I really wanted to love this place.. but overall the experience my boyfriend and I had was not good. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere new and fancy. Our waitress was very snobbish and talked down to us for asking questions because the menu is Italian with a few explanations but if you've never been there it's easy to be confused. Then I taste tested a wine and I really wasn't a fan of it and our waitress got on her high horse "well what kind of wine do you want if this is not up to your taste ?!?" Very rudely. Once our food came out- my lobster risotto was cold and was $47.. I just felt like since our waitress was already so rude I couldn't send it back. Aesthetic decor adds to the overall feel of the place and the lighting is perf to see my beautiful food. Service is great. Reservations are needed as they are always busy and saved us a major headache of waiting. We were 30 min late but they were kind enough to wait for us and we still had a table ready when we arrived. The servers were attentive and provided us with answers to questions and even remembered my reservation notes regarding our anniversary. Staff, dining room, and food are all excellent! We ended up going during restaurant week and was able to get a 3 course meal for $50. We chose the mixed kebabs, wagyu, and gelato for our courses. The kebabs are excellent! You can really taste the wood char on them. The lamb kebab was a pleasant surprise, not gamey at all. My group got the wild rabbit pasta, classic spaghetti, and wagyu for the entrees. All are great! The wild rabbit pasta looks underwhelming but is packed with flavor and super filling. Great ambiance. The atmosphere and decor make you feel like you aren't in Dallas! They really did a great job with the patio and the bar that opens up to it. Beautiful terrace space. The service was also great. I had high hopes for the pasta but it was a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't the amazing homemade pasta I was expecting. The wine selection is good but the star of the show is the sliced beef appetizer. Sooooooo good. It's a super thin beef carpaccio type dish. But they green it up with some micro greens and top it with some random chunks of rock salt. The crunch with the beef and the flavor of the greens just make for a flavor explosion in your mouth. We also got the cauliflower and it was pretty good but not as good as the sliced beef! Tried Terra Eataly on a busy Saturday night for a friend's birthday. Great customer service. The other party was about 20 minutes late for the reservation and the host was quite gracious and we were seated promptly. Our server was also very kind and provided just the right amount of attention. Started with the grilled lamb skewers and homemade sausage. The lamb was perfection. Soooo good. I'm a lover of lamb and this was cooked perfectly. Be sure to use the dried chilis. Makes it even better. The sausage was just okay. The red onion mostarda with the sausage was really tasty, but I'd probably just stick to the lamb next time. Ordered the grilled whole Branzino for my entree. Presentation wasn't quite what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be the experience of having the WHOLE Branzino..head and all. It wasn't, but it was good. Lightly flavored with crispy potatoes on the side. The sauce was yummy. The potatoes needed a bit more love and seasoning. My friend and I saw another table getting the Gelato and we were intrigued. We tried that for dessert and it was delicious! I got the bourbon syrup, crushed cookies, and candied Pecans for my toppings and it was a ridiculously good combination. A lovely rooftop restaurant above EATALY at north park mall. One of my most favorite outings since March- there haven't been that many. lol. Julio was absolutely magical in helping us today. He was attentive, kind, very accommodating and great with suggestions. It was the most gorgeous day, cheers to that making the experience even better. We shared the rustic toasty bread- crisp, toasty and tasty on the outside, warm spongey goodness on the inside. We wanted the burrata but they were out- wee Wahh. All good. The bread was accompanied by flaky sea salt, softened butter and a bacon fat spread- yes, good and rich. Oh yes. We also jumped for the arancini balls- perfection- so and cheesy inside and incredibly flavorful all around. We decided to share the garganella dish and the cauliflower- amazing. Food was good. Service was fine. Atmosphere was very nice; the restaurant is attractive. For any side salad, vegetable or any bread, as you might expect, there is an extra fee. We brought our own cake since it was a birthday. They offered to keep it in the kitchen until after our meal and then cut and served it to us and sang happy birthday with us. I took a trip to terra back in September and it did not disappoint. The vibe inside the restaurant is immaculate. We started off with the peach burrata which is a must try. We then got the gnocchi and ravioli for our entrees. The portions may look small but you will surely be full by the end of your meal. My favorite was the ravioli, it tasted very light but was loaded with flavor. If you still have room left make sure to get the gelato which comes out on a cart where you can choose from a multitude of toppings. read more

We made a reservation at Terra for restaurant fest, providing a set two-course menu for $30. Of course, we still splurged because of the fantastic regular cocktail and food menus! Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Best (and most surprising) item was the fried risotto balls - WOW! Our server told us that they are only available for special menus so keep an eye out for that because you are going to want to try these. All of the food we got was wonderful including the quail skewers, lasagna, squash ravioli, and beef cheek with polenta. It was my first time eating at Terra, and it was for Thanksgiving. They had a Thanksgiving menu that was fairly reasonable in price compared to other restaurants open for the holiday. After being seated, the maitre d or manager gave us water. After that, nothing. We had to flag down a server to get drinks and get our food ordered. Once ordered, my first course was lukewarm, the second course was hotter. My mom got her food before my dad and I got our first course, so she was done eating by the time we got our first course. There was a lot of staff present, but I have no clue what they were actually doing. We had a clear view of the prep area and it continually seemed to be a stressful, confusing area. There were at least three to four managers roaming, some bringing drinks to tables that did not order said drinks, others just checking on the status of tables on iPads. Maybe if these staff members had been helping out with service, the night would have ended better. I have not had such poor service and attention at a somewhat pricey restaurant before. Maybe they should have just had a Thanksgiving menu and not offered full access to their regular menu in addition. Terra is in need of improvement or just close on a holiday. read more

