Texas road house is a great chain restaurant. You are getting what you expect from a chain but it is definitely a step above going to an Applebees or Chili's. The food is decent and pretty reasonable for a steak. The bread and butter they put on the tables will literally have you drooling. The service here was excellent and the ambiance makes you feel like you are in an old western mixed with a kids rodeo? Basically it's not super romantic but very family friendly and can accommodate large parties. I do NOT recommend getting the blooming onion it is basically a sodium bomb described as a fried onion. Couple minutes into being seated, looks like someone threw up in front of women's bathroom and I think inside as well. The staff was trying to clean up as fast as they could but the smell was terrible and kind of lost my appetite. Someone who looked like a manager walked around asking how things were but he decided to skip just our table. We tried to order 16oz prime rib but told they were out and only had 12oz so just settled on that. When food came out, they forgot to give us au jus sauce for the prime rib and the food was cooked more close to medium well instead of well as requested. Unless You Got Buns Hun. Oh Boy, Troy, they sure do got BUNS served with a spread mixture of butter, honey, cinnamon and powdered sugar. Fresh baked and served steaming hot, these buns will be a highlight of your visit. Ask for some to bring home and they will oblige. The dining room is fun and Texas festive. They bring a saddle chair for you to sit on while they sing their version of happy birthday. Rustic vibe with a big lone star on the ceiling, a Texas juke box, historic paintings and a huge moose with giant antlers mounted on the wall. The combo appetizer sampler was pretty basic with average boneless wings, the tater skins lacked flavor but the rattlesnake bites were yummy. Next visit will be a fuĺl appy order of the rattlesnake bite. The salad was crisp and fresh. The baked potato was loaded with yumminess and the rib eye was not as medium rare as I ordered but still good. Our waiter was very nice and patient. He kept our drinks topped off and was there for us when we needed him. He packed an order of buns for us with our doggy bag which was very nice. We are long time patrons of this place so when we waned to have a special birthday celebration for our son we chose here. I called just as they opened at 4 to say that I would have a party of 11 and was told "we can accommodate you" but to call back one hour before arriving. We anted to eat at 6:30 so I called again at 5:30. Once again I said I was on the way with 11 people and was told by a different person from the first that I need to text when my full party was at the location. Came for the veteran's day meals with my veteran. I don't usually frequent chain restaurants, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food here, plus we had great service. They had several choice for free veteran's entrees with choice of 2 sides and plus a voucher to use on another day. The first thing we got were the rolls. Soft buttery dinner rolls with sweet butter. We ate 4 each before our meals came. So good! And they gave us another batch to take home with our leftovers (which we had trouble finishing because ROLLS). I ordered the fried catfish with seasoned rice and house salad. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken with buttered corn and chili. The catfish was crispy and light, rice flavorful and salad pretty big and loaded with toppings. The chicken fried chicken was huge, pretty good corn, but the chili was the star of that meal. I would get the chili again for sure. The ribs fell right off the bone and the steak fries were tasty dipped into the house steak sauce on the table. Both food and service can be a hit or miss. I usually get the 6 oz Dallas filet medium rare which has come out perfect every time. But my parents get other cuts of steak and they're not always perfect. The rolls are 10/10 though. The most recent time I went, my server misunderstood our order and gave us our cheese fries as a side, when we meant to order the appetizer version which comes with bacon bits and is a shareable portion. The side portion had no bacon and came on a tiny plate, and I was like "no way this is $10." I didn't even realize cheese fries was an option as a side, because on the menu the appetizer we intended to order is literally called Cheese Fries. If the server was confused she should have asked. Speaking of sides, I wish they had more and/or better options. The baked potato is probably the best option, but even that is just mediocre. The seasoned rice is too salty for me, the corn seems like just canned corn, the mashed potatoes are kind of a weird texture... I haven't tried the other sides because