Texas Roadhouse is my favorite chain, and possibly bbq joint , here in Dekalb. Every time my boyfriend and I have visited, we have been met with great food and service. The place is very well kept, and gives off the vibe of a southern bbq joint, minus the peanut dust everywhere. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. As for appetizers, I cannot give recommendations, but if you text the code on their advertisement, you get a free appetizer on next visit. Also worth noting - make sure to listen closely when your server first comes. If they do not mention their signature appetizer, the Cactus Blossom, you get one for free. We once had a waitress not mention it, but my boyfriend would not let me try for the free appetizer, as he has worked at places with such deals and understands how frustrating it can be. read more

Ok, covid aside, we followed directions and got on the wait list via online, told to check in electronically upon arrival, which we did, 30 minutes later still not told to come in despite multiple parties leaving. Went in to see what was going on and they seemed confused. Finally brought in to be seated, escorted past 10 empty tables and told to sit right next to an oversized party that had pulled up another table into the aisle right next to ours, meanwhile we are surrounded by empty tables. So tight that the other party's waitress thought we were together. Plus, hello Texas Roadhouse, there is still a pandemic going on! Duh! Wow... this is a go to spot for me and my fiancé but today 5/25/2019 it will probably be a last. Our waitress is rude. And our food was icky. Fiancés burger was burnt and my pulled pork was dry. Say with empty drink glasses for some time and our waitress saw they were empty and literally avoided us. This was your typical steak house fair. We had a large party of 12, and the wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was the seating. It is not good for groups larger than 8. We had to split up, and still had seats in the aisle feeling in the way of through traffic. Definitely call ahead, because it gets crowded. read more

This place is very hit or miss! Last time we were there it was definitely a miss. I ordered the Country fried steak. When it was served it looked good on the top, covered with gravy. When I cut into it I found out it was burnt on the bottom, the meat crispy. I pointed it out to the waitress & she ordered a replacement right away. A manager even came by when they brought another, which was kind of annoying because she stood and waited for me to cut it to see if it was ok. It was ok in appearance but taste was another thing. For our first time we did not like it that much. Most of my food was lukewarm and the green bean looks and tasted like caned of green bean not fresh green beans. My husband said that his stake tasted like it soaked in salt and he felt sick and he could not eat any more of it. What a disappointment. Never go back. read more

