This place BITES! Unless your idea of a roadhouse is being treated as if you were part of a herd of cattle, find someplace else to go. There is zero originality with this chain restaurant. There is zero good food. The servers are super chipper but that's just the Stockholm Syndrome from having to wear a t-shirt that says "I love me job" on the back. God dammit, somewhere there's a playbook for middle-of-the-road fast-casual restaurants that got out into the wild and the owners of this craphouse got a hold of it, played fill-in-the-blanks with the names of the burger, the chicken salad and the bloomin' onion. But the founders of this place must have been deep into a case of whiskey when they got to the section on quality, 'cause they totally skipped over that in the business plan. Save yourself the indignity of being herded into your booth and through choking down horrible food and find a quality privately-owned restaurant or any other chain restaurant. MIRANDA was such a sweetheart! Today was my first time going to Texas Roadhouse. Miranda was by far the best server I have ever came across. She was attentive and not overbearing. Everyone there looks to genuinely be happy with their job. The manager was there walking around making sure everything was going well. I truly appreciated the service tonight and they can guarantee I will be returning. The Rattlesnake bites were amazing for an appetizer and the burger was delicious!! The food is pretty good. The atmosphere is fun. They have extra shots you can add to your drink which is always good. They don't have many options on the menu for people who are not big meat eaters which kind of sucks. But other than that pretty average meal read more

Been coming here for years. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor. They don't take reservations but you can call ahead. If I'm in a hurry, I order it to go. Can I mention they have the best to go staff! The order is always right, and they always throw in rolls. Though they are known for their steaks, I have yet to order one! I try to avoid red meat (I know, why come to a steakhouse?) I'll tell you why. The food is amazing! I order either the BBQ chicken, (better than chicken you grill at home,) the grilled salmon, or the ribs. Sometimes I go for the BBQ chicken and ribs combo. Seriously the best food! Came here for my husband's birthday during quarantine. They were extremely clean and very conscious of where they sat patrons. Ryan was our server and was absolutely exceptional! He remembered everything that we requested even though they were very special requests; and was super friendly throughout the entire experience. Even if quarantine shuts restaurants down in the future we will be back for more if they open up and outside service area. This review is based upon only one visit, which of course is always subject to change. However, based upon my 3 star rating we won't be back in the near future unless I am outvoted or have a hankering for a steak and potato. Four of us stopped in here last night, the day after Christmas. We were shocked at the crowds and wait at 4:45pm and it appeared worse when we left. We were told the wait time would be about 50 minutes, but we actually got seated in about 40 - so that was nice. I ordered the 16 ounce sirloin (medium rare), with a side of corn and a baked potato. My drink of choice was iced tea. The wife ordered the sirloin tip plate with a side of rice and sauteed mushrooms. The young couple with us shared / split a full rack of baby back ribs, mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat products were ALL very tasty and cooked to order! My steak looked like it weighed in at 16 ounces and I took some of it home, as I probably ate to many pieces of complimentary bread rolls and peanuts ........... As for the side dishes, that's where in went south (no pun intended) for all of us. The baked potatoes were nothing special, but doable. As for the green beans and corn - straight out of large can. I cannot be convinced otherwise. If they did not come from a can, then they were poorly cooked (boiled). They had little flavor and the green beans were too soft. I would not order them again, should we / when we return. As for the service - our waitress was very good, except we never received a refill (nor were asked) on the two iced teas. I realize it was busy, so I won't bag on that issue too much. The other couple had Margaritas and they liked those. read more

