I had actually visited this store last year looking for a wedding gown, but didn't find the right dress in my budget. I ended up buying a dress at another store but I had a persistent feeling that it wasn't quite the right one. The night before my appointment for alterations, I stopped by Terry Costa to see if they might have something. I saw some of the same dresses that had caught my eye on the previous visit but they were still out of my price range and the dresses on clearance weren't quite what I was looking for. However, one of the Sales Associates Elena asked if she could help. She made some suggestions and listened as I told her my requirements. After trying on a couple of dresses, we found the one and I bought it. The dress was awe-inspiring and I received many compliments on it during my wedding. Compared to David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo, I think my shopping experience at Terry Costa was the best. Even before I made an appt Terry Costa was professional and friendly. I had a room for myself and my 3 best friends, so we could have privacy (and wine). Ashley was incredible! Made me feel very comfortable and was easy going when my friends were opinionated and brought in tons of dresses. Ashely actually picked out the dress I ended up buying. I came to Terry Costa for my very first time trying on wedding dresses! I had no idea what to expect and was very impressed. Markie was my consultant and I had her undivided attention until I found my dress! It turned out that the third dress I tried on was the one. I tried on a few others after that and came back to that one - and Markie was ready with the box of tissues and the "I said yes to the dress" sign!! All of the staff were so welcoming and helpful. There was even a sales rep there from the designer I ended up purchasing and she helped pull dresses and I really valued her opinion and loved her involvement. I am recently engaged and getting married at the end of the summer. For other brides, you know that time is not on my side in the dress department. I went to TC today after being referred by my coordinator. I had done my research online, and new they had a trunk show for the Allure Bridal gowns. There were people EVERYWHERE from fellow brides along with their entourages looking for gowns to teens looking for prom dresses. Although it was CRAZY busy, my consultant Ann was FABULOUS. She was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable. Christian, the Allure Bridal consultant, came in and teamed up with Ann and together they found my dream dress. Despite the hustle and bustle of the day, the two of them made me feel so special. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend coming here to find the dress of your dreams. They really take care of their brides and the prices are beyond reasonable. I advise going to their website beforehand to check for upcoming trunk shows to get $$$ off. Not happy with this store. Disgusted. They are not helpful. I have a wedding coming up in July 2019 and went to look for a dress. I thought I found the dress I wanted. It was a horrible experience. The original dress I wanted, the sale clerk, Gail, said it could not be altered. They didn't have time to help me. I had my friends helping. I was put in the warmest room of the dressing rooms trying to put these dresses on. They are unwilling to help the customer in any way, shape or form. I called the customer service of the dress maker and they said to me to have the store call them and talk with them. I called Terry Costa back again to have them do this and they said they already did but when I wanted to conference all 3 of us to verify if the dress was even started. I did the down payment on Sunday at 4 pm and called the store on first thing on Monday morning. It is not a special order dress. Just a regular size. No measurements were taken. The dress could sell in the store after it arrived but I think they want their commission. The sales people and the managers are absolutely no help. I work hard for my money, like everyone else. I don't appreciate the fact that I am losing 215.42. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! First off, I walked in off the street with no appointment (it was a Tuesday) and they were happy to accommodate me right away. Ann was my consultant, and she was AWESOME! Seriously - ask for her. I tried on 6-8 dresses and found a few that I liked, but ended up leaving without making a purchase. Long story short, I found my dress at a different salon, but the customer service was terrible and I refused to give them my money, so we came back to Terry Costa and Ann found the dress in their back room and the rest is history! I was able to try the dress on again, and loved it even more my second time around. The viewing area at Terry Costa is amazing! They have a runway with three way mirrors and adjustable lighting - it's perfect! I recently visited here to try on wedding dresses and I also visisted many years ago looking for prom dresses. I didn't find a dress that I fell in love with either time but I appreciated their great customer service and their huge selection to choose from. At my most recent visit for bridal dresses Whitnee was more than helpful and I only wish I could've brought her with me to all of my other bridal appts at other salons. Don't be surprised when you try the dresses on and find