Our office just moved to Bellevue and the co-workers and I have been exploring the area looking for good food joints to check out. Tried Teriyaki Express a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce. The portions are generous and I would say the garlic sauce made the meal. So goood! My co worker was the one that picked up the order for us. She mentioned that the person taking the orders did not give good service. My boss went in the next day and said that same thing, which is why I have lowered my rating. Overall I am happy with this place and definitely plan on going back soon. read more

i have been trying to give this place a chance. on my fourth time in i ordered the spicey shrimp tempura roll and i wanted the Mongolian beef.........i was told at 4:30pm they had no more beef and i settled for chicken instead. the roll was ICE COLD......never had i before exprienced ice cold rice and shrimp....it was made ahead and put into the fridge.....not freshly made. the Mongolian chicken was soaking in their teriyaki sauce and zero hottness to it......the gave me hot sauce on the side to add.....they have done this before when i asked for spicey beef teriyaki. you have to cook the food with the hot sauce !! for both these dishes i paid 25.00 for a disapointing dinner. sorry i won't be coming back......bad food....bad prepping of food.....and over priced. :( read more

So, this place is right around the corner from my office. I've found the food consistent in preparation and pretty much "middle of the road" quality. What really bothers me about the game experience, though, is how the mood of the guy taking your order/money. Kill this guy with kindness and you'll receive in return something g just short of contempt... not a smile, barely an utterance of anything construed as friendly... angry I'd say. Consistently. This place is a block away from my workplace, and I come here about 2-3 times per week for lunch (take-out). My favorite is their General Tsao's chicken. It's sweet with some hints of peppery flavor. Super love the tangerine sauce. I also like their crispy chicken with garlic sauce. Parking is easy - they have their own lot. Place is clean and service is great. I usually call before I leave my workplace, and by the time I reach there (in 5 mins), my food's ready. Can't ask for more! read more

I love this place. They make the best spicy chicken and gyoza. I placed a to go order and it was missing my shrimp fried rice when I got home. I called them and let them know and they were so nice and apologetic and quickly made my order of rice for me. I've been going here for years and will continue to do so. I have tried most of the teriyaki restaurants in the area, and this is the one that I always come back to. When my brother was here from out of town, I took him for lunch and the next time he was here....of all the places we could have gone for dinner...he picked this one. The food is good, but service is pretty terrible and only recently. Things forgotten from orders the last few times, orders that are sitting waiting but haven't been called out. One of the main issues is that they don't seem to understand one very basic tenant of customer service, if you have a line of people waiting in the restaurant, DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE. I watched it happen over and over while the line got longer. Someone would be staring her in the face waiting to order and she picks up the phone and takes an order. Come on now. This is my favorite teriyaki place. I've been going here every couple months for the past 3+ years. The chicken (slightly grilled) is great and I enjoy the salad that comes with. Plenty of food is provided, and I can spread it out to two meals it I'm not too hungry. TIP: get a few extra sauces or soy sauce for the rice -and the meal's complete. read more

Really enjoyed the kalbi ribs. It's hard to find places that actually have the correct sauce. This was an excellent meal. I ordered take out, so I can't quite speak to the atmosphere of the location. Teriyaki restaurants can be a dime a dozen. For the Bellevue area this is my favorite. A large helping of food and high quality chicken is what attracts me. Food is fresh and always tastes good for that teriyaki craving. Its a small place inside so watch out for the lunch rush as all the local automotive business's know this lunch spot. read more

The prices are higher compared with other places within a few miles and the quality/portions are lower...should have learned the first time, but did want to give them a 2nd & 3rd chance. Fried rice....ZERO flavor i pretty much just taste egg but the chicken is great! large portions for the price. This has been my go to teriyaki lunch spot near kirkland since I found it a couple of years ago. I'll even go as far to say it is the best teriyaki I've had. I just about always get the chicken teriyaki and fried rice or the chicken teriyaki and gyoza lunch combo. The chicken is moist with good flavor and just enough sauce. The fried rice is smooth and buttery. And even the salad dressing makes my mouth water. One time I tried the crispy garlic chicken and felt that it was just ok. It was prepared well with good ingredients, but just didn't do it for me. Some day I'll try some other things on the menu. This place was super busy during weekday lunchtime rush around 12:30. I naturally had high hopes for the food as it has lots of customers. I was supremely disappointed. Walking in and trying to order for the first time, it was apparent that most people call ahead and avoid waiting. The menu is not terribly clear on how the Combination Plates work (it just says Chicken + X, doesn't really make clear that the Chicken is Teriyaki). After ordering, I waited about 15 minutes for food. I ordered two entrees that come with salad, and the salad is boxed on the side. The food was packed in one bag that was not big enough, causing the sauce to leak out on the bottom and some leaked out the side of the bag, making a small mess when I got back to my office. Most importantly, the food was really dry. Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki were both burnt. The Chicken Teriyaki had bits that were just totally inedible. Also, there is not enough rice (two small scoops) to go with all of the meat - perhaps that is why many feel so positive because the portion is huge. The one redeeming part was the salad, which was fresh and had dressing on the side. I was hoping this would be my new go-to Teriyaki spot on the Eastside, but it will probably be just an occasional stop if at all. read more

Just about what you would expect from a local Teriyaki joint in an industrial section of Bellevue. Clean, but small. I would expect this place to fill up quickly for lunch. Wasn't crowded when I was there, but I eat at 11:30. They have all the standard Teriyaki joint food. Teriyaki with chicken, pork, beef, salmon and tofu. They do have Tempura and fried rice which you don't normally see at this type of place. The guy next to me go the salmon teriyaki and it looked really good. For my first visit, I got the standard "daily special" which is chicken, rice, gyoza and salad. I thought all of the items were high quality. The salad dressing was a creamy lemon type dressing. The gyoza and sauce I thought were excellent, some of the best I've had and the chicken was good, cooked properly and the sauce was spot on. Prices seem pretty standard for what I have seen on the Eastside. Daily special is $6.95 I will probably be going here frequently since this is the best carry out Teriyaki I have found close to downtown Bellevue. I have had better at regular sit down Japanese restaurants, but for carry out, this is the best! read more
