Subject: Passenger Door Malfunction After Service -- Safety Concern
Recently, I picked up my Tesla Model X following a general diagnostic and repair related to a BCCEN low voltage issue. ( That same night, I discovered that the front passenger door would not open from the outside. The door emitted repeated clicking noises, displayed a red light internally, and remained locked despite multiple attempts.
This issue had never occurred prior to the service. Given that the vehicle was in the shop for several days and I paid $700 for repairs, I expected all systems -- especially the doors -- to be fully functional. I'm disappointed that the technician did not verify the operation of all four doors before releasing the vehicle. This oversight has now resulted in a serious safety concern.
If this malfunction occurred during an emergency, it could pose a significant risk to passengers. I'm extremely dissatisfied that a new issue has emerged immediately after service, and I urge Tesla to take responsibility and address this promptly. (Video is too big to upload).
The next day, I immediately emailed Tesla Sales Representative Mr. Lopez, but he never returned my call. I then visited the Tesla Anaheim Service Center, where they told me they had discovered an issue with my door not opening properly--but they never informed me about it when I picked up the car earlier as I paid for Diagnostic test $275 already, but never told me anything about my doors.
Now, they're charging me $80 to fix the door, as manager showing a "take it or leave it" attitude. I had no choice but to pay, even though the repair only took about 10 minutes!
This new Anaheim Tesla Service Center feels like it's taking advantage of customers. They already knew they should have "calibrated" all doors after the initial repair related to the voltage issue, but they never did. read more
