My father and I come out from Washington state once or twice a year to visit family and have always come to the Roadhouse for a meal with our relatives. In previous years we have been satisfied with the service and food but today was our last visit. The service was pathetic and the food a disappointment. I'm in the service industry and understand what's involved in serving multiple tables at once so I know it's not easy. However, Emily was our server this afternoon and she seemed to be in a rush to get off work or something. Our butts had barely grazed the seats when she asked us if we were ready to order. She saw that we were just sitting down and didn't have menus yet. We ordered drinks and a couple appetizers anyway knowing what we wanted from previous visits. She returned with our drinks and again asked us for our order. We needed another minute so she returned and we ordered. The salads came out but then nothing for quite some time. All of a sudden three people were at the table with our entrees but everyone still had salad plates and appetizer plates in front of them. Nobody offered to clear our table to make room for our entrees so we were left to move dirty dishes to the open table next to us. If I wanted to bus my own table I would eat at home. My Dad asked for some extra sauce when his food arrived but it was never brought to him. Two of the entrees were inedible but Emily was nowhere to be found so the food was just pushed aside and not eaten. Halfway through our meal Emily came back and presented the check to my Dad and stood waiting for his payment. I find this to be extremely rude. Let me eat my meal with my family before I need to stop and get out my wallet. I had ordered a meal to go but never received it and had to ask another server to track it down for me. Emily didn't return once our bill was paid so I couldn't ask her about it. Something has changed at this location and it's not for the better. We will not be back. read more

I want to give HUGE kudos to Kirby,Brooke, and everyone that helped me out over the holidays. My son is in the hospital there in renal failure with no family close. I wanted to make sure he had a nice meal on Xmas eve and they worked with me to deliver a meal that worked with his dietary restrictions. Brooke took it to the hospital on her way home in a snowstorm but was not allowed to take it to him at that hour so she was assured that the ER dept would deliver it to him. Long story short he never got it. When I called a couple of days later they assured me it had been delivered and couldn't believe anyone would do that. They had a new meal prepared and personally delivered it to him. He was so grateful and I am in awe at a great group that had no reason to help me out other than they are awesome human beings. Always a fun place to get a hardy meal with your friends and family. It's always packed and busy but the staff is attentive and seem to enjoy working there. I never leave here hungry. The food is good, I tend to prefer some of the other steakhouses a little bit more for food but it's also a bit cheaper here and it's a fun environment. read more

the Manager Tonya Busher was very rude and sarcastic on phone when I called for assistance. I did not call intentionally during a busy time. But, she sure let me know how busy they were and her tone and response to me let me know I was bothering her and she was not happy about it. She needs an attitude adjustment and if she does not enjoy her job in customer service than she needs to get another one and not take it out on the customer. read more

Anytime I come here, they always cook my steak too long. I ordered the same thing I always got there, and it came out well done; I don't like pointing it out to my waiters/waitresses because I don't want to feel like I'm being rude, so my girlfriend did instead. The waitress brought the new steak out, stood there while I cut it open to make sure it was cooked correctly, and she even gave me some advice in the mean time. She was literally the best waitress I've ever had and I wish I would've gotten her name so I could give her the recognition she deserves. read more

I have been to a few of these however the waits are always a bummer but that's not the case here! This one seemed to run like a well oiled machine. We were sat at a table walking through the door (on a Wed evening so unsure about the weekends). Peanuts were plenty and rolls hot and at our table within minutes. Our food came quickly after an appropriate amount of time to allow us to enjoy appetizers and salads. Our waiter did not skip a beat getting anything we needed directly after we requested it. The food was ahhhmazing, cooked as requested, and hot/fresh! I definitely recommend this restaurant for a family outing (lots of talking and birthday celebrations; loud and busy atmosphere) or just because the food is great but it's not an appropriate choice for a quiet sit down meal. read more

My husband and I joined the waiting list on a busy Saturday night using the app. We waited in the parking lot for 65 minutes. Taking us to our table, the hostess stated that there was no water and the bathrooms were closed. They were serving drinks from 2-liter bottles of Coke and Sprite. We ordered Sprite. We ordered an appetizer, salads, and entrees. We received our appetizer and salads. All was good. Everyone around us received their meals and left. The staff was starting to clean up and put chairs up on the tables. We were the only customers left in our section. Our waitress kept checking on our entrees but never brought them. She finally told us we could give up and leave if we wanted to and we didn't have to pay for our salads or appetizer. So, we were there for nearly 3 hours, but never received our meals. I took my customer there and we had a feast. I am a fan ot Texas Roadhouse. You can get a decent meal for lunch at a good price. This place was very crowded in Ashland. The sevice was great for a large group. The food came out quickly (and it was correct). Some of my recommendations - since this is a chain - I won't go into too much. Appetizers - Bloomin' Onion - Freaking Awesome (I wish I had some beer), Ribs Appetizer - was pretty good but do not think I will order it again. We had to cut the ribs (usually these are cut so many can pick up an individual rib) Meal - We very good and everyone received what they ordered they way they wanted it. Very good meal. Best steaks in the tri-state area. My husband is from Ashland, so we eat at the Roadhouse a few times a year. It isn't really a trip home without hitting the Roadhouse. It's probably my favorite chain restaurant. Service is very good, it's a well run restaurant, managers are always on the floor making sure everything is alright. My favorite is a 6 oz. sirloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. Yum. ** Make sure to do call ahead seating -- and try to go on a bike night, great local live music, it's fun. read more

