We work just around the corner from this place and I was very excited to hear of a Japanese family owned restaurant opening up. The chicken, steak and rib plates are awesome - very tasty food and a great quick option for lunch or dinner. If you are very hungry, the bowls may not be enough food, however I am anxiously awaiting trying all of the sides. The tsukemono (japanese pickles) is very authentic - the eggplant has a hint of shiso (japanese herb) and super crisp. The stew is going to be a staple for me over the winter especially when I'm fighting off a cold and feeling like some comfort food. Growing up in L.A., I've been thinking that this area really needs some authentic Japanese food, and the owners of this establishment must have been reading my mind! Okonomiyaki - if you have no clue what this dish is, and no desire to learn, turn around and don't even bother coming to this restaurant. It'll be a complete waste of your time. On the other hand, if you know what this dish is, you probably already know about this restaurant, and are just checking to see if everyone else likes the place as much as you do. And, you also probably know more about the dish than I do, too. Ironically, this isn't even a favorite dish of mine, personally.... though visually, the dancing fish flakes were always neat. Somehow, someone brilliant transplanted street vendor / comfort food from the streets of Japan all the way to smack dab middle of nowhere Morrisville. But, I will be leaving my imprint as I go to the restaurant on a weekly basis, if not more. Teriyakin' just serves good real, down to earth, Japanese food. Nothing "fancy", and complete authentic. Instead of those fake "Japanese" restaurants with non-Japanese owners, and worse yet, non-Japanese cooks(!)... this is simply the real deal. I have driven by this little restaurant several times a week for the past few months and have been wanting to try it. Finally tonight, I stopped in. I am by no means, a Japanese food connoisseur, but do occasionally have a hankering for some good stir fry or sushi. The menu was simple, which I appreciated. There is nothing worse for me than looking at a menu with 6000 options when I'm not familiar with the food to begin with. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. I appreciated that they spoke Japanese as well as many of the guests (Japanese family cooking Japanese food, good sign #1) (Japanese customers eating food from the restaurant, good sign #2).. I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order "to go", but I didn't mind as everything is cooked fresh, and got to enjoy the aromas passing by as guests received their orders. I sat down at home and opened my bowl of chicken over rice. It was surprisingly very good! The chicken tasted fresh and I couldn't get enough of the rice, the next time I go in, I will try to find out their secret. Being conveniently located on my drive home and very reasonably priced this will definitely become a staple in my home. read more

Teriyakin' is one of my splurge lunch spots. I consider it a splurge because I try to spend less than $10 for lunch. I buy the same plate every visit - The Works. I find it filling and I love all of the meats included. I enjoy the pasta salad, cabbage salad (the ginger dressing is the best!) and even the orange garnish (lol). This place reminds me very much of your hole-in-the-wall restaurants you find all over Japan. I really do wish they would serve the okonomiyaki and yakisoba at lunch time since I rarely have a reason to be in RTP at dinner. While the food wouldn't be classified as the best by Japanese standards, it's very solid food and where I head to when I'm feeling homesick for Japan and don't want to go through the trouble of making the food myself. I love this place. So Hibachi is my go to for any kind of take out other than Greek, and Teriyakin does it correctly. I know I'm not the only one who hates soggy rice, over cooked mushy vegetables, and dry, flavorless meat. Teriyakin is INCREDIBLY fresh. The white rice is tossed very lightly with their pink shrimp sauce (the good stuff, the only reason to get hibachi anyways) and teriyaki sauce. The meat or fish you get if very fresh, decently sized, and a decent cut of meat. Portions are realistic, and filling, and there are green onions and a lemon wedge on top. Extra sauce is at the counter, and they are always done quickly for me to grab and go back to the office or home to my family. My friend says their Gyoza is out of this world too, and I agree its hard to find good dumplings. Friendly staff, never gotten the wrong thing, quick service, clean place. Love it! read more

The rice bowls almost had too much rice, but the sushi and miso combo had about the perfect portion of food. It was almost too expensive, but I felt that the quality was worth it. We ordered takeout at the restaurant and it was done in a jiffy. One thing that would be better for the menu would be a better description for the meals. I have been here twice and each time was very happy with the food, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant. On our first visit, the man working the register explained the menu to us and made several recommendations which we found very helpful. Especially since he took the time to talk to us when we came towards the end of the night. I was afraid the meat was going to be too fatty for me and was very happy to discover this was not the case. I've been eating at this place for the past few months, about at least once weekly, for lunch. DEFINITELY recommended. I've never actually eaten inside the restaurant as I come during my lunch hour and bring it back to work, but the interior is cozy and quite clean. The Japanese music videos are lovely to watch while waiting for your food! However, I would not recommend going during the lunch rush hour unles you call ahead; you may find yourself waiting for a while for your food, obviously, especially if you're on a tight schedule. The restaurant does look mostly family run, which I can appreciate. I grew up in a family that ran a Chinese take out and it's a pretty hard life if you don't hire a lot of help. Anyway, aside from that, the food qualty is great! I used to go to Neo Japan down the street across from the Walmart before I discovered this place and Teriyakin' completely BLOWS Neo Japan out the water. While Neo Japan trumps them on portions, the quality of their food is mostly just eh. Filling, but not nearly as enjoyable or delicious. Teriyakin's bowl sizes are enough to fill me, though I'm a 5"1 girl, so my appetite is not very big compared to some others :) So far, I've had their steak and chicken bowl, suki bowl, yakisoba and okonomiyaki. All delicious, though for people who are more conservative in their tastes, I'd recommend the chicken bowl. read more

I needed an Asian fix and wasn't sure where to go when a friend suggested Teriyakin. We went for lunch on a Friday. We got there right before Noon and only a couple people were ahead of us in line. By the time we ordered and sat down, we were surrounded by people who had entered behind us wanting to order. I think some people may even have had trouble finding a table, granted it is a small space with maybe 15-20 tables. My friend got the Chicken Rice bowl and he said it was delicious. It seemed like a popular pick for many folks, and reasonably priced too. I ordered the Vegetable Curry Bowl (rice topped with mixed vegetables in a thick gravy/curry sauce). It looked and even tasted almost like an Indian dish. It was full of flavor and very filling. You get a ton of food for the price. However, it wasn't exactly the "Asian fix" I was craving. As a vegetarian, I didn't have many options and since the line was so long I felt forced to just order quickly. I do look forward to returning and trying something new! read more

I haven't had good teriyaki in many years. After eating here, I still haven't. I ordered a combo bowl for lunch on a Thursday. The service was fast, and the meat tender and tasty - I have no complaints on that front. However, the teriyaki sauce was too sparing, the rice too abundant and the price too high (is that why there are no prices posted online?). My order was for pickup, so I can't comment much on the ambiance, except that when I walked in, the press of people seated and waiting to order made it clear that everyone's personal space was invaded.
