The "Daily" soup - not sure what it is, but it was awful!
    James G.

I ordered Takeout because I wanted a steak and sweet potato...however, this entire order left a LOT to be desired: I ordered a sirloin, sweet potato, and a few rolls with cinnamon butter. Interesting here I think you get the rolls and butter if you dine in the restaurant, but you have to pay when you get it for takeout... Sirloin: I ordered Medium and it appeared to be more like medium/well or well done. When I opened the container, the small steak was wrapped in foil. Although it did taste good, it definitely was NOT hot. I was at the restaurant about two minutes after the app told me the order was ready for pickup and I live only 5 minutes away. 5/10 Rolls: these were hard and cold, and the fact that I had to pay for them is ridiculous. In fact, when you dine in you normally receive these with your meal, but I had to pay along with paying for the butter, too. 4/10 Sweet Potato: although this comes along with the steak, it was NOT what I am used to from dining at Texas Corral. This one wasn't cooked all the way through. There was NO butter or toppings to go along with it. 2/10 The Soup: it says "daily" soup, but it was definitely unrecognizable. It was just warm. Also a terrible item. 1/10 Most of the issue here was food temperature and quality.

    Huge margaritas!

We were in Indiana today and hubby recommended this chain for our family for a good steak. I was skeptical, but I'm so glad we went! Despite their being super busy, we were seated in about 20 minutes. We had calamari for an appetizer, and while there weren't many to the order, they were good. He ordered margaritas for all of the adults, and they were HUGE! (A great value at $10...see my picture.) The baked potato soup and salads we had to start were good, as were the warm rolls they serve with cinnamon butter. Our daughter loved her shrimp scampi with linguine and I had the special which was a 10 Oz ribeye with Margarita shrimp. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was done perfectly! My mom and husband ordered prime rib, both medium rare, and both were overdone. My mom's was a bit pink so she kept hers, while hubby's was too well done. Minus one star for that. Our server took it back and he was served a new steak promptly which was much better. Nice big baked potatoes, too. After all this we were far too full for dessert, but we enjoyed. Prices are reasonable for what you get and outside of the steak mishap, no other issues. It was a nice meal.

Great service but horrible food. Ordered calamari appetizer and strip steak dinner. The only good food I had that evening was the bread.

I likewise don't believe that the quality of the food was up to the cost of it. Plus my wife was somewhat disappointed with the menu options. And I didn't see a kids meal menu, but I assume that they have one if children are part of your group. Anyway, the service was very good. The ambiance was equally good. We were seated in an area that despite being a little crowded, we were still able to carry on a conversation ( I usually have to adjust my hearing aids to silence background noise but not here).

On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.

Date night done right at Rosebud Steakhouse in Munster…read more My husband and I chose this spot for a much-needed night out and it did not disappoint. We started with drinks--he had an Old Fashioned and I ordered the Versant Twist--and both were absolutely lovely. We skipped appetizers to save room for dinner and were so glad we did. He ordered the Dolmenico Ribeye and I went with the 12oz Filet Mignon. We shared grilled asparagus, loaded steakhouse mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms and onions. Everything was so incredibly delicious that I completely forgot to take photos--which says a lot. Ryan, our server, was fantastic--attentive, friendly and made the whole experience even better. Honestly, we haven't had a steak this good while dining out in over 20 years. We will definitely be back very soon.

This place is overrated. Tucked into the corner of a strip mall, it's not very attractive inside…read moreand has a very plain, basic atmosphere, which can get really loud, especially if you're entertaining guests. We took my mother there to celebrate her 84th birthday and had a party of about 20 people. The side room we occupied was too dark for my liking. The employees were nice. As for the food, Rosebud Steakhouse is known for its steaks, and the 13-plus people in our group who ordered steak said they were good. However, one steak did have to be sent back because it was overcooked. I ordered the chicken sandwich, crab cake, macaroni, and broccoli on the side. The macaroni and chicken were oversalted, the broccoli was over-peppered, and the crab cake was undercooked. I packed my food up and took it home, where it ended up sitting in the garage. They do have a full bar, which was a nice bonus. Overall, if steak is your thing, this is the place for you.
