Just like every other TR I visit while traveling for work. I know exactly what I'm getting. This place was clean and Emma at the bar was great. However, this sign was shining so bright it made watching the tvs difficult

Them still charging me for the burger

I am leaving this review after filing a complaint and receiving a response stating that Texas Roadhouse will not be issuing any refund. During my visit, I was served a burnt burger and a raw steak, which is unacceptable food quality for any restaurant. The burger was clearly burnt, and the steak was undercooked to the point that it was raw. When I brought the issue to the staff's attention, I was told that the burger would be removed from my bill because it was burnt. However, after checking my receipt later, I discovered that I was still charged for the burger even though I was told it had been taken off the bill. When I raised this issue, the restaurant did contact me, but instead of addressing the fact that I was still charged for the burger, the response I received was dismissive. I was told that I "should have spoken to a manager instead of going to the BBB." That response avoided the real issue, which is that I was told an item would be removed from the bill but was still charged for it anyway. Because of the burnt burger, the raw steak, and the fact that I was still charged for something I was told would be removed, I requested a refund for the mistake. Texas Roadhouse has now stated they will not be refunding anything, even though the food was improperly prepared and the billing was not handled honestly. The way this situation was handled raises serious concerns about customer service and accountability. I also cannot ignore the possibility that the way my complaint was dismissed may have been influenced by racial bias, as my concerns were not taken seriously and the issue with the charge was never corrected. Customers deserve properly prepared food and honest billing. Unfortunately, in this case, I received neither.

The 6-ounce sirloin was perfectly cooked to medium rare and came with two sides.

Texas Roadhouse in a word: Noisy. Anything else to be said about this place is eclipsed by the noise of families, crying babies, shuffled dishes as tables are cleared, occasional birthday singalongs, clapping, yee-hawing staff, and loud conversations trying to rise above the din. Behind all this, if you can believe it, is a music soundtrack. So--minus the fights and bawdiness-- it lives up to a roadhouse atmosphere. As a steak place it's passable and provides good service. Even after the families cleared out of my section and I could actually hear the music I was surprised by the noise level. If you don't mind the aural assault Texas Roadhouse provides a decent meal at a reasonable price.

This has a nice restaurant vibe - nice tables, tablecloths, art on the walls, good lighting, nice, quiet carpeted spaces. There is a lot to like. We made a reservation, were greeted at the door and then promptly seated. Water came out quickly, along with the menus and the wine list. The wine list was a bit light in that all the bottles were typically lower cost. With such a wide variety of food on the menu, it deserves a bit more depth and some better wines to be included. Not that the wines that were included were bad - they were not. They are just at the very low entry end of the market. Picking up a few from Justin, Stag's Leap, and others in the $80 range would help enhance the restaurant's list. We both ordered entrees, which came with the either soup or salad - we both elected to get salads, where I selected a Caesar and my wife had a standard salad. The Caesar had plenty of parmesan cheese and croutons. The dressing was a bit thin - traditional Caesar dressings are cream based, this one seemed to be light on the garlic and anchovies. No anchovies were available, so it's kind of a light "Caesar." The regular salad my wife had was good - she enjoyed it. For the main course, I ordered their Filet Mignon, medium rare with a baked potato. The server asked if I wanted butter and sour cream, which I did and which was provided. The filet is provided in a cabernet reduction. This may have been a bit much, it was hard to taste the filet with the reduction. The filet came with broccoli which was steamed and was nicely done. The baked potato was cooked through (as expected, and worked well with the butter and sour cream. My wife enjoyed her Shrimp and Grits - the shrimp was cooked quite nicely and seasoned well. We were concerned about the meal size, so we skipped an appetizer, and it was a good thing since she took half of her shrimp and grits home. We were not rushed out of our table, and had a good time.

The place is clean, bright and cozy without being cramped. The service is friendly and helpful. The menu is not too big nor too small....just right. We ordered the spinach pie - flakey crust, delicious spinach & feta filling with herbs. Most definitely homemade fresh, not a frozen food service product. Gyro dinner with spinach rice and Greek potatoes - gyro meat was tender and not overly spiced/flavored like, once again, a nasty food service product. Potatoes were cooked perfectly. Soft and seasoned spot-on, obviously made fresh and not left dying under a heat lamp. The spinach rice was tasty but a bit salty. I can assume that since everything is fresh made this might just be a one-off. I am more than willing to try this dish again to test out this hypothesis. I definitely recommend. Please support this venue to assure that this option for an alternative to bar food in downtown Sycamore lasts for a long time to come

The chicken was super tasty and I loved the block of feta. Although, for 15.00, I could get double the salad and chicken and get pita bread at another local Greek restaurant. I would suggest adding more to the salad for the price of 16.50. I will try something different next time but I think my husband will stick with the Gyro dinner and we will just ask for more sauce and pita bread.
