This was my 5th and final stop on my wedding dress journey and I'm so glad I made an appointment here! Taylor E. was my girl and she was so lovely! She was super friendly and never made me feel rushed (even though I was her last appointment of the day and I went over my appointment, oops :X). The store itself is a bit overwhelming with the amount of dresses they have (also I went during a prom dress trunk show, which was crazy). But once I was in the dressing room and bridal area, I felt so much better. I found THE DRESS! I'm terrible at making such a big decision but everyone there working that day was so helpful with my requests. I wanted to try on a flower crown and a veil and I wanted to see myself with a bouquet too, if they had one. Suddenly, everyone appeared with everything I wanted to try, including a bouquet that was scrounged up from the vase on the bridal check-in area lol. They dimmed down the lights for me too so they could show me how the dress would look during the reception. I highly recommend coming here! P.S. Tips for you! Make an appointment, try not to go during a trunk show weekend unless it's for a designer you want, and if you can fit, try on the dresses along the walls (they're in garment bags). Those are one-of-a-kind sample dresses that are marked down like crazy. My dress (which I managed to fit into, thank goodness) was marked down 51%! I'm a size 6/8 for reference. read more

When my sister and I looked through their large selection, we picked 8 dresses to try on. Taylor was patient and kind throughout the whole process and we felt comfortable and relaxed. My daughter found a prom dress at a local shop (San Jose, CA). Unfortunately, we could not find the color she wanted at ANY store, and we called at least ten local and online sites that normally carry that dress, based on a Google search. She was so upset! Then we chatted with someone at Terry Costa. The woman was so nice and said she thought she had seen a girl try on that exact dress that day and she would look for it on the floor. She called back a little later and said she had found it. She took the order over the phone and shipped it out, and we received it four days later! My daughter was thrilled. I purchased my wedding gown here, they have a great selection of beautiful gowns. HOWEVER... the way they measure you and force you to buy the size they recommend is not advisable. I normally wear a street size 2, the wedding gowns do run very small so they advised me to buy a size 12 gown. This sounded crazy to me, so I purchased a size 8 which fit me perfectly. My bridesmaids however did cave in to the pressuring (and yes, they pressure you into buying the size they recommend which is about 2 sizes larger than your actual body measurements). So all 3 of my bridesmaids got their dresses 2-4 sizes larger, and each of them had to pay $200 in alteration costs. The seamstress literally had to alter the entire dress from top to bottom. Might as well just buy an entirely new dress for that price! It is just absurd. We called the store when we first received the dresses and spoke to the manager several times, and they were unwilling to at least allow the bridesmaids to get an exchange for the correct sizes. Manager said that unless the dresses are 5 sizes larger, they would not honor an exchange! Ridiculous store policies and the unwillingness to accommodate their patrons. Lesson learned- for bridesmaids dresses it is a better option to go to a department store (Macy's, Dillard's etc) where you can try on the dress, buy the correct size and they would accept an exchange or return for whatever reason. read more

I came in with a list of 20 or so wedding gowns, all of which were from their website and they didn't have a single one in stock. I also mentioned that I was shopping for a size 0 and the guy told me I was going to have a hard time finding that bc apparently that's a "rare" size for them to carry. He went on to say no one ever comes in asking for a size that small....rude! Then don't advertise it as a size you carry on your website! I came in super excited in expectation of finding the perfect dress... I walked out highly upset and unbelievable of what just happened. A two hour appt ended in 30 mins due to receiving the most incompetent stylist I've ever could have gotten. I watched all the other beautiful brides to be, big and small, receive the most exceptional help in finding her perfect dress. Within the appt.. I was handed clips to go pick out my dress.. something I thought probably would have happened at the beginning.. she disappeared for a smooth 15 mins.. and my mom caught her roll her eyes on her way out to find another dress. The stylist didn't try one bit to save her appt. and all her coworkers were trying to help save the appt. I would have given more stars than this one. But this one stylist ruined it for everyone else. So if you want to go and have the worst experience ever... if a young lady with a pink bedazzled mask approach you... you're in the best horrible hands ever! Never again. I have been to this place twice. My wedding isnt until June of 2020. But both times I had excellent service..from entrance until I left. