This is $142.00 (W/O Tip) worth of Smokey Bones food. Looks like food is missing? Nope.

OK maybe this is just whining about how EXPENSIVE (everything) is these days but GOOD GOLLY. We bought food for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. -- All the sides were 1/3 - 1/2 full, except the mac n cheese, which was little more than 1/2 full. -- There wasn't enough to go around with the sides, meaning each one had to partake sparingly. Now, The food was decent but not out of this world by any means. It came to $142.00 and change w/o tip. What in the world? The ONLY things missing from the picture is 1/2 piece of cornbread, 2 skewers of the pork and a 1/3 filled container of beans. The one closed black container contains 2 more pieces of cornbread. We have no plans to return with such crazy prices. Sidenote: - The "Housemade BBQ Baked Beans with Pulled Pork and Brisket" -- -- Maybe Pulled Pork and Brisket FLAVOR, I saw no meat. End of Rant lol

I liked that there was no wait and we got a table right away. The transition from Smokey bones to IHop and back seems not to have interfered with the ambiance. The waiter was very friendly, not so much knowledgeable, because he had to ask someone and return with an answer. To the food--the fire roasted corn looked delicious, but the texture was mushy. The coleslaw tasted fresh and crunchy and seemed to be homemade. The meat selection was extensive, but there was no sampler platter available, unless you were willing to spend $$$. I ordered the Two meat sampler, which did not include BBQ ribs or Brisket. If you wanted either meat, it cost an additional $5.00 each. It seemed there were no substitutions on the sides. Every extra or substitute cost at least 1 to 2 dollars. My pulled pork and 1/4 chicken sampler platter were deprived of SMOKE flavor. There were many BBQ sauces available , which made up for it, but the size of the 1/4 chicken looked more like a chicken wing or a cute baby chick, ( which made me so sad :( ) Don't think I'm going for more.

Food was Amazing Service was exquisite words can not explained the great service we received as it was our first time Ambiance was awesome, great vibes

Purchased wings and it happened to be BOGO free so I got double and they were perfect. Bought the corn bread as well and was a little disappointed it didn't have much corn in it but they were still good. The service was the best part as we received multiple refills and our waiter was very prompt. The service is one of the reasons why we will continue coming back to this location.

We arrived for early dinner at 5:30. There weren't too many tables filled so when we changed our mind about the booth, we were easily accommodated and moved to a table. We ordered cornbread as our appetizer after reading some reviews on yelp, and it was delicious and the maple bourbon butter was amazing. I was able to take some home with me. I ordered the pick three meats, and I have the sausage, the pulled pork And the barbecue chicken breast. My sides were coleslaw and steak fries I would not order the steak fries again because they were overcooked and they weren't very many of them. The coleslaw was really tasty and reminiscent of like the old KFC or Chick-fil-A coleslaw so I loved it. I ate the sausage there had quite a kick, but it was delicious and had the pop that natural casing makes when it's been fried. My friend had the sausage and chicken as well and we both had plenty to take home. Our waitress was very attentive, but then let us talk to our contents, since there was very few patrons inside yet overall a really good experience that based out the tables quite a bit and they probably put a few more in there but they definitely don't need to. I remember coming here right after Covid and thinking that's why the tables had so much space but it's still the same way now, I know they do it partially so if they have big tables, they can easily add the tables together to make larger groups. I enjoy this location and the food here are there better places for barbecue? probably but it was still a good experience nonetheless.

Sorry presentation of what was called brisket, fire roasted corn, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, smoked sausage.
    Greg R.

Service was nice and attentive. The restaurant was/is clean but reminds me of a cafeteria. The food: there should be a warning --"If you are expecting real BBQ food then go elsewhere " The brisket was just rewarded up after being cooked in a pellet smoker too long. The fire roasted corn was just burnt bland corn kernels. The mashed potato's with brown gravy was whipped up from a box and the gravy is from a can. The presentation in itself will tell you exactly how it tastes. Don't get me wrong, there are many times that how it looks will fool you but not this time. This place needs to put up a sign that apologizes to everyone that has eaten here and then apologize to all the cooks that really cook BBQ. Stop taking advantage of people in this town by passing off sub quality BBQ as real BBQ.

