I recently visited Texas road house and it was my first visit to this chain of restaurant. Loved the experience. It was a mixed experience when it comes to food. Beef tips was top notch. Loved every piece of it along with the rice. Country fried chicken was okay. Loaded Baked potato and fries could've been better. The rolls that were served before the food was wonderful. We finished up two basket of rolls, and staffs did a great job in loading the basket with rolls before we could ask for one. Staffs did a great job by checking in periodically to make sure we're satisfied with the food. However, I was slightly un-happy with the front desk who took longer time to seat us even though we had a reservation and bunch of tables being available. Ambience was great. Would recommend a dine in experience rather than carry out. This is located on the west side of greyhound plaza strip mall in Carmel/Westfield area. Plenty of parking spots available. read more

First time checking out the new location- came here at prime dinner time on a Friday night and had a 40-50 minute wait. There's lot of stores around though if you don't care about waiting in the restaurant. The staff were friendly especially the host/hostess who seemed very busy throughout our time waiting in the restaurant. Our server was extremely nice as well. She was very attentive and outgoing. We tried the potato skins appetizers which had a delicious seasoning on it which was not the last time we got these at a different location- this was a few months ago but I'm not sure if this is an updated menu item or just location based. I also had the sirloin which had a tastier seasoning that previous- very well cooked and delicious. I enjoyed it with my side salad. Of course, best part of the trip was the fresh rolls and cinnamon butter. Our first batch was a little overdone but our waitress noticed and was quick to replace them. It was nice to see Texas Roadhouse come into this space, and they seem very popular. The place that it replaced was a favorite for many years, and I suspect Texas Roadhouse will do well. I arrived without a reservation or call ahead on a Friday night soon after it opened, and everything seemed very upbeat and fun. Everyone was smiling and sometimes it looked like the staff outnumbered the customers. It took about 20 minutes to be seated. I could not resist the Porterhouse steak. That's a New York strip and a Filet on a single bone. I didn't really understand some of their terminology so I figured you can't mess up a Porterhouse. My opinion is a little complex. First, the steak was very tasty and it was massive. I think it's billed as 23oz. At the high end places you get a 40 or 48oz Porterhouse which is much thicker and meant to be split. For me this was both a better deal and it also cooked more consistently than a thicker steak. My only concern was that the strip side was more done than the filet. Just order it rare and check the strip side when it gets to the table. I assume I ordered some potato and vegetable whatever; there was something else on the plate that I ate. I very much enjoyed the steak and will return soon. Parking is a fairly plentiful although it's really popular. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for what you get. read more

Rolls were still raw, kids burgers were rare, tenders were petrified, then paid extra for items to be loaded and didn't receive them. Ordered 3 gallons of sweet tea and received unsweetened. PLEASE READ!!! Our waitress tried to steal my gift card with over $300 on it. Here's what happened: the bill came totaling $56 and some change. Knowing that I've barely used my $500 visa gift card, I decided to use it to pay the bill. My fiancée had cash so we put $11 in cash on the table for the tip. When our waitress came up to get my card to process payment, she grabbed the tip as well. Never experienced that before but it gets worse... She comes back to our table rather quickly and says "thank you for coming, the gift card has a ZERO balance on it now, would you like me to go ahead and throw it away for you?" At first I said "yes okay" but I came to my senses a split second later and replied, "no thanks I'll take my card" now scratching my head in disbelief because how is it possible my new $500 card is already at zero AND it covered the $56.28 bill exactly? Not a chance!!! I even asked her if the bill was fully covered and she said "yes." I got my card and immediately called Visa and lo and behold, the card still had over $300 on it. I then located the manager (who was wearing a pink polo collared shirt) and explained to him exactly what happened. He asked who the server was and unfortunately I never got her name but I did point her out to him. She was serving the southeast side of the restaurant today between 2-2:30pm, Saturday December 14th, 2024. I can't help but think this isn't the first time she has pulled this scheme and I'm sure I'm right. The audacity to steal like this from people, especially this time of year, is incredible. This server should be fired immediately and investigated. I'm not dumb and I almost let her have the card out of convenience. If it wasn't her fault, then Texas Roadhouse's Point of Sale system is flawed, which I highly doubt - I've worked this industry and many POS systems. This was intentional. I told the manager her service was horrible too, which it was. Asked for a 2nd butter for the rolls after we ran out and never got it. Only served one drink throughout the entire meal. And she brought the bill to us without asking how the food was or if we needed anything or even if we wanted dessert. She even handed the bill to my fiancée once she brought it. I've been going to Texas Roadhouse for many years, the food and service has been nothing short of amazing.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch Friday and were able to take advantage of the early dine special. We have been to Texas Roadhouse many times. We have had very good experiences all but one time (that particular evening they were extremely busy and a bit short on staffing). We both selected chicken critters with our favorite sides, enjoyed the delicious rolls and I enjoyed a beer in a frosty mug. It is an open setting and therefore a bit loud - especially when someone is celebrating a birthday - but that only adds to the charm. Was served the toughest sirloin ever this week at my local. Couldn't even finish it, because my jaw was aching. Returned tonight. While the steak was better in chewability, it needed seasoning. The ribs were okay; normally the meat falls off the bone. Excellent loaded potato with plenty of sour cream, cheese, butter, and bacon bits. And the rolls were spot on! Now for the wait staff. Our waiter took at least five minutes to even greet us. Then he expected us to know right off the bat what we wanted, not even asking if we had accessed the online menu. The online menu doesn't even have steak sizes, just pricing. It took forever for our salads to arrive. The meal arrived shortly thereafter. The wait staff, while friendly, should be directed about promptness. I'm usually a big fan of Texas Roadhouse. But this location left much to be desired. We showed up before 6 on a Sunday, and were seated almost immediately. So far, so good. But then, problems cropped up. First, we didn't get silverware. Second, after ordering, it took nearly an hour to get the food -- the salad, not even the main course. Not sure why, since it wasn't especially busy. Third, despite ordering my sirloin medium, it was just shy of well done. While the manager kindly offered a replacement steak, I didn't want to wait any longer. So, I ate what I received, which was fine; for a well done steak; and the manager took $10 off the bill. Nice gesture, which earns the third star. Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that half of the steak fries were soggy with steak juices. Still edible, but far from ideal. read more