If you want steak make sure you come here. This place was loud and inviting on a Saturday night. The steaks were cooked to the specified done-ness as requested and super flavorful. Although a little perplexed how it was not piping hot when it got to the table. The complimentry hot buns were sinful with a side of cinnamon butter, do yourself and ask for seconds. The blooming onion was packed with flavor in the breading and crispy to the very last bite. I wanted to stop snacking on this to save room for my entree but couldn't, it was so addictive and not over salty. The fried pickles as a southern staple was also a greatly executed appetizer. And as we waited for our food the endless buckets of peanuts kept us chatting and busy all the while giggling and chucking the peanut shells onto the floor. I was ordered the bone in ribeye and as mentioned before it was grilled to the requested doneness and very flavorful. I dip ketchup on my steak and some might frown upon it, I was happy this casual atmosphere let me eat my steak without any condescending stares. Not ready for prime time. Have eaten at a least a dozen different TRH all across the country. Frequently dined at the Menifee location with great food and great service. Roadkill !! Wait was long but acceptable, food was good, but service was lacking. Ordered two salads, one arrived but neither the waitress or the other salad could be found. Entrees showed up before my salad. Manager asked what she could do for me. I told her I just wanted to eat my meal while it was hot and I would talk with her later. Never saw her again and only saw waitress again when the bill came. For birthday peeps, the employees will put you on a saddle and make you swing around a towel and shout something haha. It was funny and different. I love this place. We've been here three times already and that's just in the last week. Their steak is out of this world and it's cooked to perfection. Every time we come here, I'm amazed at how nice and polite the staff are even though they are super busy. The girls been went as far as teaching my daughter how to do the little dance. She was awestruck. We had the 16oz steak with onions and potato and I had corn. Everything was so yummy and tasted really fresh. Nothing beats the rolls and cinnamon butter and the cactus blossom is a must. They found out it was our anniversary and wanted me to saddle up. No way! My dress was wayyy to short so my hubby did it and we had such a laugh. The prices are really good for the amount of food. The atmosphere is electric and the staff are super nice. We've been coming to this Texas roadhouse for several year, mainly in Texas where our home is but we've been to this location a few times. Today, when we showed up they couldn't find our call ahead number so we had to reput in our name. I was frustrated but kept to myself.... Jackie the girl who was running check in had THE WORST attitude ever towards my husband. I was so put off by it. She took down my husband's name and then turned towards me and asked for my name. I asked why did she need to know, she said due to cdc guidelines she needs it. Thought that was weird because literally the day before when we ate inside the lady didn't ask for my name and my husband's name. She then said "I don't care give me your name or you're not dining in" such horrible customer service. I'm truly shocked they hired someone like this. Just just recently ate there on the 19th past Saturday, it was like an organized chaos with so many people outside waiting so many people inside waiting. We called in for a reservation 1 1/2 hours in advance still we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. upon sitting down with our party a for telling them we had two more to show and one child peace or set way in the corner in the small table. The service for this night was very slow and even drinks we were served with no straws oh, very poor service. Although my version on your menu called the roadside kill was very good the service at night was poor and chaotic , with the end Bill well over $200 we felt underserved and overpaid bill. read more

