I got a burrito with meat (I'm a vegetarian). The owner, Rob, answered the phone and was happy to have the kitchen whip me up another burrito and even said he himself would bring it over if they weren't so slammed. I live nearby so I was happy to do a little work for my burrito, and he came out to my car and was so pleasant. Him being so nice about my mistake makes me want to come there in the future, and I would advise anyone to go there, too, since they're so accommodating and kind! read more

A solid 4 with a whole star added on just because of the bar. Ok I'm not a big drinker, I dine out with family and friends but when we want to go someplace to relax and just hang out, this is it. Right off the bat - yes it gets super noisy some days. Weekends there's a mariachi band which can get pretty loud and sometimes doesn't play Mexican music but that's beside the point and keeps it amusing. The service is pretty much 9 times out of ten super friendly. It's also a good family place which means bring the little ones but please don't let them get out of hand. The managers also seem to be nice and actually care how the restaurant is running. The food is probably a solid 3 out of 5 for me. Maybe even an extra half. The steak is good as is the cochinita pibil although I'm spoiled by another restaurant when it comes to that. I generally stick to the safer fare here, a little more Americanized in my opinion. However I can't really think of a meal that I haven't enjoyed and pretty much completely finished. The desserts are very good. Coconut creme brûlée tastes like the perfect balance of coconut and custard not just a creme brûlée with some shredded coconut thrown in. I can pretty much never skip dessert here. Ice cream selection comes from Longford's right nearby. The drinks are also awesome. I try to chance a new one every time I go and I'm almost never disappointed with those either. Beware, they're sweet and can pack a hidden punch but I love them anyway. I went against my own rule. Don't eat at a Mexican restaurant where you don't see Mexicans eating! This place has really beautiful decor and if you're a bar rat, then the bar is for you. The bar was packed. My second warning sign was that they did not sell horchata!! Sacrilege!!! I ordered a chimichanga. What arrived were 3 things that looked like it came from the frozen food section at Walmart! It had no flavor whatsoever! How is that even possible at a "Mexican restaurant"? I had to return them they were that bad. They were definitely pre made frozen crap that they deep fried, garnished nicely. It looked pretty, but one bite and you're done! My friend ordered steak tacos that were not much better, but at least edible. The owner came out and he was a very nice guy. He apologized and asked if he could get me something else? I was done. This restaurant has a nice outdoor igloo set up. The food is good as well. I gave 3 stars because there is a 1hr 45minute time limit at the tables however the restaurant turn around time was slow on a Friday evening. There are a few ok things for vegetarians. My wife likes it but I'm not a fan at all. The prices are way too high compared to what you're getting. I don't understand how this large place works when you can find really good authentic Mexican food for less than half the price in New Rochelle and Port Chester. ***Tequila Sunrise has really gone down hill! I've been a loyal customer of Tequila Sunrise for over 15 years, and I have always highly recommended this establishment to many others. I've hosted large dinners here with excellent service in the past. However, since a recent change in management several years ago, the food (taste, quality, presentation) and service has drastically declined. I have tried to support them many times during the pandemic by ordering online; however, EVERY time I ordered they made a mistake on the order. Although the manager, Rob, is quick to make up for the mishaps, he has not done anything to prevent them from happening again as they keep occurring. The last, and final, time my family ordered from Tequila Sunrise, there was an item missing in our order per usual. We called to report the issue; however, the rude man who answered the phone cut me off and said, "I know I know, Rob is on his way already" and hung up. After waiting 30 minute, nothing being delivered, and the food getting cold, we called and spoke to Rob, who said he just delivered the items to our house. It turns out they messed up ANOTHER order (which is common here) and corrected their order. Rob was never made aware because the rude worker cut me off when I called, didn't let me speak, and hung up on me. H O R R I B L E. All in all, used to be a great place that got driven in the ground by horrible management. AVOID!!!! read more

