Waited almost an hour for our food and got it only after telling the waiter it had been over 50 minutes. Steaks were over cooked and dry. Manager Said she would take steaks off the bill but we would have to pay for everything else. She gave us an appetizer for our trouble then go nasty with us. Very disappointed with this location. both steaks were cooked wrong the waitress forgot to bring out the salad the baked potato was cold. When we asked to speak to the manager it took her 25 minutes to come out and see us she refused to take anything off the bill and gave us attitude when we told her the meal was not good!!!! read more

One wouldn't think that cooking a steak to medium would be hard, especially if given 2 chances at it. Three of us ordered steak all medium. Two were close enough to eat but the third was rare. We asked waiter to have the kitchen fix it and when it came back all they did was seer the end that was cut. Upon cutting into it, it was obvious it was still rare and not edible for our friend. She refused the steak as by this time the rest of us had almost finished our meal. The waiter really didn't seem to care too much. Also most of the rest of our food was cool, not cold but not hot either. This indicates that our plates sat ready for delivery for quite some time before our waiter delivered them. Again, he didn't seem to care they weren't hot. When the bill came we noticed the returned steak was still on the bill but a discount was applied to the bill of $14. The waiter never said a word until we inquired about the discount and then he told us it was their policy to only refund part of the meal, not entire meal as is standard in the industry. Well if that was only the worst part. To make things even worse, when we were finished one of the ladies went to the bathroom before leaving. When she came out she informed us that there was no soap in the women's bathroom. This made us all wonder how the employees was their hands as required by the Board of Health after using the bathroom. How much this disgusted us is unimaginable. It makes us wonder if that is why 2 of us are not feeling well today after our dinner there last night. According to reviews both here and on other platforms it appears these are not new issues for this location as the Avon location has been getting bad reviews for many months now. Wish we had read them before going. So I called the corporate office to voice our concerns and here is where the truth comes out. Corporate doesn't care because this location is a franchise location and not a corporate location. They wouldn't take my complaint due to it being a franchise location but instead transferred me to the franchisee's home office. Once transferred there I had to leave a voice mail as nobody was available to take a call. read more

I love this place and hate this place! I love the food! I always try to order takeout. But there take out service sucks so bad I don't think I will go here anymore which is a shame because I really enjoy the food. Last three times have been horrible. Today I attempted to call in a order twice. Nobody answered the phone. Hard to order if they never answer the phone. Time prior I ordered it took 45 minutes then they were out of what I ordered. They quoted twenty mins. Time previous to this they quoted me 20 mins. I went in at 45mins because they always quote wrong. Took 10 minutes for anyone to talk to me about my order. Another 5 mins to come back and tell me it wasn't ready. It will be another 15mins. I just left the place at that point and went to a place where they actually serve customers. read more

The worst Texas road house I have ever been too! The service terrible and I gave them two chance. Went there twice will never go there again. Waiting 20 minutes for someone to take a drink order then waiting 30 minutes to get the drinks is no way to run a business. Watched the server for my table sit with another customer for 30 minutes and asked for the manager. The server before the manager even talked to her came and tossed the receipt on the table and walked away. We didn't say anything to her or mad any form of negative contact with the server to have the service we got. After the food was ordered and the appetizers came with the main meal it was the last straw. Left the restaurant will not go there again and hope others don't get this treatment. read more

TR is a good safe place to get a OK meal. Nothing special, but the burgers are good and the steaks are fine. I don't think I ever had a bad meal here. The waitress was kind of clueless to the situation, but I've worked in places like this and the turnover is serious so I bet she was new. We had a terrible experience last night at this restaurant. The server that waited on us did not remember to bring our drinks and during our meal I asked for more sour cream which I never received. This was the worst service we had ever received. To top it all off it was my daugther's 9th birthday and we always come to Texas Roadhouse because she loves the rolls and when they bring the saddle over and say yee haw. I informed our waiter it was her birthday when we got there. We completed our meal and had paid our bill and he made no effort to recognize her birthday. She left the restaurant in tears. We will not return to eat here and encourage our friends not to do so. read more

The BBQ is amazing. i can never stop ordering the fall off the bone ribs. The best part when I was little was getting to throw peanut shells on the floor and crunching them under your feet without getting in trouble. I love the Roadhouse! When i have a craving for steak and dont want to dress up and go deep in the wallet, I call ahead for carry out here. I usually stick to the same meal time and time again, the cowboy cut sirloin cooked medium with a baked potato and house salad and rolls. I dont have really anything negative to say about this place, I'm always pleased with the steak its a huge cut of meat and cheap when compared to places like Ruth's Chris or Mortens or Sullivans. For the price and convenience you just cant beat it. The steak always fills me up, it has a nice char to it usually and chews well. The flavor is just what you expect biting into a sirloin steak from a steakhouse. The salads are awesome, the ranch dressing is great and the baked potato is so good i tend to just eat it without butter or sour cream! How often can you say that about a baked potato...skin and all! The rolls are notorious and a big hit with me as well. I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone. read more

