This place is worth it for ONLY a special occasion or a catch up with an acquaintance. The food quality was there for only certain items and the price point is overpriced. The dominetta drink ($16) was light and sweet, the otto bread ($10) was also good and slight tough. I wished for the steak ($42) that the amount would be bigger than my palm, but regardless it was rich with flavor. My friend got the mushroom inspired pasta ($30) and it lacked some seasoning. However- the ambiance of the place was amazing and the service was slightly on the slower side. It took us forever to order anything. The tiramisu dessert ($11) was AMAZING. More on the creamy side versus espresso/cake size as a heads up. We recently visited Terra's Alpina ski lodge pop up for date night and enjoyed a great meal. We were really impressed by the decor as Terra completely transformed the restaurant to mirror a ski lodge, not just the menu. Before going to the movies, my friend and I decided to try the unlimited brunch at Terra. This was my first time at Terra and I loved the decor plus how it was hidden away from the rest of Eataly. Our waiter suggested we browse the items and then make an egg order if we wanted. We came back with our plates of goodies and ordered a scrambled egg to share. That was a lot of good! I'm not a big egg person but they were really fluffy and soft. Some of the highlights for me were the carbonara pasta, jumbo shrimp cocktail, octopus salad, the crispy potatoes, sausage and the fruit pastries. There wasn't anything that wasn't fresh and delicious, just a few others that I wish I had enough stomach space to eat more of. In addition to the brunch, we also went with the all you can drink mimosas. First round I did strawberry and then the waiter had us try a sample of his favorite, blood orange. That was such a great compliment to the sparkling wine. Try it! I brunch here every weekend if I could! It was that good (and I didn't try close to half of the items available). read more

After spending time downstairs at the market, we came up for our reservation. I had reserved outdoor dining for the patio. Unfortunately we were seated inside. I ordered water and was offered sparkling. I didn't realize I would be charged extra for sparkling. We ordered an appetizer the risotto. It was meh. My companion had the seasonal negroni, and it was creative but a bit odd. There is not a lot of vegan options, so I went with the wood fired chicken. It was tender and good. I enjoyed it very much. It came with broccolini, no bread though and I was surprised. My companion ordered the gnocchi. He said it was fair. I was curious about the pastas and the skewers. I know for a place this nice a 3 star review isn't great but hear me out. As much as I wanted it to be amazing, nothing stood out. The best part was the ambiance. Beautiful roof top patio area and the weather was perfect. But on the plate or in the glass, everything wasn't worth what was paid. We spent about $160 on two dishes and 3 drinks. I get it, it's Dallas and you can't really spend what you used to anymore, but I expected more for my money to be honest. The service was just standard, for the price range I expected a bit more, and the drinks were all mild in flavor. The food was flavorful but for the quantity, the price was a bit out of range. It's one of the places you have to experience at least once but I probably won't be going back just due to the fact that there are so many places to go to in Dallas. Fabulous experience with a toddler! The Terra is so so pretty and very instagrammable spot!!! We went there on a Sunday afternoon and it was nice and quiet because it was 2pm after the brunch rush. I had the truffle burrata with which was yummy but the bread was too charred for me. The French toast was pretty good though!! This is our second time here with my daughter. The food and ambience was great. We went on a Sunday so they had the brunch. If you're in a group, they won't allow jus tone person to do the brunch; they're afraid the buffet will be shared (secretly--which we all know people would). So, it's kind of all buffet ($55) or ala carte. The buffet, I thought, was a bit pricey at $55, however they have a plethora of choices from appetizer to salad, main entree's to dessert & coffee, fruits, pastries and jucices. The pasta offering as stated in the menu, was spaghetti alla carbonara--but it was rigatoni not spaghetti pasta. In fairness it was good with the parmigiano reggiano & guanciale. It was very flavorful. The service was great; Luke was attentive and receptive and checking on us more often than not. Hidden gem inside the North Park Eataly. As you walk in there are a set of stairs from the exterior entrance on your left. There is a podium where the hostess normally stands. The stairs and elevator lead you to the Terra restaurant on the 3rd floor. Great atmosphere, relatively small which is nice considering all the other restaurants are large In North Park. We had a party of 4 and the tables for a 4 top are Pretty small. Table was extremmely tight when having 1 appetizer on the table and 4 place settings. When adding everyone having a water cup and potential of a drink from the bar we were at the edges. Drinks from the bar were great. Enjoyed the daily special which includes white truffle grated, it was delicious but very pricey. We also ordered the pasta fagioli which was unique and cream based. I'm sure it was more authentic than most places with a tomato/water base. Very tasty and would recommend if you haven't had a cream based pasta fagioli. There was also an order of the squid ink pasta with claims. The seafood overpowers the squid ink pasta but was overall well liked. If this was around the corner and half the price, I'd still skip it. It's remarkably underwhelming compared to the New York original, which we loved! Let's start with the service. It was very poor and it was Mother's Day weekend. We gave a little leniency for that, but it still was not at the top of its game. By the time we got our cocktails they were watered down. They sit on the bar for a good 20 minutes, so not impressed with the service now as far as the food goes it was Mother's Day weekend and it was a buffet. It was very picked over. We had reservations for 1 o'clock. There were no oysters. They ran out. The chicken was cold. If you wanted pastries only you were at the right place. It was just a little underwhelming and not what we expected. There was four of us and two kids in our bill was $700. The thoughts of eating at the mall always conjures up long ago memories of trips to the food court during my hurried lunchtime breaks at work, which was close to our downtown mall. Back in those days, lunch often meant a trip to Hot Dog on a Stick and being served by a worker with a striped outfit and a funny cone shaped hat. And who could ever forget grabbing pizza at Sbarro? And, if the budget allowed it, lunchtime dessert might mean a couple of overpriced oatmeal raisin cookies from Mrs. Fields. Ah...those were the days. For years, considering those distant memories, I would have never considered eating a sit-down dinner in a mall setting. After all, food court seating next to a pack of loud high school sixteen-year-olds is less than appealing. Of course, some of that has changed in many upscale malls over the last decade or two. Northpark Mall offers up a handful of joints, all chain restaurants, that are semi-worthy of an evening dinner. Right now, my favorite is Terra at Eataly. (At the time of this writing, I haven't been to the new Joey restaurant yet.) Of the various options to grab a bite at Eataly, Terra is the most "formal" of the bunch. However, I'd still consider it to be casual Italian dining. The ambience is pleasant; the eatery offers some bar seating, as well as a handful of tables on an outside patio of sorts. It's nice if the sun isn't bearing down on you and the temperature is less than scorching. The menu offers decidedly Italian selections and no pizza that I'm aware of. I usually have confined my menu selections to pasta over my ten or so visits to Terra. And I've been consistently pleased with those choices. Most have been perfectly al dente which is still difficult for many American Italian joints. Service, as a whole, has generally been good, but we've had a couple of hiccups on several visits. And on one of those, we actually got up and left due to the impossibly slow service. As one would expect, the crowd generally consists of tired mall shoppers who have finished their chores for the day. And you'd be well advised to grab a reservation in advance, especially around key shopping days and holidays. So on your next visit to Northpark mall when you're considering yet another visit to Chipotle or Panda Express, take a peek at OpenTable and see if you can grab a reservation to Terra instead. read more

