Overall a decent visit. Of course the rolls and cinnamon butter were so good. That never gets old for us. I'm picky about my steak, so I don't love theirs but my husband always gets it. I'm trying to find something else that I really like here. I tried the hamburger and it was solid, nothing special. It has no sauce which was slightly disappointing. I got a sweet potato on the side which seems really big for a side (not that I'm complaining). We both got Mac and cheese on the side and it was really bland. My husband gets it all the time and he said it was more bland than usual. But some salt and pepper helped a lot. Not a fan here. Front desk was kind enough, but the young women were chatting like we were not there. Food was reasonably priced but expensive when you consider the quality of food. The Texas Roadhouse in Bristol VA was a disappointment for me. I love Texas Roadhouse and in Florida where I spend 6 months ,the Texas Roadhouse is great. I called in to get on the waitlist which was 20 minutes. When I arrived at the time that would have made me seated immediately, I was told to wait for a table. I complained and was immediately seated. There were several empty tables that I saw. I ordered a small New York Strip, a baked potato and green beans. The steak was thin, tough and mainly gristle. I could hardly eat it. Definitely not a prime cut. I will definitely not go back to that Texas Roadhouse. read more

Shon was the highlight of the night .. She was funny and helpful and fast !! no sooner than I turned my back she had our mixed drinks , my water and the Dr. Pepper refilled. We enjoyed mixed drinks from the bar; the bartending team delivered creative, well-balanced slushies better tha any 711 in the country. Despite being busy, the place stayed clean and vibrant., a little dim /dark for my taste as the menus were hard to read without a cell phone light. Tables were cleared promptly, restrooms were on point and the whole energy was upbeat without being chaotic. Had dinner here the other night with my family from out of town there was a total of 7 adults, 2 kids, and 1 newborn baby, so we had a big party but not too big. We were waiting for our table and my mom went to check how much longer it would be. Turns out another big party (a party of 12) pretended to be us and stole our table. Instead of trying to correct the situation, they sat us at two different tables and this was our last time having dinner together as a family before they flew back home early in the morning. Our server Kelton was outstanding, he checked in frequently and was super friendly and easy to talk to. We visited Texas Roadhouse on a Friday around 4pm. We did beat the rush, but we're disappointed when the server tried to seat us in a booth with steak fries and other food on the floor and a booster seat still in the booth. When we looked around to see our other options we were surprised to see a couple other booths with the same dirty floors underneath. However once seated we were greeted by an enthusiastic server who did a great job. The food was very good, but we wondered if the front of the house looks like this what does the food prep area look like? A couple was seated soon after in the booth with the food on the floor. They didn't seem to notice. The business was slow at the time and we couldn't understand why no one had a broom to clean the area the entire time we were there. We showed up at the location at 6:45 and got on the waiting list 30 to 40 min wait. We get a text 7:50 our table is ready we go in the host looked lost we told her we got a text to come in it took her a min to pull up our reservations .When she finds it she tells us to wait someone will call us.. We sit for another 20 min. When we get a to the table around 8:20 . Our server tells us we are out of rolls.. My toddlers who where excited to eat where hungry. My first time at a Texas Roadhouse and I enjoyed it very much. We had a couple gift cards and wanted to use them. I've heard great things about this place and they did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and attentive. Social distancing was observed and there was a short wait. We sat in our warm truck and looked at the menu drooling and we already knew what we wanted, ordered and was done in about 30 minutes. We both had steak and shrimp. My god this food is terrible. I ordered BBQ chicken which would seemingly be a simple order but apparently not due to the quality of the chicken they are using. The chicken was like rubber to chew and inedible. I thought maybe the first bite was just a bad one since it was off the edge of the chicken until I took the 2nd bite. I had to spit it into a napkin it was so disgusting. I didn't want to complain but the waitress asked why I didn't eat it and I told her. She said they recently switched types of chicken and that they had gotten several complaints regarding this new chicken due to it being so rubbery. It was literally like chewing the fat off of a steak. I will say our waitress was wonderful and did a very good job but the food overall was extremely poor. Came here on a Monday night and got seated immediately. Started with their warm rolls and amazing butter. Ordered two large Shiner Bock beers and me and my date both ordered the 6oz sirloin off the early dinner menu. I had a Caesar salad and chili for my Sides and my date had chili and French fries. Both are good, I prefer the pickles over the onion. Their salads for me, are top three for a chain restaurant. Never shy on the toppings and the croutons are great. They were pretty busy that day but her attitude was apparent from the first interaction. Had the road kill which was really good, although the potatoes & gravy were not.