All beans are refried which makes the place seem cheap and in no way a healthy option. I ordered fajitas but asked for them with corn tortillas instead of the flour ones on the menu and they said that there would be an additional charge! I declined the change since the initial cost of the meal was already expensive. Fajitas were steaming hot, shrimp was okay but overall there was no flavor. Questo fundido arrives and it was a solid block even served over the mini candle. We had to cut it with knives to serve it and it was barely warm. The nachos...the repeat experience did not fair in the restaurant's favor I once again received 8 delicately placed chips with munster cheese as stated on the menu (so authentic) and a huge serving of refried beans and shaved chicken that looked more like a garnish. We ordered a margarita with a flavor and the waiter returned after a few minutes saying they were out of that specific flavor so we chose another. The waiter comes back with the margaritas and disappears, we take a sip but notice there is no flavor! And this is a few extra dollars. We were seated outside so good luck trying to flag down a waiter. The next time the waiter showed up was to give us the check. You can't get your elbow over them, you cant hang your purse on them, and last night I went to go scoot my chair in closer to the table and sliced my whole hand open on something apparently VERY sharp on the bottom of the seat. Food is ok, a bit bland. Drinks are good. However, we came here twice and both times they charged us extra for our drinks. We ordered mojitos, which are 12$ each, with a flavor, which is +1$ extra, making it a total of 13$. Both times we got charged 15$ for each drink. When we pointed the error, BOTH TIMES the manager says that it is 15$ because we added flavors to our mojitos. NOTE that the flavors are either 1 or 2$ extra, so the most a drink would've cost is 14$. Although the price was fixed later on, the manager did not seemed interested in dealing with the price error, as if he already knows what is going on and refuses to do anything about it. So I am pretty upset that the restaurant tried to trick us to pay more money than we were suppose to twice in a row. So I've been here a few times. The first two times were okay. But last night I went to tequila sunrise and it was a very low experience. The staff seemed to be kind of rushing when we were deciding what to order. We came for a birthday surprise and when we told them who it birthday it was in English and in spanish they and wrote down the name on a piece of paper. They still managed to mess up the surprise. Clearly they didn't pay too close attention. And when I had asked for separate checks. The waiter got annoyed that we had asked for it and gave me a snarky response about not letting him know before hand. Like why can't they just separate the checks after? And the next morning. Me and a member of our party got sick. The other times I went I was okay but after last night it wasn't. I came onto Yelp and saw they have 7 different health code violations. No wonder. They aren't clean and don't seem to care about sanitation. Very careless. I Highly would not recommend coming here. Food isn't that great and could potentially make you sick. I am HIGHLY upset and irritated we just walk out of the place 5 mins ago. I come here and enjoy the food. And have nothing bad to say about the food itself, but the service on the other hand seems likes its pick and choose and that's not how you treat customers. We all should be served fairly and equally, not determined by the number of people at the table or dollar signs in the waiters eyes because that's what it seems they only care about. I came here today to celebrate my birthday but ended up walking out very disappointed and I won't be coming back anymore. I wanted a vegan dish because i was fasting and the waiter went above and beyond to accommodate me. I had vegetables sopes with no dairy and they were to die for. Went down memory lane today to a place I've been going to for over 35 years! Tequila Sunrise and Pancho Villas before that. A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Larchmont recently had the tragedy of their barrel roof tumbling down! But they are painting, repairing and having a re opening soon! In the mean time they are open and we stopped by for a nice lunch today! We started with, of course, their fruity white sangrias to go with their perfectly spicy, table side made, guacamole! Who needs more?!? But with such an amazing menu, why stop there! My beef Chimichangas were absolutely yummy with Mexican rice and a side of creamy refried beans! My partners chicken quesadillas were good but could have been hotter and cheese melted more but it happens! We advised our waiter of this and he told us our drinks were on the house! We were happy! This was important to see, because oops happen in the best of restaurants, it's how they handle it that matters! Kudos to Tequila Sunrise! We met the manager Linda, who was a delight and advised us her daughter in law Melissa Perez has owned the restaurant for the past five years! They