As a former employee of a Texas Roadhouse I simply don't understand where this particular one went wrong. Dining in is an OK experience--food quality is usually subpar compared to other locations-- but every time I have ordered carry out it has been a complete nightmare--being put on hold for 10-15 minutes, hung up on, told carry out is closed before it should be, etc. I am a server and have worked food service for many years so I try to be understanding, but it's gotten to be so bad that I literally just downloaded the Yelp app tonight so I could write this in hopes that changes will be made... I love Texas Roadhouse and am sad that the Avon location is the closest to my house. They should take notes from from the Shadeland location. :( read more

THIEVES BEWARE!!!!Between Christmas and New Years I ordered 3 cuts of prime rib 16oz and 1 cut of 8oz ribeye I spent $100.00 plus. I had my daughter in law pick it up on the way to our house. Not only were they over 30 minutes late getting it out to her they gave us 2 cuts of ribeye and 2 cuts of prime rib. I called them and they asked if she had signed for them and YES she did but what she signed for was 4 meals and their sides. When I told them what had happened they said they would send out a certificate to replace it. I asked them if it would replace the prime rib they replied yes. I did receive a certificate however it was for $15.00 not the $22.95 I paid. I called and talked to the owner and he replied I would not even have sent you a certificate!!! So I asked him when he would be there so I could return his certificate to him refused to tell me when he was there. If I ran my business like that I would be scared too. This restaurant is a thief and they will steal from you given the chance. There you go owner you requested I get the review right well here it is and yes it is RIGHT ON. You won't last long owning this in Avon, In and treating customers like this. You are a THIEF. If you needed $23.00 I would have given it to you. This place is so inconsistent. Your odds of having a good meal here are like taking chances on a roulette wheel. Three times in a row, undercooked steaks. How hard is it to cook a medium rare steak? I usually would never complain about this Texas Roadhouse but I had to wait over an hour for my food last time I was here, not to mention my waiter didn't ask if I wanted a refill or even come up to us for me to able to ask for a refill I had to ask a different waiter for a drink/straws/ etc.. Sucks because we came here for my brothers birthday, after waiting an hour for our food they came to tell us they dropped his steak and had to make. New one just for us to wait longer. Everyone at our table was already done eating by the time he got his food. Hopefully next time we will have better service. read more

This has to be the worst service ever! We had to wait over an hour for our steaks and to mention we 6 guys trying to celebrate a birthday 2 of our medium steaks were way over cooked, and 1 was suppose to be medium well was straight up raw where blood was all over the plate, we mentioned to our server hey Look we have 2 steaks over cooked and 1 raw, with a horrible attitude he says "You know what let me get the manager" didn't even bother saying sorry let me go get the manager. After 15 mints the manager shows up to our table and, she saysthe medium well is suppose to be like that and didn't even offer my brother a different steak she said" we can throw it back on the grill if you want , for the other two she said they look fine to me! First off, most of the food here is excellent. These guys usually know how to cook a steak, and most of the time the meal is great. Can't say so much for the service at this location, though. Seems like they've got too many teeny-bopper door openers, and to few trained wait staff. it was several minutes between our seating and when the server arrived. The food this trip, while tasty, was not the best presentation. Who serves a baked sweet potato with a SIDE CUP of raw marshmallows?? And our server was like, "That's the way it comes???" with that air-headed rising question tone at the end of the sentence. Server apparently doesn't know the difference between sweet tea and unsweetened tea, and had the 'nads to want to argue about it! Apparently had a rush on baked potatoes, and I would not have gotten mine if I wasn't keeping watch on my own service. I'm sure these are temporary problems, but let the customer beware that YOU are ultimately responsible for your own satisfaction. read more

My wife and I took our two younger kids to Texas Roadhouse only because we were given a gift card. They were busy but the wait to get seated wasn't too bad. The waitress came in a reasonable amount of time but she was not at all helpful with the menu. She also kept telling us she would bring us some rolls which she eventually did. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive. Everybody's food seemed to be good except for mine. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. It came out do well done that is closer to beef jerky than a steak. I told the waitress and she asked if I would like another steak. I told her I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for one to be cooked. She simply said "ok" and walked away. I had to ask to see the manager. When I spoke to the manager, her response was"yeah, we have a lot of trouble with the kitchen". She did remove it from my bill. If you must go to Texas Roadhouse, my advice would be to get the onion blossom and go somewhere else to get some real food. read more

