    Burnt meat

Took my husband here tonight to celebrate his birthday, worst mistake!!!! Should have gone to Gen for some korean bbq!!!! My family and I are not new to the Brazilian Steakhouse scene, but we have not had Texas de Brazil. Will not be coming back. Per the menu on their website, there should have been 14 different kinds of meat walking around. We only had 6!!!! The same 6 kept coming. Nothing new. When they first came to our table with the filet mignon, it was raw in the middle. I asked for medium to medium well. They came back with 2 pieces, mind you my table is 4, and it was burnt. Almost every meat they would bring was raw. Asked our server for medium to medium well, they bring burnt. Salad area look like it had seen better days. Rice, beans, soup look like it had been sitting ALL day or it just wasn't in the pans. So sad! We love the Brazilian cheese bread at fogo de chao. Asked if they had that, the server was like yes, you are going to love them. Nope!!!! Cold, stale and hard as rock. My daughter could bounce them off the table‍‍‍. Asked for hot ones, she brings me lukewarm ones. Bathroom floors were disgusting. My shoes stuck to the floor. Horrible way to celebrate my husband. As we exited the guy says hope to see you tomorrow. Told him NOPE!!!! NEVER AGAIN.

OMG! What a wonderful way to end our week on Oahu. The night started with the server, Steve, meeting us at the table, explaining the restaurant and getting drink orders. After helping ourselves to the sides and salads the gauchos arrived with the meats. At first it was a little slow with meat service but within 20 minutes it was a steady flow of several types of meats. Surprisingly, my favorite was leg of lamb roast but majority of family fell in love with the Pichana. Ended our meal with desserts. From chocolate layered cake to cheesecake everything and everyone were phenomenal! Thank you again for the best night!

Complimentary sides: fried plantains, mashed potatoes, cheese bread are good. Lobster bisque, don't love

Unfortunately will not come back, unless necessary :( Overall, I had a good experience and the staff was more than helpful and friendly, but the food wasn't up to my standards. + Food: Some of the meat was delicious, like the lamb chop, bacon wrapped sirloin. Everything else was just okay. The sides were hit or miss. Love the cheese bread, chimichurri, fries, mushroom, potatoes were good, lobster bisque was not great. Desserts were delicious. My issue was everything was extremely oily or creamy, so overall the meat was undermined. I wish there were lighter options like light soups, pickled veggies (with no oil), which would bring out the meat quality more. We weren't full by the end, just didn't feel great. + Service: Great service! Very friendly and attentive staff. Received a free birthday ice cream. + Ambience: Big restaurant with plenty of seats but you can make a reservation on Open Table. Closest parking by Macy's. The restaurant is on the top floor.

Reservations were made months in advance for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband, so we were definitely looking forward to a smooth, romantic evening. When we arrived, we were told they were running about 20-25 minutes behind on reservations and were asked to wait outside. It was very crowded, with lots of couples waiting around, which made it feel a bit chaotic right from the start. When our name was finally called, it was hard to hear, and the hostess didn't linger to see if anyone responded. I thought I heard my name and sent my husband inside to check -- sure enough, they had called us. They did apologize and explained they were having trouble getting tables cleared and reset quickly enough due to delays with bussing. Totally understandable on a busy holiday, but it added to the initial stress. Once seated, things improved. Our waitress, Kelly, was genuinely kind and attentive. We weren't initially given a drink menu, but when we asked, she seemed surprised and quickly corrected it. She explained the dining process clearly and sent us off to the salad area. The salad bar is where this place really shines. It's far beyond your standard greens-and-dressing setup. There were grilled asparagus, green beans, balsamic tomatoes, specialty cheeses, and even a cinnamon pineapple dish that was surprisingly delicious. I'd heard the lobster bisque was a must-try, so I grabbed a bowl. The flavor was good, but it wasn't very hot, which took away from the overall experience. The meat service was plentiful and nonstop. As soon as we finished one selection, another gaucho would appear with something different. It felt like you never got the same cut twice, and there was always something new to try. If you're going for the full churrascaria experience, they definitely deliver on variety and abundance. Dessert, however, felt like another waiting game. When we said yes to seeing the dessert options, it took quite a while for the tray to arrive. Kelly came back multiple times to apologize, explaining that the dessert station was backed up. Once she finally presented the tray (probably about 10 minutes later), she thoroughly explained each option. I chose the banana foster pie. It took another 10 minutes to arrive. Again, apologies were offered -- and appreciated -- but by then the momentum of the evening had dipped. The dessert was good, but not something I'd rush back specifically for. Overall, Texas de Brazil at Ala Moana delivered on food quality and selection, especially at the salad bar and with the continuous meat service. Service from our waitress was warm and professional despite clear back-of-house bottlenecks. The holiday crowd and delays took away from the romantic flow of the evening, but the core dining experience was solid. Was definitely great for a date night. I wouldn't go far enough to say it was a special occasion type place. Would I return? Yes -- just maybe not on Valentine's Day.