they don't sound appealing to me lol. Always heard about Texas roadhouse and their photos lol he finally came to try it out. We were not disappointed. To start we had the appetizer combo with loaded tarts, which were basically like potato skins in my opinion, mozzarella curls and mild boneless chicken wings all of which were delicious. For my entrée, I had the fall off the bone ribs with a side of fries, topped with cheese and fresh vegetables, which was broccoli and honestly was the best broccoli I have ever had at a restaurant. All of that had left me stuffed and I couldn't finish my entrée, but I had leftovers and the next day so win win! The second time we came, I tried out the beef tips with rice and broccoli again, because, like I said, best broccoli I've ever had at restaurant before. There was a ton of onions and mushrooms not sure if that's the norm or if that was considered "smothered" but with the gravy it was delicious, there wasn't any sour cream maybe they forgot? This experience was bad if not extremely terrible. I reserved online through the website which was estimated to take 35-45 minutes. Afterwards there was an arrival check in. After an arrival check in another 30 minutes went by for an in person check in. In addition to that there was another 20 min wait for a table. Waiting aside, we ordered the moment we sat down. Our drinks arrived after 15 minutes, we requested water but water didn't arrive. We requested water again from the waitress 1 hour in (still no food). Waitress said she'll be over, we didn't receive water until 2 hours in (still no food). Food arrived in bits and pieces. One caesar salad 30 minutes in (appetizer), one cold ribeye entree, stale/cold fries and mac/cheese 45 minute after. Order came wrong, we ordered two porterhouse t bone and they brought us 2 bone in ribeye. The server took only one of the two porterhouse after being told its the wrong order. Walked away before i can even say anything more. Nobody checked in until 2 hours later a blonde manager came by perhaps to ask why we're still at the table for so long. Surprise, its cuz our food never arrived for 3 whole hours. Only bits and pieces of it did. To be honest I shouldve walked out without paying the bill. It was a pretty amazing place, I visited on a busy day however we were seated within 10 minutes and our server came to ensure we're doing well every now and then, I had the prime rib (18 oz, by adding 2 oz to the largest menu option) and it is great as always, it is juicy and never to chewy, flavorful and satisfying. The environment is well lit, cozy and comfortable, there are multiple groups of people celebrating their birthday, I felt like people enjoy this place very much. Plus it's better than buying at Walmart or anyplace similar because they don't offer the bonus card. As opposed to buying directly from Texas Roadhouse. Texas Roadhouse is probably one of my favorite chain steakhouses to go to. I normally have a great experience during my visits, but they're not all created equally! The food is pretty much consistent but the service is not. I went on a Friday night which is probably mistake number one. I downloaded the app and added my party of 4 to the wait list. Per the app, the wait time was 35 mins. 1 hour and 20 minutes later we got a text that the table was ready. The restaurant was fully staffed from what I could see, and we still waited about 10 minutes before someone came to the table. The food did arrive quickly and was really good which softened the blow of waiting forever. This was my first time at this location and I was unimpressed but a lot of things. For one- it's like organized confusion amongst the staff. The girls at the hostess stand were oblivious as to what was going on and had a very hard time getting the crowd of people under control. The two managers were walking around like nothing was happening while hell was literally breaking loose at the front end!! Also the restaurant could be a little bit cleaner. There is nowhere to park. You have to walk up to an outside window to place your to go order. It takes forever. Then they charged my card $54 for someone else's order. Mine was $18. So I had to come inside and wait for the manager to fix that. Then I wait for my order sitting in a lane you're not supposed to park in because there is nowhere to park. Then the text came in saying my order is ready. I had to wait in line behind 6 other people in the cold outside to get my order. I go to my car drive away only to find out they didn't include sour cream for the "loaded baked potato" I ordered. Just butter and cheese. But I got a phone call from them saying they forgot to put my salad in the bag. Oh my salad was in the bag albeit the smallest salad ever. This place is a mess and just awful. Never again. read more