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They dont judge you for being indecisive. The first time Silver helped me out, but I left empty handed didnt think choosing a wedding dress would be so hard. I love he never was inpatient with me. I went back this past weekend with no intention of coming out with a dress just looking. This time we had LaMarcus I chose 5 dresses different styles as I am still trying to figure out what style I like. I love that they listen to you no pressure. And well he listened..next thing you know he said I'll be back, and he came back with what would be my dress. How did he know. Still not sure. As he said "when you know you know". I still cant believe I have my dress it was perfect. Thank you LaMarcus I'm still on cloud nine!!! After visiting countless wedding dress shops in numerous cities, I feel confident in saying that Terry Costa was the best experience you'll find for your money. They have gowns that are actually affordable and name brands. I got my Maggie Sottero dress for 20% since I found it at their trunk show. I'd been searching for this particular dress since Day One. My mother-in-law saw it in a magazine and thought it would be perfect for me. I really liked it a lot, but no one had it. I was cutting it pretty close to the wedding date, so I decided to check out Terry Costa as a last minute thing and was so happy. My friend (who bought her bridesmaid's dresses there the year before) came with me and we went nuts with all the Maggie dresses (we also tried on some of the other gowns, but these were 20% off!). The sale ladies were helpful in finding me petticoats, veils, shoes, etc so I could get the full effect. Plus, they allow photography--a major plus since all of my bridesmaids lived over 8 hours away! The dress came in with plenty of time to spare and I did my alterations on the spot. Of course, me being the klutz that I am, ripped the dress while trying to get out. I was stressing out about this, but they took care of it immediately. I went to get lunch and when I got back, the dress was ready to go. If you buy your dress there, they'll give you a great discount (I believe this was also 20%) on anything else you buy from them up until your wedding day. I bought my gorgeous veil there and was incredibly happy. Each time I called to check on the status of my dress, the ladies were incredibly helpful. Plus, they got excited when I showed them my dress and talked about my wedding--not always the case. Perhaps when you work around weddings all the time, it loses its glamor, but these ladies made me feel like a princess--just what a bride needs. They also have formal dresses for proms, quinceaneras, etc. The right side of the store has a great collection of gloves and hats to choose from as well. If you're looking for something formal and want great service (I'd recommend making a "reservation" ahead of time so you can get the huge dressing room), this is definitely a place to check out. read more

Definitely going to pass on ever going back to this store. The dresses were crammed on the racks in plastic garment bags and the process to try on dresses was maddening. We stood in line just like everyone else, but because we got overlooked for a number, we were pushed back 20 places. I had to explain to several store reps who even questioned guests behind us in line to make sure we weren't lying. Good experience, sweet sales lady who was very polite and helpful. Willing to work with my budget and explain what alterations might look like. Most of their dresses were in the 1k range but she did find a few for me that were around 500-600. I did not have an appointment and she worked with me and another bride at the same time, but she always rushed back to help me dress and undress. I was never left alone in the fitting room for long (which was a problem with other chain stores I had been at). If you fit the sample dresses it would definitely be worth your while to try here for a great deal on a high end gown. read more

My friends and I came here to try on bridesmaid dresses. We arrived at 6 pm and they close at 7. We were told to put clips on the dresses we would like to try on so we did. The bride also found a few dresses that she was told she would get to try. After we finished picking our dresses on the bridesmaids side, we went to the prom side to see if we could find any we liked in that section. One man told us "if you want a bridesmaid dress you need to look in the other section because you won't find anything here" so we said ok... One of us brought our dresses to a room and they were put back by someone. We went to ask where they were, and one woman said "I just explained how to pick out dresses to your bridesmaids if you want to ask them." Ok. I was trying on a size 10 and it was very tight, I was showing my friends that I liked the style and one woman took it upon herself to come try to zip me. When she realized that it wouldn't zip, she said "honey, you're not a 10." I was furious. Next, we asked when the bride would try on her dresses, they said "she will try them on after the bridesmaids." After we were done, at 6:20, another woman said "you actually don't have time to try on dresses so I'm not sure why they let you pick them out." We are willing to pay good money for a wedding dress and nice bridesmaid dresses. I've called this shop several times throughout the last several years. Unfortunately I always get the same results, and it begins with the person answering their phones to book appointments. The last to time I called to try on wedding dresses, the girl that spoke with me treated me as though it would be a privilege if they could work me into the schedule. Her tone