Smokey Bones was a staple for me when I was younger living in Northwest Indiana. When I went off to college, I was sad when they were no longer in business. Fast forward years later (not sharing how many) I see it has re-emerged in Avon. I had to try it right away. Of course, going on a Saturday means the restaurant being packed but never fear, bar seating is available. I started with a pork belly appetizer and chose a pulled pork sandwich and half slab rib combo with two sides. The presentation was beautiful and the food was decent. I ordered a banana pudding desert and was too full to finish so I had to get it to go. Nostalgia brought me back but I think I'm going to stick with non-chains for my BBQ needs.

This was our first visit to Smokey Bones. It wasn't busy when we came in for a later dinner on a Tuesday night around 8:00 pm. We were seated right away and our waitress came to take our drink order. The restaurant smells like bbq when you walk in, which is awesome when you are super hungry! Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. She checked on us often. My husband and I had the bone fire. It is served to you on a smoking hot grill. We got the 2-3 portion. It was enough for two people. Not sure about three. It was really good. The potato wedges were really tasty. Our daughter had the boneless wings and fries and she gobbled every bit of it up. I would come back.

I had heard they were going to reopen Smokey Bones in Avon so I was super excited to see it coming back. I had been here several times before it shut down and I use to like the BBQ a lot. I received the menu and decided on the platter with brisket and pulled pork. i also added the side of corn and french fries. The service was pretty good throughout our time dinning here. I didn't like the brisket as much as I thought I would it was quite thick piece and I think multiple thinner pieces would be better. it tasted ok and the sauce choices were pretty good. I like the tangy and hot sauce. The pulled pork was pretty good but is a but dry. The toast is a good accompaniment with the brisket. Overall I would return as the restaurant service was good and I love BBQ and the renovated space looks very nice inside.

I'm sad my picture of the grill with all the meats didn't save for some reason. Anyway I think that was a really cool concept except some of the meat was still cold. The whole thing isn't completely hot. Some of the smaller pieces fell thru the grates. They have such a variety of sauces. The drink specials were awesome they had a lot of $5 specials. I enjoyed the kurveball. Everyone should try it. Great for grilling. Tastes like BBQ. I didn't care for our service in the bar. We were the only ones there and it was late. Not the friendliest. I would go back for the drinks and to try something different.

    BOGO Wings on Mondays
    Laura T.

Very, very, very disappointed!!!!! Because it was BOGO Wings on Monday, I thought to myself, wings would be the perfect thing to share after a hard day at work. I don't know if it was the time we went or what, but the wings were down right horrible!!! They tasted old. Old as in, they were cooked the day before and tossed and reheated or cooked earlier that morning then tossed and reheated. The wings were so dry, old and hard that if you didn't have any teeth, you'd be in trouble. The wings weren't wingin like they should have; especially when advertising BOGO. In addition to the day old wings, we ordered a side of fries. The first batch that came out was old. They definitely wouldn't have made it through quality. It was brought to the server's attention and even she agreed that they weren't up to par. She apologized and put an order in for some fresh fries. The second batch that came out was what we should've gotten the first time around. Our server was made aware of how disappointed we were and not pleased with how the night went. She apologized so many times and in fact, seemed a bit embarrassed. I only gave 1 star because we did receive great service from our server.

I gave this place a few weeks after it's opening to give a review. We ordered online and picked up at restaurant. We had a 5:40p pick-up time. Unfortunately, our food was not ready. It was 21 minutes later before it was ready. Hopefully, they will get better on that. The ribs were absolutely delicious! I was concerned going with St. Lois style they would be tough. They were not! The Carolina mopping was the sauce we went with and it was some of the best sauce I've had! The boneless bites were not good at all. Dry, no flavor and not appetizing at all. Their Mac n Cheese is FIRE! It is a 1.99 up charge. The Street Corn was okay, but also is a 1.99 up charge and I wouldn't get it again. Their pork sandwich with the Carolina mopping was delicious too! The fries were cold, no seasoning and a pass next time. But, those RIBS!!! FIRE! We also became a rewards member and they would not take our $10 reward since the Ribfest we got is a special, The flavor of the meat was exceptional! Would order it again!

