If you can't do something as simple as a flat bread, why have it on the menu? Just Wondering why you say it is a tapas style menu and the food comes out when it is ready when in reality, it doesn't? During our meal, 75% came out in 5 minutes and the balance in 30. When we asked our waitress she said that she held some of the orders back to even things out - Just Wondering what she was thinking. Just Wondering why the place was half full at 7:30 on a Sunday night in early January when it was a balmy 75 degrees outside? This is a tough one. I expected a little more from the JW Marriott when we came here for a very special dinner for my mothers 70th birthday. Our hostess was the kindest, the sunset was beautiful, and the cold cauliflower dish was amazing. But this was likely where the 3 stars come from. Our waiter, who I can tell was spread thin based on him being the only server on the floor, but when asking questions, was unable to stay engaged with our table. He seemed impatient and uninterested in helping 2 of the 6 total of us at the table who had a few dietary restrictions. So much so that we ended up not ordering a bottle of wine for the table because he kept rushing off the table every time we had a request. I would recommend coming here for a cocktail, listening to the live music, and sitting on their balcony for the sunset - but the service leaves little to be desired. read more

My wife and I loved Tesoro! Wonderful hostess and pleasant wait staff. The sever we had was young (20 something, named Ava), she did not get any of 80s reference or jokes, but other that, she was great - very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the sea bass, (it's not called sea bass on the menu it has a fancy name on the menu) and my wife had a large Greek salad with blacken shrimp. The sea bass was over a bed of caramelized baked apples and came with a tropical style relish. By far the BEST sea bass meal I've have ever had. The portions were good size, but it's a Marriott Resort, so don't have sticker shock . . . $$$$. The restaurant also has amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico. Highly recommend! read more

Overrated. The Greek salad doesn't come with lettuce- be prepared to eat a plate of huge pieces of bell peppers, red onions and cucumbers. The hummus app comes with ONE pita. This is one of the new and trendy restaurants at the JW Marriott resort here on Marco. This one with a decided Mediterranean theme and food focus. My experience here may be out of the ordinary, but it is worth sharing. It was a cold (55) windy, rainy day...not typical for the area. This restaurant, open for lunch and dinner has a huge, wrap-around patio overlooking the Gulf and a large open dining room with huge glass windows also offering sweeping views of the beach and water. Before getting to either of those spaces, one enters a large seating area with low upholstered chairs surrounding low, funky shaped tables and a banquet along one wall with chest high tables. The bar offers a handful of low back seats. For eating purposes- only the limited banquet seating and bar are functional. The remainder are suited for cocktails and casual conversation. The indoor glass enclosed dining room is NOT open for lunch. So back to the cold windy rainy day - no where to sit and eat. Patio closed, dining room closed, banquet full, 25 or so seats full, no reservations...one - ONE - server. You would think the resort might have noted the weather forecast (I knew) and prepared, as there is only one other lunch option - the super noisy and entertainment oriented bar and arcade. The poor waitress was slammed, the chicken club overcooked...the wine served in little cups. C'mon man! Maybe dinner is better? read more

The view was amazing. The service was great and the drinks were good but the food was sub par. The humus was good but we had to ask for multiple rounds of bread based on the amount of humus we were served.. We love lamb and normally order it when it's on the menu so we gave it a try. It was VERY dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. The couscous we ordered as a side was dry and while the flavor was good you could tell it was reheated. This is the adults only restaurant in the JW Marriott. Located on the 5th floor it is also what they refer to as the rooftop bar. There is a large dining room with a patio looking out onto the beach. There is a bar on the patio that wraps around into the inside of the restaurant. The first time we came here was in the afternoon just for drinks. Then we returned one night for appetizers and drinks. We shared the white bean hummus and caprese flatbread. Both were excellent and the portions were large enough to easily share. Both visits the service was very attentive and friendly. This restaurant also doubles as the breakfast buffet for people staying in the adult only rooms. The breakfast itself has all the normal suspects, hash browns, sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon. You can have eggs made anyway you want them but no omelettes. They have an assortment of pastries, meats, and cheeses. The breakfast was just ok including the service. It is included free with the adult only rooms. Overall enjoyed the drinks and food much better than the breakfast. read more

Went to Tesoro for a date night with my husband and it was a great experience. We started with the blood orange margarita and spicy Paloma and both were tasty. There are always growing pains associated with new restaurants, but based off of what we experienced last night, it seems they moved past them. My fiancé and I visited Tesoro yesterday to watch the sunset from the beautiful 5th floor outdoor terrace, we were apprehensive after reading so many negative reviews on several different review platforms, but we were pleasantly surprised. Our server, Grace, couldn't have been sweeter or more attentive! We were heading to dinner off property later on, but we wanted to give the food a try, so we ordered the mussels, they certainly did not disappoint! So much flavor, perfect amount of salt, acid and fat, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. After our great experience at Tesoro, we will definitely be coming back as well as recommending the restaurant to our friends and family when we have our wedding here next year at the beautiful JW Marriott's new Lanai building. read more

