I recently visited this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the service. Despite being placed on a waitlist and arriving at the designated time, I was seated over an hour and a half later. I was even told to wait in my car until I received a text message. While the service at the table was okay, it was clear that the waitstaff was trying to rush us. This experience left a lot to be desired and I will not be returning. While I understand that circumstances arise, but an hour and a half wait after already waiting your designated time on a waitlist is ridiculous. read more

This place is a joke. When your on the wait list and they tell you 1 hr 15 min and it takes over 2 hours that's a terrible start.then it's a 20 min wait for service. Next our appetizer took half an hour and was out the same time as our meal. This place is ridiculous. Not even an apology or anything. The food was way under cooked. The service sucked. Nothing was arlt all good about our experience. Never eating here again. What do people get on the wait list at 7am. That's the only way I can see that they get in b4 us we got on the list at 5pm and finally sat at 730. All in all we were there almost 5 hours. They completely screwed up my order and I do not recommend online orders! So, I gave them two stars because the food was okay (or maybe I was starving). However, they are also getting two stars because my order was horribly wrong. To start, one of my drinks was missing and my sweet tea was warm with no ice in it. My salad was not the salad I ordered. My kid's meal was not warm, and when I pulled up to the curb-side order, I sat for 20 minutes, and when I got impatient and asked what was taking so long, I was told someone miswrote my name on the board. I asked for ketchup for my steak fries and burgers and was given five ketchup packets. Really? This is the worst online order experience I've had ever and I do not recommend ordering from here because, with the COVID-19 pandemic, they have proved incapable of correctly reading and preparing online orders. As a traveling Soldier, online orders are my preferred method. Parking, price, selection were the same as what anyone should expect - the differences in chains is going to be in service and flavor - because it's all about the front people and the person applying the salt! Onion Blossom was horrible Went here with my family and foods always been decent but they have been going down hill, one time Chicken Critters were under cooked. Then last time we went we ordered there Onion Blossom, didn't ever get it but we didn't complain because we had to much to eat anyway. Then yesterday we went again and everything was good everything came out efficiently maybe to fast. Then my husband noticed the sauce for our blossom was very sweat and the blossom tasted funky. The bottom was cool and sitting in a pool of water or oil, I did request new sauce but after seeing the pool I told them we didn't want it and to take it back. I'm guessing that Onion blossom had to have been made 30 minutes to an hour before they gave it to us and it must of been sitting under a heat lamp from the color of the sauce compared to a fresh sauce they bought. Absolutely amazing! And worth the wait if you do have a wait when you show up. Service was great food was even better. I got the country fried sirloin, my cousin got the sirloin ka bobs and the meat was cooked to perfection how we both requested. Both my kids enjoyed their meal also. I've eaten at other Texas Roadhouses and had a better experience. The online check in was nice they said 35-45 minutes we pulled up in 45 and waited another 15 which was fine it was very busy. My dad ordered decaf which was nice the waitress brewed him a pot of coffee. My son and my drinks were served immediately. Everybody's food was great but mine. I ordered the smothered chicken with no onions or mushrooms I was served a tiny chicken breast which was dry no cheese no gravy. The waitress did get me gravy. Had this not happened I would've rated a 5 cause other than the long wait (for food and getting a table which couldn't be helped due to busy ness) the sides I received and mango margarita were great. My son and dad's food was perfect! Next time I'll order something easier. The reason I'm rating it a 2 is due to my experience using restroom. It was SO busy...2 female staff members went to bathroom did NOT wash their hands and sat by mirror taking selfies. I am a Nurse and seeing the hands not washed was not pleasant. Manager did come to table quickly to say if any problems to let her know...we were waiting on our meal our bread basket was out she looked down and kept making her rounds. Food was decent and they even got a vegetarian option (just sides but they will put them together for you at a fixed price) however, we went the day after Christmas, so te place was packed, the waiting time was about 15 minutes over the estimated (we were told 45 min and waited a bit over an hour), the service was really rushed, and they did not put much effort in the presentation of their dishes. Nonetheless great steak according to the meat