Had a 12 oz ribeye cooked to near perfection. No sauces needed is a sign of a good steak. This was a good steak. Baked potato was also the way I like it. Rolled in salt with extra butter, cheese and bacon bits. Rolls were perfect as usual. Even the unsweetened ice tea was spot on. So with all this goodness, why in the world would they serve Kraft Macaroni and cheese? I verified it with our server. Not that it's bad mac and cheese but frankly, it is beneath the standards of the restaurant. May make the kids happy but it was more than a surprise to me. It was a huge letdown. I am embarrassed for Texas Roadhouse. Won't stop me from going back but I won't order kraft mac and cheese again for damn sure. I went to eat today with my daughter and boyfriend. We were greeted by our server, Michelle(sp) & (I didn't know her previously) Michelle filled our cups without us even needing to ask and was super kind and attentive the entire time. At a point during our meal my daughter(5) started choking on her food and was struggling to breathe. I slid her out of the booth and immediately started hitting her back in the middle of the floor to dislodge the food. Michelle was with a table and noticed me hitting her back and immediately sprinted over to our table to help my daughter. (the table also saw her choking) Eventually, she was breathing okay and Michelle stayed there to make sure she was okay. I cannot explain how thankful I am for her compassion towards my daughter. She explained that she has children too and that she knew what it was like. I was teary eyed and she made a light-hearted(fully welcomed) joke to my daughter to lighten up the mood which meant so much to me. As someone that used to be a server and had a similar experiences, I felt very thankful for her. Please give her whatever section she wants and schedule she wants for a week. She was a bomb ass server. I don't care if the food is trash, an attentive, compassionate server will change an entire experience. 10/10. Thank you Michelle! read more

Got chatting with the car next to me... she had been waiting 30 min for a doz rolls. Her order took 45 min. I waited 40 min to receive my order. This was my 3rd visit. They have yet to get any order right. Avoid the Ashland location. There are better steak houses in Huntington. read more

I prefer the pork chops (the best item on the menu) rather than their steaks, which are good but not anything to write home about. Salads are good. Food overall is good. Have fun with the peanuts. Just left what was without a doubt the worst experience I've had here. Started off promisingly enough, but after our apps were served, they brought my wife's side salad but forgot my chili. We waited and waited for our steaks and when they finally appeared, the fries were cold, the steaks were barely warm. My chili was finally brought out, also cold, and had no cheese or onions. After complaining to the waitress, a manager came over and gave a weak apology and asked what we wanted in place of the fries. So we wait until our steaks are completely cold to get a hot side??? I had trouble gettin in with my wheelchair. They had a ramp, but the threshold was about two inches high and it was very difficult. Two other patrons pulled while one of my party pushed. I was nearly bumped out of my chair. Other threshold s were tile and still impeaded movement within the restaurant. If you were during a walker you probably wouldn't have too much difficulty. The food here is usually pretty good. However, around a month ago, the steak was not tender at all and tasted more like grease than anything. However, the unlimited rolls and cinnamon butter were amazing and served fresh and warm as always. After our meal we noticed a dead cockroach on our table in the corner against the wall which really gave us the creeps, the manager was very nice and calm about handling the situation and then proceeded to tell us our meal was free. Regardless of the cockroach situation, the service is AMAZING here and so are the managers, I think cleaning needs to be taken up a notch and the cooks need to step up their game. read more

I'm giving two stars because my food was delicious. I'm ONLY giving it two stars because everything else about my dining experience was terrible. We were seated in a small room packed with people. I literally could not have a conversation with my husband because it was so loud in there. There was terrible lighting in the room in general, and none over my particular table. It was too dark to read the menu. This is not an exaggeration. When the food arrived I could not see to cut fat off of my steak. As for the staff... Most were friendly but our particular waiter was not. As he walked past our table he took my glass out of my hand saying he was refilling it.... As I was attempting to drink from it. When I asked for a bag for our boxes of food he rolled his eyes and brought one with a huff. We took all of our food to go, from our appetizers to our meals because we could not stand to be there any longer. We won't be back. read more

Yesterday the kitchen messed up my steak twice. By the time I got it my family had been done eating for sometime. I then refused it letting them know the whole point of going out for a nice meal is to eat together. The manager was very understanding and gave us a coupon to comeback and give them another try. Today my wife talked me into going back, the waiter accidentally put in the wrong steak. I was understanding we are all human and make mistakes. The issue was addressed right away with a different manager saying she would get it right out to me. Once again I sat and watched my entire family enjoy there entire meal while I sat there starving. Nearly 15 minutes after my family finished eating that same manager brought out my steak. What surprised me was how standoffish she was. I let her know what had happened the day before and she literally acted aggravated that I was telling her how poor my experience had been the day before. It really put a bad taste in my mouth, which funny enough was the only flavor I tasted that night. I believe roadhouse will not be on my list of steakhouse eateries for quite sometime to come. Hopefully next time certain managers will be replaced or at least educated on how to treat people with a little understanding and politeness. read more

Love the rolls and butter, chicken critters, salads with ranch, draft beers, margaritas, fried pickles, onion blossoms, cheese fries, shrimp skewers, loaded sweet potatoes...I could go on. I always hear how great the steaks are by others in my party, but I don't really eat steak. Pretty good service most of the time. Always a busy and loud place, so go into it expecting that.