small tears or stains, obviously other people are trying them on as well. When you order your own it will come to you brand new. Be aware of their busy and down times so you can be prepared. Maybe call ahead. In my opnion their prices aren't unreasonable. Check this place out if you have a certain budget for your wedding gown. The place is set up like a TJMaxx and whatnot but who cares. The dress you are getting is being ordered anyways unless you buy off the "as is" rack. Basically you go through the rack of dresses and pick the ones you want to try on. You go into the fitting room and dress yourself like any other place you try on clothes. Its not like a typical bridal boutique where a person is holding your hand the whole time dressing you. If you need assistance there is a lady in there that will help assist you. You just have to let her know. Also, you can spend as long as you want in the dresses looking yourself in the mirror and trying to decide if you like it or not. No time limit just you and all the dresses you want to try on. Yes, some of the dresses look worn but again you are not buying that dress. If you are looking for preserved dresses to try on then I'd stick with the boutiques. No appointment needed. Three stars for their merchandise but that is pretty much all they have going for them. I've been going to Terry Costa for years and I'm usually in and out with what I need on my own. During last years prom season an associate was really sweet to me while I was shopping for an evening gown for an event. Most recently I bought my wedding dress from here and I appreciate that Serenity accommodated me last minute close to their closing time. She was very sweet and easy going. I ended up finding a dress that I fell in love with (totally unexpected.) A few months later I brought my sister to see it and another bridal associate came up and I asked for assistance. She probed around but didn't seem to take me seriously or believe me when I had said I was a bride (I'm 26 with a baby face). Serenity happened to see me and assisted me which was great! The other woman looked surprised that I was actually a bride and just stared the whole time... They don't book appointments for the weekday in bridal but a Tuesday was the only day my family was able to come with me to say yes to the dress and make everything official. I did call in though a few days before and I asked that Serenity assist me and my family since she was so sweet. I told them the situation and said I was bringing my family in and they asked for a time we would be there and I gave them one. The woman on the phone said she would relay the message to Serenity. When I got there for the appointment I was told Serenity was out for lunch (even though they took my name, number, and the time I was to be there). It took a while for them to bring another associate over. I wanted to have the front fitting room because it was more intimate and had room for my family. (other brides were on the runway inside which was also part of the reason why as well). I was told that I could not use that particular fitting room because it was Serenity's (???) and I should wait for her to be back. That wasn't possible because we were on a tight schedule and we were already running behind... I was able to get Anne to assist me but she didn't seem very happy about it... it came out eventually that she had been on her way to her lunch when she was pulled to assist me. She did perk up though and our appt ended on a better note. I'm in love with my dress and I cannot wait for it to get here, I just wish they had been more organized and accommodating. I did not feel like a bride at all. It felt like I was at Dillard's getting a sundress instead of my wedding gown. Nobody seemed to take me seriously at all because my wedding date is still pending. I really don't know what that was all about... It kinda sucks seeing pictures of brides who got to take photo's with a sign and what not... I definitely did not receive that same service. I do hope that when my gown comes in and I bring my family one more time that it will be a better experience. I'm still a loyal customer but it's a hit or miss with the bridal associates, If you're a bride, ask for Serenity. The other ones just seem cranky and unwilling to assist you. Oh my gosh! Are used to go in Terry Koster when they had suits for work or if I needed something for a special occasion. I went in Saturday for a mother of the bride's dress and was treated very respectful, Claudette's customer service is over-the-top. She is always been a great help and will find you a dress that looks good on you and knows your size by looking at you and never steered me wrong. I went in with my sister to look for her wedding gown. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive but not in a pushy or overbearing way. They wrote down her favorites for us so we could remember which ones she had tried on and liked which was great as she was trying to make her decision later since Terry Costa was the first place we went. My sister came back later on and ended up getting her dress there and it was beautiful! Terry Costa gave us the best experience of the day by far. We also looked at the bridesmaids dresses there twice and ended up getting them at Terry Costa as well. The staff was extremely helpful both times we came in as well as when we came in to measure me for my bridesmaid dress and helped us find dresses that would give us an idea of what size I needed to order since I was in between sizes with my measurements. Was very excited to come into this store because I've heard very good things, but I was very disappointed in everything about the store. Firstly, the service was terrible. Straight away, I knew that the consultants/associates were earning by commission. One of the first things the sales associate said was to mention her name later on so she can get paid for commission. Rude, curt and pushy, all the associates that talked to me were terrible. Secondly, they have no sense of boundaries. From hounding my friends and me on the floor to opening our dressing room curtains while we were naked (without asking/announcing their presence), it turned what was supposed to a be a fun experience into a stressful one. While the dresses in the store were absolutely beautiful, the service was horrendous. I've never felt more anxious and flustered while shopping. Lastly, the store layout is unorganized. All the dresses are packed tightly into racks and unfortunately, looking for dresses is difficult. read more

I had a great experience here last Friday with my mother. I am getting married in May and my mother flew into Dallas to go dress shopping with me. We had visited one other store prior to visiting Terry Costa and did not have a good experience. I was a little skeptic going to Terry Costa just because of my experience at another bridal store. But Terry Costa was amazing! Ann was my sales consultant and made the whole experience great! She gave me one on one attention the entire time I was there. She helped me pull all the dresses, helped me zipper and button the dresses, asked me questions about my fiance' and our wedding date. I was coming from another bridal shop that basically gave me a fitting room and left us alone with no help. But not here at Terry Costa, you will get the attention every bride deserves! I came during the Allure Trunk show and found a one of a kind dress that I am in love with it! The whole experience was great and what I pictured my wedding dress fitting to be. I got my wedding gown at Terry Costa this past spring. It was my first day actively looking and I thought that's all I was going to do was look. I found a few dresses that I had seen on their website that I wanted to try on. They also have a "sample gown" rack and I decided to look there. I found the most gorgeous gown on that rack. It's original price was $900, but if I purchased the sample, it was only $195!!! I inspected the gown for damage, since I'm sure alot of girls were trying it on and their wasn't more than usual, so I decided to try it on and it fit like a glove, with the exception of it being very long. I am only 5' 3", so any dress would need a hem. My consultant, Vera, was very pleasant and even had the seamstress who works a few suites away come and give me an estimate for alterations. I bought the dress, but decided to use another seamstress for my alterations. All in all the dress experience was pleasant. They do need more help, Vera was very busy helping at 3 of us that evening and she was trying to accomodate all of us at the same time. I would recommend going on an evening and not a Saturday if you want better service, but lots of gowns to choose from and nice sales people. read more

My daughter and I went to Terry Costa on a Monday to look for a bridal gown for her. I had called ahead and knew they did not take appointments. The two people at the front desk greeted us and directed us to the bridal department and told us someone would be with us shortly. Finally, one of the women from the front desk came back and said, "I guess I am going to be the one to help you." She obviously was not interested in helping us and the entire experience was a disaster. She just stood there and watched as we pulled gowns and carried them to the dressing area. Honestly, I came in here to kill time because I had booked two appointments to other bridal stores that day: David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo. First impression when I came in to Terry Costa was, "Okay, probably not going to find anything here," because the first bridal selections I saw were either rare designer ones that were not in my budget or vintage-looking ones, or ones that were too flashy for my taste. HOWEVER, I ended up browsing and found the perfect one for me - a dress with just enough embellishments to make people go "ooh!" but not "AHH" because they're blinded by all the bling. AND it was under $1000! I tried to go over David's Bridal early for my appointment and flipped through catalogs, but I knew in my heart that the the dress at Terry Costa had won me over. I ended up canceled both appointments. The service was awesome! My consultant, Alexis, was very sweet and helpful. She waited outside my dressing room for me. When my cousin was helping me with putting on the bra that I borrowed, I mentioned to my cousin that I might be another size and Alexis brought me that size bra without me having to ask for it. She also helped me lace up the corset back of the dress... and I tried on that dress three times. She took her time to lace me up, making sure it was done correctly and looked beautiful even though it was just a try-on session. She was very patient, very friendly, making me feel