This place is always packed, and usually I have a good experience here... unfortunately i did not the last time I went. Boyfriend and I went there for date night, we were seated quickly which was great, but unfortunately our waiter... while being incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable, made us a bit uncomfortable. He wasnt really bad, per se, he took our orders promptly and we received fast service, but he kept trying to sit with us and talk about random b.s. My boyfriend and I are the kind of people that dont go out much, but when we do, we dont want to get too chummy with strangers. Not exactly a deal breaker but it was just really awkward and we weren't sure what to do. Working in a restaurant is not easy by any means, and I understand trying to make your customers have a pleasant experience, the only thing I wish this waiter would have done was pause for a moment and try to "read the table" a bit. The first hour we were there, we almost left at least twice. It was crazy busy, not to anyone's fault. But the hostesses we dealt with and other staff, it was like they had the b team on for sure. Unfriendly, no attention to anything besides themselves. It just had all the makings for a terrible evening. But when we FINALLY got a table, and met our waiter Clay the evening turned around. Right away he grabbed a booster seat for our daughter, was quick getting our drinks. He actually walked like he cared about being swift in his interactions with the customers. He just rocked. Then our food came. WELL WORTH the wait. I had the porterhouse, most of it you could cut with the fork it was so tender. My wife had the salmon which was nothing special but was good and not dry. Free peanuts and bread is a plus. Place is dirty from years of peanut shells on floor. Had like 3 different servers. Ribs came to me burnt black on backside and sucked. By the time our original server got back to us, I took them in a box because the check came and everyone was finished eating. No tp in the ladies room. One stall in the men's room which I patiently waited half hour for. Several trips in and out of the men's room. When the guy finally got out it was an employee in there texting!! Decent atmosphere to sit and swill beer and watch bad line dancing, but I would skip the meal! The food was great but our server was terrible. We got our salads before our drinks. Had to ask another worker for water. The employees tried to blame it on a busy bar, however, we were at the bar before being seated and they were not busy. There were 3 employees behind the bar. We had a party of 7 on a Friday night. We put in our name and were told 45 to 60 minutes. We waited in our car because it was packed!! After 50 minutes our name was called, we were put at a booth for 6 with a chair on the end. The chair was 2 inches lower than the benches, so this 53 year old woman ( me) who I might add is 5 foot 8", is sitting in the aisle because I can't put my legs under the table because there is a steel table leg in the middle. The table is about chest level on me because of the low chair, I felt like a little kid, and an outsider with my group. So that was enough to put a damper on my dinner. On 2/21 at around 7pm. I visited the Texas Road House for the first time in over a year. Great food, lots of atmosphere, always a wait because of it. I guess that's a good thing. We expected it. This time the wait was over an hour, and there was only three of us. Apparently, it was the owners birthday and theyyyyyyy were celebrating. It's their right, but be smart about it and pick a different time. There were 20-30 + people in the partyand they used a bar side table, in which the wait staff made sure it was full of appetizers at all times. Not to mention the poor bar staff trying to keep up with the all drink orders from them. It was impossible for any patron to get a beer within 10 minutes. Everything was backed up, because of it. That's even if one was standing or sitting at the bar. Here's my point to the owner. Pick a different night. Anything, but a Friday or Saturday night. Daytime works, too. Don't inconvenience your patrons. There's many other great choices for dinner in the area. You're not the only gig in town. Unless someone else is buying, I shall not return. Normally I LOVE going to Texas Roadhouse, but I wouldn't recommend doing take-out. Dining at the restaurant is MUCH better. We ordered 3 dinners for take-out on Saturday night. We ordered the food on their website, and when we went to pick it up, the pick up room was crazy-busy. (One woman had been there waiting for her food for over an hour, because they messed up her original order and she had to wait for them to redo it.) For our orders, they didn't put any plain butter in the boxes for the baked potatoes. They didn't put the fresh vegetables in one of the orders. One order was supposed to have extra salad dressing, but it didn't get it. All three orders were supposed to have prime rib, but they were out of it, so we had to reorder with steaks. Two were ordered 'medium' but were quite charred on the outside and more 'medium-rare' on the inside. read more

Service was awful. Went to an early dinner (4:30) on Saturday night and waited for 15 minutes at our table but no server showed up. So they seated us and gave us the bread but figured we didn't need drinks? It was busy for that time of day but still, 15 minutes without seeing a waitress? We walked out, drive 2 minutes down to Outback Steakhouse and had an excellent meal with, more importantly, excellent service. I wont go here again. read more

Love the place and the food it great. Only issue I have is how loud everything is in there but I know its more of just how it is. The food is pretty salty but I like it that way regardless but I know others don't. There adult drinks can be strong or weak depending on the bartender, never really had one just right. Over all though it is a wonderful place to sit down and enjoy a good dinner. read more