Hubby and I's first visit to Terra at Eataly started strong. The decor was nice and we were offered a glass of Prosecco upon check-in. Sadly, the dinner went down hill fast. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the walkway where the only view was everyone's backside. We asked to move to another table, and were promptly moved next to the bathroom. The pillow behind the seat had a long black hair on it. Our server Veronica showed up and asked if we would like bread for the table. Bread sounded good, and we ordered from the DFW Restaurant Week 3-course menu for $59.00 a person. Veronica lost interest in service when we did not order drinks. It felt that the dishes were on smaller plates and not full sized. The Restaurant Week Menu showed that the dessert was a Gelato Cart with a choice of two toppings. The table next to us had the cart and a variety of toppings, but when it came to us, Veronica gave us a choice of only chocolate chips or pistachio and no gelato cart came to our table. The ball of ice cream did not fill half of the bowl. When we got the check, we realized that Veronica charged us $10.00 for the bread. When I asked her about it, she told us that "bread is not complimentary." This was a deceptive move to drive up the bill. Terrible service for an overpriced $140.00 dinner with no drinks. Dishonest server and stingy small portions. Definitely deserve a coveted spot on my List of Shame. read more

We went to Terra to try their weekend Brunch and it was superb. We made reservations and had no issues with wait time and wasn't too packed for a 12:30pm reservation. At the entrance of Eatly there is a hostess which directs upstairs and there is an option to take an elevator if needed. Once we arrived at the hostess table it was a brief wait while they prepared our table. Once seated, we were greeted pretty quickly from our waiter on drink request. We had the buffet, however you do order your eggs directly through your server. The option was wood grill fried or scrambled eggs with toppings. We order r both options and I definitely recommend the scrambled. They were moist, flavorful, and can't beat the presentation on a single board with a pan. For the buffet, there was a separate pasta station with Spegetti carbonara which was topped with bacon. The seafood station included smoked salmon, ceviche with octopus and shrimp, and cocktail shrimp. The yogurt station had an option of original or vanilla, accompanied by an array of toppings including fruit, nuts, and honey. There was of course a beautifully displayed fruit platter with pineapple and cantaloupe. The salad bar included delicious cheese and meats along with artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. Now if you are a fan of sweets, this is a must because I tried at least a bite and everything was delicious. My favorite of course was the poppy seed bread. Honestly overall a pretty lukewarm experience. I had high hopes for this place as I am a fan of Eataly for the most part. But I have been consistently mildly disappointed with its restaurants and have felt them to be overhyped. I found everything we ordered here to be overpriced and unremarkable. To be fair everything was good but just nothing amazing. The flavor of the squid ink pasta for example tasted overdiluted and under seasoned. Obviously in a different tier but it could not even begin to compare to the versions I've tried for less money in Boston's North End. All in all, you don't have to look far to find better Italian restaurants in Dallas. The service was also very much on the slow side. Our waitress was very snobbish and talked down to us for asking questions because the menu is Italian with a few explanations but if you've never been there it's easy to be confused. Then I taste tested a wine and I really wasn't a fan of it and our waitress got on her high horse "well what kind of wine do you want if this is not up to your taste ?!?" Very rudely. Terra at Eataly Dallas in NorthPark Mall serves as an excellent location for brunch or dinner! My group recently ate there for someone's birthday celebration and we all enjoyed our experience from start to finish. When we arrived, the hostess gave us each a glass of Prosecco. We took photos at the well decorated entrance before heading to the restaurant on the upper level (you can take the elevator or stairs). Once there, a second host greeted us and took us to our table. The atmosphere felt elegant with the use of beautiful decor which I believe they change seasonally like they do with the menu. While it did take almost 10 minutes for our server to greet us, they provided great and quick service following the initial delayed greeting. They explained the menu, which is in Italian, thoroughly and offered some good recommendations based on our preferences. We did not like the fact that you pay for the bread and dipping sauce (olive oil and vinegar). However, we felt everything tasted delicious and we loved that our server brought the birthday person a small dessert as a gift!
