I have had a terminix contract for 14+ months for a rental property and have not been successful in irradicating the pest problem. I have requested an assessment from this company to explain the root cause of the problem & why they have not been able to rid our property of this problem. They told me they don't do this. I have been a Terminix customer for a couple of years and their regular pest control service has been adequate. All that changed when I got a skunk in my yard and I called for "wildlife" service. To begin, it's crazy expensive. They never succeeded on sending me the contract, but finally took my credit card # over the phone. A guy appeared with a tape measure to measure the width of my house ( no idea why) and a few days later a trap showed up. First issue, they baited it with tuna which one of the local stray cats thought was good, but the skunk wasn't interested in. I called the sales guy who told me it was supposed to be sardines. A couple of days later a service guy came to change the bait, then nothing. Just let the trap sit there. For 5 days. The bait got funky and started drawing flies, I called the supervisor who said the service guy should have been there 3 or 4 times. No apologies. The guys are supposed to come get the trap, but I already called and canceled the whole thing. The girl at the help desk didn't even seem concerned that I was leaving. Didn't even apologize until prompted. I'm done. Calling another company, maybe they'll be better. read more

I took off an entire business day to wait for them to show up. They never did. I called and complained and they said the Manassas manager would call within 12 hours. Nobody called. I called the 800 number and they said they will now be there between 1-3. I took off the next afternoon and nobody showed up. I called the 800 number 9 different times and was on hold greater than 20 minutes each time before I got disconnected. If I could rate a 0 star I would read more

Scheduled an appointment online for them to arrive between 3-5pm on Sunday. At 5:30, no call no show so I gave them a call to find out what's going on. The outsourced call center indicated that I was indeed scheduled and that she would reach out to the Technician to see where he's at. She was unable to get a hold of him. Next day Monday, I receive a call from the Technician. He said that they don't work on Sundays. Well, why was I able to schedule it online then? He offered to schedule once more but I refused. Can't trust them to schedule/hold an appointment, i won't trust them with the inspection. read more

No wonder you have to dig to find reviews on these people. They have to be paying to cover up how terrible their customer service is. We had an appointment scheduled for today between 8AM and 10AM. By 10:30 we had not heard from them so we called the appointment line to check in. First they struggled to find our appointment at all. Then the woman we spoke with said she found the appointment, verified our address, and told us that she would call the service manager to get an ETA and call us back. It is now noon and we have not heard from anyone. Clearly they don't want your money so don't bother trying to give it to them. read more

This is the most disorganized company I have ever used and one of the least professional. The tech showed up as scheduled and did preform what he needed to do. I paid him with a check (which he lost). To my surprise I begin to receive monthly billing statements and I called the billing department to determine why. I was told that my check "hadn't posted yet " and not to worry. Next month, same thing, plus I noticed that my check hadn't cleared the bank. I placed a stop payment on the check and incurred a fee which I determined to pass along to Terminix. By this time I was receiving dunning calls early each morning; even after I had paid my bill and explained that I was deducting the fee. Part two of my complaint is that they called me and offered a "free " termite inspection. We made the appointment and the tech never showed up, and he never called to explain why. Later in the day I contacted them and they told me that the tech would call and reschedule that night. Wrong! Very poor business practice in my estimation. read more

Technician last Thursday said he would schedule an appointment for us today. The appointment was never made. Numerous phone calls were made to Terminix to get someone to schedule a service call for today, but no one would respond to email messages or give us a phone call. This is totally unacceptable and poor customer service. read more

SHADY!!!!!!! We had a knock at our front door and it was a Terminix technician. I noticed he was wearing a Terminix uniform and asked him if he was part of my pest company. He tells me that Terminix bought out my pest company and that they're taking over that he needed to spray in my house. I told him to go ahead and spray outside and I went back inside and immediately called my pest company. My pest company tells me that they have nothing to do with Terminix and that they were NOT bought out by Terminix. I go outside to find this pest technician and I tell him that I'm still on the phone with my pest company and that Terminix did not buy out my pest company and he then tells me sorry he's at the wrong house. I understand if you make an address mistake but you lied to get into my house and told me that Terminix bought my pest company. After he left I immediately called their home office to tell them the situation and they tell me that they don't know if they bought my pest company or not. they couldn't give me a straight answer, the woman sounded like she was reading off of cue cards. she kept putting me on hold and when I then asked for a manager she put me on hold for 35 minutes and never came back....SHADY SHADY SHADY!!!! read more