This place is a joke. Went to dinner will my family we all ordered steak medium and when the steaks where brought out they where all well done! Given it was 945 pm at night we told the waiter we would eat the sides and no need to remake them bc we just wanted to go home. Kyle said he would get the manager who came over to the table said well given we don't want to send them back there is nothing he would do, and according him we didn't throw a fit so he wasn't didn't discount our bill or anything. We called ahead for 11 people and they sat us at 3 different tables. Then waitresses did not get orders right. Ordered 2 apps only got one. Three ordered sweet potatoes and never got them. One ordered mashed potatoes and had to ask for them after steak came. Steak ordered med rare and it was cooked done to shoe leather. Had to search for waitress to get anything she just disappeared for long periods of time. She needed help and no other wait staff offered to help her, they were either talking to each other or cleaning light fixtures. Only offered bread one time had to ask for refill in drinks. This was a celebration dinner for granddaughter and it was awful. Have never had these problems there before. Either the waitress needs more training or the kitchen needs some. Hands down the best steak and atmosphere in Avon! We go here often and really love the 6 oz sirloin and the salads too. Everything tastes so fresh and isn't as costly as the other steak places. My kids like the chicken critters and it is a fun atmosphere so they can enjoy dinner. MUCH easier to dine out when the restaurant is like Texas Roadhouse read more

I ordered for takeout for 6pm since I'm staying in a hotel nearby. I arrived a bit early since I'm unfamiliar with the area and waited until about 5:45 to go in. I acknowledged that my order was probably not done since I was 15 minutes early, but it was ready. If I had arrived on time my food would have been sitting for at least 15 minutes. Food was warm enough but not what I would have expected. I got four rolls with my meal which was unexpected, but definitely not complaining there. The cashier, Luna, was soft spoken and did not greet me, simply asked if I was there to pick up food. She was very difficult to hear over the loud music that is standard in any Texas Roadhouse. I didn't mind the wait while she answered the phone, but there were many others waiting before and after me and I feel like she was under a lot of pressure. She should have had another employee back there with her especially since the carry out area appears to be equipped for two behind the counter. read more

Earlier today around 2:30 pm me and my friend decided to stop in and have a late lunch . To start off , the hostess was very polite and seated us and we were told our waiter would be right with us . After 15 minutes of no waiter I flagged down someone and explained that we had been seated for a while and no one has came to greet us . The lady I spoke with happened to be a manager and stated that she would send someone right away and that I could have a free appetizer on the house for the wait . The manager then told another server to take our order even though it was not his section . After our orders were placed the server I'm guessing that was supposed to serve our table came with two glasses of water with lemon and slammed the glasses down on the table and walked away . This made me and my friend feel so uncomfortable that we immediately got up and left . On the way out a hostess told us thank you for stopping in and have a great evening . I explained to her what had happened and that is why we were leaving . I have eaten at this restaurant before and have never had a bad experience until now . My husband and I thought we would go to Texas Roadhouse today, we haven't been their in a while and loved their friendly ways and food. What Happened To You Guys!!! We got their @ 11:20 AM Sunday, the host were very nice and seated us, (note we were like the 5th couple their). We were seated on the Northeast upper level of the area closest to US 267, We had our rolls and were fresh as always with side of butter. The waitress passed by to assist a couple that was seated before us, helped them. And walked by us. A few minutes later, She went to the table across from us and asked if they needed anything, we herd them say No we are fine. And again walked past us. A few minutes later, she went to the table behind us that just sat down and asked what they were going to have to drink? Got their drink order and again walked past us. We waited and she came back with their drinks, and walked past us again. So for the first time in over 12 years we walked out of the place I use to enjoy going too. The only service we had was we got seated, and we got rolls. No drinks, not even a "I will be with you in a minute"!! Like I said before we were the 5th table that arrived, was not busy, and we even seen our waitress standing over at the bar talking to another waitress!!! We always leave great tips where ever we go, but instead of leaving one for the waitress, we are leaving this tip to you the readers, make sure you bring your own drink and be prepared to stay a while, Oh, and make sure you you don't get the tables where a older bleached blond hair waitress that wears shorts to work. my family and myself use to go to Texas roadhouse once or twice a week. the last few visits ,,,4 to be exact ive asked for prime rib on Friday evenings varying from 5 ,5;30 6,6:30 and after a 30 min wait and finally seated and drinks taken and appetizers, they come to take our food order , the family orders then my turn i open my mouth and say 10oz prime rib and the same answer,,, we are out of prime rib,,, so change of steak choice and again same thing every-time i ask for medium it comes out bloody and red , sent it back and by the time i get it back everyone's all doneeating and im stuck with a butchered up steak that's still red and not worth eating .. so FML im over Texas roadhouse and there servcie, there only excuse they say is we are sorry heres a free appetizer , i say no thanks and buy the place has gone to crap.. p/s friday night out of prime rib WTF its a steak place and to be out on a friday night before 6.00 pm is B/S they need a new manager that knows how to order or prepair a full day of steak available .. read more