The best there is in our opinion. I always order the fillet and my husband orders the sirloin loaded mashed potatoes or baked potato and Caesar salad or their green beans are to die for! My first time at Texas Roadhouse was for my birthday with two of my roommates. It was super fun! We started off with a cactus blossom to share. My roommate and I both ordered a grilled pork chop dinner, which also comes with two sides (we made it in time for Early Dine with features 11 entrees for $9 each Monday-Thursday before 6pm). My other roommate got the grilled chicken salad and a side of a sweet potato. WOOOOOOW. Rookie mistake ordering an appetizer. Like geeeez. For three people, we could barely fit our food on the table. I ended up stuffing myself with their buns and the ever-so-heavenly cinnamon butter and was too full to finish anything else. I was almost happy with my pork chop. It was moist and flavorful, but damn was it salty! I got a caesar salad and mashed potatoes as my sides and they were good. Couple other things: -I really wish I remembered our waitress' name cos she was flippin' fantastic. -If it's your birthday, they make you get up on a saddle and use your napkin as a lasso. -Peanuts are free--expect shells on the ground. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. Not one bad thing. The first time we went was a busy day. We were greeted by kind hostesses and seated with an awesome guy Sean, whom I highly recommend. The ribeye was hands down the best I've ever had (some could disagree but I rather enjoyed it). The food and the server were so great that I had to call the manager over to tell her that if she didn't appreciate that waiter already they should since good service is so hard to come by. As a server myself I was really impressed. She was so enthralled by our kind words that she gave us discount coupons. Totally weren't expecting or looking for any, but it was a nice gesture. We came back the next day! I don't see myself getting tired of this place. I've yet to have bad service (at a table). The bartenders so far haven't been too friendly but not real complaints. And I WILL say that since they make those girls stop what they're during at busy hours and do some southern jig, they all look so frustrated and half assed that I wish they would just stop making them do it. After so many times it's unnecessary. We get it. It's Texas lol let them do their jobs! They're servers not dancers. That'd be about the only thing I have to say. P.S. We have been here several times since it opened. They had their issues with waits and what not for a new place, but the service has always been top notch and the food high quality. So why only three stars? 3 of the last 5 times we have gone in, we have ordered Prime Rib only to find out they were out. This was not late night, 2 of those times were 5:30 PM, and they open at 4PM. Last night, Sunday, we went in at 5 PM. Seated right away (we call ahead) and placed our orders. The waitress came back and said they only have a few orders left of Prime Rib and it was well done, in other words inedible. She apologized. After changing my order I asked to talk with the manager, things went quickly downhill. When he came over, I asked if they were going to start carrying prime rib (yes, I was irritated). he said they already did and I replied I really see no evidence of that. He said it was really popular. Great, if you keep running out, why not make more? His reply was they rarely ran out. When we mentioned that it has happened more than once, within 90 minutes of opening, he said that never happens (i.e. we're liars) and that if we were told that, the staff was "making it up". Why on earth would the do that. He said we have 8 other cuts of meat. I said, yes I had already downgraded to the porterhouse. His reply was, "I would never order that" REALLY! I said we would probably start going to Sorrentos more (it is a bit of a drive but EXCELLENT) to which he replied "It's a risk we take making everything fresh." Sorrentos makes their prime rib days before? Mind you, during this whole experience we had never got an apology form this manager. This is not a Texas Roadhouse way of doing business. We used to frequent the one in Rockford. Once, my steak came more medium well than med rare. I really didn't say anything til toward the end because of how busy they were and only really mentioned it to the waitress at the end to let her know they may no longer have med rare left. She offered to get the manager and I insisted no, it was not that bad since I ate it and it was more an FYI and we were happy. She told the manager who came over and apologized profusely who then insisted on giving us a discount. When we paid, he had taken my order off. We have and will go back there. I had heard from several people I know that works there and another restaurant manager that management here was their problem. We had not encountered him up until this point and wrote off what they said as it was their boss or competition. Not so much.The waitress came back, we chatted for a while and she kept apologizing. We noticed her talking to another manager or floor lead, who then in turn talked to the manager. At the end the manager came over and gave us a discount, however would not apologize. When they have items in stock, the quality is high. The wait staff is ALWAYS friendly and the atmosphere fun. While they do tend to salt things a bith much, you can request they cut that back. I will recommend Texas Roadhouse to anyone, just maybe not this one. read more

We received a gift card to this place for our anniversary. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 1 PM. We were seated right away and there were quite a few people there but by no means crowded. We got bread and our drinks right away but it took over 30 minutes for our sirloin steaks to come out and when they did I was very disappointed. I ordered medium rare as did my husband. His came out medium, which is somewhat acceptable, but mine came out pretty much well done. The only reason I did not send it back was I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. I only ate half of it because I just didn't enjoy it very much. I doubt that I will be back. Other friends tell us they have eaten at the Naperville location and not had these issues. read more