Met friends at Terra on 12/14 for holiday lunch before shopping. We had a reservation and our service was great, but the food was extremely disappointing. First, the water they poured was $7/bottle and I was not given option for regular. Then, the $10 sourdough bread for the table was overly charred. It was pre-sliced into 4 small parts and there were 5 of us. Finally, my polenta dish was barely warm, the link sausages were noticeably undercooked, and the mushroom slices were tough. I sent it back in exchange for $18 avocado toast that was nice, but nothing special. I get better at my local diner. Everything was overpriced and portions were very small. My final tab was $33. I do not mind spending a lot on food, but not on things that are average to poor in quality. read more

We were all so satisfied with our meals. We all got something different for brunch, the ravioli, spaghetti, eggs Benedict, Tagliatelle ai funghi, and CHITARRA alla nerano. We honestly ate it all before we could photograph it. We also started with the panne otto as an appetizer and the apricot jelly was delicious pairing. We had a reservation for 1pm, we checked in at 12:50 as they warn of a 5 minute grace period and we didn't want to risk our table. We did not get seated until 1:15, but they did generously provide us complimentary Prosecco while we waited. Our wait staff was so helpful and patient. We did the 'build your own bollicine' and the strawberry preserves were everyone's favorite. Peach was good, but not a very strong taste. Dad chose this spot for his birthday lunch. He and Mom had visited Terra years ago, before they made some upgrades. Long way of saying it was basically the first visit for all of us. It was a little late for lunch, and they weren't busy. We got a table immediately, inside but close to the outside section. Comfortable, perfect temperature, and very pleasant staff. Food came out quickly, but we weren't rushed out, either. Food was excellent! We started with focaccia, which was so airy and light - man, that was tasty! Dad ordered lamb skewers, Mom ordered pappardelle with mushrooms, I ordered grilled tuna. Plus grilled broccolini for the table. All excellent. Order lamb skewers for the table, folks. They're just about 3 bites each, and they pass around so easily. The tuna was seasoned perfectly, juicy, still had some rare meat in the center (it could have been grilled a little less IMHO, but still not overcooked), and was served on a romesco with some wood grilled scallions. I didn't taste the pasta, but Mom was pretty happy. The wood grilled broccolini was simple but tasty. I talked the folks into sharing a gelato. I chose bourbon syrup as one of the toppings. I will be ordering that topping on my last meal. About the rating: My wife and I are a little stingy with stars. A restaurant can deliver flawless service and still get 3 stars if the menu isn't inspired enough, or vice versa. (5 stars so far have only gone to Michelin starred restaurants). Hmm, the food at that restaurant was pretty good, but I have to say the service was just okay. The server, was friendly enough, but he seemed a bit distracted and not as attentive as I would have hoped. The meal started off well - the server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders quickly. But after that, things felt a little disorganized. The food itself was delicious - I really enjoyed my entree. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't rude or anything. He was polite and friendly when we did interact with him. He just didn't seem to have that extra level of attentiveness that I look for in great service. I'd probably go back to that restaurant again because the food was so good. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I mean, truly horrible. If it weren't for the company (my family), my overall experience would have been ABSOLUTELY ruined. Terra offered truly nothing to our dining experience. Two managers were involved in serving our table, and the experience was still so bad. No waiter or restaurant staff came to our table once we were seated. 15 minutes after waiting for water, we finally flagged down someone to ask for water and if we could order drinks. The Prosecco was room temperature. 3/4 of the people at our table ordered dishes with truffles. Once the dishes arrived and we tried the food, we realized there were no truffles in any of the food. We asked a waiter (not ours- because ours was absolutely nowhere to be found the entire meal) about the missing ingredient (the MAIN ingredient), and he told us that the restaurant was out of truffles. Why would no one have told us this from the start? Don't worry- our waiter still had not come by. Had to flag down a manager for help. We ordered new entrees so that our Christmas Eve meals were not buttered noodles. (A $27 plate for buttered noodles) While I will say that the second manager tried to help us, our second round of drinks that were ordered with the manager never even came. When coming back from the restroom, one of the people I was dining with overheard some waiters talking about how another table got up and left in the middle of their meal because the service was so bad. While I do not think it's ever ok to dine and dash (not to mention illegal)... I can only imagine these people had similar service to my family and I. Surprisingly delicious. There are many Italian options in Dallas, and we have been to Eataly for shopping many, many times. We had never tried their restaurant on the second floor, but decided to do so when some friends were in town. First of all, the menu is great with lots of pasta and grilled options. When I say grilled, I mean savory flame-grilled food. We started with appetizers, then had our entrées, and then dessert. Everyone was blown away by the food quality and delicious flavors. The menu was interesting and we all shared a bunch of apps and veg. We ordered the bread, the burrata, cauliflower, beet salad and the mushrooms. The burrata was the least favorite since you had soft burrata AND mushy squash. The beets and the cauliflower were our winners. We went on to have the porkchop, steak and pasta as our entrees. Mothers Day Brunch - we booked a reservation and there was no where listed that this would be a buffet. Great surprise! It took 15 minutes once we sat down for a server to even bring us water (it's a buffet servers only jobs are clearing plates and filling drinks). The food was okay, but absolutely not worth $75 per person. There were tons of servers and other employees working yet a stack of plates on our table took a long time for them to clear it. Wonderful collection of dishes for every appetite. We had a family celebration. I think just about one of everything was ordered off the menu. Quail skewers, boar ribs, charcuterie and bread boards, Brussel sprouts and the wagu beef linguini. I had something mist every thing that was served. Some I cared for more than others due to personal preference. But it was all delicious, served and presented very nicely. Now, let me pick out the most surprising and delicious- wagu beef pasta. Something about the meld of the beef and the marinara were delicious together. I sampled one bite and then was so happy when my nephew said he couldn't eat any more!!