You feel like you're walking into a hillbilly paradise with taxidermy game heads hanging from the walls, country music blasting and a giant neon Budweiser sign as you walk in. It was quite fun. The wait staffed worked as a cohesive team to make sure we had bread, water refills and our food was bused out right away. Our waitress Kalani was very well trained, knew the menu back and forward, had a great attitude and seemed to genuinely like her job. The food was an outstanding value. We ordered an appetizer, a burger and a steak entree for under $35. It was truly a bargain. I was surprised how inexpensive it was when she dropped the check. The food was ok. The rolls were a little chewy like they may have been under the lap just a bit too long. The burger had a house made sesame bun but it was toasted to a crisp and broke into a million piece when you took a bite almost like a cracker. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare as I ordered but was a little on the salty side and the baked potato was very salty as well. The salty steak and the salty potato side by side made me quite thirsty. We arrived around 9:15p and then closed at 10:00p so they were busy cleaning up. There was a few areas of the restaurant that had big piles of swept up peanut shells with dirty napkins and some of the booths seats were turned upside down. I have fond memories of the late nineties - when inexpensive (but delicious) steaks, peanut-covered floors, and yeasty breads were easily found at any one of several North County strip malls. The "Original" Roadhouse Grill in Solana Beach and Dalton's in San Marcos were family mainstays - definitely among my parent's top ten favorites (These were the days before San Franciscans and Seattle transplants started showing up and messing with San Diego food culture... and politics. How I sometimes long for the old days...) And then they folded, making way for a community bank and a Hooters, and a cloud of peanut-less darkness settled on North County. And then this place showed up. I had never heard of Texas Roadhouse. But upon perusing its menu it became clear that a rebirth was underway - granted, a lot further away than we used to dine, but still close enough that we couldn't resist. It rests in a massive strip mall on the south end of Oceanside, surrounded by representatives of pretty much every major chain casual restaurant, of which this is one as well - albeit one new to California. Arriving at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night, we were shocked to discover that a 90 minute wait had already grown up outside. The crowd was diverse - predominantly military, more than a few Texas transplants, dating couples of all ages and huge families. Evidently I live under a rock, because this place is ungodly popular. Turned out the wait was closer to two hours by the time our name was called but once inside the foyer, lorded over by a massive Moose mount (Moose in Texas? Okay...) and lit by old fashioned incadescent monofilament bulbs, it was apparent that the place runs like a well-oiled machine. Whisked away to a table set before a large mural of a gun-toting solider driving a humvee loaded with a few camo-bikini clad women holding onto the back, while bass mounts and autographed caricatures of NASCAR legends are scattered across the room, this restaurant is, in microcosm, a caricature of the intensely patriotic and redneck regions from which it hails - something that settles right into our county's pro-American, military heritage. Even if it is a little more brash than usual. Although the atmosphere is loud as can be, out waitress was well spoken and easily heard, and incredibly attentive. Water glasses were forever filled, and lemonades forever refilled. For a new establishment, the service was impressively polished - the only misstep being our waitress not knowing that they were out of Prime Rib before my brother ordered it. Everything else came out as ordered however. Which brings us to the food. Serving sizes are massive. New York Steaks and Ribeyes come out with a choice of two sides. Actually three, since our waitress suggested to add mushrooms as a "sauce" instead of a side so we can get two other sides as well. Wow! Can't remember the last time I had a waitress who was so on top of things. As far as food, first thing's first - the yeast rolls with cinnamon butter have been hailed by other Yelpers below me and are every bit as good as they say. The steaks themselves were tender, perfectly grilled to medium rare, and an impressive value at only twenty bucks in spite of being a slab the size of your face. Steak fries are no more remarkable than Red Robin's, but the side caesar was more like a full size salad - rich and aromatic. My brother got a side of ribs(!) with his steak and they were likewise perfectly smoked and flavorful... I'll take these over the (sometimes) overcharred Phil's BBQ stuff any day. Pulled pork was similarly good, if the sauce itself lacked finesse. Suffice to say, our entire family of 5 ate to the point of bursting for less than 100 bucks (before tip). Very very impressive. And very very good. My only nitpicks fall to the atmosphere (which is super loud - can't hear myself think, and it's a tad obnoxious) and the food might sometimes seem uninspired even if the portions are huge. But this isn't Island Prime, and I like it that way. If you know what you're getting into - namely, family style, inexpensive, high quality chain dining - you won't be disappointed. Just get here early and even then be prepared to wait. read more

GREAT FOOD AND THE BEST DINNER ROLLS EVER!!! I love Texas Roadhouse. The restaurant doesn't open until 4pm because they make EVERYTHING fresh during the mornings including cutting and prepping the meat, veggies, and side dishes. The dinner rolls, which are prepared daily, are buttery soft, melt in your mouth scrumptious with or without the honey butter. Every year for thanksgiving we order four dozen dinner rolls and every year they are GONE but I always hide some for me for the next day:-) The food is seasoned just right, meat is tender and tasty, crispy vegetables, and creamy sides. The servers are friendly, professional and attentive. Sometimes they also break into song and dance which just tickles me pink!! My only issue is the restaurant is not designed so that large parties can sit together. We have to split our party and sit at separate booths, which is a bummer, other than this, Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite places to eat!! read more

Decor: Random Staff: Very friendly our waitress was excellent and I wish I could give her five stars. Food: The food was horrible, I got the chicken fried chicken and it tasted like rubber. The breading was covered in oil still and my mash potatoes were straight out of a packet. Our appetizer of cheese fries came out looking cheap and gross, it was covered in oil and the cheese fell right off. My husband had ribs that were okay but his mac and cheese was straight from a Kraft mac and cheese box. Picture in this post. Overall, the food needs a ton of work and if this is what they think is southern food they are completely wrong. That being said, Hubby & I went on a Tuesday night about 6 & although it was pretty crowded, there was zero wait time & we were seated immediately. The food was ok. Ribeye steak: cooked to perfection Only complaint, a little on the "thin " side Rolls were.....good.....but I don't know...everyone on this site says they are to die for...we love bread/rolls/ butter. These were good not great My biggest disappointment was I ordered a baked sweet potato. How can I put this...the potato was done/it wasnt hard or under cooked....yet was "dry"...kind of tasteless too.