now have a weekend brunch from 11-2pm!! Ordered delivery from Grubhub and after waiting 90 mins called the restaurant to see what was going on. Rob was extremely helpful and explained what happened and even drove the food over himself. Food was delicious and worth the wait! Definitely recommend the quesados! This place is terrible. They denied my real ID, asked for multiple IDs, when I am of legal drinking age just with a Virginia ID. They said they only accept NY IDs and got quite aggressive with my entire party of friends who were all of legal drinking age. I felt harassed and scared at the temperament of the server, and strongly recommend that no one spend their money at this place. They seemed quite sketchy and I truly cannot believe the service we received. We walked out with people yelling at us - I've never had an experience like this in my life. Tequila Sunrise is great for birthday parties and other large gatherings. The food is pretty good, but a bit on the pricey side. The guacamole (one of my favorite foods/condiments) is very good, but everything else on par. Unless you like very loud (Mariachi band starts at 7), crowded restaurants with slower than most people like service, I would avoid it for a quick eat or relaxing dinner with the family. Kids love all the excitement here though, and their sheiks of delight may sometime rival the loudness of the Mariachi band. Bleh. 1. I don't know where the Mariachi was. I couldn't even hear any music. 2. My frozen margarita was out of a slushie machine. It was $9 and I'm pretty sure there was no alcohol In it at all. It was so frozen I wasn't even done with it when we were leaving. Probably why I am cranky writing this review. I need at least two margaritas when I eat Mexican. 3. My chicken fajitas were really just disappointing. Half the veggies were barely cooked. The chicken was well marinated but it almost seemed like it was marinated in yogurt. It tastes just like chicken souvlaki and it threw me off. The chicken were in large pieces. So I had to cut it up before putting it into the tortillas- annoying. The service was fast but that really is the only positive thing that I can point out. Food wasn't terrible but I won't be coming back. I have to give tequila 5 stars. This restaurant has been the local Mexican joint as long as I've lived here. While in the past I have had a hit or miss day all in all they deserve this review. I am grateful for the high quality decor and ambiance. The chairs alone are carved wood and the painting all around the restaurant is beautiful and very true to Mexico. Not like its competitors with cheap tacky over done atmosphere. Whoever has reviewed rio bravo as a better option clearly had no standards in food. They probably think the food is bland because it doesn't come prepackaged and it's not marinated in high fructose corn syrup and 1,000 added flavors. Rio bravo is literally a low grade chain. Tequila makes fresh food, Not over seasoned or salty. The menu is standard but everything is customizable and pretty consistent. Only complaints I'm not a fan of their sangria. Too sweet read more

I thought I would give this place another shot, and I will say this time was better but it was nothing more than average. Pricing: pretty expensive in comparison to other Mexican restaurants . Expect to pay 15 or more Presentation : much more spacey than other restaurants . Taste : I hate to say that it's rather mediocre , the salsa lacked zest, the tacos were greasy and falling apart. We went here for a birthday dinner for Brian. To our surprise, there was a house Mariachi band that played the entire night. The place was packed with loud parties, children and other rowdy groups celebrating birthdays and special occassions. Definitely not a place to go for a quiet dinner. We went with the homemade sangria. It was fantastic! Really tasty. We kept picking out all of the freshly sliced fruit to much on. We ended up drinking two pitchers of it, it was that good. For dinner we went with the Seafood Paella for Two. Really, the dish could feed at least four people. It was huge! It was loaded with yellow rice, scallops, clams, and a lobster for each. Really, really satisfying and worth the $50 price tag. After dinner, the Mariachi band sang "Happy Birthday" to Brian and placed a gigantic sombrero on his head. Coworkers and I took a ride to Larchmont to find a place for lunch and stumbled upon tequila sunrise, the interior is utterly delightful however the food was subpar and the service was terrible. It seemed we were the first for lunch , food took a long time to come out and had tacos to go " make it them yourself " style which for $14 dollars is ridiculous. The nachos were literally just 8 tortilla chips individually covered with cheese and beans. We weren't told that the happy hour deals (which is what brought us into the restaurant), was only at the bar. So, we weren't to get any good deals. Beers were $6 all around.