Senior dining discount 20%. Attention carnivores. When they opened at 5:00 p.m., we went for dinner. Assuming it was the manager, he invited us in, even tho only a third of my party was there, and asked if we would like to wait outside or be seated. We had reservations for 12 people. While waiting we were served drinks and small like cheese biscuits. Whe we started eating, they served, to the table, delicious garlic mashed potatoes and a killer prepared bananas. Other things like soups, sauteed mushrooms and starches (rice and scallops potatoes) were self-service at another counter. First impression: Very nice ambiance. A super large salad bar, but we weren't there for the salad. Waitresses and waiters come around in Brazilian uniforms with many meat entrees to choose from. They try to keep the meats hot when they carry them around for service. Pros: 1) Seniors get a 20% discount. 2) Large salad bar. 3) We had an attentive waiter. 4) Entrees were kept at a good temperature and not cold since they are carried around to serve. Cons: 1) They don't accept online gift certificates. 2) A bit pricey, but the senior discount helps. 3) Dessert is not included. Would I go back? Yes, even with the price of dinner. I would like to thank them for thinking about seniors. There is a good selection of entrees. WARNING: IT'S NOT WHAT THE LOCALS ARE USED TO. But it is well prepared. Remember, my fellow YELPERS... IT'S BRAZILIAN ALSO NOTE: They do have a salad bar only and kids price. Jasmine, if you read this, you have a killer banana condiment. You should think of serving it with some ice cream as a dessert. I think it would be a winner.

This was me and my husbands second visit, and I need to highly praise Steven who was our server last night. Steven was very kind and not only attentive to our table but all around the restaurant. One of the best servers I had in quite a while honestly and Steven made our whole night. Food was great, flavors were on point especially pairing the flank steak and Picahnna with the chimichri. The meats took awhile to come around to the table but it was quite busy, understandable for a Saturday night. Overall, it was a great meal. Was too busy enjoying the food couldn't take more photos. Would come again! Thank you again Steven!!

You come for the AYCE. Typical tactics. Fill up on bread and salad. When the food comes...they bring out the cheap stuff. The meats that you come for were pretty scarce and we had to "request" it. I was starting to get a little irritated when I kept seeing our "meat" person walking by. Also I ordered a highball...but pretty sure I got a tequila on rocks. On a positive note the best thing I had here was the chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing like cake and ice cream to make everything better. The Vegas location is better.

Texas de Brazil at Ala Moana delivers a really solid churrascaria experience, especially if you're there for the meats. The service was attentive and friendly, and the gauchos kept the skewers coming with a great variety of well-seasoned, perfectly cooked cuts. The meats were definitely the highlight -- juicy, flavorful, and consistently cooked just right. It's a great spot for a special occasion or when you're in the mood to indulge and leave very full. The vibe of the restaurant is nice. That said, the reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is the salad bar area. While everything was fresh and nicely presented, the selection of sides felt limited compared to other Texas de Brazil locations. I was hoping for a bit more variety beyond the basics to balance out the heavy meat courses. Overall, it's still a great dining experience with excellent service and high-quality food. If they expanded the sides and salad bar options, this would easily be a 5-star spot.

My carnivore hubby's request for his birthday dinner proved to be as pleasing for me (his pescatarian wife) as it was for him. Texas de Brazil left us both smiling and satisfied. In my opinion, it's a better value than a traditional steakhouse. Hubby counted and he enjoyed seven different types/cuts of meat. And while the gauchos kept his plate full with generous slices of lamb, beef, and pork, I kept my plate full with the salad bar options. My dinner cost was less than the hubby's because I didn't partake in the skewered and grilled meats. But I certainly got my money's worth! I was more than satisfied with the salad bar options and especially enjoyed the hot dishes like lobster bisque, fish, and black beans. They also bring sides of fries, potatoes, and plantains at the start of the meal. It's an incredible deal for the amount and quality of food you get to devour. I'm not really an AYCE fan but it this place elevates the idea of buffet dining. The gauchos were fun and personable. The hostess and server were pleasant and professional. And the manager visited our table a few times to chat. It was a warm and welcoming experience in a spacious, bright, and classy restaurant. At the end of the meal, hubby was served complimentary ice cream in honor of his special day, which was a really sweet touch. Great place for a date night, celebration, or family dinner. Some guests were dressed up and others were casual. It's a come as you are and leave more full than when you arrived type of restaurant. Lots of parking since it's in Ala Moana shopping center. And you can walk off the calories window shopping after your meal. If you're a meat eater, you'll love this place. And if you don't eat meat, you'll love it too. We definitely did!

