Last time I was here I ordered beef tips with mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream. The plate arrived with no sour cream, and also the presentation was just not there, the plate had splatters all over. My partner ordered beef tips with mashed potatoes with double sour cream and no butter, the plate arrived with butter and no sour cream. Mistakes happen, no big deal, we just asked for a side of sour cream, and they brought a side of butter and sour cream mixed in together. On one of my previous visits I ordered full slab of ribs, and as a frequent visitor I can tell the difference between full and half slab. I got half slab, it was clear as day. Pointed that out to the waitress and she proceeded to argue with me instead of making it right, got me a manager, and the manager tried to talk me down and at the end gave me a side of ribs to make up for it as a huge exception. Came on a Friday evening with a party of 3. There was some parking available in the packed parking lot. I shared with my fiancé a 16 ounce ribeye medium rare and got it topped with mushrooms with mashed potato and green beans and two additional sides of sweet potato and green beans. We went last night (4-22) for my cousins' birthday dinner and included a friend that had never been. Called ahead and joined the waitlist and were seated promptly once arrived. She came back, sat drinks down and quickly said I will be right back (we didn't get a chance to say anything) several minutes passed before she returned and then she asked if she could take our order and I said, "well we would still like appetizers'' she took appetizer order and then asked if we ready with main orders, we had chosen so we went ahead and ordered, however we ordered our appetizers 1st!! From the beginning she gave off a "hurry vibe" (when we had barely sat down, and she asked for drink and appetizer, and we hadn't even reached over to grab menu) needless to say salads and meals came out and when we asked about appetizers, she stated she had checked and they were coming. I had the pork ribs - full rack- baked potato and a side of Caesar salad and ordered a small hurricane margarita. Everything was excellent and the Heinz 57 sauce for dipping (on table) was delicious. Worst meal and customer service I've experienced. Ordered 2 14oz ribeyes medium rare which were each priced at $25.49. Our meal took about 45 minutes to arrive and both were overcooked. We only sent one of the two back because it was cooked well done. Had to send it back so the could "quickly get a replacement out". After awaiting another 30 minutes, we cancelled the steak because we hadn't received it and were told they would take it off the bill. When we got the bill, they had only subtracted $16. Had to request a manager to come who agreed it was incorrect and she would fix it. She came back and said it was correct because the other manager said the steak was $16 and the side of fries was $11, so they only subtracted the $16. I asked to speak to the other manager and expressed that we had been her 2 hours, had a horrible experience on what was supposed to be a special night and the least she could do was take off the meal. She came back saying it was her fault because the steak was $18 so she removed an additional 2 dollars. I told her that I thought the right thing to do would be to remove the entire meal so she finally did. But, very unprofessional, took about 45 minutes to get it corrected and the overall experience was awful. Other steaks were dry, hard, and flavorless. Will not come back to this location. read more

Had a meal here last evening with my grown kids. This place is loud, crowded and dirty. The hostess was eating a roll as she spoke to us and to the other staff. My meal and my daughter in law's meal was mixed up. The waitress was very curt and only checked in once. But, the worst part was that every bit of our meals was terribly over salted. For a chain steakhouse, this one here in North Durham does a pretty great job. It is always busy and the staff here are continuously hustling and bustling to keep up with everyone and get them served, but we never feel rushed AND they check often to make sure everything is ok and if we need anything. There are a lot of servers, table cleaners and other staff working at the same time, but they somehow coordinate very well with each other and are actually quite impressive in doing so. I don't think it's a secret that the complimentary, fresh baked bread and cinnamon sugar are THE BEST!!! We always order the ribeye and I love the rice, my husband loves the chili. We did seating online because they looked pretty busy. They were but we went about 6 pm and found out a few servers had to go over to wake forest restaurant to help out that night. We got seated shortly after 6:30 and they seated us and gave us the rolls with butter which ate my favorite I ate 2 and most of the butter too. We both ordered a beer and we both ordered the Dallas filet 8 oz I got mine with green beans and seasonal vegetables without the lemon pepper. Hubs ordered his with green beans and a loaded sweet potato which looked amazing! The only complaint we both had were the green beans were not edible because they were way too salty! This is one of my husband's favorite place to have a great steak & yeast rolls. The greeter was cordial- we were seated promptly. Our server name Amy was very bubbly cheerful & efficient. Our hot rolls and eating utensils brought out as soon as we was seated. Yummy & delicious with the whipped honey butter. My ribeye steak needed just a little tweaking but it was seasoned perfectly and was quite delicious- a fresh house salad and hot baked potato accompanied my entree. My husband had the 20ounce bone in ribeye with the same sides - equally delicious- and for a birthday celebration