comfortable, and giving honest opinions. I just purchased the dress the same day. Get this - they even told me that there was a sale next month where everything would be 20% off, and they were going to take my credit card info down but not charge me until next month so I can get the sale price. I signed a contract with the discounted price. SaWEET! Then, they also mentioned that all things bought at the store were 15% off until the day of my wedding since I purchased the dress, but next month if I order anything else, it would be 20% off. Alexis also helped me choose my bridesmaid colors and told me that if my bridesmaids (who were out-of-town) liked a certain style they saw online of a brand that they had, they could just let them know and they would order it for us. Definitely made my whole experience easy! My mom also loved it because she saw some conservative dresses out there, so I am definitely coming back to take advantage of the 20% discount. read more

I took my daughter yesterday to Terry Costa to buy a Homecoming dress, this was our first time shopping at their store. There were many cute options for us to consider. The process was streamlined and the staff was helpful. My daughter decided on a cute beaded lace lavender dress and I was told it was the last one in stock. After, the sales assistant confirmed the price (the tag was missing) she pointed out a small defect on one of the straps. The strap had become slightly unraveled due to rubbing from being tied multiple times. The sales assistant assured me that you wouldn't see it once it was tied. She also mentioned she would be able to apply a small discount. I agreed since my daughter fell in love with that dress and it was the last one in stock. When we arrived home and she put the dress on to show her father I noticed there were several places where the straps had become unraveled, which is concerning because the straps could potentially break since the wear is in several places. Also the hook closer was broken and someone had tried to hook it on the lace. While I should have done my due diligence and look over the dress before we purchased it, the system there doesn't really lend itself to the purchaser noticing defects. The sales assistant is the one who assist in trying on the dress (ties and hooks it) and takes the purchase to the front. It's hard to believe she didn't notice all the defects, but it's possible. Had all the small defects been pointed out, I may have still purchased the dress because my daughter loves it. However, I may have requested a quote from my seamstress to repair before I made the purchase and possibly would have insisted on a larger discount (the small discount that was applied in my opinion does not match the damage to the dress). I would have preferred to be fully informed because not pointing them out made me feel like I was slightly taken advantage of. With that being said I will most likely shop there again as their selection is good and my daughter has many more events to attend with school, but I will definitely do my due diligence and really look over the purchase before we leave the store. read more

My daughter and I just purchased a lovely prom gown at Terry Costa today. It was our second year in a row to shop here, and I've bought special occasion dresses here in the past. We had a wonderful shopping experience up until check out. The woman who checked us out seemed very frustrated that she couldn't ring up the earrings we purchased with the gown, and then after she finally rang us up I asked her for an accounting, as the price seemed higher than it should have been. She mentioned a shipping charge of $15 and I told her we didn't ship - we bought straight from stock. She raised her voice to me and said, "You have to tell me these kinds of things. That wasn't anywhere on your paperwork!" She turned what was an otherwise wonderful shopping experience for my daughter and I into a real downer. I won't shop at Terry Costa again. read more

Thanks, Terry Costa, for the complete incompetence in regards to our wedding party's dresses. There are six of us and the wedding date is 09/01/13. We came in 05/05/2013 after months of shopping various boutiques and finally found a wonderful dress. We were told if we paid and ordered that week, we would receive a 20% discount and that it would take up to 3 months for delivery. Your sales girl and manager took our measurements and payments and told us the order would be placed that following Thursday to receive the discount. The bride (I am the MOH) called today to check on an ETA (so we would know how much time for alterations). We were informed that the order was never placed AND that the dress is now discontinued. We have to start from scratch with an even shorter time frame. Your staff failed to even call and tell us, nor refund our cards when the order could not be placed. We only found out because the bride called to check on the delivery date. What a complete screw up and complete disregard for basic customer service. We will rush to find dresses this weekend (and probably have to pay additional for rush shipping)...and not only will you lose the thousands we were spending in your store (we hadn't even gotten to shoes, accesories, etc) but each of us will also tell six people, who will tell six people and, well...you get the picture. read more