eaters in my party. Just avoid during high season. Also, bring your own take out containers, they only carry large styrofoam boxes. We ordered our to go order at 5pm and were told that it would be 40 minutes ok no problem. We arrived and paid and were told to park and someone would bring it out, again no problem. We sat in our parking spot and watched people come after us and get their order repeatedly. An HOUR later [2hours after placing order] we called and asked how long it would be "they are on their way our now" after having to ask if maybe our order was under a different name and then needing to know our parking space. They brought our food out and it was COLD. I cant imagine how long it sat there. I understand this is a new process and they are trying to navigate it but seriously it's not that hard to take an order make an order and deliver an order in a timely manner and preferably hot. Texas Roadhouse is your classic All-American steakhouse. They are so confident of their steaks that they proudly display them on your way to be seated. The atmosphere is almost reminiscent of going to a rodeo, it's loud, it's packed, people are randomly dancing to country music and the ground is covered in peanut shells. Not exactly the place for a romantic evening, but great for going with friends and family. Personally the atmosphere is not really my style. I'm not a fan of country music and with as loud as it is, it can make conversation a bit difficult. What brings me in is the steak. The way they flavor the steak is so delicious that you don't need any sauce. My husband has grown up on putting ketchup on his steak (I know, the atrocity!) and even he holds back and eats it plain. The sides are also good, I wouldn't say they are anything special, about what you could probably make at home. We also tried out a couple of their drinks. We were recommended the Frozen Sangria Margarita with a Patron Kick and the Blue Crush Lemonade. Both were good, but not something I would necessarily recommend. One nice thing with the flavored lemonades is that you can try a different flavor with your refill. I tried the Wild Strawberry the next round and it enjoyed it more. It had a more classic Lemonade flavor to it than the Blue Crush. Like any restaurant the alcoholic drinks are a bit expensive. The Sangria Margarita was $7, not worth it in my book, especially not the additional $2 patron kick which is just a shot vial they sit in your drink. The appetizers though, I would definitely recommend. We typically get the Cactus Blossom, it is a decent size, large enough for four people, for $5.99. If you haven't downloaded Texas Roadhouse's app, I'd suggest doing so before going because it gives you a free appetizer coupon as soon as you sign up. There are a couple of things to be aware of. There have been multiple occasions where our meat has not been cooked to order correctly. More often the meat is under cooked, however this last visit it was overcooked. We aren't ones to send food back though, so I can't tell you how the waitstaff handles mix ups like that. Even with those occurrences, we still love to go. One other thing that I wish I knew/remembered is their salads. For their house salads, they dice up a hard boiled egg and put it on top. My husband loves it, but I always end up sitting there for five minutes trying to pick it all off. Also, as I mentioned before Texas Roadhouse has an app. On the app you can get put on the wait-list, pay your bill, buy gift cards, check gift card balances, or order to-go. The more you use the app the more "VIP Offers," aka coupons, you earn. The wait times at Texas Roadhouse can be pretty crazy, they seem to always be busy, especially if you are looking for a table for 4 or more. I HIGHLY recommend getting on the wait-list ahead of time. You can do that one of three ways, using the app, calling in, or they also have an option on their website. The hostess will typically ask you for the code you received so make sure you write it down or screenshot it if you did it on your phone. My family and I went to Texas Roadhouse for a birthday celebration of a fellow family member. When we first arrived, we were told that they had never received our reservation, and the wait would be over an hour and a half long. We explained our situation and the staff said they could seat us sooner due to the errors of the RSVP not being properly receieved, and they take the first 6 people over to their table, which we thought was weird that they could only seat half of us at a time for the same tables, but they took half of our party and sat them at a table. The waitress then came back and asked for the remainder of us to follow her to the table. We did as asked only to find out that the table was across the entire restaurant from the other table, where the other half of our guests were seated. It's not great when you're trying to celebrate a birthday celebration together! We then noticed that the table right across from us, was still completely empty, and had to specially request that they move the other half of the guests to the empty and open table right beside us, so