Frequent Texas Roadhouse patron around the country and usually, they're consistently good (service and food). Unfortunately I had a very disappointing visit at this one. Our server was great, food was ok. But the check in with the host and lack of management was incredibly off. We used the helpful online waitlist and when told by text that we could check in, we were told to stand "over there" and someone will seat us. This is standard TR process - so fine, we did. But then we waited and waited and waited. We watched everyone around us get seated including people who appeared to walk in after we were "began standing over there". We estimated to have waited an extra 15 min in the corner while others were promptly seated. When we thought maybe they forgot about us, we went up the hostess stand and the host spoke to us like we were children and didn't know how to follow instructions. No apology but rather, "your table isn't ready yet, just wait over there and we'll let you know when it's ready." When the table was finally ready, we were the only ones that didn't get the bread upon seating (they ran out). We finally got the bread when our dinner meals arrived. No apology no thank you for your patience. Normally management comes around to check on how things were going. Not at this location, apparently. It looked like management was busy watching the football game on the TV, even though the restaurant was packed. So, make a note to self, the Pooler TR does things their own way and maybe pass on by next time you are in the area and want some TR. read more

The food was bought out cold after a long wait. The salad and bread was very good. The sweet potato was loaded but was also cold. The establishment was very busy! We're military and just came back from overseas. I forgot how much I love Texas roadhouse this place was great. Service was attentive and great. What a disappointmen! I am from New Hampshire and eat at the Roadhouse quite often. This experience makes me glad it was not my first roadhou because I would never go back. The food was sooooo bad. The potato skins were coated in either garlic powder or onion powder, could not finish them. My husband ordered the ribs they were cold and dry. He did not finish them. I ordered the beef tips with mashed and green beans. The only thing that was hot was the green beans. The beef was fatty and the mashed was covered in un melted cheese, because the mashed was cold. The woman in the red shirt practically threw peanuts at us because I had the gall to say wee did not have any and the waitress keep looking at me like I could just guess what she needed from me. She also never delivered any of our food. Which I'm sure is why it was cold. Very disappointed after being on the road for 15 hours. We paid the bill and left. read more

Ordered a medium filet which came extremely well done/obviously burnt without needing to cut into it. As the waitress set it down, she knew it was burnt and said she'd get the manager to take care of it and the manager would bring another one out. Not a big deal. By the time the manager brought the second one twenty minutes later, the rest of the table were done eating/right at being done. She looked at the burnt filet and said, "It's over cooked again" and asked if I wanted them to cook another. I said no as everyone else was requesting their checks and said I'll take a to go box for it also. In reality, that should've been removed from the bill or discounted. That's crappy service bringing it out knowing it was burnt, twice! and then charging full price for it. The "manager" (this is why it is in quotes) literally yells at us that she only has one employee that can clean off tables and to give her a break, she's doing the best she can. No apology or anything. So here I sit refusing to eat because I'm not giving this place my money (sadly one person in our party wants to stay, the rest are mad and want to leave). Now we are all sitting here ticked off with our afternoon ruined. Completely disgusting in here and the most rude people I've dealt with in years. And as a retired police officer that's saying a lot. We came here for the perfect dinner experience with delicious food and great service and that is what we got! We were greeted as soon as we walked and were told to wait just a second we would be seated shortly. The hostess sat us down and brought rolls with her which was much appreciated! The rolls were warm and so soft! The cinnamon butter was just delicious! Our waitress was nice and attentive. Once we were done with our first basket of rolls, she brought out another! I had also asked for peanuts and she brought me a bag of those! We decided to both have an 8 oz sirloin steak and with that chose two sides. Came in the other night and woah were we glad we lucked in to a spot at the bar! The wait for a table was quite long. However at the bar we only waited about 5 min. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. My husband griped about how long our drive was, so she made sure to keep the beers coming for him! (I was DD for dinner). Was disappointed there was no non-alcoholic wine or mocktails, but soda water got the job done. My husband had a steak, loaded baked potato, and ceasar salad for dinner. He enjoyed all of it. I got the herb crusted chicken and it was delicious. I have food allergies so the bar tender had to look in to the marinade ingredients, and it was safe for me! If you have been to Texas Roadhouse in the past then you know what to expect. The steaks are good, all of the other foods are consistent, the prices are fair , but service varies for the location. We went to the TR in Pooler, Ga at the large Tanger Mall off I 95. We were there at 5 pm earlier than the other dinner crowd, but we still had a 45 minute wait on Friday night. Despite the wait we were seated and the server arrived reasonably soon. At least 3 of our group of 5 ordered the prime rib, and immediately the waitress said, "It only comes rare." When asked why, she said, "I don't know. That's the only way the chefs cook it." We surmised that because of the crowd, the number of people ordering prime rib, and the scarcity of kitchen staff that they could not handle special orders. I decided to have ribs! The prime rib did arrive rare! Almost bleeding rare With a cold interior. The green beans were also cold and the mashed potatoes with gravy were both tepid, on the lowest edge of warm. The server was busy so not as attentive to our needs of drink refills or additional flatware or plates for the appetizers. There are two Texas Roadhouse restaurants in the area--this busy one in Pooler and another one in Savannah southside. We will go there next time and avoid the crowds and hopefully get prime rib to order. read more

