This is a very good Brazilian Steakhouse. The food is good. Prices are reasonable. Parking is ample. I would say some of my experience was odd as we came in without a reservation-it was nearly empty and the person who sat us made us wait while they made a reservation via open table. I thought that was odd. The waiter was nice but was not as attentive to our drinks and refills as I would have liked and I got thirsty. Other than that the all you can eat bar has a variety of foods for everyone. It has hot and cold options. You can eat as much different types of meat as they bring out. It is very well priced and feel very fancy if you want to celebrate a special occasion. I found it difficult to find parking because I was unsure which lot to use. It is at Mayfair and there are many lots, but I was unsure which lot was for the restaurant. You can park a lot of places so it may have just been me. Overall though it was a fun experience. Unfortunately, our experience at Texas de Brazil Milwaukee was disappointing from start to finish. We were seated at a small round table that felt very cramped for our group. We asked if it would be possible to move to a larger table, but we were told no accommodations were available, which made the meal less comfortable from the beginning. The food itself was average at best. The selection of meats seemed limited compared to what we expected, and the portions being served were very small. There also didn't appear to be any consistent flow to the tableside service. Long stretches would pass before servers returned with additional meat options, making the experience feel disorganized. Thankfully, the salad bar and buffet area offered enough variety to keep everyone at our table satisfied. Another aspect that stood out was how scripted the service felt. Our waiter was polite, but every interaction seemed overly rehearsed rather than genuine. The dessert presentation was repeated twice as if we hadn't all been present the first time, which felt awkward and unnecessary. Overall, the food was underwhelming, the service lacked a personal touch, and the dining experience did not live up to our expectations. For the price, we expected much better quality and service. The food is decent. The chimichurri is , great on anything. We had a party of 10 people, and when we got sat down, it took until we were far into our meal before we got any water or any beverages. Great food and ambience in this restaurant. It seems like a really fancy restaurant but if you buy their gift cards when they have offers the price is decent! You can also sign up for their expungement and get $20 off your order on your birthday. They have an extensive salad and soup bar plenty to fill you up before your main meat course. Our waitress was friendly and helpful she kept coming back To refill our water and asked if we had any other specific meats we wanted that haven't been served yet. While the food we had was delicious, there was definitely some deception with pricing. We had planned on getting cocktails, but our waitress (Ruth S.) told us that a pitcher of sangria was 50% off and we would be able to take home the remainder of the bottle of wine that was used. A pitcher of sangria in the menu was $47 so we assumed 50% off that and agreed. When the bill came, we were charged $53 for the Sangria, and after talking to management, it was actually that we were paying 50% for the bottle of wine they were going to put in the Sangria, which was NOT how it was presented. Had it been explained that way, we would not have purchased it. Even after we explained to the waitress it wasn't explained to us properly, she wasn't apologetic and made it seem like we should've known that. Additionally, we had no clue that dessert was not included in the meal and once again that was not explained to us at all. Similar situation, it was brushed off as something we should've known, even though we had said we had never been there before. We mentioned this to management upon leaving and we were just given 15% off for our next visit, which I doubt we will do. Having been to other Brazilian steakhouses, we will choose those next time. We returned to this restaurant again, this time on New Year's Eve and as usual everything was excellent. We had a reservation and we're seated promptly even though they were extremely busy. The food was excellent. There was an extensive variety of options on the buffet and the premier cut of steak, Picanha,was brought around frequently. They don't force tips (although you should always tip) and they don't charge credit card surcharges. We will definitely keep returning here. Let me start on the positives. Food was excellent. From the soups to the salad bar, everything was fresh, beautifully presented and very well prepared. One could easily make a meal on what was offered there. Calling it perfection would almost be an understatement. The meats tonight included beed, pork, chicken and lamb. All looked as good as they tasted. The meat staff was attentive, even when our cards were turned to the red side. The main dining room is spectacular. We loved the domed area, it is beautiful. Now for the not so great. Service was a bit off for a Friday night. This location was slow by any other description. We arrived at 5:00pm without reservations. They were able to seat us in the main dining area. We were cold throughout our meals to a point my guests were thinking of putting their coats back on. My thermometer on my phone was showing 62F when we first sat down and it moved upwards to 65F when a few more people arrived. We noticed others wearing their coats and one person appears to have retrieveda blanket for an older person at their table. It was cold and rather uncomfortable. Our servers grasp of English was a bit weak. Nice young man but had a slight