    Steak Teriyaki Bowl~ Soo yummy!!
    Rachelle P.

We decided to stop in for a late lunch and ordered the Edamame, Salmon Teriyaki and Steak Teriyaki. Hubby, our toddler and I enjoyed our flavorful meals! The edamame was salty, but they gladly replaced it! We'd rate them 4/5 stars, great customer service and seating available! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: You Know by Jeff Kaale

Disappointing I honestly don't know how you mess up chicken teriyaki, but somehow this place managed to do just that. Nothing about the food tasted remotely authentic. We ordered two different bowls--both were a letdown. The steak was tough, dry, and completely unseasoned, while the spicy chicken was also dry and tasted more like Taco Bell hot sauce than anything Asian-inspired. We tried the "mad sauce" on the side, and it basically just smelled and tasted like Taco Bell's mild sauce. The rice was plain long-grain that crumbled apart, and the veggies were either overcooked or still partially raw--no in-between. Even the drinks were bad. The tea tasted like dirty water, and the Dr Pepper had a strange, off-putting aftertaste. Wouldn't recommend. Definitely not coming back.

Baaaaad visit. Dude burned the hell out of my food (chicken) Then put it in the box and sent it out. The steak pieces on the other hand were ice cold. Jeezus, and to top it off the veg were non existent and yellow. Like he swept it up of the dam floor. This was terrible!!!!!! Served it dry and gave me death stares for asking for a sauce. Manager: Tell Mush Mouth to attempt enunciating at the register. 17.75$ to boot. 1/19/25. Must've got the Juneteenth special. Awful.

From left teriyaki chix breast; teriyaki chix tofu; teriyaki and orange chix fried rice; yakisoba noodles.

Good: fast service, large bowl is huge, offers brown rice, orange chix good, teriyaki chix was decent, and tofu was good. Okay: Teriyaki chix breast was dry, Yakisoba noodle side was very salty, veggies in the large bowl was soggy, not much texture. Sides are overpriced. Large bowls are great value, 2 meals.

My mom and I came in to give it a try and the food was pretty good. The employee that took our order was nice. It was pretty nice and clean inside.

SIR, WOULD YOU LIKE RAT TURDS OR ROACHES WITH YOUR STEAK?…read more I work hard for my money and when I go out to eat, I expect certain standards. Everybody's standards can vary so we authorize our government to set a general level that we all can agree on. This is the role of the Restaurant Health Inspector. I want to be fair, but I also think customers deserve to know when there appears to be a REPEATED food-safety pattern. According to Sacramento County health inspectors, Black Angus on Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights was RED-CARDED on March 2, and then again on June 23, 2026. The reported violations included rodent droppings in multiple areas, cockroach activity, improper food storage, and sanitation concerns. The restaurant was reinspected the next day and reopened with a green card. My concern is not just one inspection. My concern is the repeated nature of the problem. If a restaurant is closed for rodents, roaches, and sanitation problems, then later has another closure or serious pest-related inspection issue, that raises a fair question: was the underlying problem truly corrected, or was it only cleaned up enough to pass the follow-up inspection and get a green card? A green placard means the restaurant passed that inspection. It does not erase the history. Repeated pest and sanitation issues should matter to customers, especially when choosing where to spend their money and where to eat. Here is the inspection information so people can review it for themselves: https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/sacramento/permit/?permitID=92928452-A99F-48A4-94F1-2758EB0C9C7A

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. I decided to wait for my friends to arrive, and while waiting, I took a look at the food and drink menu. Upon arrival of the two friends, we ordered cocktails first and then decided on food. I ordered the Pink Pony and later the cosmopolitan, and eggs benedict for breakfast. My meal was quite delicious and I finished every morsel on my plate. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I really enjoyed the potatos. We were seated in the interior dining room to the left of the entry and I did not check out the other interior areas of the restaurant, but I loved the Mid Century Modern / Palm Springs vibe. I especially loved the "fly fan" on each table to use because the bar behind where we were sitting was open to the outside. We did not have an issue with flies but the fans are a nice and considerate touch. Jaden provided excellent customer service, checking back as our drinks got low, and checking back on the food, which we all very much enjoyed. When we left there was some live music outside, but we did not stay as it was a pretty warm Sunday on 6/14/26, but I will most definitely return. I'm especially looking forward to returning in the evening when the weather gets a little cooler toward the end of summer. This is a really fun place, with great food and great service!

We also tried the loaded potato skins, they were great but I was pretty full by the time they came so we left a wounded soldier. The tumbleweed onion straws were also fantastic! My friends ordered prime rib, kabobs and the filet mignon and were nice enough to share! The prime rib is served on a sizzling plate with au jus, and was fantastic! The filet was well seasoned and the kabobs were good, although I prefer a little more rare. The appetizer happy hour menu had $6 and $8 items, food and drinks. The server / hostess guestured and said "Sit anywhere". But almost all the tables were quite high and require mobility. They were those raised chairs and tables you almost have to climb up to sit. And at the end of the counter there was a lowered portion with two seats that were accessible. However, they were using this counter space for storage with bunches/little buckets of utensils, ketchups, a dirty dish rag, napkins, other various items. To the credit of the man working at the counter part, he did offer to clear it up for me. I did refuse because if you only have two accessible seats inside, using that space as storage sends a message that my business isn't wanted. Same with stores that use the only accessible changing room as storage for all the put backs. It's the principle of the thing. My husband and I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I have just moved to the area a couple of months ago and had a good time at one of the coffee shops the week before nearby and like the little downtown Fair Oaks vibe for walking around, local businesses, etc. I hope in the future they can be ready for disabled folks like myself in a similar way that they are for all patrons.

Our server seems a bit scattered and indifferent. One of our guest ordered a pour and a half of a red wine and got a half pour portion. Our little one wanted filet mignon but didn't really care for the sides that come with the entree. So the server told us they can do just the protein and it will be about $27 for the plate to which we were ok with. The food came out as a full entree with the sides. When questioned, the server was non- apologetic. Our little tyke ended up with the most expensive item on the bill at $55! Sad to say that after our meal, we unanimously decided this restaurant will be off our list.