We went to Tesoro after our dinner date and were not disappointed. Carlton was an amazing server for us and he was super quick after each drink order. I DO NO RECOMMEND I valet my car. It was $25 - right off the bat a bad start Our table for 4 was ready and got seated right away, but there was no one in the restaurant. Service was SLOOOW all night. Took awhile to get our first drinks. Waiter was friendly. Our appetizers were decent - shrimp Saganaki - big bowl with 2 slices of bread - we had to ask for more bread. Asparagus Puff - not much flavor Our table ordered 2 Branzinos- (Sea Bass) both complained that it tasted fishy and was bad. One person at my table threw up after taking several bites of the fish. The restaurant could have cared less. They offered 1 free dessert which we declined. And they charged me the 2 Branzinos. The Lobster Fettuccini was just ok and too lemony the Wagyu i ordered medium and came out rare. I eat at many very high end restaurants and this place was not worth the money. IMO If you're going to charge such high prices, the quality of food and the level of service need to be higher than average. And this place was below average. read more

The food was horrible, they served my wife cold fish, our appetizer and dinner took over an hour, had to send drinks back also. My pasta was barely edible. Be prepared to pay very high prices here for mediocre food. However, if you sit outside during the sunset, you're paying for a beautiful view. The menu at the restaurant is VERY different than the one online. They have a whole vegetable section on the menu online with 7-8 dishes and have 0 of these in person.. was quite disappointed. We ordered a flatbread which was nothing special but very $$$ and then separate pasta dishes for dinner both with a lemon tarragon sauce. The pasta dishes were mediocre but not worth the price in my opinion. The cocktails were very good. Next time we would probably come here to watch the sunset and have some drinks and appetizer and go somewhere else for dinner. This place does get very packed so come several hours early if you want to get a table outside and watch the sunset. read more

Staying at the JW Marriott Marco this weekend which is AWESOME. We have been here at Tesoro three times on our stay. Friday night for dinner. I would say it was a 4 star. Came back Saturday night for a cocktail and music. Couldn't get service. Servers and bartenders were crabby and not happy with each other. Live music ended at 8pm....2 stars. Today we were there at the pool. Service was off the charts in every aspect. Servers were fantastic and food was great. Not sure what all that means but I guess worth a shot an hope you get the better servers or get rid of the Saturday night manager? read more

Now if you want a great view of the Gulf and the setting sun this is one of the best places on Marco for this. The food is pretty good too. We had the Serrano ham and some cheese. It was tasty if a bit salty for those that have to watch that. We also had Bronzino which was prepared perfectly. And as we sipped our last glass of wine we were treated to an amazing sunset. This is by far the most refined restaurant on marco island. As a foodie, I'm super excited to have this dining experience here. This is also of the best restaurants in the JW Marriot chain, and it would be be competitive even in large cities like New York or London. We had just come from Pazzi's where earlier we had another exceptional snack. Pizza, think it is the best on Marco Island. Went back to 10K Alley game room watched the Stanley Cup play-offs. Loved it here! Favorite restaurant on the Marriott property. The view is amazing and we love the relaxed open seating on the patio. We ate at the bar because we didn't feel like stalking waiting for tables to leave. The bar tenders are super attentive and the bar space is huge for eating small plates. There was live music on the weekend and it sounded amazing. The hummus was the best we've ever had and the fresh warm pitas were divine. Not authentic in the least. The tabouli should be renamed parsley salad. I lived in the Middle East for years and I make tabouli regularly and I can say without a doubt that the chef doesn't know what hell he/she is doing. The parsley needs to be chopped finely. Needs more grain. The cauliflower dish was horrendous. The music entertainment was also lousy. Very cheezy. They really should have discounted or even comped my meal as I complained to the manager. This restaurant came highly recommended and we were looking for one that offered tapas/small plates which it does. There were 4 of us and we ordered 4 different plates to share along with one round of drinks. The portions were adequate to share among us however the flavors were so disappointing. We ordered 2 different flat breads, the cheese croquetas and an assortment of olives. The best of them was the cheese croquetas. We sat outside on the rooftop and found the "booth" incredibly uncomfortable. The setup was 2 couches on either side of a table which you would think would be very comfortable-however it wasn't due to the couch being too low for the table. Worst of all was the bill which came to just over $200, tip included. Food was way over priced for the quality. The ambiance was saved by the location of being on the beach but the decor and general atmosphere of the restaurant came off as pretentious.