Never disappoints! You come for the rolls, you stay for the drinks & food. Hands down the best most dense, fluffy, tasty rolls to place upon your palate. Ribs were decent, loaded baked potato smashes with the salted skin...YUM! The salads are a great size and always crisp. Loaded potatoes whether it's baked, sweet, or French fries hits just right. The drinks go down easy as they taste refreshing and the optional added kicker is great if you're there to get a bit lit ....not pictured are the fried pickles and dip which are a great ration of breading to pickle. Atmosphere is loud like a bar, servers are hoppin', your drink is never empty. Overall a great chain restaurant that is consistent from Vegas to Georgia. read more

I had a birthday dinner at this restaurant and our waitress was Leah and her overall performance was very poor. One of my family members asked for a different drink because her tea tasted like colored water and we waited over 10 minutes for the drinks. We had to call over another waiter because she had completely disappeared or was doing side quest around avoiding us. When the waiter had called for her Leah was sitting around in the corner with other waiters and looked visually annoyed when coming to our table. Finally we were able to get our different drinks and our food, and the food overall was good. Though, one of my family members asked for no sour cream and her baked potato was filled with it under the cheese. When we asked for a new baked potato she took the potato back visually annoyed again. After our food when we discussed how the bill would be split between our party members she again rolled her eyes and looked visually annoyed. It would be one thing if we were being disrespectful or overly demanding, but we didn't do nothing. Before we sat down one of my family members told Leah it was my birthday and we wanted them to sing happy birthday a few times, but nobody ever came up though the waiters sang happy birthday to a number of people around us. After paying we called for another waitress to tell her we didn't know where our waitress was but we wanted them to sing happy birthday, but we waited at least 10 minutes and nobody came up though we saw that waitress go to her and explain what we wanted. Instead she again completed side quest around the restaurant even sweeping in the section where her and the other waiters were mingling. Where no customers had been. We asked for another waitress and they went to her and explain the section and again we waited at least 10 minutes for Leah, but she disappeared. Atmosphere -  A cookie cutter design by corporate can be found across their locations, and this is no different from all the other locations I have been.  Normally the place is dusted with peanut shells, but with COVID not a trace can be found.  Rustic wood Americana is prominent in the design of the place.  The dining area is large but set up almost as maze.  This almost gives the sense of a smaller place, but do not worry the volume inside will remind you how crowded it really is. Food Appetizer - Free basket of dinner rolls, one for each person. Drink - I love my beer and especially my IPAs.  They did not have any IPAs on the menu so I asked.  They had Goose Island IPA.  I had that beer tonight. Meal- The Dallas Filet cooked to medium rare, with a baked potato and a side salad.  Getting the right temp is a little bit of art when cooking a steak, my steak tonight was more on the rare side than medium rare.  Which is fine.  The baked potato was excellent.  I wished they had a vinaigrette as a choice for salad dressing. Service - The wait to be seated was long but knew that going in.  The text messages to indicate the our table did not come across until we were sitting down.  My dad checked on the status, and they indicated they had texted him.  So we where the next ones to be seated.  What you need to enjoy your time with your family. Despite the mashed potatoes lacking any sort of flavor and in need of a decent mashing, as well as my girlfriend's sirloin being about as tender as a new leather belt, I personally had a great ribeye and fried pickles. The true savior of the night was our waitress, Morgan, who couldn't have been more accommodating and a pleasure to speak to. She was just as quick on her feet as she was with her wit and amicability. As people were coming in to the restaurant, various families or groups were coming in for a table. A youth basketball team entered, the coach was putting their name on the list.... Many other people were inside awaiting for their names / table to be called. An employee named Kaila came from the back and immediately looked at the basketball team and told them they needed to go outside and wait, she did not say this to anyone else just them. After a few minutes and they did not leave, she sent another employee that was male and not white over to tell the basketball group that they needed to wait outside, he did not tell any of the other groups or families they had to leave! The basketball group decided to leave and take their business elsewhere. Then Kaila, looked at our family of 6 and now was telling us we needed to wait outside until our table was called, again not telling that to everyone just the people she perceived needed to be outside. I told her No and pointed out the other families that have been in here before us. She then asked the other families if they had received a text that their table was ready, they said no and she asked them to go outside too. There is absolutely no signage stating that people needed to wait outside and Kaila was very discriminatory in who she shared this supposed Texas Roadhouse rule! read more