This was our second time eating here and my first commen,t is that the service was way better than our 1st experience. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to our table, even after it got busy. He also did his best to get our favorites to the table. I'm not much of a beef eater and it seems as though the mostly cater to beef eaters. You can request items, but each time we did we had to wait a good amount time my husband requested the picanha multiple times after seeing it come out and never making it to our table, it didn't make it until we were ready to leave. Definitely a different experience from eating at Brazilian steakhouse's elsewhere, specifically Texas. I do want to be fair, my 3 star review is not because the place is terrible. It is due to the lack of meat rotation. The staff serving the meat at our table could've also had a bit more personality, or at least a smile! Honestly, the salad bar is a meal in itself.

My friend wanted to try this place out. It was his first time there. We went on a Tuesday for the kamaaina deal. I recommend to make reservations since it does get packed after 6:00pm. The meats were delicious. It was fresh and hot. I do prefer the cook on my meat to be medium to medium well and they were nice to accommodate that. My favorites were the picanha, beef ribs, and bbq pork ribs. They were very tender with the right amount of fat. It was also juicy and not at all dry. The salad bar was very clean. I see one of the staff wipe down the counter often. Great selections for salad and toppings. There were also sauces that pair well with the meats. I also do like their hot bar selections. The lobster bisque was very flavorful. The fish, mushroom, and gratin potatoes were delicious sides. They also provided the usual cheese bread, mashed potatoes, cinnamon bananas, and fries. They were all great. We love the cheese bread and mashed potatoes. They go so well with the lobster bisque. The cinnamon bananas were very good. They weren't too sweet and were a nice dessert-like side. Overall, I've been here a few times and service always been great. The servers were always attentive and friendly. The gauchos were hardworking and they explain each meat they are serving. There are times when some would missed our table but we were able to request for a certain meat and they would bring it out to us. Great seasoning and cook on the meat, delicious salad and hot bar, good sides and services. Will definitely continue to return again.

Complementary birthday dessert! And they sing.

What is their gift card situation now? Do they have gift cards specifically for the Hawaii location?

There's gift cards offered by Texas de Brazil but the Hawaii location or any future ones (as of now) doesn't honor gift cards or special promos. I wouldn't bother unless you want to use gift card on mainland or gifting it to Mainland family.

Yes. When on yelp go to there website and it will let you find table which gives you available times. Enjoy.

If you order just the salad bar, does it include the hot food bar?

I think so...the server we had referred to that entire area as the salad bar. Honestly it's extensive and you could have a meal from just the salad bar and leave satisfied.

Is this place children friendly environment?

They absolutely are. They have two extra areas, one is even more private, that are great for big families parties too. And for the kids they offer a special price: 2 years and under are complimentary, 3-5 years are $5.00 and 6-12 years are half…

Yes. They ask you when you are seated. You can request it, but it will take a little longer for the meat to come out to you.

    Happy hour hours and menu?

No happy hour. Their menu can be seen on their website.

Can you order a snack at the bar?

It is an all you can eat style and salad bar buffet. You can order just the salad bar.

No! No gift cards yet and no military discounts or Email promotions.

What is the cost of dinner?

$69.99 currently for special opening and $39.99 for salad area only

Where in Ala Moana are you located? When will the restaurant open?

It'll be located on the 4th floor of Ho'okipa Terrace. Next to Olive Garden and Mai Tai's. December…

Yes it opens December 5th which is today for their grand opening.

You get what you expect at fine dinning, and if you know what you're getting into, you'll never be disappointed and always be satisfied. Looking forward to coming back next time, although there is some question about the ownerships contract, which apparently might cause a change in the name!

We were in Pearl city and did a little shopping at Walmart and we got very hungry so we decided to…read moredrive around and we found this restaurant. We both ordered the ribeye steak, mashed potato, asparagus and fried rice. Both ribeye steaks were cooked to the exact doneness. The size of the ribeye steak was pretty big. Luckily I was very hungry so I finished my steak. The asparagus was very delicious and the mashed potato was very delicious too. Our server, Elijah did an excellent job answering any questions and was very attentive to what we ordered. When the meals came in. He even asked to double check the doneness of the steak by cutting it right down the middle and it was cooked to perfection. I don't remember the last time I went to a steak restaurant other than my birthday, so it's very rare to go to a restaurant and order steak. So this was a large treat to me. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere with the lighting dim and the music very soft. This restaurant was very busy luckily we just wanted a seating for two even though they asked if we had a reservation and we didn't so we got lucky.