His one is pretty good most times they do have the occasional bad waitress that insists she didn't do anything wrong I only go there for one thing and that's the smokehouse burger and one waitress insisted I ordered a nasty looking roadkill and refused to fix the problem she wouldent get me a manager. read more

I hate to do this, I always prefer to look for the good rather than the bad. I have been here multiple times and there are goods, but there are very bads.. The servers are so busy that you can barely get their attention when you need them. The cactus blossom is always a favorite, as well as the rolls with sweet butter. The steaks are not. I like to have my steak done rare to medium-rare. I ordered it this way and was given one that was well. No red in the center at all. I ate my sides and waited patiently. We finished the other food we were given and were still waiting. It took a good half an hour for our server to come over and check on us. I sent it back and when it came back, it was perfect. A shame it couldn't have just came that way, I had to get it to go since we had been there so long already. Another complaint is on their fried fish. It came in a pile of grease and was mushy, not crispy. The grilled shrimp was rubbery, the ribs were dry, the seasoned rice is bland and flavorless. The loaded fries just have some melted cheese and burnt bacon on them. It is over-all a very disappointing place. read more

My wife and younger son were just there. The steaks were good as usual although medium rare means medium rare, not medium (mine and my wife's) or medium well (my son's). We let that go but of course when the leftovers are heated up they will be one notch more well done. The waitress, Samantha, was ok but LOUD - as in at least twice the necessary volume. It was to the point that I cringed every time she opened her mouth. She was attentive, sort of. She checked back 4 times and asked if we were still doing ok but didn't clear the stack of plates in the middle of the table or refill our glasses with water - until we asked. This was an ok experience but definitely what I've had any other of the dozens and dozens of times I've been to Texas Roadhouses all over the country. Biggest issue? The only drawback is sometimes you have to wait for an hour to get seated. Other than that, food is very good. I would recommend the sirloin. It's cheaper than the other cuts of beef, but melts in your mouth like a tenderloin would. Don't forget to smother it with the mushrooms and onions. read more

We regularly visit Texas Roadhouse, usually on Friday/Saturday night. We were there on Sunday morning. We arrived before the place was busy and were seated right away. Once seated our waitress never came. We had to flag down someone to find her to come and take our drink and food order. Once she took our order, again, we waited and waited and waited and had to again flag someone down to see what happened to our drinks. Then we had someone come to our table 3 different times with salads, when only one person in our party ordered a salad. When our food finally arrived, by now the place had filled up, 2 of our steaks were rare, very rare and we ordered them medium. Again, she never came back to check after the food came so we had to flag someone down to address the steak issue. They took it back and put it back on the grill. She said she heard us say medium-rare. We sat with empty drinks. She did come around to drop the check. The table behind us had to flag someone down to find her as well and we were sitting right at the end of the bar area. So frustrating to say the least. We will definitely be scratching this off the list of places to consider when eating out. Service should not have to be so terrible. read more

I am truly disgusted with this place. I just read your code of ethics stating there is no tolerance for discrimination. I find this to be not true. I have a friend who is new to Wisconsin who was looking for employment. I suggested the Texas Road House because there is a sign posted stating the restaurant was hiring so she took her change and applied. She interviewed and she thought the interview went well and was told to come back for a second interview the following day. She returned the second day and the interviewer was unaware of meeting with this young lady and she found the interview to be very cold. This young lady has many years of experience as a server and has work for high end establishments and has an abundance of knowledge of how a restaurant is ran. This young lady holds a degree and working on her second degree in teaching. A very well spoken young lady. I guess the color of her skin is a problem. This particular location is staffed by a predominately white staff and the atmosphere was very cold. We are living in the year of 2016 and this racism still exist. You need to have them remove the sign from their loacation and post white only because that is what they are looking for. My complaint is for the restarant that is located on College Avenue in Appleton Wisconsin. read more

Disappointed tonight at Texas Roadhouse. I'm not sure if I said the wrong thing or if the waitress heard me wrong but she brought the wrong meal. After bringing out my replacement meal, I discovered it was undercooked chicken. The waitress said she could bring it back to the kitchen to check it. Who doesn't know that if chicken is undercooked this isn't even a question? Of course take it back to the kitchen. I was very nice and told her not to worry about it but to please box it as everyone in my party was nearly done eating. There was no discount on the bill. My fiancé says he thinks the manager said there would be and the waitress answered back... Well, she's bringing it home. As if I came out to dinner with a party of 7 to get a meal to go?? Anyhow, I didn't want to make a scene in front of my friends and the waitress seemed too ignorant to offer a discount so I paid the bill. It certainly didn't seem like a $50 meal for two tonight. I will be sure to recook my chicken if this one is also underdone when I get home. I wish I would have gone somewhere better with known service and quieter for that cost. read more
