The service after we got seated was wonderful. The waiters are so friendly and always make sure your needs come first. However we came at 11 with the family and it was a party of 7. We were told we couldn't sit together because there wasn't a waiter here to serve all 7 of us at the same time. I would think any waiter could serve a party of 7 but apparently I was incorrect. We're here to visit family that we don't get to see much and we wanted to sit together. I normally wouldn't complain much but I have been to a roadhouse where more than 7 people were served by one waiter. I don't normally write bad reviews but this needs to be addressed. We used to really like Texas Roadhouse but we had not been there in years. But our sons had received awards for a free meal at Texas Roadhouse. So we decided to give it a try again. But after this visit we will never go back again. Our server was pretty good. We had no complaints with her. But when our meal was brought out one of our sons had a ticket on his plate under his food and the person who ran our food out just grabbed it off his plate. Ewwww. And I had ordered my steak medium well. It came out more like medium rare. I sent it back. So I had to wait while my family was eating their meal. We had ordered fried pickles for an appetizer and decided we did not like it. Our server said she would see if the manager would take it off. We did not ask her to do that. We thanked her. When we went to pay we gave them our kids eat free certificates but we were told we could only use one certificate because they could not put two codes into their computer. Even though the certificates clearly said you could receive two kids free meals with one adult meal and we purchased two. It was a horrible visit and they lost our business! read more

Went today for my birthday. Wish I hadn't. We walked in and noticed 4 servers sitting on the bench texting on their phones. We were seated and our drinks came in a timely manner. We ordered and set, and set, and set... after watching everyone around us getting salads and then dinner entrees, we flagged down another server to see what was wrong. Well our waitress was missing.??. Another waitress told us she would now be our server..the manager came over to say that there had been an emergency and our server was sent home. Our new server took care of us as best as she could..We were upset because this should have been avoided by the manager by taking over the first server's patrons. When we got our bill, there hadn't been any adjustments for our inconvenience. When we inquired about this the manager had our server take off 10%. Wow, worst service i have had in a long time. Brought my family there for dinner, and while it was busy, there was no shortage of people in roadhouse shirts standing around. Over 45 minute wait for our dinner, while other tables were seated, ate and left!! Then the manager "voti" chases us into the parking lot to pay for one drink? That one drink cost you 5 dinners and a customer for life. The only reason I went back to pay was to tip the server. I felt bad she has to work under such incompetent supervision. The bread was hot and fresh... and that is about the only complimentary thing I can say. We have given this location more than one chance, and we always have complaints. This time, the food was cold, and our waitress told us she didn't know what to do. We will not be back. Apperizer took 25min to come. The meal came 2min after the appetizer. The steak was overcooked, ribs were dry and overcooked, fries were undercooked and not seasoned. Although this is a chain restuarant. The food here is very great. The atmosphere is lively and fun. This place is always packed especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Many teenagers are the waitors and waitresses. The atmosphere is great. They usually play great Souther Rock and Country music. They usually play artists such as Alan Jackson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, and other great artisits. They offer what many think is the greatest steaks on the west side of Indianapolis. read more

My hhusband and I went here for a date night because he really wanted steak. I'm a vegetarian and the waitress named angel worked so hard to create a meal for me. Horrid Service and total disregard for our order. I actually think that the staff did it on purpose to punish us for ordering late in the evening. I called at 10 minutes until 9 pm to place an order to go. I spent 5 minutes trying to get through to a live person because they kept picking the phone up and hanging it up. They close at 10 pm so I did not understand why they were hanging up. We did not want to leave the hotel and miss the Women's Final Four play off games. I finally got a live person and asked for the Manager. Robin said that they stop taking to go orders at 9 pm so I figured that is why I was getting hung up on. I asked her if it was still OK to order and she said that it was. She took my order for ribs and pulled pork, salad with Blue cheese dressing, sweet potato with nuts, cinnamon and sugar and a steak with shrimp. We do not eat beef unless it is well done, no pink. I made a special request that the steak be well done with no pink and that they could butterfly the steak if need be. The counter staff was rude to my husband when he arrived to pick up the food. He returned with no silverware, ranch dressing instead of blue cheese, NO ribs with the pulled pork and a steak that was pink inside. To add insult to injury the special topping for the sweet potato was brown sugar in a small cup. Just plain brown sugar like out of the box. No nuts and this is not what you get at other Texas Roadhouse restaurants. I called the restaurant and got hung up on no less than 4 times when I finally got Robin on the phone to complain. She informed me that they lock the doors at 10 pm when I asked her about replacing our food. Seriously, her response to my complaint was a locked door? I found out these are franchise restaurants so there is no Corporate office to