One of the few chain restaurants that are consistently good. They are not currently offering the Early Dine special "because of Covid" which I found kind of funny. But the rolls were hot, the steaks were rare (as we ordered them) and the servings are large. I have the filet salad and it was excellent. My husband and I always love Texas Roadhouse for their Happy Hour specials, rolls, fresh salads, and juicy steaks & shrimp. We arrived shortly after 4:00 pm on a Weekday so there wasn't a wait time and sat down immediately. The hostess mentioned the soups of the day, happy hour specials, and offered us some of the best rolls as she introduced our server Hailey. I must say Hailey was fantastic, she was very friendly, knowledgable about the menu, and attentive to our table (e.g. made sure when didn't run out of rolls or beverages, cleaned off dirty dishes, brought the check in a timely manner, etc.) I ordered a top shelf margarita on the rocks that was delicious and for the Happy Hour price of $3.00. Entree- I ordered the grilled shrimp skewers that comes with rice and two sides, I chose the house salad with honey mustard & and a baked potato. My husband ordered a steak cooked medium plus that is in between medium and medium well, caesar salad, & a bake potato with the toppings on the side. As a vegetarian, I wasn't super thrilled to pull into the Texas Roadhouse for dinner, but my coworker suggested it or the Outback Steakhouse, so I figured I'd be screwed either way. I don't think I've been in a Texas Roadhouse in five years, though I was glad a bucket of peanuts was still provided and that the shells could be liberally thrown on the floor. The menu had a few salads without meat and then the "Veg Plate" which was a choice of 4 sides. Wahoo! Thankfully there was $1.49 margaritas for happy hour. We started our meal with the Rattlesnake Bites, which are like balls of pepperjack cheese served a cajun horseradish sauce. I think the pepperjack would be better in a stick format--or something thinner so it could be somehow crispier? For my "Veg Plate" I had the Caesar salad, "fresh vegetables" which were broccoli and carrots (I doubt it ever changes. . . ), seasoned rice (kind of like fried rice), and then a baked sweet potato with caramel sauce and marshmallows (who offers this?!). Dinner was decent--made better by the random dinner rolls and the cheap margaritas. I laughed because my meal was like Chinese leftovers meets Thanksgiving on Cinco de Mayo. Jim B., my coworker, enjoyed his pulled pork, corn, and applesauce meal. What was random about being in this restaurant, I turned to Jim and basically said, "You know, we could be in any city, USA and it would basically be the same." I suppose sometimes it's refreshing that there is such consistency, but also, shouldn't things be more exciting? I guess they say, "y'all" a bit more down here. read more

It's actually sort of hard deciding how many stars I should rate them for. Their food was great, loved it-their steak and shrimp kabob plates are something I would not mind go back to eating again. I like my steak done medium rare or rare, and when I got it-it was done perfectly and it was extremely savory and completely satisfying to the taste. Their side of mashed potatoes and grilled shrimp kabobs were not too bad either. The number one thing I hear often before coming to Texas Roadhouse is to try their onion blossom-and just as people have told me, it definitely did not disappoint. Now here's the reason I wasn't sure on how many stars I should give this actual location. Maybe it was because it was Mother's Day but the wait for our food went to literally 3 hours. The time gap from when we got our appetizer to finally having our entree brought to us was 2 hours. Mainly because one of the servers actually gave our order to a different table and messed up, even so-our own server barely came to check up on us which was disappointing. My mom was getting aggravated with the extremely long wait for our food, but when we did finally get our meal she was completely satisfied with the food so maybe that made things a bit better. Yesterday Monday, June 10th was another disappointment to my wife and myself. We eat here 2-3 times a week for the early dine special or for a big ole steak with loaded fries n sweet tea. My wife almost always gets a loaded sweet potato. Well yesterday our server approached us, stated her name but had a different name tag on that said Drea so we were a bit confused. No big deal. She took our drink order came back, we placed our order. Our bread that we love so much? Cold and the butter completely melted and spilling all over basket and not appealing. My wife always always always orders the 6 oz sirloin, sweet potato and house salad with Italian. The salads are always crisp, fresh and just the way we like them. Yesterday was the same. Salads were excellent. I love the chopped egg, cheddar, tomato (though yesterday they were left over chopped tomatoes from the day before; I know this because I'm a chef and can see that they were giving up all their juices and were turning translucent). We picked them to the side and the salads were still excellent. Sweet tea was crisp, cold and the ice cold coke was on point but that's where the good ends. My chicken fried steak was burnt and almost inedible. I had the gravy on the side so I just smothered it and swallowed the burnt up steak. My loaded fries were disgusting. Normally I would eat them all and ask for additional dipping sauce but not today. The fries were stale and old, saturated in fat as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp for 10 minutes. As a cheese lover I love cheese but what I have always admired was Texas Roadhosues consistency nationwide. No matter where I go or where I land I always eat Texas Roadhouse loaded fries and 98.6% of the time they are perfect but yesterday I was sooooooo Mad. Yesterday there was so much cheese that it unbalanced the flavors and all I had was stale fries with a giant glob of cheese. Who complains about too much cheese right? Well I am convinced that the fry cook was off on their timing all together because my chicken fried steak was burnt, my loaded fries were old, fry station put my loaded fries in the window under the heat lamp minimum 5 minutes before the rest of the food came up. My wife's steak which she always orders medium had zero pink it and was gray and well done but she still ate it and was still flavorful to her so I was happy if she was happy. But her sweet potato was raw and inedible. Here's where we were frustrated most and is almost a first for us; our server didn't check back in with us to check if our food was good. Back waiter or food runner dropped food and ran. We waited almost 10 minutes before we could wave to our server while she was standing at server station chatting it up with other workers. Last week my steak was undercooked and my mashed potatoes weren't super hot like they normally are. With so many affordable choices for steaks these days I hope you get things tightened up in the kitchen and the servers aren't on the floor using their phones behind the Point of Sale screens. Just frustrated because I love Roadhouse and they have always done an excellent job but the last few weeks we have really been underwhelmed. 2 stars for good salad, hostess was kind and helpful holding our door and greeting us with a big ole "hay y'all". Other than that we will be checking out the new steakhouses in town and will return in a few months I guess. Maybe I need to go over to Gulfport to get my Roadhouse on. read more