I rarely take the time to rate a company, good or bad, but this company is just so ridiculous it had to be done. I scheduled a same-day appointment and was given a 2 hour window for a tech to show. No one showed up, no one called. As I'm on the phone with customer service (who is going "hmmm so I see you do have an appointment for today... and yes, hmm it does appear to be after your window.. ummm, hmmm, I don't really know why he's not there, ummm..."), the tech finally calls me and explains that he saw an appointment was added to his calendar, but didn't know for what day (what?! that doesn't even make sense), but if I want him to still come out he's a little over an hour away. Having already waited over 2 hours, I forgo waiting any longer and click back over to customer service, but alas they have hung up on me. I call the line again and start to explain the situation to the woman that answers with an attitude worse than that of a 16 year old girl, telling me she doesn't know what the tech's schedule is so why am I asking her why he didn't show up (again, really? Who else would I call about this complaint, lady??). Once I made it clear, through my rage, that attitude was not going to fly she adopted a new, much more helpful one, apologized for the tech and offered to file a complaint on my behalf and then asked if I want to reschedule the appointment. Why I would want to reschedule I don't know, but I just said no thanks and we ended the call. Fast forward to today, 5 days later, when a rep from Terminix called me to "follow up on my appointment" and "see what I want to do". I asked what he was talking about because I had an appt that no one showed up to and I did not reschedule, so what is there to follow up on?? To which he replied, "so you want to go ahead and cancel?" Entirely confused and unamused I say "cancel what? I don't have an appointment" and then he just hung up on me without even responding. I'm not sure what the problem is over there, but you'd be better off hiring the neighbor's dog than this company... you'll still be left with your pests, but at least the dog will show up. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I had just signed up for a 12month contract acouple days ago with the company. The initial free inspection was fine, by Dennis, who called me when he was running a little behind, which was nice of him to do. He set me up for pest control treatment two days later for between 3-5pm. At around 4:15pm the day of the treatment, I called Terminix to make sure they were still coming, the lady rudely on the phone told me it's not 5pm yet and that he will be there when he's there. So I continued to wait... I didn't get any courtesy call to let me know when he'd be arriving. So, at 4:55, since there was no sign of anyone, I was about to leave my house, as I was leaving, the Terminix guy rings my doorbell. I told him I was about to leave because it was 5 o'clock. Rudely, he answered me with, "It's almost 5." I was so taken aback for him to correct me rather than just apologize that he had some so late, especially since it was the first time for me using their service. I told him that I am going to cancel my account with the company, and he just answered with "Ok, fine..." and walked away with no apology. This company has terrible customer service. They are nice to you until you sign their contract and spend over $700 for their yearly service. I don't know how this company has been surviving. They are rude and their employees obviously don't care enough to give a good impression. When I called the company to cancel my service, the lady didn't even apologize to my horrible experience with them. I have a business of my own, and this is no way to treat customers. This business is going to go downhill very fast. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I cannot even remark on the service because Devary (not sure of spelling) cancelled my appointment without notifying me. My original appointment was from 10-12 on October 28, 2019. At 12:08 pm, I had to call to find out when the technician would arrive. After several minutes on the phone, finally Devary came on the phone and was complaining that he did not leave the office until 9:30 am and 6 other people had 10-12 appointments. He cut me off numerous times and stated that he would be at my residence by 5 pm. Well, I had to call back because at 5:20 pm, still no technician. I was told by a customer service rep that my appointment was cancelled. This is poor customer service and your technician Devary should be fired for cancelling my appointment without my approval to do so. I am taking my business to Senate since your technician wanted to no do his job! Don't waste your time with lazy people. Call Senate, they will take care of you. read more

This is the absolute worst pest control company ever. We have had terminix for a few months now. The service is terrible. They don't keep appointments and don't call. In addition to that, their product DOES NOT WORK!!! The tech who came out told me how they only need to come out 4 times a year now because their product is super strong and lasts a long time. WRONG!!!! THeir product doesn't last at all. I have more spider activity now than I did before I called them. When we had Orkin, their product lasted for MONTHS!! Pests never made it inside the house. We will be heading back to orkin. Terminix is awful, expensive, and a waste of time and money. read more