I was trying on dresses and the employee stationed in the dressing room saw that I had a dress on the floor. She asked me to pick up the dress. She came back around in less than 5 min and proceeded to reach under my dressing room curtain and take the dress. At this point I'm half naked and when I stopped her from taking the dress she started to open the curtain!! All this because a dress was on the floor!! Ridiculous. I spoke with the manager about it and she really did react at all..no apologies, but said "we do ask the dresses stay off the floor'. There's plenty of dress shops in the Metroplex with better customer service than this!! read more

Of course I liked the dress at the moment but as I left I didn't like it anymore and wanted to exchange for another dress that I saw. The staff failed on never mentioning that they don't do returns or exchanges not one word . If I would've known I probably would've made a wiser choice or just not gotten one in general. But NO they give take off the tag give me my receipt and now there is no going back which is ridiculous to me especially if I only wore it when trying it on. I came in with my daughter to find a Prom dress. She is not the easiest to fit in dresses do to being very blessed up top. :) I was very worried about how we would go about finding a dress that would be able to work for us and my 17 year old daughter would walk away happy. Well, we walked in and Sergio Armas came to our rescue. He not only found us a couple of dresses she likes, but he made my daughter feel like the princess she was always meant to be. From the minute we walked in, Sergio talked to her like they were fast friends. He wanted to know what she liked and didn't like, colors, styles and so forth. Sergio, let her pick a few and then from that point on after seeing what worked for her, he was like magic. Not only did Sergio find her a dress, but he helped with earnings and a bracelet as well! My very self- conscious daughter was working the runway. Snapping photos of herself to her friends. I looked and looked and tried on numerous dresses. Claudette brought me a dress that was absolutely beautiful, it fit perfect and was at an unbeatable price. This place is awesome! I enjoyed everything. I started my wedding dress shopping 5 days earlier and had been to 4 other bridal salons. I found a dress I liked at another salon however at that salon you are unable to take pictures so my goal was to find this dress at another store to try it on again and take pictures. I called Terry Costa to see if they had the dress however they did not, but they mentioned that there was a trunk show the upcoming weekend for the designer of the dress and if I bought the dress during the trunk show I would get 20% off. So, I headed to the store on a Friday at about 4:30 pm and was greeted by the staff at the desk. Then quickly a very vibrant bridal sales consultant named Cassy headed my way and quickly helped me out. I didn't remember the dress number I was looking for and unfortunately after a long day my cell phone died so I was unable to look up the information on the phone. Cassy was so sweet, she found a dressing room with a phone charger and let me charge my phone while I browsed through dresses. I found the dress I was looking for and about 5-6 more dresses (mostly with her help). The other places I went to were not very helpful at pulling dresses for me and it can be hard to find a dress off the rack that you like because its hard to picture a dress on you while its still on the rack. So I was happy that she had found some choices for me and she based her selection on a few dresses I had already picked. We then went to try on dresses. She helped me in and out of every single dress, and was always there exactly when I needed her. (I had been to other places where other consultants were no where to be found when I needed to get in and out of dresses). She even laced me into a dress twice! She was very sweet and personable. She is engaged as well and we discussed our proposals and plans for our wedding. I had went shopping alone and she was there to help me take a picture of every dress! She even waited for my friend to meet me and we tried on all the dresses a second time. I believe I was there for 2 hours! (which is rare for me, since I hate to shop and try on clothes). The entire 2 hours she was there for me and was very attentive, and not once did I feel rushed. It was the best experience ever. I was pretty sure I knew which dress I liked however I wanted to go home and show my mother the pics (since she lives in a different state), but I was planning to return the next day. She gave me advice on arriving early and even offered to help me again when I came back. Sure enough, I was there at opening the next day (along with tons of others) and I quickly found her again. We found the dresses I liked the previous day and even found a new one. Again she was great, attentive, and helped me find accessories. My second visit was 1.5 hours, and I never felt rushed and all the other consultants were very warm and friendly. I end up buying my dress, at 20% off because it was a trunk show. I highly recommend Terry Costa. I found the wedding dress I wanted, but when I took it home and looked at it, it was ripped. I was upset and returned to the store, and the manager Kristen was very understanding and did everything she could to rectify the situation.