complain to so you get what you get from the owner of the franchise. Mike Cradick, this could be spelled wrong, owns this Texas Roadhouse franchise, per Robin. Obviously, there is no quality control from location to location. This was the worst experience I have realized in a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant. My husband got our money back but dinner was ruined and we could not eat the steak and everything was cold and wrong. Just had lunch with family here today. Awful service. First, steaks were not cooked as we had asked. Second, they ran out of our sides and instead of asking us before they brought the food out if we would like to substitute or wait for it to come out with our meal. They just brought out our meal and said it'd be 15 minutes for the rest. Asked for manager, manager trivialized our concern. Tried to explain their communication process as if it wasn't their fault. When I told her that this should have been communicated to us first, she gave up and stated flatly what we wanted her to do. I don't know? Why don't you tell me what you're going to do. Don't expect your customer to handle your problem. As a manager, take initiative and fix the problem. After that, we had a free appetizer on our phone. Waitress took phone instead of writing it down. (Seriously people, this is a liability on your end if the phone breaks or there is privacy issues.) And failed to use it. So charged another person the appetizer in an attempt to hide the fact. This used to be my families go to place for the end of week dinner. I will never darken the door again. We kept going after a bad experience giving them the benefit of doubt but they have convinced me not to go back. Four dinners back three adults ordered chicken and all three of us got sick. I called the manager who said I'm sorry but never offered us anything for the bad experience. The next time they lost our order and we sat there for 45 minutes so when I finally ask where are food was they cooked it and brung it to us with no apology or anything from the manager. The next time we ordered a steak and baked potato and a bbq chicken and baked potato. They brung the plates out with just a steak and a pc. of chicken and told us there was not another potato on the property. So when I ask for a manager they magically showed up with two baked potatoes fresh and hot. With no apology for the big production and lie about they didn't even have any on the property. To beat all the manager set across from us stuffing her face while all this was going on and the waiters were back by us Dancing with each other and telling me they had no food to fill our order. REALLY? A steak house with no baked potatoes at seven o'clock on a Friday. So the last time I came in which was just yesterday. I called ahead like an hour and told them when we would be there. They said no problem. And gave me a number. When i got there they didn't have my name down or the number they gave me. So they added it in and told me just a few minutes. I stood there for twenty more minutes while they seated people who came in the door when I did. So I ask and said I called ahead an hour ago and have stood here twenty minutes so you have known that long and you are seating people ahead of me that walked in when I did. I had the worst experience ever at this location. We came on Sunday July 19th 2015 at around 6:30pm. When we ordered our food I asked for the combo steak and shrimp my wife asked for the combo roasted chicken and steak. The sever than tells us that they are out of shrimp and roasted chicken. My wife little disappointed asked for the country steak to replace the waitress comes back five min later and said they are also out of the country steak. At that time I asked to speak to the Manger because three things that we asked for they did not have. The manger (which I did not believe was the manger btw). Said they did intact have shrimp and roasted chicken and began to retake our order once again. Confused by the situation we thought everything was ok now and our food would be up shortly. Absolutely horrible. Does not even deserve one star. I took my son on his birthday April 10, 2016, 17th birthday. There was a wait so I discreetly told the hostess to please let our server know that it was his birthday. We order our meals mine came out I ordered the blackened salmon it came out baked with butter and herbs on it. I told my server it was supposed to be blackened and she proceeded to tell me that they told her it was blackened and I said no it was not she took it back short time later she brings the salmon back out to me mind you it was the same salmon that was brought out to me the first time the only difference this time they dipped it in seasoning and send it back out. How in the hell can a restaurant serve food like that? That is not the way you do blackened salmon it was awful. Then to top off the night my son's birthday was not acknowledged. We typically like the food and drinks at most Texas RH locations however, after our last couple of visits we have given up on the Avon location. We have tried this location once each of the last three weeks. Each time the steaks we're under cooked and by the time they brought them back from cooking them a second time everyone else at the table was done eating. One of the visits was to celebrate a birthday and there were eight people in our group, they brought out two meals early and then it was fifteen minutes before the others came out. One of the steaks was ordered medium and it was virtually raw. Each time the manager indicated they were sorry but were only able to offer a coupon for a free appetizer on our next visit. On one of the visits my wife tried the prime rib and it was unrecognizable as compared to any prime rib we have ever seen, it was dark brown and was cooked beyond recognition. Inside the restaurant it's looking pretty worn out and in need of serious attention, outside the parking lot has pot holes and is greasy, lights out on the sign and in just altogether poor condition.
