    Came by for a dinner after driving from ATL. My experience wasn't the best. I believe the place was short staffed but that wasn't communicated. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated but there was no host or anyone at the front. We decided then to seat ourselves at the bar instead of going somewhere else. The Bartender was very kind and made up for our initial impression but was obviously overextended. She tried her best to keep up with the drink orders and serving guest in the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The rest of the restaurant was quiet. No music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were other guests drinking and maybe one or two servers. Food was okay as well. Nothing really stood out. We ordered the potato skins, pasta primavera, New York strip, and a couple of cocktails. It served the purpose we set out for. Overall this just seemed like a bad night for the restaurant and not how it normally operates. I would try again another time to see if there is a difference.

    Fourth time I've been there this year. And it was a disappointment. Usually we get ribs, which are absolutely perfect. This last visit we got steaks. A ribeye and a sirloin. Both were fair. Our server was also the bartender and was very slow to deal with us. Plus, got the order slightly wrong, but not worth returning the food. The ribs are so good that we will go back but a real shame about the steaks. They should be able to do better than that. My sirloin was not tender nor flavorful and a little overcooked.

    [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place needs some remodeling inside, feels very dated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was pretty good, probably not going to blow your mind though. Ribs were very saucy. Service was excellent. Is definitely a convenient place if you're staying in the attached hotel.

    Went to this restaurant for an anniversary dinner. Ordered the steak medallions. And hubby ordered the steak medallions and half a rack of baby back ribs. The steak medallions was more on the tough side with little flavor . The baby back ribs had no flavor just a lot of sauce. The best thing was the green beans and the mashed potatoes that came with the meal. We did enjoy the drinks from the bar. I had a piña colada and my husband had an old-fashioned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the ambience was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I give it three stars because of the flavor and toughness of the meat. I will probably not come back to the establishment because of those reasons . It's overpriced for what we received.

    This chain restaurant is tucked away in the Delta Hotel in RTP. Staying in the hotel, it fit the bill for us for dinner. We were given a comfy booth and had very friendly service, good drinks and food and prices were surprisingly not as high as we thought they might be since prices weren't on the online menu. Husband had a burger which he very much liked. I had the shrimp scampi which was good, but very plain. Would have loved some spinach or something like that in it. The amazing part was the brownie sundae. I'm not a brownie or a sundae person, but let me tell you, it's a killer dessert!

    The food was great, the service was subpar (our waitress was very inattentive), and the ambiance is very bright and inviting (a welcomed change from the heavily dimmed restaurants). It is a nice and casual family friendly restaurant. They accept reservations as well, which I would highly recommend if you have a large party. We enjoyed the ribs (falling off the bone!), green beans, and fries, and chicken alfredo florentine. The food arrived at the perfect temp and everything tasted so fresh. We ordered the brownie bites with Oreo ice cream to go and it was the perfect dessert to end the night. This location is attached to a Marriott hotel so there is plenty of parking. I would definitely return to try their bbq trio, nashville hot chicken sandwich, or any of their delicious looking cocktails. They have a full bar area open for seating as well. Cons: They do not list their non alcoholic beverages, sides, nor do they have a kids menu on the main menu (not sure if they have one at all). We wanted something other than sweet tea (lemonade maybe) but that is all they had.

    Was staying in the hotel upstairs and ordered fried mozzarella sticks and a side of Mac and cheese for takeout. I tried calling a few times but wasn't able to get through on the phone so I ended up heading downstairs to order in person. Wait was about 20 minutes for takeout. Pretty average (no cheese pulls here) but definitely hit the spot.

    RTP is a tough place to find places for lunch and dinner sit down. My friend asked me to lunch at TR and I remember this place for PacNW. We had great food and service at lunch. Lunch portion nice chicken with Chicken Alfredo Florentine was so tasty! So good I came back with my husband for dinner! Much busier still great service, drinks and food. It's a bit bright lighting to set a more romantic mood but still really great. It definitely a chain but I appreciate an alternative steak, seafood and chicken place in RTP!     Discovered Tony Romas was in Durham. Last time I ate at one was in Las Vegas years ago. I had to try this one. I thought the ribs were good, good flavor, no fatty bits, but weren't exactly fall-off-the-bone. The salad was very good. My brother-in-law got a Bloody Mary which he said was very good. The decor is very modern, not like the old Vegas restaurant. I think this is a cool addition to the area and will definitely go back and try again. I recommend making reservations.