problem with the request for sugar free beverages. My guests were looking for Coke Zero or Diet Coke. He didn't seem to understand other than the only diet soda was Diet Coke. He dropped the cheque off but we were still talking and didn't even open it. He came back three time to settle the bill before we were ready to leave. While sort of amusing, not the best way to engratiate yourself to customers. But he was young, so we played it off. I had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before so I figured I would try it out. I went on a Saturday night and it was busy but even without a reservation we were able to get a table immediately. I ordered the meat option, while my mother got the vegetarian option, which does not feature the table-side service of the various meats cut-to-order. Our waitress, Tania, was very helpful in explaining the process to us newbies. I was impressed with the number of meats offered (various types of beef, chicken, pork, lamb) and the entire separate room with everything else was a smorgasbord of what felt like endless options. Everything was so fresh, from the basil on the caprese salad to the shrimp on ice to the steaming hot lobster bisque. The only minor critique I would add is that if you ask for water you will pay for a bottle of it, no out-of-the-tap here. They do not tell you that so I was surprised when she brought out a fancy bottle and then saw it on the bill. This is not a cheap dinner option but if you go with an empty stomach you can really make the most of it on a special occasion. Date of visit: March 9, 2024 I love a good Brazilian steakhouse and haven't been to one in nearly a decade so was really looking forward to checking out Texas de Brazil. Upon arriving at the location, my hopes were increase when I saw how busy it was, surely this was a sign of a great time to come! Given the throng of people in the front lobby, I expected that even with a reservation, we would have to wait a bit for our table and that was true. The hostess was efficient yet not particularly friendly, though I chalked that up to stress of this peak dining hour. The wait allowed us to take in the ambiance, from the cool lighting fixtures (scavenger hunt: See if you can find the ones that are different from the others, in a "local" way) to the well-lit bar. When we were seated, we had a long wait for our server, Nicole, to arrive. She seemed a little perturbed that we were all Texas de Brazil virgins, but gave us a 15 second overview which really did not prepare us for the experience. While she mentioned the red/green cards (which almost none of the gauchos actually paid attention to) and the salad bar, but not about the things that she would bring to the table, including excellent mashed potatoes, above-average French fries, and tasty fried bananas. I have no idea if we could request more of these because she never mentioned them. The salad bar was quite extensive, if haphazardly organized. There is no clear direction so the place where people were tending to start (right across from the plates) was nowhere near where the salad was located. Soups are also over here and the lobster bisque is fantastic, even though the container should be labeled VERY HOT and was not. Tip: Grab some croutons or the focaccia bread to have with the lobster bisque. In terms of the main event, most of the meat cuts were excellent, even for someone like me who isn't a huge steak fan. What was disappointing is that there is no way to request certain items and others never appeared; we spied some ribs towards the end of the meal but they never made it to us to try them. Nicole was MIA for long stretches of the meal and we had to pile up our dirty dishes on the corner of the table for them to be cleared. A large miss is that clean plates are only found at the salad bar. Nicole passively offered dessert, in a way that made it seem as though she really did not want us to stay, so we took her up on her offer and had dessert at Corner Bakery instead. read more

This was a second visit to this restaurant. The first was not a great experience, more on the service side than the food. (See my previous review). I was hoping for a better experience this time having brought my out of town guest for a meal and first experience with this type of restaurant. Unfortunately it was a horrible experience. First we were seated at a table in the bar area instead of the main dining room. I was afraid that this would be an issue for the servers bringing meats. And it was, service was very slow and we were served fewer meat choices than they offer as a result. Watching servers come from the kitchen with skewers of meat they always went to the main dining room and occasionally made it to our area of the restaurant. If that weren't bad enough, the meats while seasoned ok, were so tough I have to wonder what grade of meat they buy. The were pieces of meat that I even chose not to finish because they were so full of gristle. One chicken offering (bacon wrapped) was good, but we only saw that server once. On good thing I will mention is their salad bar, it's expansive, well stocked and fresh. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with Texas de Brazil that night (June 1). Normally I would have spoken to the manager, but it was the same manager I spoke to at our last visit. We left that night unsatisfied and I wasn't going to waste my time with him again. I can safely say I won't be returning to this establishment any time soon and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal at $50+ dollars a pop. read more