They have sirloin steak, Bacon Cheeseburgers, unlimited free peanuts, boneless buffalo wings, ribs, steak fries, pulled pork, to name a few. And they're all served Texas style. Which in America translates....huge. Now I will say I'm not big on American cuisine. So that is the three star rating. But I ordered the Kabobs and they were delicious!! I got a Caesar salad as a side and the steak fries. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger and loved it (this was his second time there and he ordered the same thing so it must be good.) Before the feeding frenzy starts you are given a type of sweet roll with a cinnamon butter. Woah!! For atmosphere they have tvs lined around the bar area which sits in the middle of the restaurant so you have a great view of the game from wherever you are sitting. We were there on a Friday night and every half hour they would do a line dance and someone would occasionally yell out, "Texas Roadhouse!" Which for any length of time I think would get obnoxious. But it was fun for the time we were there. I won't come here often because as I said I'm not a fan of American cuisine, but it wasn't a bad place to eat when you've been taken hostage by a group who doesn't share your same eating tastes. This is by far the worst Texas Roadhouse restaurant I've visited. No way you can focus on eating when you have to fight off FLIES from landing on every and anything on the table. I accidentally left my card in the book and Texas Roadhouse proceeded to hold my debit card hostage when I was out of town. When I came to retrieve it, the staff was unable to locate any cards, including mine. I had dinner with a friend the night before, and woke up to see that my debit card was missing from my wallet, I knew it was at Texas Roadhouse, however, I was working an event throughout the duration of there open hours, 4-10PM. I called the restaurant as soon as it opened and talked to Megan. I informed her that I was staying at the Holiday Inn, literally 300 FEET away from the restaurant and could provide details on the card to prove it was mine. The hotel also knew I was staying there. Regardless, Megan refused to bring the card back to the hotel, stating it was corporate policy that lost cards cannot leave the premises. She then informed me that a crew was scheduled to be in at 11AM the next morning and they would provide my card. So I delayed my entire morning for the TR crew to arrive at work, only to be informed that they didn't know where management kept the cards, and that the office was such a mess that they couldn't find anything. I barely had enough gas to get home, this establishment could've very easily left me stranded in DeKalb with their negligence. The staffer in the morning even laughed at me when I told what they were doing was borderline criminal. Megan had my card, refused to perform an extremely basic task to ensure that I had access to my money and left me in a terrible spot. This is what happens when company's value their processes more than their people. Now I'm going to have to get a new card mailed to me by the bank, reset all of my auto payment for all of my bills, because of a staff that simply didn't care about their patrons. I'll never dine at a Texas Roadhouse establishment again. read more

Overall, I am a fan of this place. I tend to like meat anyway, so a good steak is always nice. I ordered a huge steak the last time I was there and it was cooked to perfection! I order my steak medium-rare and the steak was juicy and flavorful. For my sides I ordered the steak fries and the sweet potato, which was topped with marshmallows. Primerib is simply the best I've ever had. Nicely seasoned, and my medium rare 12oz cut was cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth. I added sautéed mushrooms, steak fries and a salad with blue cheese dressing - which their dressings are all made from scratch. It was a great value as well, at only $17 and change (for Primerib!), I think adding the mushrooms was $2 more. The classic margarita on the rocks was also awesome, it came in a frosty fishbowl and was nice and strong. Husband had the New York strip, and was very pleased. Service was very attentive, we were seated within 5 minutes (this was only the second day this location was open), and the food and drinks came out quickly. All and all, this was quite frankly one of the best meals I've ever had. Highly recommended. Make sure to do the call ahead seating if you're going at a peak time. read more

I placed an online order at 10:15 AM this morning. I got to the restaurant at 11:05 AM, and they open at 11 AM on Saturday. The waitress told me that she would bring my order out to my car when it was ready. I waited 30 minutes for my order and then went back into the restaurant. The waitress saw me and said oh they just finished the order. Nothing should take 30 minutes. One of the meals I ordered without mushrooms and onions. It came with both. Great food and amazing service. Kahliegh, our waitress was very attentive and nice and the hostess/table seater was extremely nice. I had a 20oz ribeye steak that was delectable and my girlfriend had the portobello mushroom chicken which was very flavorful. They can get a very busy on Friday evening but their servers and cooks still provide excellent service and food which is worth mentioning because some restaurants can't handle busy hours. Half of the time, the wait was very long, so we ended up going elsewhere those times; but the other half of the time we came here, I never had a single issue with this restaurant.
