We ordered our food and then waited an hour with no updates from anyone. Eventually had to track our waiter down and he informs us that, "a new person gave your food to a different table" and then he said it'll only be a couple more minutes since they had to remake it. We waited another 15-20 minutes and decided to just leave after yet again not receiving any updates. The manager comes over and says it's only been 55 minutes, not a full hour (as if that makes a difference?) and then informs us that they haven't even started on remaking our food. We know it wasn't the waiters fault, but the improper communication and poor attitude from the manager was what really ruined the night for us. The only things offered to solve the problem was a scoff and side eye from the manager. We were there to celebrate and ended up getting bread and attitude for dinner instead. Texas Roadhouse is a pretty typical chain steakhouse. The one in Syracuse usually gets you seated fairly quickly and they have a large bar area to grab a drink, as well as free shelled peanuts galore to keep your tastebuds happy while you wait. I agree with a review from a previous reviewer who said that the food is overly buttered/salted. I've had multiple dishes from here and have found this to be true for most of them. A little seasoning is good but they really lay it on thick here. The best part of Texas Roadhouse is the house rolls they serve warm before your meal alongside their cinnamon butter - top notch! They also have a good house salad that has a variety of ingredients including egg - a rarity for a house salad at most places. If you are in the mood for steak in Syracuse, there are much better options. If you are determined to get one at a cheaper/faster place, than I would recommend Outback. read more

For the price, the ribeye was worth it with the two sides (green beans and loaded mashed potatoes). The bread with the cinnamon sweet butter was incredible, served hot and fresh. The service was excellent. The cut of steak was a little too thick and chewy but it was still prepared as requested, medium rare. Definitely worth a try! As always, it was good (especially the shrimp!!!) but both this time and the last time that we ate at this location I found a hair in my salad? Fortunately, last time we ate in so we received another salad free of charge and a coupon for our next meal but this time we just had to throw it away. This was by far the worst meal of my trip this week. I ordered the 10oz ribeye steak with shrimp and the steak was extremely disappointing. The ribeye was just tasteless and was really the worst steak I have ever had anywhere. Our waiters was Tula or Tulsa and she forgot the shrimp I ordered. On the eve of July 13, 2022, we went to the Dewitt location to grab a later-than-usual meal. We called there first, and the phone message said they were open until 10 pm. Upon arrival at 8:15, there were 6 cars in the parking lot. Once inside, the hostess said the message was false. They were closing at 9:30 and there was a big wait time, even for a party of 2. She then stated that the wait time would be too long and the kitchen would be closing down. A quick view by us revealed that there were several vacant seats inside. We were then informed that those sections were all closed. The hostess was rude, disrespectful and a very poor example of good customer service from a reputable chain restaurant. At that point, I didn't even want to consider a to-go order. We then left and went to Olive Garden, next door, for a hassle-free experience and a satisfying meal. Due to this bad experience and similar issues with rudeness at this location in the past, we will never darken the doors of any Texas Roadhouse again. No more "Hee-haw's" from us Roadhouse -- and we'll definitely spread-the-word! read more

This is my favorite steakhouse that I often to choose to dine at for special occasions. It definitely has the rustic look and ambiance down to the line dancing that the staff does while singing happy birthday. I gave it 5 stars based on the 25-45 minute wait . I suppose it was to be expected as it was St. Patrick's Day weekend but I did cal ahead seating .. thus the wait was not anticipated . There are two long benches for seating yet standing room only caused patrons to be hostile. I supposed they were hangry and one patron failed To give up their seat to an elderly gentleman with a cane and there was a verbal altercation and the opposing party left. Nevertheless my party of 4 was seated soon afterward. Our waitress was friendly and quick to take our order for drinks , delivered hot rolls that Texas Roadhouse is known for with honey cinnamon butter. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita with sugar on the rim. It had the appropriate amount of alcohol and was not watered down. The presentation made it look like an island drink. I ordered the 10 oz prime rib, with 2 sides . I chose a garden salad and loaded baked potato. The salad was robust with toppings( boiled eggs, fresh cucumbers and bright reds cherry tomatoes. )I think their salad is the best on the Blvd. As I was eating my salad and delighting in conversation, our main entree's were delivered by a different. Wait staff . We were greeted with a smile and accuracy. My entree was searing with hot juices and my baked potato had just the right crispin on the skin yet was delightfully tasting twice baked on the inside. Our evening was topped off by grabbing a bag of fresh peanuts on the way out. The experience and dining atmosphere was as described above if not better. read more