Jose Rios was the Terminix technician. He was very polite and professional, and made sure all of my questions were answered. I was worried when Terminix acquired Alterra a year or so ago - concerned that customer support would suffer due to "large corporation syndrome". My first appointment was scheduled for last Tuesday May 20, from 3-5p. I take vacation from work to leave early and make the appointment. No one shows, I take it as a mishap but forget to call Wednesday and called Thursday instead. The gentleman on the phone said I had called and rescheduled for a date in June. I explained to him I hadn't and that I had taken leave to meet their tech. He apologize and rescheduled me for this past Tuesday May 27, again from 3-5p. My husband took vacation from his job to leave early and meet the tech. At 5:15p he calls me to tell me that no one showed for the appointment. I called again to terminix and the young lady that answered the phone informed me that I called and rescheduled my appointment for May 30, from 10a-12p. I sternly told the young lady I work, I would never call to reschedule and this was the second time they had blamed me for something they obviously did. I told her I did not know if their techs were too busy and they were rescheduling or if they had double booked people and I was the unlucky one that was bumped but I did not do this and I wanted it rectified. She said someone would be contacting me from management ASAP. She said she had sent 3 of them an email and I would be getting a call within a few hours. Well, yesterday May 28, I receive a confirmation call for my appointment for May 30, between 1-3p. "Oh Lord Jesus give me the patients to call them ONE MORE TIME!" Now, when I get this new young lady on the phone I tell her I want to talk to her supervisor and I know she can't help me because the poor little girl the day before tried and failed and the kid before her tried and failed too. I just want to talk to a manager. She begins to question me on the nature of the call to which I reply "just give me a manager and I promise not to yell at them, tell them not to be scared to come to the phone." Well, they were too scared to come to the phone and after being on hold for 20 mins while they were "finishing up a call" (probably from some other poor soul that had "rescheduled" their appointment too). Finally, she comes to the phone for the 5th time to tell me that she would like to try and help me so I give her a chance. I explain what went on only after I ask her if she has read my notes on my file. She says yes and we proceed but before she says anything there is someone standing beside her saying to give me a $45 credit. I explain I do not want a credit I want someone at my house to spray. She suddenly has an appointment open today May 29, 3-5p. I come...I wait...I call. I ask the new little girl if she can see my file. She says yes she sees I'm scheduled for May 31, 8-10a. I said "cancel my account and with no hesitation she say "ok, anything else? Bye." I was a prior 4 year loyal customer. I switch locations from sterling, va to here in Manasses, va and this is how I'm treated for my loyalty. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been using them since they bought out the small company I had used for a number of years. Initially they provided service inside the home but have not been inside during the past 1 1/2 years. When I asked the rep who came and did the outside he said I would have to schedule another appointment which could cost me an additional $99 since I had only prepaid for quarterly visits. Most of the time they just show up without any notice. I just cancelled their terrible service and went with a more reliable, customer friendly company. read more

Not even a customer but after my experience would never even consider using Terminix. They came out and treated my house thinking that we were the old owners(I guess). Even though they tried to call the old number (disconnected), rang the bell (we weren't home) then entered the yard through our closed fence(new fence!!) they somehow felt that they had the right to put chemicals in our yard. I have dogs and a young grandchild at home so immediately called Terminix to find out if the chemicals were dangerous to children/pets. The person who answered the phone was clueless and didn't seem to want to assist. When I pointed out that they entered private property without our consent all they wanted to say was it was the old owners fault. We then tried to contact the technician who treated the house and left 2 messages but got no reply. Basically Terminix did nothing to help and were absolutely unsympathetic to the problem they caused. 72 hours later I have yet to receive a call back. I would highly suggest that anyone looking for a pest control service not use Terminix. read more

I would prefer to give them negative stars! The technician was scheduled to come out on 4/20/16 between 1-3pm to put vent covers on the outside of my house. He showed up at 4:30pm and had no idea why he was there. No work order and no equipment to do the job. He then got on his phone and started talking about me when I was standing right there. I finally got on the phone with his supervisor and he wanted to reschedule but I asked to just cancel it since they couldn't be professional. I asked for a refund and was told that they don't charge until the job was done, so I asked for an email stating that I wouldn't be charge. He said that he would sent it and never did. So I check my credit card on 4/22/16 to see a charge of $475!! When I called to get a refund she said that I would have to wait until either the 1st or 15th to get a check. She wouldn't take my card info so that I wasn't being charged interest on a charge that should never have been there. I have cancelled all my services with them and will telling family and friends not to use them. read more

I will never use this company again! I have been trying to get someone to come and check my home since November with no response. I have been calling the number and I get someone in Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Arizona at a call center. I have spoken to the customer service department multiple times and they tell me that they have emailed the manager, Randy Tremble, for the Manassas location. I am told that he will get in touch with me within two business days and it has been three months with no response. Every time I call, I get told the same thing, that they will send the manager an email and I will hear from him within two days. We have a two year contract with this company, paid in full. I was told that they will not give me a refund. I finally get an email telling me that someone would come out on Monday, February 15, 2016 and then it snowed. I got a recorded message saying that they were canceling for the 15th and they have rescheduled for Friday, February 19 between 8am and 10am. I couldn't work that day because someone had to be here when they came. At 10am no one had shown up and I called the number and, again, got someone in Arizona. I was told that I was on the schedule for April 3, 2016 and not February 19. I am very frustrated and upset. This is supposed to be a reputable business who supposedly cares about its customers. Needless to say, we will not be renewing our contract with this company and I would recommend to everyone else to learn from our mistake and take your pest control needs elsewhere. read more