So apparently the manager here is an overly conservative manager regarding drinks served. I'm sitting quietly at the bar, had 1 Mich Ultra 16 oz, 2 Margaritas, then 1 glass of Cab with a bone in ribeye and sweet potato. Meal was great, bartenders nice, but I tried to order 1 more glass of Cab and the bartenders started telling me I was essentially cut off because the manager has some overly conservative policy. They said it wasn't chain-wide, and some dude at the bar tried to say it was the wine that triggered it (who knows), but this was extremely weird. Mind you I was traveling alone, almost 60 yrs old, quiet, alone at the bar. Then I noticed the dude next to me spying on this review. Very weird place. Meal was great and bartenders were nice though. Overall just a really weird vibe. I've literally drank and eaten around the US and World and never felt as awkward or judged as this. I don't usually rate chain steakhouse, but this is an exception. We arrived around 8:00, and it was a full house. The wait was 45 minutes, so we found a seat at the bar for a little while. Kelsey at the bar was friendly and helpful. Even though the bar was at capacity, our drink orders got through really quick. His suggestions were spot on. We were surprised to get a seat in about 30 minutes. Usually we end up having to wait longer at places than we are quoted for, so this was a welcome change. We were seated and abruptly served by Logan, who was incredibly professional and efficient. In spite of a very crowded restaurant, Logan spent extra time talking with my parents, familiarizing them with the menu. Since my parents were first timers at Texas Roadhouse, the assistant manager Sam surprised them with a side dish tray for each of them. I've never seen a chain go to those lengths, and it's really a fantastic idea. I've been to the Roadhouse in Savannah a few times, but never knew to try the chili or the corn, and it definitely influenced my side dish decisions. It's smarter and more practical than a free appetizer. The food was delicious, and cooked to perfection. The rolls were really good too, and we asked if we could possibly get some more rolls. They weren't ready so he promised some to-go. Before we left we had a crazy portion of rolls in to go boxes. All around was just a fantastic experience. Well-run establishment with great staff. Miguel was amazing and compassionate server. I am hearing impaired with a cochlear implant and he went out of his way to make sure I understood everything about the menu.