This place has gone downhill. Don't waste your time here. The place is empty at 5:00 on a Monday, perfect time to dine with a 10 month old. Fast forward to 6:15, still no dinner. Had to pay the bill before I even got my food so we could take it to go and eat it at home cold. Maybe one or two of the 8 hostesses could have gone back to the kitchen to get the food done faster. But then again they certainly struggled to figure out how to seat people. A 10 month old can only sit in a high chair so long before a melt down. You dropped the ball Texas Roadhouse. We came here to celebrate my best friend's birthday. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and led to a nice booth. As we walked to our seat, I noticed that there were plenty of very comfortable, and extremely wide booths in this restaurant - more than adequate to accommodate a family of 4-6 persons. The service was AMAZING! A basket of delicious rolls and cinnamon butter was brought out, and our waitress, Alexis, was extremely pleasant and orchestrated our meal experience perfectly. She offered appetizers, drinks, and gave just the perfect amount of time for us to order. She was extremely friendly, and made our dining experience a memorable one, doing all the little things such as continuously making sure that our needs were met, refilled my drink without having to ask, she made certain that our food was prepared to our liking, asked if we would like more bread, checked on us to see if we needed anything throughout the meal, etc. I am grateful because it was important to me that my best friend had a great time, and although Alexis didn't even know it was a special occasion, she treated us like it was. Thanks Alexis! For appetizers, we ordered the The Onion Blossom (fried onion rings served with zesty cajun horseradish sauce), and fried pickles. I was initially skeptical that fried pickles could actually be a viable appetizer, but I was pleasantly surprised. It had a sour crunch combined with a tangy kick, that just left me longing for more. The appetizers were extremely generous, but we had contain ourselves in order to save room for the main course. We both had the Filet Medallions, topped with either a delectable peppercorn or portobello mushroom sauce. They came with generous sides - my mashed potatoes overflowed with sour cream, lots of cheese, and butter! YUM!!! The steak was tender, juicy, and literally melted in my mouth - if that is even possible for beef! My best friend had a tall glass of Samuel Adams Ocktoberfest (they had a good selection of beer), and a huge lime kicker margarita. I have come here many times and it is always somewhere I want to eat when I am in Syracuse. Adam and I were battling where we were going to eat and I wont the battle because my Dad wanted ribs. This place does not take reservations but you can do call ahead seating and get an number. the wait could be very long if you go at a peak time but if not, it won't be too long of a wait. We waited about 15 minutes before we sat to eat and the wait was fine since everyone was enjoying peanuts. Once we were seated out waiter came promptly over and took our drinks. I can't remember his name but he was great and attentive to all of our needs. He made a few mistakes but always corrected them very quickly and made jokes to keep us all laughing and happy. Everybody's food was delicious as per usual. I haven't had anything bad at this restaurant and I have never been with anyone who had anything bad. This place is just great all around. The only negative I have is very surprising. The rolls and butter here are absolutely amazing and they always have been. The only thing is they were different for this trip and not a good different. Great steakhouse. Went there with six people total. They put us in a booth made for four. They only have booths now. Bumping elbows is not a good way to cut steak. Thank goodness the steak was good. Decided to eat somewhere we have eaten many times before. This place pretty much has all you could possibly want. I am a steak guy but that chicken though (country fried chicken). Sooo good. When you go there make sure you get the green-beans. I know most people turn their nose at gbs. But these are cooked with bacon and onions and if you love nothing else you'll love them. After our horrible experience a little over a year ago, we went back(using a certificate for a free dinner for our entire group of 10, yes, it took us that long to assemble everyone together) and what a difference!! We were seated and had drinks almost immediately. The food and the service were exceptional(Thank you to our server Lisa for doing an amazing job!!!!) They more than outdid themselves and more than made up for the past visit/disaster!! The food was great and made exactly as we ordered it. Stopped in here Thursday night with Melissa Leigh, Wydnne and Kelsey. It was around 8:30 pm and the place was kind of quiet. We had a sampler appetizer that had jalapeno poppers, chicken "critters" and potato skins. All were just OK, the chicken was really too big a piece for an app. The bread they brought out was hot, fresh and tasty and the Cinnamon butter was a nice delicious touch. I had a Country Fried Steak that was also just OK, but the BBQ beans side were excellent and authentic BBQ! Our waitress was a little strange to be honest, she came this close to dumping my food in my lap, I stopped the steak, covered with white gravy from sliding off my plate with a quick finger stab. I had a suit on too, so it would have been a disaster. When she brought the check she brought us the wrong one. I almost never look at them so I was all set to pay that one until she came running over and told us of her error. Just had the most wonderful experience! We walked in expecting a wait because the parking lot was busy, but instead were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately and served our first basket of hot bread! Mark, our server, came over with more breads and took our drink orders. When asked, he didn't hesitate to give feedback on the drink options and got them to us quickly. He told us about our specials & wasn't at all bothered by our separate check requests.