This was not a big deal as our backed potatoes had enough starch and we took the rolls home. Food was good, and typical for this chain. NY Strips have connective tissue and this was not exception. Logan's Roadhouse Review…read more I came here to try it out, despite the 2 1/2 star ratings. I've rated this a 2, which is uncommon for me, -most of my reviews are 5s. It didn't help to start, that I had to wait about 4 minutes at an empty greeter station until someone came out to welcome me. In fairness to her, she did apologize, and led me to my table. I was quickly asked by someone if I wanted to start with a beverage. Then, there was bread and butter brought to the table. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea. It arrived quickly and I ordered my meal. (The iced tea was good.) I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye (rare) with a cup of chili and a salad. Within a few seemingly short minutes, the rest of the food arrived. I commented to the waitress that it was quick, thinking their process is to turn their tables quickly, but she said it was because I asked for the steak rare. The steak had a grey hue to it, and was noticeably thin, but the chili and salad looked good. I should've ordered the 24 oz. steak because when I was done trimming the fat and gristle from it, there was at least 4 oz. of that put to the side. (See pictures). I think their calorie estimates might be wrong on the menu too, because I definitely burned off a lot of calories wrestling with my utensils to get a decent amount of edible beef. I get that a Ribeye has a lot of marbling, but this was rough and tough. I will say, the chile was good (4/5), and the salad was good and fresh (5/5). But at a place that has Roadhouse in their name, I don't think the side salad should be their banner product! I think their corporate marketing and product teams are trying, but I think they should spend less time with gimmicks (like member discounts and butter of the month club for members) and more time negotiating with their suppliers of beef for better cuts of meat. With Texas Roadhouse a walkable distance away, this place is no doubt losing the battle. Maybe I'm wrong but I think these two, and Longhorn Steakhouse are all fair competitors, but after this experience, I'm hoping to remember to pass this one up for either of the other two. I've dined at both the other two and they leave this place in the dust. I did join the Logan membership, primarily to get the Welcome one time $5 discount, (thank goodness) bringing the $24.99 price to under $20. The good news is, my waitress was friendly, though seemingly unmotivated, and I showed my appreciation for her friendliness in her tip, which she had to share with the bartender and, unfortunately the greeter who was preoccupied when I arrived, as I said. In summary, I think this rating and review would probably be accurate for other locations as well, because it seemed to be a steak quality issue that is probably company wide.

It is a sauce-on-the-side affair so if you don't like it goopy and slick, you can just enjoy the smokey seasoned flavor of the meat. I got the rib and chicken combo plate. The ribs were excellent. I got the mild sauce, which on their little spice level chart is the second mildest sauce above "sweet", was just flavored enough to have some ground pepper spice (not heat) and still have a little sweet. Statehouse Market is just what it sounds like - a weekly farmer's market that occurs during the lunch hour on the Indiana Government Center campus. It features a variety of food trucks, food vendors, craft vendors, and assorted other groups. I've been pretty quiet with the reviews from Statehouse Market this year - partly because my schedule has been bonkers and partly because I've mostly been sticking with familiar food trucks. Que King has been one of the exceptions. Que, which on the truck is noted as standing for "Quality Urban Eats," is a Black-owned food truck specializing in, you guessed it, BBQ type items. The menu was modest sized yet featured the likes of pulled pork, a Steak Burger, pulled chicken, baby back ribs, and a few other main items. There are sides available and a few drinks, as well. The prices were pretty decent. First off, I must note super friendly employees. The young man at the window was friendly, helpful, and accommodated a wheelchair using customer quite well. I was impressed. I ordered a Steak Burger. It came with a bag of chips (Lay's). It came on a bun. It had the usual on it, though you could also get a sauce. The menu didn't say cheese was an option, though it must've been since they offered it. The burger wasn't a behemoth, however, it was tasty with a nice grilled taste. It was served up quickly - which I appreciated as this market occurs during our lunch hour. If I have one modest complaint, it's that the chips were downright awful. They were so bad that I checked their date (they weren't expired). They tasted stale and were so bad I didn't eat more than 4 or 5 of them before tossing the bag. This really is a modest concern, however, it definitely was disappointing alongside a solid burger. So, this time around I'm going to have to go with a 4-star. They did have some nice side options (including seasoned fries) and should I return (and I would), I'll likely try a side even if I have to pay a bit more. Overall, a pleasant new find among Indy's food trucks and I hope they return to Statehouse Market.