that we could all be together. I was informed that they were not planning on seating that table for the night and did have to ask the waitress if she was comfortable taking on the additional table, however this is still upsetting that we had to initiate this rather than the staff working this out prior when we were previously waiting for them to figure out the issues with the RSVP already. Reguardless, they did end up moving us all together into the same area, and the birthday celebration continued. I want to note that our new server was wonderful. She was very sweet, always went the extra mile for us by asking exactly what we would and would not want included in our orders, and was always making sure that our drinks were full and the food was done properly as it all arrived. It is truly because of her that this rating is getting a 3-star review. As dinner continued on, the appetizers were great, cooked wonderfully, and quick to arrive. Then, it was time for the main course, and this is when issues began to arise again. When one of my family members received their steak, it was extremely overdone and needed to be sent back; however, by the time we got his steak back, everyone had nearly finished their entire meals. In addition, my steak was also overdone, for the THIRD time in a row of attending this restaurant. This is especially upsetting considering that on the menu's the state exactly how you can expect your steak turn out based on how you order it. I ordered mine Medium, and it has come out well done the past three times I have ordered from this restaurant. The first two i sent back, however this time after noticing the wait it would take via my family member fir a 6oz, having had the 16oz, i ate what i considered edible and packed the rest up to take home for the dogs. Overall, this experience was not great, and I probably will not be attending again, which is a shame because this used to be my favorite restaurant when it comes to getting a good steak, but lately seems to have gone downhill. We eat here everytime we are in Sioux Falls(about once a month) and have NEVER been dissapointed. The food is amazing, compared to other restaurants is pricing is great and the service has always been great and fast! Tonight, eating there, I was even more impressed. When we got our steaks tonight they came out super fast, so fast that we didn't get our salads. We told the food runner we didn't have our salads yet and he genuinely apologized and quickly brought them out. He then apologized again and went and told our server. Our server then came over and apologized again. We were a little bummed cause it is always nice to have your first, but working in a restaruant through college I would NEVER have complained as I get stuff like that happens sometimes. What impressed me is even though we didn't complain (as it really wasn't a big deal) our server notified the manager quickly and the manager quickly came over and again apologized and offered to take the salads off our bill. Prime Rib. My husband ordered 14 oz prime rib. We understand that prime rib has some fat, But this particular piece of meat was over half fat! My husband didn't realize just how much fat there was as it was partially charred on this medium rare piece of meat. We have never seen a cut of prime rib with this much fat and eventually asked the waitress to Send the manager over. he agreed and said "it was an excessive amount of fat", But added some cuts are just fattier than others! I asked him if this was typical of their prime rib and he said it Varies and this one does have a lot. My husband kept assuming he would get beyond the fatty areas, or he would have asked the waitress to take the meat back. He did finally ask the waitress to send the manager over to our table The manager told us if it happens again let them know and they will replace it. i was nearly done with my dinner before we could catch our server. And then we waited for the manager. I think it is ridiculous that the piece of meat was actually delivered to our table. We paid for a 14 oz prime river and maybe got 6 ounces of meat. we wanted them to know how disappointed we were in this meal. The managers response that next time let the waitress know sooner was an appropriate response. evidently he just hopes people will accept such poor quality. I am giving 3 stars only because I can never seem to get a prime rib! The last 3 visits have resulted in sad disappointment. Today we went in for lunch (we live an hour away) and this is the closet place to get good prime rib. The last two times they were out.. Usually we eat between 645-730pm & I find so ridiculous that there isn't enough prepared. Today we drove over for lunch. They don't serve prime rib until after 2. We arrived at 1130 & didn't get any. Had the smaller portion prime rib, cooked medium. It was good. I asked for horseradish sauce and got straight horseradish that was quite strong but still good. I also ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, the waitress handed me my plate and there was a hair sticking up out of the sour cream. I immediately sent it back.