Planned a wonderful family party of 8 guests for my husband's birthday tonite. Food was good, waitress Kennedy had great service. However, the area they choose to seat us in registered 84.3 degrees. I complained several times about the excessive heat and pointed out to the staff, my mother, at 87yrs old is unable to tolerate that kind of temperature. Manager, A.J. came and apologized, she stated if she turned down the air any more it would freeze her AC coils. Everyone was apologetic, yet no one offered any solutions to improve the situation. We opted to cut the party short due to the intolerable heat..when I left, I looked for the manager again, I stepped into the bar area and it was delightfully cool, When I could not locate A.J, I informed the hostess of our displeasure and we would never be back. Again all I got was apologies..WE WILL NEVER SPEND OUR HARD EARNED MONEY THERE AGAIN! Me and my best friend decided to go get lunch at our favorite restaurant. We were a hour away and decided to go to the avon location because that's our favorite location. We ordered appetizers our appetizers came out fresh and hot and in the middle of eating we spotted a roach crawling on the table. We told our waiter he killed the roach and said he was going to talk to a manager about it. A manger came to the table after notifying them a second time about the situation. When the manager got there her attitude was very nonchalant, she kept saying there was nothing they could do, how they do inspections twice a month and also how they can't control Mother Nature. Our waiter lied to the manager and said that it was a water bug after he admitted to us that it was a roach. All we wanted was half off on our bill and they acted like they couldn't give us half off. They made us pay full price . I felt like they were looking at us like we just wanted to eat for free and I don't need a free meal. I will no longer be coming back to the texas roadhouse in avon! Being an experienced server thats not how you take care of your customers. Customers are always right and as a waiter/waitress our goal is to make sure the customer is happy. Don't go to this TRH. I gave it a 1 star only because I had to to leave the review. On August 22, 2015 at 6:30 pm our group of 14 was seated in separate locations with different waiters. 4 at two separate tables and 6 at another. The table that had 6 and one of the table of 4 ordered, ate, and received the check before the other table of 4 even received their food. At that point in time which was at 7:30 we inquired about our order and complained that the rest of our party had finished and we're ready to leave. The waiter said on two occasions after an hour of waiting that our food was being prepared. We tried asking him a few times more and he just ignored us. We asked for the manager and got the guest/customer person. She was so confused. Then I got up and went to the kitchen area an insisted on talking to the manager. They said she was working on our food and that the waiter didn't turn our order in until we started to inquire after an hour asking where our food was. At 7:45 we finally got our food but was so frustrated on how we were treated that we left the restaurant. Two of the four of us stayed to wait on the others and the manager told them NOT TO COME BACK! No apology just excuses! read more

We decided to take my mom out for her birthday she wanted prime rib so we chose Texas Roadhouse. Usually we have a great time time but this time was far from it. We got there around 5:25 ordered drinks about 5:35 places our orders around 5:45. Maybe around 6:20 the waitress came back out and apologized and informed us there wasn't any prim rib and advised my mom to try the ribeye instead which she ordered. From us talking and having a good time we wasn't paying attention to the time when we checked it was now 7:40 and we were just receiving our meals, but we all soon realize that they weee cold not warm but cold. So we informed our waitress and she said sorry and that she will fix it. They took all out food back and within 3 minutes they were back out. They placed our food back on the table and walked away. But to our surprise every think was still cold. So we informed our waitress again and this time she brought back her manager. I don't remember the managers name but she came over trying to be nice but being super Sarcastic, telling us she just had remade all of our meats which was two 20 oz bone in ribeyes with two orders of grilled shrimp a 10oz ribeye, a 10oz sirloin with shrimp. Barbecue ribs and chicken and a kids rib basket. So that made me wonder how can you remake that much food that fast. So obviously it wasn't true, so when we challenged what she was saying she kept cutting us off saying we were wrong and etc. so at that point we didn't feel comfortable anymore with having our food remade or staying at the restaurant any longer. So we asked to just cancel or orders and we would pay for the drinks we had. She came and slammed the receipts on the table and walked away. I personally don't believe that that lady should be managing anyone with a attitude like she had. That will be the last time I go to that location. read more