While the atmosphere was fine - neat looking restaurant, our service was slow (with not a lot of waitstaff check-ins), explanation of the prices (up charges - poorly explained charges), and in the end conversation with management about our concerns were not what we were hoping for on a 30th Anniversary (where were our special gifts) and Christmas Eve. The folks bringing around the meats on a stick were fine and the food was good, the speed in which service was poor and I needed to clear plates off of the table to make room. Dessert (NOT PART OF THE COST OF THE MEAL - but we were not told that) was pricey, fine to eat but pricey on top of an already big bill. The special HALF - OFF Sangria - don't be fooled and make sure you ask the price - was not half off of anything (or so it sure as heck didn't feel like it was as it was still more expensive than the drink menu sangria). Everyone, it is important to know that there is another Brazilian Steakhouse in Milwaukee and I recommend that one. Not as "fancy" or "National Chain" as this one but, I would certainly choose that one in downtown Milwaukee over the Texas de Brazil. As consideration for our inconvenience and poor dining experience the management gave us 2 coupons for 15% off our next meal - anywhere in the country - woo... hoo... We came here for the first time for our anniversary, we showed up right at 5:00 for our 5:00pm reservation and was told they weren't open yet and we'd need to wait. It was a few minute wait, no big deal, the hostess didn't seem very friendly but was decent enough with us. The entire restaurant smelled like a dirty public restroom, as soon as we walked in we were hit in the face with it and kept getting whiffs at our table through dinner. They should invest in some air fresheners because it was bad. Our server was friendly but very to the point, gave us a quick 15 second run down of how it worked and we went to the sides/salad bar. We were there right as they opened so everything seemed fresh and untouched. The lobster bisque was great, the salads were just salads, vegetables and cheese were pretty basic. The french fries and cheese bread at our table were probably the best things they offered. The meat serving was hard to understand, we would either get bombarded with 6 meats at once or nobody would come around for 20 minutes. They didn't seem to pay any attention to if our card was green or red. A few times the table next to us got the last of a certain meat and they just never came back around to us with more. We weren't offered some that we had saw on the menu we were looking forward to. The meat itself was good but not great, some were very fatty and gristly. The sausages and flank steak were the best ones in my opinion. At the end our server pushed my drink out of the way and placed a dessert tray on the table and didn't say a word, seemed like he just expected us to choose. We said no thanks we're stuffed, and 15 minutes later he came out with a plate of caramelized pineapple for our special occasion. It was okay, tasted kind of burnt/chemically, we're not big pineapple fans but didn't want to turn it away since they made the nice gesture. Overall, it was a nice experience and trying something new is always rocky. We would probably come back and try again for another occasion, but for the price point it's just average. Unfortunately, Texas De Brazil (at least this location) does not live up to the expectation I have of what a good Brazilian steakhouse should be. The service is good, but they have serious issues with their food. When I sat down at the restaurant, I was asked how I liked my meat cooked so that they could bring it how I liked it. I told the waitress I like medium. Time after time the meats that kept coming to my table were straight up well done. I thought it might just be once or twice but when every meat coning came fully cooked to well done I decided to tell the waitress. She apologized and said she would fix it. Great. The next meats that came to my table were RARE. I didn't know it would be so hard to get steak cooked medium at a steak restaurant. At this point I was near the end of my meal and decided it wasn't worth it to try to get it right at this point. Generally I feel like the quality of meat at Texas De Brazil is not as good as I would like it to be. The variety is also not as vast as I'd like; they don't have that big of a selection of different meats - Rodizio has more variety. I had someone bring a skewer of tenderloin steak, but only gave me one thumb sized piece. He turned and left before I could ask for more. Then I was asked 10 minutes later what I'd like. The parking lot had 5 cars at 7;45PM. That should been my clue not to go in. I did & it was by far the worst meal I ever had at Texas de Brazil or anyone else that I spent over $70 for 1 person. You need to close this location. However, the worse is trying to send a complaint into their corporate offices... The response I am sure done by AI & you know it has no signature as nobody wants to be held accountable. Don't bother sending generic email messages as it will never make it up for the time & money I wasted at your place. I will never eat at a Texas de Brazil again...I have too many other choices like Fogo do Chao or Rodizzio... I will also share my experience with everyone I come across... Recently I met up with an old friend who took me to this link in the Texas de Brazil chain. I've never been to one before, but now that I have I suspect I'm going to become a regular - this place is INCREDIBLE! Our server had a great sense of humor and was very friendly. The "salad bar" is almost a restaurant all by itself (artichoke hearts, mushrooms, couscous, cheeses, hearts of palm), but don't go crazy - the best is yet to come :-) For the main attraction, the "gachos" start bringing out some of the most amazing meats - it's a carnivore's DREAM! The best part is once they start, they only stop when you flip over your disc to the red "stop" sign; when you're ready for more, just go back to "go"!