wasn't even welcoming or friendly. I ended up canceling because the shop I called next just treated me with 100 times more courtesy and I ended up finding my dream dress on the first appointment. As my experience of care and service, I've never seen worse in my entire life. There are very simple shops, employees are more competent, skilled and educated than in the Terry Costa. (supposedly a store 4 stars). Just as there are too many stores too refined, organized and high level that the staff are very friendly, competent, skilled and educated. My opinion, brides should look for her dress, in all other stores that they meet the front, before going on Terry Costa. Put this as a last option to shop from your list.. I would give this place a zero star if Yelp would allow it. The staff has an attitude and treat you like you don't derserve to be there. We were greeted with a smile, followed by a look up and down. After a short hello, came the first insult about the size that we needed. Followed by a series of three more insults based on our current attire. She promptly left and was never to be seen again. The second person that greeted us was nicer, he assigned us a dressing room and we never saw him again either. While the third person held the same disdain for us as the First Lady. I was about to give up on looking for my wedding dress after going to David's Bridal off of Preston (which was a horrible experience and bad service). I felt so sad, mad, frustrated, etc. But my maid of honor convinced me to check this place out. I thought I would give them one more shot a few years later, hoping my experience would be different. The dress selection was huge and I was able to try on the same dresses that other boutiques had but at a better price. Additionally, the service was great. I believe Samantha helped me pick out the dress that I actually bought and Vera helped me on the day when I picked it up. I was disappointed. The dresses on their website don't look quiiitteee the same instore. This place had a "I'm stuck sifting through Nana's closet" type of feel to it. The dresses hang in plastic bags and look "over the top ornate." I'm talking costume, I bought this to wear as lead character in the drama club's semester play type of ornate. The dresses didn't look nearly as glamorous or elegant as portrayed on the website. I might be being a tad harsh because I didn't try anything on... me and my GF ended up throwing in the towel before we ever got started because even though I had a list of style/model numbers, they can't pull the dresses or point you to exactly where they are...you just have to sort of dig. I found Terry Costa online while searching for my dream prom dress--a ball gown Sherri Hill. My size, 16, is very hard to find in boutiques or online. After extensive searching, I discovered that Terry Costa had my color and size on their website. Ordering the gown somewhat late, I was afraid it would not get to me in time for prom. I communicated this with the store, and they were more than helpful in making sure it arrived on time. They were so quick with their email responses and great with their customer service, that it completely eliminated any stress I had about prom dress shopping. I went into Terry Costa May 3 and was assisted by Natasha (I think). She was extremely patient with us. They have a very large selection of bridal and non-bridal dresses. There were 7 of us total. She didn't help me getting in and out of the dresses, my sister did. This didn't bother me, but I did go into another store where the lady wanted my sister to relax and she helped me in and out. Regardless, it was a non stressful long day of trying on tons of dresses, and Natasha was patient the entire time. She didn't try to push anything on me. The consultant , Gail was extremely helpful and quite patient in assisting me with fittings and helping me with my selection. What makes my experience even more awesome is that my gown had to be altered within 3 days of my event. I had the pleasure of working with Mogda Bosiouni who was amazing!! Even though she was extremely busy, Mogda was sympathetic to my anxiety and fixed my gown in 1 day!! Mogda altered my gown in such a way that no one could tell it had been altered. She is a real professional, patient, kind, knowledgable, and provided tips to really making the gown and me the center of attraction. I came in this summer to show my mom the store and was not expecting to try on dresses. Claudette popped out of no where and was like a fairy godmother. She grabbed four dresses and insisted I try them on. The fourth one was THE dress and she made the whole process fabulous. Flash forward to bringing my maid of honor and mom back this time with hair and makeup so I could say "yes" to the dress and take a picture. We went out to the runway where it is allowed to take pictures and the associate was helping us was taking a few when Rachel, who apparently is a manager, came out of her brides dressing room and snottily said "are you done" and flipped the lights on bright before we could give her a response. I was not intending to take more than a couple pictures. It kind of dampened an exciting moment. If Claudette hadn't been so wonderful I would have never gotten my dress from Terry Costa. I definitely won't be getting anything else or bridesmaids dresses from here. There are a lot of bridal shops in Dallas where the associates are polite, especially managers.