we shared a slice of strawberry cheesecake- a great meal & great service. Low key atmosphere- just right - As we were leaving - outside -a young man & young lady was checking people inside. These two young people was so very kind and helpful- even helping me to my car safely.I enjoyed my upbeat conversation as they inquired if we enjoyed our meal! We came to eat and were quickly sat in the bar area... while walking by the kitchen on the way to the table, the kitchen was noted to be filthy! And to make it worse, all of the employees are just standing around! I'm thinking somebody grab a broom, a mop, a rag, something! As we were sat at our table and looking over the menu, we were greeted by a roach... just crawling on the ledge of the table! I immediately yelled for a staff member walking by.... Haven't been here in years and years and back then it was pretty good for a chain steakhouse. We came by recently and had a pretty disappointing experience. We ordered a simple strip steak with potatoes. My spouse's steak was cooked to order and her mashed potatoes were just ok. My steak was overcooked and the loaded baked potato was undercooked, hard in many places, and barely warm. The bacon it was topped with was very overcooked. Our salads were overall good and the rolls very tasty. I did tell the waitress about my steak and she offered a redo, but I was already about a third into it. I also told the manager about the dinner overall and she offered a redo too, but by that time I was nearly done. She did say she'd mention it to the kitchen. When we left our table to head to the front door the first area we had to walk through was covered with bits of food all over the floor that we had to dodge. It just seems like things have gone downhill here. I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon. read more

We visited recently when dropping our niece off for college -- Duke University, on January 9 2021. The entire experience was marginal and a thumbs-down! They had limited beers on the menu and the food/appetizers was okay to mediocre. Certainly, nothing to rave about. Our steaks, the main reason we came here, all (4) except one were completely under-cooked! We ordered medium-well and they came to us medium-rare to fleshy-raw around the bone. Great cuts of steak waisted and inedible. The boneless wings looked like nuggets for a kid's meal (see pics) and the drinks tasted like "Kool-aid!' The only thing that saved our meals was the ribs and grilled shrimp appetizers. This was my first time dining here and lets just say I was not impressed. On top of all that.....Our server was nice, but seemed very unorganized and perhaps new to the staff. He kept forgetting items and often times took forever to return to the table with our orders/requests for stuff. At the end of our meal we ordered desserts "to go" to take back to the hotel. Why did it take almost 20 minutes to receive ready-made cheesecakes and apple pie slices!??? We had to flag our server down to inquire about it several times....at one time, this "fool" actually had the nerve to say..."Oh! I didn't forget your order. THEY are baking and making them as we speak." Now, really!??? What kind of idiot you take me for or would think that we will believe you are baking cheesecakes and apple pies ---in a chain restaurant ---at your peak dining hours at that? This response was totally unacceptable. Not to mentioned the so called "being baked desserts" finally came to us 20 minutes later ---FROZEN!! So clearly nothing was being baked during that time. LOL! At this point, the manager was requested and she did apologize for all the kitchen and server gross mistakes. The server did not apologize for anything...but it's all good...because his tip showed our appreciation! The manager offered to correct the matter with free dinner coupons and gift card for the next visit.....which I will politely use....just not at this location! Another note of caution, it was mad crowded in this place! Considering the layout of the tables and booths, folks were sitting back to back from each other and social distancing was not in practice. I am not sure what the North Carolina state COVID-19 guidelines are for restaurant capacity but this place was most definitely at 95% or above where we were all sitting. There was a bar packed with folks all sitting next to each other as well; some wearing no masks.....AND!!!....there was a line of folks still waiting outside the door and in cars to get in. Being from the DC area....it is not a game. Restaurants are still not even seating folks at most locations......and/or practice limited capacity or just take out only! The whole experience was mediocre and struck me as very mismanaged at this restaurant! When it comes to a "steak-house chain"....believe me, I don't expect much or a "Ruth Chris" dining experience but it needs to be better than this...that's for sure. Between the under-cooked food handling and COVID mismanagement.....a place like this could have you in the hospital for both....or at minimum at home with the "bubble-guts and runs" to say the least. I'll certainly stick with good ol' Outback, for me, when it comes to a steakhouse chain restaurant! The food and service were excellent, but they made a mistake on my wife's order. She had ordered a filet mignon, but instead, she got a 6 oz sirloin. By the time her steak came out, I was done eating, and she filled up on bread and salad. We asked for a to go box so we could leave. The manager brought out the correct steak and only apologized. He should had noticed that I was done eating and would have to wait for her to eat the meal when we should have eaten at the same time. The bread rolls are phenomenal, and are hot on arrival. This was the highlight of our meal! 2. Food portions are large relative with very fair pricing. 3.