Visiting from out of town with my service animal & Rob personally made sure that my experience here was not a good one. We sat down about to order when i ask, For the price of a piece of chicken for my service dog, NOT ONE TIME did i say i was going to feed her in the restaurant. Despite this Rob still proceeded to walk to my table and "educate" me on the laws of a service animal. When i proceeded to say "i would just like to know how much a piece of chicken is by it's self with no sides" his response was "you can't feed your animal in here per ADA laws"and continued to go on about ADA laws in restaurants as if i didn't know them. This was extremely unprofessional behavior had i not worked a long day and been ready to go back to my hotel i would've taken my business elsewhere. I drove over to get some pick up here, and it was great! I love it there is a dedicated pick up window where you can go to get your food and a dedicated to pick up area as well. When I came in to get my food, everything was ready super quickly, and the staff was very kind. I was in and out in less than five minutes with the correct order, which is always appreciated! Overall I would come back because there is good service and good food. I ordered chicken tenders and steak. Both were cooked perfectly and to the temperature that I wanted. I love Texas Roadhouse (I mean..hello..the rolls). Their carry out had been a weekly thing for us for the past few months due to covid and not wanting to eat indoors. But I'm done ordering from them. Only about 15% of the time do they get our order right. They've forgotten the bread (the extra that we put for) numerous times. They've forgotten sides and salad dresses too. I've called a few times but only to have to wait 15 minutes to talk to someone who can even give me a refund or a coupon for a free appetizer the next time. When I go to pick up, it's become a routine for me to check every single thing in the car and I'm glad I do because I've had to go back to get what was missing a few times. However if anyone else picks it up, they don't always check (because they are trusting the staff to do their jobs). I'm not one of those crappy people who don't tip for take out either. Our server, Tiara was wonderful! If this review was just about her it'd be 5 stars! Refills of drinks & bread were plentiful, attentive without being pushy or hovering. Unfortunately I feel I must review the entire dining experience. We ordered an All American burger MEDIUM WELL (so a hint of pink). What we received was full pink center. You could actually see pink from the top of the burger! The cheese was barely melted; in fact I was able to separate the two slices quite successfully to center them better. The side of corn was the best part of the meal. We know that restaurants are having a hard time finding help but you need to train the help you do have much better than this. The kitchen should have done it correctly in the first place but their expo also failed to notice the error. A manager stopped by to ask how things were & when told the burger wasn't right did NOTHING (not even an apology). My husband (who did gag his half down because he was super hungry) tried being gracious so as not to be one of those guests who complains about everything & to not get the server into any trouble. We weren't necessarily expecting them to comp anything but the manager could have at the VERY LEAST given us a half-hearted apology. I'm questioning if our comments even made it to the kitchen in the form of a verbal correction on how to prepare a medium well vs a medium rare burger. Upon leaving we made sure to hand the server her tip instead of leaving it on the table & expressed our gratitude for her wonderful service which was the only high point on this visit. Horrible service! Came for an annual birthday dinner and asked for a larger both and was sat a a kids table! I'll never be back!

Despite the current medical concerns we were on our way home from a lengthy drive and needed to have dinner so we stopped at our local restaurant. We used the online waitlist option and got right in! Due to current virus issues there are no peanuts, menus or condiments at your table but they will hand you a menu and bring you anything you ask for including peanuts. The service tonight was excellent as well as the food, I had pork chops with peppercorn sauce and it was so tender and tasty although the pork was a little soggy... didn't taste grilled.. everything else was great however I don't personally prefer the lumpy mashed potatoes but more of a smooth texture.