Having been huge fans of North Carolina style BBQ, we were not disappointed.My wife and daughter enjoyed the Pork Plate. By for me, I went with the two meat combo with Pulled pork and brisket. The pulled pork was spot on. It was perfectly smoked and almost melted in my mouth. With a touch of spicy vinegar sauce, I was gone to Carolina in my mind for the rest of the day. The brisket might have been some of the best I've ever had. It had a nice fat layer and was also "melt in your mouth" and juicy. The brisket didn't need any sauce at all. It was that good. The hushpuppies were the star at the table. My family considers themselves to be connoisseurs of hush puppies, and these were ranked in the top five. A respectable ranking from such a discriminating hushpuppy panel. The sides we sampled included collard greens, mac and cheese and BBQ beans. The collards and Mac and cheese were out of this world. I should have ordered a double serving of the collards. However, the beans were a huge disappointment. They were more like a bowl of sub-par chili than BBQ beans. If we return, they will not be selected. A great BBQ spot when you are in Durham. Highly recommend you stop by, if only to taste the brisket!

I ordered the chicken n biscuits, my husband got the country hamburger steak plate, my BiL got wings, and my SiL got the crabcakes. We also orders charred jalapeno & sweet corn hushpuppies and frickles as an appetizer. I was VERY excited about my food. Y'all...the only thing that impressed me were the Frickles. Everything else was distinctly underwhelming. I also ordered Blackberry Betta Have My Money which was not that great. My SiL ordered a espresso martini that they said didn't come from a mix but she said it tasted like it was. The bathrooms were very clean. The decor and the vibe were great. Cute even. We finally had time to order the Dampf Feast. OMG, This puts bbq I've had in the motherland of bbq, Texas, in second place! Dampf has earned that Michelin star. The beef rib is lean yet tender and flavorful. Melt in your mouth but without the squishy fat in between the meat. It was cooked and rendered to perfection. The rub is delicious. The pork ribs are my new favorite! IF I could somehow marry them with the (and don't hate me for saying this) P.F.Changs Korean BBQ rib sauce, I'd never eat anything else ever again. The pork ribs had a ever so slightly sweet and tangy rub on them. Very tender, hardly any fat so again, a perfect cook and render. The brisket was a tad salty for my preference but oh my, it was cooked to utter perfection. It was melt in your mouth moist and so flavorful. The turkey was very flavorful and will make for excellent sandwiches tomorrow. It was moist, which for turkey, is a testament to their skill. The camera wasn't even a thought. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: I'm leaving this review purely based on one interaction and the complete and utter lack of respect or appreciation for the people who decide to support their business. We like Texas bbq. So much so that we order regularly from Terry Black's Barbecue in Texas so when someone on Next Door suggested dampf, we decided to try it. Initially we drove past it because it's a very non descript location but it looked promising being on the property of a farm. They serve out of a food truck so the line forms outside, not a big deal but this day was rather chilly, still, for Texas styled ribs, it's worth the cold. Because we have experience with a Texas styled ribs restaurant (brick and mortar) in PA that would often sell out, we checked the menu for anything crossed out. We checked for any notices indicating items unavailable. There were no such notices and nothing on the menu was crossed out. We got in line and waited. Ten minutes, then twenty and the line barely moved and most of that was due to patrons ahead of us in the line deciding to leave. After an hour, it just over that, someone came and advised that they've been sold out of beef ribs, pork ribs and brisket for 2 hours. Wow. Way to show respect for our time. Why not cross out those menu items? Even after that announcement, they didn't update their menu. I just don't think I can hand over my money to a business that doesn't respect my time or business. EDIT: I received a reply from Dampf and appreciate the courtesy of that reply. We will give them a try, perhaps using the online ordering to be certain we don't show up when something has been sold out.