We recently went to Little Joe's Steakhouse on Nimitz for a going-away dinner for a friend. Our…read morereservation was for 5:00 p.m., during the restaurant's advertised happy hour, which runs until 7:00 p.m. Before arriving, we had looked at the happy hour menu online and assumed those selections would be available during that time. We were seated in the dining room and ordered drinks, but no one mentioned that happy hour was restricted to a different seating area. It was only after we received the dinner menus, noticed the happy hour selections were missing, and specifically asked our waiter about them that we were told the happy hour menu could not be ordered in the dining area. By then, we had already ordered our drinks at full price. I think this is something the restaurant should make much clearer on its website and during the reservation and seating process. If a 5:00 p.m. reservation places guests in an area where the advertised happy hour does not apply, that should be disclosed before they are seated, or at minimum before they begin ordering. The difference affects not only price, but also the food selections available and the overall dining experience. Our group was actually a little stumped by the regular dinner menu because the options were much more limited than what we had been looking at online. I asked specifically about the Scallops Dynamite because I do not tolerate spicy food well. I told our waiter that I did not like spicy food, and he explained that the dynamite sauce could be served on the side and that the scallops themselves were basically seasoned with seeds. Unfortunately, even without the sauce, the scallops were extremely spicy. I could barely eat them. The heat was intense enough that I drank my entire glass of water and then much of my daughter's trying to cool my mouth. When the waiter came back and asked how everything was, I told him directly that I could not eat the scallops because they were far too spicy. He smiled and walked away. There was no offer to replace them, remake them without the spicy seasoning, suggest another entrée, or even acknowledge that the dish was not what I had been led to expect. That was probably the most disappointing part of the experience. At a restaurant at this price point, where many items are à la carte, I would expect the staff to be more attentive to whether a guest can actually enjoy the meal, especially after the guest specifically asked about the spice level before ordering. There was also a smaller moment that reflected the overall lack of attention to detail. Our guest of honor arrived wearing two leis, and the waiter immediately said, "Happy Birthday." He had to correct him and explain that he was actually leaving the islands. A more polished approach would have been something simple like, "Are we celebrating anything special tonight?" It could just as easily have been a birthday, promotion, retirement, anniversary, or farewell. I dine out and travel frequently, so I understand that not every meal or service interaction will be perfect. But several things missed the mark here, and together they changed what should have been a special farewell dinner. We will not be returning, but I do hope management takes the feedback constructively, particularly regarding clearer disclosure of the happy hour seating restrictions and how staff respond when a guest clearly cannot eat the dish they ordered. My advice for first time diners is ask where you will be seated if you're hoping for a full menu option during happy hour. The website is misleading.

Exterior just calls out to you. I'll write more once we are seated and taste their food. I already looked at their menu on Yelp, read some reviews and know what I want to try. All 3 employees welcomed us with smiles and a happy greeting. It smells SO good when you enter of good food. Catchy Japanese pop music adds to the festive vibe. Their menu is extensive. Everything sounds, looks and tastes amazing. Erin was the best and such a pretty hostess, table server and made the evening enjoyable. Yuzu was all smiles, cute and prepared some of the food. She also helped Doc make our dinner reservations. Chef was so busy preparing the dishes I didn't get to ask him his name but I flashed a thumbs up to him as we were leaving and he gave a big smile. There was so much delicious food we asked for take out containers for the oxtail ramen and tender grilled beef. We had to pass on dessert. Actually my melon float was like a pretty dessert. Hubs drank a lychee soda. Highly recommend this restaurant. Come for the food, atmosphere and friendliest staff. We even caught a glimpse of their very young boss who also greeted us when he arrived.

Since it was late, we noticed the back of house staff help the front. Everyone was so friendly and food comes out fast. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food was a bit too flavorful - we all agreed that everything was slightly salty. I could also say portion of some items may not match price, but I understand inflation is increasing at an alarming rate. So I'll leave money out of this. Crushed cucumbers were interesting. We couldn't decide if eating it with chopsticks or spoon was better. With chopsticks, you might not get enough sauce. But you could taste the layers of flavor. With a spoon, you get too much saltiness. The spice hits at the end. The tako karaage were a little too chewy for us. Beef tongue was so tender. A definite must order. I dont think it needs rice though. We also ordered the late night nikumiso but it didn't come with an egg, which the menu said it should. We tried handful more items but we'll be back to try the oxtail items, as it sounds like that's their specialties, but takes extra time to prepare.
