She was friendly and asked if we would like an appetizer. We started with and onion. I had a Diet Coke and my husband had a beer. We looked over the menu and I decided on smothered chicken my husband had steak with mushroom gravy. We both had side salads and vegetables. Food was good, service was great. However they gave us one of those Ziosk tablets. I was trying to entertain my 11 month old so we started to play games on it. To my surprise we had a 2 dollar charge for "premium content" on our bill. No warning we'd be charged, took us straight to the games so I assumed it was free. Clearly it wasn't. I don't think this is directly the restaurants fault but regardless something should be done, very predatory on young kids to get more money from families. read more

I understand that the reservation process is set at Texas Roadhouse, but the lack of information provided after several days of attempting to get a table for a large birthday party is horrid. Several calls over several days just for the day to come and the hostesses at the restaurant to ignore the entire party and when a conversation is had they respond with rude snide remarks. When a portion of the party was sat the waitress attempted to explain the issue is that "the building is not build to seat large parties" but instead of telling customers that before hand they said "they were unable to say that over the phone but can do so in person" read more

We have been here so many times over the last 10 years. Today was beyond lame. You can't get a top shelf margarita in a smaller glass??? The last time I when there it was for my birthday 2 years ago. It was so loud, and we were so smushed. Food was okay, only one plate sent back. After paying for our lunch . I left a continued with life. Until I realized someone stole my card number after I paid for my lunch. Charges started to show up on my card. Now I don't realize it was only two weeks before Christmas. So I had to cancel my card deal with the bank on reverse charges that clearly weren't mine.. This place is always packed. The parking lot is full of oversized pickups. The atmosphere is Texas country with wood everywhere and animal trophies. Though I can't stand the Country atmosphere or Music, and the wait to eat can be ridiculous, the food is worth it. From the Prime Rib, to the Rib-Eye, the meat is great. We love the overloaded Mashed Potatoes in a cup and of course those biscuits. We had a family dinner here for a "Dine to Donate" evening for a Girl Scout Troop. Very appreciative that this establishment gives back to the community. This location is quite popular, so go early, take advantage of the call-ahead seating, and/or be prepared to wait for a table. (It's totally worth it IMHO.) And speaking of tables, they have some ginormous ones! The six of us (including two squirmy "littles") had plenty of space in our booth. It does get a bit loud when they have the intermittent line dancing celebrations, but we feel the kitsch adds to the atmosphere. Despite the packed house, the service was attentive. Those delicious buns with cinnamon butter as well as the flavored lemonades were refilled in a timely manner. (I don't usually run across places that give free refills of lemonade.) We started with a cactus blossom that comes with a horseradish aioli (finished the whole thing!). The three adult-sized people in our group all had the fall-off-the-bone ribs. The littles had generously-sized kid meals. They even have some tween-size options (Ranger meals). We always enjoy the variety of sides, but tend to repeat ordering our favorites: loaded mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, chili. In fact, the teenaged boy ordered TWO sides of chili. The kids mac & cheese looked like it got an upgrade from the box version since we were there last -- it was so creamy and cheesy that one of the littles was quite disappointed that she didn't order it. The server noticed her little pout and offered to bring her some! The tween ordered a Ranger chicken critters, and they were so delish! Real chicken breast, lightly battered, super juicy! Came here on a Friday night with my family. I completely forgot about the call-ahead seating option until we got into the parking lot. To my surprise, the three of us were seated immediately! Our server was very fun to interact with and anticipated our needs and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. The only "problem" encountered was I asked for mushrooms as a side and the mushrooms were put on my country fried steak instead of on the side like it normally comes. No big deal, I still ate them but I would have preferred if they weren't coated in gravy. I let my server know and they offered to replace my meal for me, but I declined, and that act showed me they care about their guests. Some immediate tips: put yourself in the wait time list online, by time you get there within your time frame, you're seated within 10 min. We commuted from St. Louis park with a waitlist time of 40 minutes and upon arrival we only had an additional 8 minute wait. The hostess were so sweet when bringing us to the table, ours in particular asked us about our day and seemed genuine. Great start to our dinner. Our server was prompt and got us drinks and suggested an appetizer which we agreed (killer ribs live up to the name). I ordered the 16oz prime rib and my partner ordered the Porterhouse. Our food came out in a timely manner and spaced out well between the appetizer. I had wanted my prime rib med-rare and it arrived a solid medium. It was lightly seasoned and a little dry but wasn't unsatisfying. My spouses porterhouse was a perfect medium and included a smothering of onions and mushrooms. He had no complaints and neither did the pup when we brought the bone home for his enjoyment. Overall the place was packed but not unpleasant, the server was attentive but not overbearing. It has been awhile since I've stopped by. This place is always packed. So we did the online waiting list in advance and the wait was about an hour and a half. Got there and waited for bit more. Place is still packed as I remembered. You can smell the fresh dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter as they bake it fresh there and snake near the front entrance. Noise level was average to loud. Our server was Will and he was pretty awesome. Once seated, we got our dinner rolls and drinks first. Quite a selection of meats and various items. There's also a bucket of complementary peanuts. Ordered the filet medallions with portabello sauce and loaded baked potato and Mac n cheese sides. There was a little overkill on the portobello sauce on the meat. We had a really good experience at this location. We got on the waitlist at home - a 1hr 10min - 1hr 20min wait. We left to head for the restaurant after aboit an hour. We waited another 30+ minutes after arriving and honestly were not even made about it. The restaurant has a really good system for managing the waitlist and moving customers through their wait in an organized, efficient manner. The place was BUSY...our server Cameron told us that the waitlist had finally gotten below 100 by the time we were seated. He said it had been over 170 earlier in the evening! All staff we dealt with were clearly busy, but still polite, friendly, and patient. From our host who sat us, making easy conversation on the way, to our server, to the manager who took the time to chat with us and answer my questions, to the food runners and bussers. Our food was great. We were in the mood for steak and didn't feel like driving into the city so local TR it was. I happened to be at Costco nearby and seeing the Texas Roadhouse sign made me mention wanting their rolls to a friend. The steak was spectacular, and paired well with the mushrooms and gravy. Though it didn't blow me away, I liked the gravy, but next time ill probably return to topping my cut with cheese, onions, and mushrooms. The sweet potato was pretty good and came with brown sugar. Finally, the chili was very hearty, and had enough beans and meat to compete with the best of 'em. They also topped it with cheese and onions, and I am ALL about the toppings!
